Won in 3 vs good fren javitu very ggs :3 Our battles went as close as ever with evenly matched teams but g2 showdown! decided to bless me with one of the most uneven matchups ever.
Machoke @ Quick Claw
Ability: Steadfast
Level: 80
Happiness: 204
EVs: 253 HP / 9 Atk / 20 Def / 199 SpA / 29 Spe
Sassy Nature
IVs: 9 HP / 23 Atk / 6 Def / 28 SpA / 8 SpD / 3 Spe
- Bulk Up
- Dual Chop
- Strength
- Rock Slide
=
Would have the most coverage of all my mons (although I did misread Dual Chop as Cross Chop lol. It wouldn't have mattered for my choice though). A close second would have been Dig/Grass Knot/Low Kick Golett but it got hit Super Effective by too many things. Unfortunately it couldn't break Tangrowth's defenses, but nothing on my team could.
Orbeetle @ TR84
Ability: Swarm
Level: 73
Happiness: 174
EVs: 161 Atk / 7 Def / 247 SpA / 95 Spe
Docile Nature
IVs: 3 HP / 13 Atk / 9 Def / 26 SpA / 2 SpD / 5 Spe
- Psyshock
- Psychic
- Wonder Room
- Magic Room
=
Psychic Spam with a ton of SpA EVs, which would work against everything except maybe Munna, which I hoped would be deterred from getting sent out because of the potential bug move. Would have lost this if Octillery didn't Moody their SpD down.
Loudred @ TR22
Ability: Scrappy
Level: 84
Happiness: 254
EVs: 5 HP / 139 Atk / 136 Def / 230 Spe
Serious Nature
IVs: 23 HP / 28 Atk / 6 Def / 19 SpA / 23 SpD / 2 Spe
- Mega Kick
- Ice Punch
- Shadow Ball
- Howl
=
Scrappy, Mega Kick and Ice Punch were practically a guaranteed win, doing good damage to everything whilst sporting a very low chance of being taken out quickly themselves. However, Shelgon's defenses, on top of a Crunch Crit, were too much. Using Mega Kick T2 was not an option as it would have been a 25% loss against a [insert crit rate here] L.
Greedent @ TR30
Ability: Gluttony
Level: 76
Happiness: 144
EVs: 139 HP / 136 Atk / 27 Def / 200 SpD / 8 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 20 HP / 15 Atk / 19 Def / 12 SpA / 16 SpD / 10 Spe
- Psychic Fangs
- Payback
- Counter
- Brutal Swing
=
Counter very conveniently deals with 3 threats that my team couldn't handle, unless you count Blizzard Wartortle as a valid answer. These threats were Tapu Bulu, Krookodile and Braviary. Payback or Brutal Swing would deal with Abra and Slowbro respectively, leaving only Alcremie as a bit of a tough matchup. However, good HP and SpD investment might have even flipped that in our favor. how the fuck do you get Seed Bomb + SD Bulu, teach me
Uxie @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
Level: 68
Happiness: 141
EVs: 2 HP / 204 Atk / 2 Def / 101 SpA / 21 SpD / 180 Spe
Rash Nature
IVs: 13 HP / 9 Atk / 21 Def / 23 SpA / 17 SpD / 3 Spe
- Ice Punch
- Extrasensory
- Draining Kiss
- Light Screen
=
Working resist berry on top of a good moveset would make the only annoying matchup Bronzor and Marowak-A. Came very close to actually pulling through, but Outrage got us in the end. Also, take a look at this godly set that got rolled:
Exeggcute @ Full Incense
Ability: Harvest
Level: 86
Happiness: 235
EVs: 222 HP / 31 Atk / 255 Def / 2 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 17 HP / 18 Atk / 11 Def / 19 SpA / 2 SpD / 8 Spe
- Ingrain
- Moonlight
- Leech Seed
- Hypnosis
=
If it weren't for the fact that tere was a Maro-A, Fletchling or Noivern on the other side, I might have legit picked this.
Basculin (Basculin-Blue-Striped) @ Hondew Berry
Ability: Adaptability
Level: 77
Happiness: 224
EVs: 171 HP / 41 Atk / 140 Def / 14 SpA / 102 SpD / 42 Spe
Rash Nature
IVs: 22 Atk / 12 Def / 22 SpA / 28 SpD / 23 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Scale Shot
- Crunch
- Sleep Talk
=
Absolute goat set. Adaptability Flip Turn hits Magby, Nihilego and Ribombee, Scale Shot for Naganadel and Crunch for Wailord. We don't talk about Leafeon. Getting 5-hits + 1 Crit on Scale Shot is lucky, however it wouldn't have mattered that much as the speed boost from Scale Shot put me at 271 Speed, 1 point above Naganadel's max CC1v1 speed of 270.
Sawk (M) @ Bright Powder
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 76
Happiness: 47
EVs: 220 Def / 133 SpA / 114 SpD / 43 Spe
Naive Nature
IVs: 8 HP / 8 Atk / 15 SpA / 17 SpD / 30 Spe
- Low Kick
- Mega Punch
- Facade
- Ice Punch
=
Another set that was practically an instawin if Zekrom didn't had a great set as well. Low Kick and Ice Punch hit everything bar Litten super effectively, and if Litten had a set that could potentially Burn Facade would bonk it away too.
Surskits seal the week with a hard fought victory. GGs to my worthy opponent Aqua, and team pew pew - nebby is in the bag. (Technically we won this week 11-0, right Maswood????)
