UU Chansey [QC 3/3] [GP: 2/2]

Chansey-Modell.png

[OVERVIEW]
Chansey's sky-high, Eviolite-boosted special bulk allows it to wall nearly every special attacker in UU, including fearsome threats such as Nidoqueen, Primarina, and Galarian Moltres. In addition, Chansey can withstand certain physical attacks from setup sweepers like Gyarados and Salamence before they are sufficiently boosted and cripple them with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Chansey is also hard to wear down, since it has Soft-Boiled for HP recovery and Natural Cure to remove status ailments. It also has many utility moves such as Heal Bell and Stealth Rock to support its team. However, Chansey is rather passive, as it relies on Seismic Toss and Toxic to deal damage. As a result, many Pokemon, especially bulky setup sweepers such as Hatterene, Galarian Slowbro, and Reuniclus, easily take advantage of Chansey. Without Teleport, Chansey is a huge momentum drain for non-stall teams. Chansey's typing provides few useful resistances, and Chansey by itself must rely on its bulk to keep threats in check. Since it is unable to use Heavy-Duty Boots, Chansey is vulnerable to every entry hazard, meaning it gets overwhelmed by them quickly. Chansey is also susceptible to Knock Off and Trick, as without Eviolite, it is harder for Chansey to keep threats in check.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Seismic Toss
move 2: Toxic
move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Stealth Rock / Heal Bell
item: Eviolite
ability: Natural Cure
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Seismic Toss makes Chansey less passive, since it deals reliable damage to all but Ghost-types. Toxic helps Chansey wear down opposing Pokemon, especially bulky foes like Salamence, Tangrowth, and Moltres. Since Chansey has little to fear from many special attackers, it can force switches and get many opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Alternatively, Chansey can use Heal Bell to support its teammates if the team already has a Stealth Rock setter. Thunder Wave can be used instead of Toxic to support slow teammates, but it makes Chansey weaker against bulky Pokemon and has less use overall. Teleport is a great support move on balance teams to bring other teammates safely onto the battlefield and to keep up momentum. However, Stealth Rock and Heal Bell provide more support and are better on more archetypes. Maximum investment in Defense and HP alongside a Bold nature allows Chansey to check Psyshock Starmie and Hatterene as well as weaker physical attackers such Rhyperior and defensive Salamance more effectively.

Chansey's main niche is on stall teams as a sturdy wall for special attackers. Chansey can also work on balance teams as a defensive pivot with Teleport. Sturdy physical walls such as Tangrowth, Buzzwole, and Kommo-o check threatening wallbreakers such as Tapu Bulu, Diggersby, and Lycanroc-D for Chansey. In return, Chansey checks strong special attackers such as Nidoqueen, Moltres, and Primarina. Since entry hazards limit Chansey's ability to switch into attacks and force it to recover more, entry hazard control from Salamance, Hatterene, and Moltres is crucial. Unaware Pokemon like Quagsire and Pyukumuku as well as Haze Milotic and Tentacruel can check threatening setup sweepers like Aegislash, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro. Choice Scarf Ditto is also an option to keep offensive setup sweepers like Kommo-o, Azumarill, and Gyarados in check. A good Knock Off absorber such as Tangrowth, Amoonguss, or Cobalion is helpful, as Chansey needs Eviolite to better switch into attacks. Amoonguss is also able to check Keldeo and Azumarill. If Chansey is used as a pivot on balance teams, strong but frail Pokemon such as Thundurus, Lycanroc-D, and Crawdaunt appreciate Teleport Chansey's ability to bring them safely onto the battlefield.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Chansey can run Counter to surprise physical attackers. However, it's hard to fit over another move, works only once as a lure, and depends on prediction. Wish is helpful to heal teammates, especially those without a reliable recovery move. However, Chansey prefers the one-turn recovery in Soft-Boiled to be a reliable wall. Additionally, many Pokemon on stall teams have reliable recovery and prefer the Stealth Rock or Heal Bell support. Confide is an niche option to prevent Calm Mind users such as Chandelure, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro from setting up on Chansey.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Fighting-types such as Kommo-o, Buzzwole, and Keldeo can easily break through Chansey with their powerful STAB moves. Strong physical attackers with Fighting-type coverage such as Aegislash, Lycanroc-D, and Tapu Bulu are also able to break through Chansey easily. However, all but Conkeldurr dislike being crippled by Toxic or Thunder Wave.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Strong physical attackers such as Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Azumarill can break through Chansey despite its Defense investment with their powerful moves or weaken it by removing its Eviolite with Knock Off. However, most fear Toxic or Thunder Wave.

**Bulky Setup Sweepers**: Bulky setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Aegislash, Calm Mind Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro are immune to Toxic and take advantage of Chansey's passive nature.

**Knock Off and Trick**: Every Knock Off user, including Krookodile, Thundurus, and Tangrowth is a huge threat to Chansey, as once it loses its Eviolite, it is harder for it to switch into attacks. Trick users like Jirachi, Rotom-W and Chandelure limit Chansey's effectiveness by crippling it with a Choice item.

