move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Energy Ball
move 4: Trick / Flamethrower
item: Choice Specs
ability: Flash Fire / Flame Body
nature: Timid

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Specs Chandelure is a phenomenal wallbreaker that takes advantage of its base 145 Special Attack stat and the tier's lack of answers to its STAB combination to fire off powerful STAB Shadow Balls and Fire Blasts. Energy Ball allows Chandelure to OHKO Rhyperior, 2HKO Gigalith after Stealth Rock, and 2HKO specially defensive Water-types like Milotic and Vaporeon. Trick gives Chandelure the ability to cripple some of its switch-ins like Incineroar and Umbreon that it can have difficulties breaking. Alternatively, Flamethrower can be used for a more consistent Fire-type coverage move against foes like Knock Off Tsareena and Escavalier without fear of missing.

Pivots like Heliolisk, Noivern, and Flygon make for great partners, as they can bring Chandelure in safely. Heliolisk is able to remove Water-types such as Mantine that have the bulk to stomach multiple Shadow Balls from Chandelure. Tsareena pairs well with Chandelure because it can remove entry hazards, remove most of Chandelure's defensive checks, and bring it in safely with U-turn against foes like Galarian Weezing. Vaporeon and Mantine are great partners because they can check many of Chandelure's revenge killers such as Flygon, Doublade, and Noivern. Fighting-types like Machamp and Pangoro can break past some of Chandelure's best defensive answers like Incineroar and Umbreon. Mamoswine and Galarian Weezing pair well with Chandelure, as they appreciate it being able to defensively check and remove the likes of Ninetales, Roserade, non-Earthquake Lucario, and opposing Galarian Weezing. Roserade and the aforementioned Galarian Weezing can also support Chandelure with Toxic Spikes to put checks like Umbreon and Gigalith in range of its coverage. Late-game sweepers like Cobalion and Celebi appreciate Chandelure being able to weaken their checks to help them sweep.

move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Flamethrower
move 4: Energy Ball
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Flash Fire / Flame Body
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Calm Mind Chandelure is a strong late-game sweeper capable of retaining wallbreaking potential similar to its Choice Specs set without the drawback of being Choice locked. This allows Chandelure to be less prediction reliant when it comes to breaking past some of its bulkier checks such as Milotic and Rhyperior. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Chandelure to consistently pivot in without fear of being worn down by entry hazards, removing its weakness to Stealth Rock and preventing it from being put on a timer by Toxic Spikes. Fire Blast can be used over Flamethrower for its increased power, but it isn't as reliable, which can be costly late-game for this set. Substitute can be considered with Leftovers to avoid status ailments, but Chandelure struggles to set up a Calm Mind safely behind a Substitute without fearing Rock Blast from Rhyperior and Gigalith and Infiltrator Noivern revenge killing it. It is also forced to give up the coverage that lets it break past bulky Water-types and the aforementioned Rock-types reliably.

Golisopod and Roserade can provide Chandelure with Spikes and, in the latter's case, Toxic Spikes support to wear down its checks like Milotic and Gigalith into range of a boosted Energy Ball. Roserade can also provide Chandelure with multiple setup opportunities thanks to Sleep Powder as well as threaten most of Chandelure's defensive switch-ins. Araquanid makes for a great partner because it can threaten Umbreon and Gigalith and beat the bulky Water-types with Toxic. Araquanid can also support Chandelure with Sticky Web to make up for its mediocre base 80 Speed stat and dependency to set up a Calm Mind. Lucario and Cobalion are capable of comfortably pivoting into and removing Umbreon and Drapion, the latter of which is able to revenge kill Chandelure. Wallbreakers like Toxtricity and Haxorus make great partners to help remove foes like Milotic and Umbreon that Chandelure struggles to break past. Noivern and Choice Scarf Flygon can make up for Chandelure's middling Speed tier to remove faster threats such as Inteleon that attempt to revenge kill it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Chandelure is a decent Choice Scarf user capable of revenge killing threats such as Lucario and Celebi that would otherwise OHKO it after a boost with Earthquake and Psychic, respectively. Fire Blast is a necessity on this set to make up for Chandelure being solely reliant on its natural Special Attack to OHKO threats like Celebi and Virizion. Energy Ball should primarily be used to break past Rhyperior and Gastrodon while doing a respectable amount to the bulky Water-types. Trick is essential to cripple the likes of Umbreon, Incineroar, and Mantine that Chandelure can't break.

Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sirfetch'd and Haxorus are necessary to help Chandelure break past defensive pivots like Umbreon and Gigalith that it otherwise struggles with. In return, Chandelure can assist them by revenge killing faster threats that force them out, such as Celebi and Noivern, respectively. Entry hazard removal from the likes of Galarian Weezing and Noivern is extremely helpful, the former of which is also capable of crippling the likes of Incineroar and Gigalith with Toxic. Rhyperior and Gigalith pair nicely with Chandelure, as they appreciate it being able to remove offensive Grass-types like Tsareena and Roserade and, in turn, provide it with Stealth Rock support to bring foes like Mamoswine and Gardevoir in range of a Fire Blast and Shadow Ball, respectively. Late-game sweepers such as Lucario and Cobalion appreciate Chandelure being able to support them by removing faster threats like Inteleon and Espeon that can revenge kill and prevent them from sweeping. Checks to Dragon Dance Haxorus are mandatory, as Chandelure can't revenge kill it, so Pokemon like Mamoswine and Whimsicott make great partners.

Hi! AM QC check here. This was a lot to unpack so if I get something wrong then you know where to find me on Discord. Comments in purple.
Choice Specs Chandelure is a phenomenal wallbreaker that takes advantage of the tier being limited to Pokemon like Snorlax, Umbreon, and Gigalith as the most consistent pivots into Chandelure to fire off powerful STAB Shadow Ball and Fire Blasts off a base 145 base Special Attack stat, the highest in the tier.
Trick gives Chandelure the ability to cripple some of its switches in like Snorlax and Umbreon that it can have difficulties breaking. Alternatively, Flamethrower can be used for a more consistent Fire-type coverage.
Dunno about the Snorlax mention, I mean I think its pretty mediocre right now, if not outright bad. especially with Machamp on the rise. Its also not that good of a Chandy answer because like you say, Trick completely screws it over. I'd just mention Umbreon and Gigalith. On the Trick section, Milotic or Vaporeon can be added in here in place of Snorlax. If you do this remove the other Snorlax mentions throughout this too.

Pivots like Heliolisk, Flygon, Xatu make for great partners as they can bring Chandelure in safely.
Heliolisk and Flygon are fine, Xatu seems like a pretty shaky partner. Like yeah you bounce back hazards and that sort of stuff, but the type of stuff that will be switching into Xatu for it to Teleport on are usually Dark-types or sometimes even Water-types.

Substitute can be considered with Leftovers to avoid status like Toxic from Galarian Weezing, but it struggles to set up a Calm Mind safely behind a Substitute without fearing Rock Blast from Rhyperior and Gigalith and Infiltrator Noivern revenge killing it.
I get what you're trying to say like this but I'd honestly never keep Weezing in on Chandelure unless I'm absolutely forced to or have Shadow Ball. The former is a very specific situation while the latter is uncommon.

Froslass, Golisopod, and Roserade can provide Chandelure with Spikes support to wear down its checks like Milotic and Gigalith into range of a boosted Energy Ball. Roserade can also help Chandelure with multiple set up opportunities thanks to Sleep Powder as well as threaten most of Chandelure's defensive switches in. Araquanid makes for a great partner for Chandelure as it can threaten Umbreon, Gigalith, and beat the bulky Water-types with Toxic. Araquanid can also support Chandelure with Sticky Webs support to make up for its mediocre base 80 Speed stat and dependency to set up a Calm Mind. Lucario is capable of comfortably pivoting into and removing Umbreon and Drapion for Chandelure, the latter of which is able to revenge kill Chandelure.
This section is good, but no mention of Toxic Spikes users? I think they're pretty good partners as common Chandelure switch ins dislike taking gradual chip. Umbreon and Vaporeon have to waste a turn using Heal Bell which is very exploitable, and after Toxic Spikes you punish things like Milotic better. Galarian Weezing also switches into Umbreon for Chandelure and can lure bulky Waters with Toxic.

Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sirfetch'd and Haxorus are necessary to help Chandelure break past defensive pivots like Umbreon and Gigalith that it otherwise struggles to do.
I mean does Haxorus really have a good matchup vs Umbreon? Unless you're running Close Combat you don't OHKO and proceed to take over 60% from Foul Play. It can also just Protect scout you to see what move you go for.

Choice Specs
  • "the tier being limited to Pokemon like Umbreon, Gigalith, and Incineroar as the most consistent pivots into Chandelure" - I'd condense this section of the sentence into something similar to "the tier's lack of answers to its STAB combo." The sentence feels a bit cluttered as is.
  • Consider giving an example or two of a scenario where Flamethrower is the more reliable option (like vs. Knock Off Escav or Tsareena). Also be sure to bring up its lower power.
  • Include some examples of entry hazard support for Chandelure in team options here. Toxic Spikes could particularly be good to help cripple checks like Gigalith and bulky Water-types.
  • Examples of cleaners that Chandy can support as a breaker would also work well in your team options section.
Calm Mind
  • Take out the Fire Blast slash. You can keep a small mention in moves so long as you bring up its drawbacks but Flamethrower is a lot better for its reliability late-game, which is particularly important on this set.
  • Adjust your Fire Blast / Flamethrower sentences to phrase the latter more positively. Also replace your Hippowdon mention.
  • I'd also bring up Substitute's drawback of costing Chandelure coverage in your sentence about it.
  • I'd remove the Froslass example since it really isn't too relevant in this meta.
  • Bring up Cobalion as well when you mention Lucario.
  • Bring up some wallbreakers that can help strengthen Chandelure's late-game potency by weakening foes in the team options section.
  • I'd also consider adding some examples of speed control to help Chandelure more easily sweep without fear of being revenge killed
Choice Scarf
  • Moves section could use a little more substance. Bring up specific examples of Fire Blast's power coming into play. Also provide some uses for Energy Ball and Trick if you can without making it too repetitive.
  • Sigilyph has fallen off a bit recently, so I'd find a more relevant example.
  • Be sure to elaborate on what kinds of Pokemon specifically appreciate Chandelure's support in addition to Pokemon that support this specific set. Mainly setup sweepers in this scenario.
Implement this and it's 1/2. Nice work!

on scarf chand's analysis, i'd say checks to DD Haxorus are super necessary, given any team using chand as its scarfer would basically just hardlose to it otherwise. Whimsicott's rela notable bc it's certainly good at checking dd hax with Encore and can also pivot with U-turn, and there's always, like, Aromatisse or Mamoswine. Aside from that this analysis seems good. QC 2/2

Choice Specs Chandelure is a phenomenal wallbreaker that takes advantage of its base 145 Special Attack stat and the tier's lack of answers to its STAB combination to fire off powerful STAB Shadow Ball Balls and Fire Blasts off a base 145 base Special Attack stat.(repetitive) Energy Ball allows Chandelure to OHKO Rhyperior, 2HKO Gigalith after Stealth Rock, and 2HKO specially defensive Water-types like Milotic and Vaporeon. Trick gives Chandelure the ability to cripple some of its switches in switch-ins like Incineroar and Umbreon that it can have difficulties breaking. Alternatively, Flamethrower can be used for a more consistent Fire-type coverage move against foes like Knock Off Tsareena and Escavalier without fear of missing.

Pivots like Heliolisk, Noivern, and Flygon make for great partners,(AC) as they can bring Chandelure in safely. Heliolisk is able to remove the bulky Water-types such as Mantine that have the bulk to stomach multiple Shadow Balls from Chandelure.(calling them "bulky" twice is unnecessary I feel) Tsareena pairs well with Chandelure as because it can remove entry hazards, remove most of Chandelure's defensive checks, and bring it in safely with U-turn against foes like Galarian Weezing. Vaporeon and Mantine are great partners as because they can check many of Chandelure's revenge killers such as Flygon, Doublade, and Noivern. Late-game sweepers like Cobalion and Celebi appreciate Chandelure being able to weaken their checks to help them sweep in the late-game.(you've already said they're late-game sweepers, so it should be clear that's when they're looking to sweep)
