Chandelure (Analysis)

Thanks for the check, Snorlaxe, I really appreciate it.

[Other Options] and [Checks and Counters] shouldn't be CAPS locked.

0.o I didn't know that.

I'm going to have to edit a lot of analyses now...

Wait, what;s wrong with using Timid? You don't want physical for Chandelure. It'd be a waste of a move.
Chandelure gains hardly any benefit from a Timid nature, while a Modest nature accentuates its incredible Special Attack. A Timid nature is mentioned in Additional Comments for both sets.

Should be noted that even with 0 IVs and Quiet nature, Chande is still faster than Amoonguss, Cofagrigus, Reuniclus, Conkeldurr, Eelektross, and Scrafty (if all run lowest speed) on the first turn while then proceeding to sweep without needing to set up trick room has the opponent will do it for you, allowing a lot more foom for another attack like Psychic or HP Ice. To me, Quiet 0 IV's sounds almost ideal.

If you're going with the idea of using the opponent's Trick Room against them, I don't see how Quiet with 0 Speed IVs has any benefit over Modest; Chandelure is at the edge of its Speed tier, meaning that it won't outspeed anything significant under Trick Room with Quiet than with Modest. I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say.

With quiet, he's still fast enough to outspeed the opposing trick room pokemon, while being slow enough to abuse trick room. With the strategy in mind, you don't need to pack trick room on your chande.

It's still slow enough to abuse Trick Room when Modest, too. It outspeeds almost nothing in TR by using Quiet when compared to Modest, and only makes it less useful against opposing Trick Room teams.

No, that's what I'm trying to say. Quiet outspeeds very little in Trick Room compared to Modest, which is why it's in AC. Quiet is only useful if you want to use Chandelure on a dedicated Trick Room team. If anything, I would say Modest would be more useful for goodstuff, as it allows Chandelure to outspeed literally everything on a standard Trick Room team and hit hard with its dual STAB. Choosing Quiet does nothing for Chandelure besides allowing it to underspeed Pokemon such as Adamant Scrafty, which are not normally seen on Trick Room teams, and which Chandelure would do better to outspeed, to get an attack off before it is KOed.

Valid points. Assuming trick room isn't up, which I allow them to set-up. Either way, you win some you lose some. Quiet just fits my team.