  • Chansey is susceptible to Knock Off, Trick, and Corrosive Gas as without Eviolite it is harder for Chansey to switch into opposing attacks and keep threats in check. remove the corrosive gas part it's not a common enough move to warrant a mention
It's still worth mentioning that thanks to Eviolite Chansey's Defense is pretty respectable. For example, it can stomach two V-create from Scarf tini and if needed it can take a +1 Outrage from mence etc.

Also, add a point about Chansey being overwhelmed by entry hazards.

  • Seismic Toss deals to every Pokemon, except Ghost-types, reliable damage.
  • Toxic allows Chansey to wear down opposing Pokemon, especially bulky foes like Salamence, Tangrowth, and Slowking, quicker. Toxic is also Chanseys best move to punish Ghost-types such as Chandelure, Mimikyu, and Polteageist, which may try to setup in front of it.
  • Thunder Wave, on the other hand, supports slow teammates by paralyzing faster foes.
  • Since Chansey has little to fear from many special attackers and often forces switches, it gets many opportunities to set up Stealth Rock.

Zam is a mon it does not reliably beat so change it to Starmie. Also, you don't want to be a Scizor check when it commonly runs Knock.

  • Chansey's main niche is on stall teams as a sturdy wall for special attackers; however, Chansey can also work on balance teams as a defensive pivot with Teleport.
  • Sturdy physical walls such as Tangrowth, Salamence, Palossand, and Skarmory can check threatening wallbreakers and Fighting-types such as Tapu Bulu, Zeraora, Terrakion, and Keldeo for Chansey. None of these are really great Keldeo checks, also you can remove mence from here given you give it a mention in the next point In return, Chansey checks strong special attackers such as Nidoqueen, Galarian Moltres, and Primarina. • A good Knock Off absorber such as Tangrowth and Skarmory is helpful, as Chansey needs the extra boost from Eviolite to better check special attackers. Bring up Amoong over Tangrowth then expand further on it checking Keldeo and Azumarill well here
  • If Chansey is used as a pivot on balance teams, strong but frail Pokemon such as Alakazam, Lycanroc-D, and Crawdaunt appreciate Chanseys ability to bring them safely onto the battlefield.
There should be some mentions of Steel-types that pair well with it because Chansey really hates Alakazam and SubRoost Kyurem. Scizor and Jirachi would work fine here.

Worth mentioning they all run Knock However, most of these Pokemon fear either to get poisoned by Toxic or paralized by Thunder Wave.

**Bulky setup sweepers**: Sword Dance Scizor with Roost, Calm Mind Reuniclus, Hatterene, and Galarian Slowbro are bulky setup sweepers that take advantage of Chansey's passive nature.

**Knock Off and Trick**: Every Knock Off user is a huge threat for Chansey, as once it loses its Eviolite, it is harder for it to switch into opposing attacks. Mention some Knock users, particularly ones that can lure it. For example, Alakazam commonly runs Knock Off on its AoA sets. Nihilego can also do the same. Trick user like Jirachi, Victini, and Chandelure limits Chanseys effectiveness completely by crippling it with a Choice item.

In addition, it can even check some physical attackers such as Gyarados, Salamence, and Scolipede. (it doesn't really "check" any of these per say, as all of them can muscle through Chansey eventually. What the previous qc was saying is that it can withstand some physical hits though as +1 Outrage does not KO, but it should be noted that it shouldn't be used for this purpose primarily.)
  • Chansey is also hard to wear down, since it has access to Soft-Boiled to keep itself healthy while its ability Natural Cure heals every status ailment when switching out.
  • Chansey has many utility moves such as Heal Bell, Stealth Rock, Toxic, Thunder Wave, and Teleport to support its team.
  • However, Chansey is a rather passive Pokemon, as it relies on Seismic Toss and Toxic to deal damage to opposing Pokemon. As a result, many Pokemon, especially bulky setup sweepers such as Scizor, Galarian Slowbro, and Hatterene (Chansey can usually win the 1v1 vs. CM Hatterene if it comes in right away. You used Reuniclus in your previous version and I think that works better here, or you could mention Aegislash) can easily take advantage of Chansey and without Teleport Chansey is a huge momentum drain for non stall teams.
  • Chanseys type provides no few useful resistances (Ghost immunity is something, so better to say "few" than "no") for the team and Chansey by itself must relies rely on its bulk to keep threats in check.
  • It is also vulnerable to every entry hazard, meaning Chansey gets overwhelmed by them quickly. (I would mention here how Eviolite being mandatory prevents it from utilizing HDB)
  • Chansey is susceptible to Knock Off and Trick as without Eviolite it is harder for Chansey to switch into opposing attacks and keep threats in check.

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Seismic Toss deals to every Pokemon, except Ghost-types, reliable damage. (This is pretty self-explanatory - I would instead mention how Seismic Toss allows it to not be completely passive)
  • Toxic allows Chansey to wear down opposing Pokemon, especially bulky foes like Salamence, Tangrowth, and Sylveon (Sylveon runs Heal Bell sometimes so I would mention a different bulky mon like Moltres), quicker. Toxic is also Chanseys best move to punish Ghost-types such as Chandelure, Mimikyu, and Polteageist, which may try to setup in front of it. (This sentence about ghosts is a bit odd now because Mimikyu is not very viable anymore (C rank), and Aegislash is now in the tier and Toxic immune. I would re-work it to something along the lines of saying how it can punish certain Ghost-types like Chandelure and Polteageist, but Aegislash is totally immune, however you want to say it)
  • Thunder Wave, on the other hand, supports slow teammates by paralyzing faster foes. (since Thunder Wave is not slashed on this set, I would mention why Toxic is typically better to run over it)
  • Since Chansey has little to fear from many special attackers and often forces switches, it gets many opportunities to set up Stealth Rock.
  • Alternatively, Chansey can use Heal Bell to support its teammates if the team has already already has a Stealth Rock setter.
  • Teleport is a great support move on more balance teams to bring other teammates safely onto the battlefield and to keep up momentum.

  • Since every entry hazard limits Chansey's ability to switch into opposing attacks and forces it to recover itself more often, an entry hazard control like Salamance, Hatterene, and Moltres is crucial.
  • Unaware Pokemon like Quagsire and Pyukumuku as well as phazers like Haze Milotic or Clear Smog Gastrodon check threatening setup sweepers like Sword Dance Aegislash, Scizor, Calm Mind Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro.(You don't need to mention the set up moves since you already identified them as setup sweepers) Choice Scarf Ditto is also an option to keep offensive setup sweepers like Kommo-o, Azumarill, and Salamence Gyarados in check. (Gyarados is a better mention since it's one of the only setup sweepers that the unaware mons can't check well. Also Ditto has to usually lock into Outrage to revenge kill offensive Mence, leaving it open for a fairy to KO it)
  • A good Knock Off absorber such as Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Cobalion is helpful, as Chansey needs the extra boost from Eviolite to better check special attackers (Eviolite is important for all attacks, so reword this a bit to reflect that instead of just special attackers). Amoonguss is also able to check Keldeo and Azumarill.
  • If Chansey is used as a pivot on balance teams, strong but frail Pokemon such as Thundurus, Lycanroc-D, and Crawdaunt appreciate Chanseys ability to bring them safely onto the battlefield.

Other Options

  • Chansey can run Counter to surprise physical attackers. However, this this move is hard to fit over another move (this is a bit vague - I would expand a bit on why it needs its other specific moves more) and works only once as a lure.
  • Wish is helpful to heal other teammates, especially these without a reliable recovery move. However, it is also hard to fit over another move. (This is also vague - I would mention why Softboiled is preferred to Wish specifically)
  • Confide is an option to prevent that Calm Mind users such as Chandelure, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro that can setup on Chansey. However, Confide has less use outside of these situations.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types and Pokemon with Fighting-type moves**: Fighting-types such as Kommo-o, Buzzwole, and Keldeo can easily break through Chansey with their powerful STAB moves. Aegislash, Lycanroc-D, and Tapu Bulu are some examples of strong attackers, which run powerful Fighting-type moves that can knock out Chansey too. (none of the non-Fighting types can actually OHKO Chansey, so worth mentioning that and maybe use something else besides "knock out") However, besides Conkeldurr all these Pokemon dislike being crippled by either Toxic or Thunder Wave.

**Strong physical attackers**: Despite a full investment in Defense, strong physical attackers such as Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Azumarill can still break through Chansey with their powerful moves or weaken it by removing its Eviolite with Knock Off. However, most of these Pokemon fear either to get poisoned by Toxic or paralized paralyzed by Thunder Wave.

**Bulky setup sweepers**: Sword Dance Scizor with Roost (Scizor is dangerous with or without Roost), Calm Mind Reuniclus, Hatterene, and Galarian Slowbro are bulky setup sweepers that take advantage of Chansey's passive nature. (I would rephrase this a bit to start with something like "Bulky set up sweepers like X, X, and X, can take advantage of Chansey's passive nature", since the way you have it written right now implies that these four are the only bulky setup sweepers, which is not the case)

**Knock Off and Trick**: Every Knock Off user such as Scizor, Krookodile, and Azumarill is a huge threat for Chansey, as once it loses its Eviolite, it is harder for it to switch into opposing attacks. In addition, Chansey must also watch out for some potencial Knock Off from the likes of Thundurus and Nihilego. (you already stated "every Knock off user" before this, so you don't really need this extra line and you can instead move one of these examples to your first sentence.) Trick users like Jirachi, Rotom-Wash and Chandelure limits Chanseys effectiveness completely by crippling it with a Choice item.

In addition, it can withstand certain physical attacks from sweepers like Gyarados, Salamence, and Scolipede I'd remove this considering it isn't particularly relevant right now before they are sufficiently boosted, and cripple them with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Chansey is also hard to wear down, since it has access to Soft-Boiled to keep itself healthy while its ability Natural Cure heals every status ailment when switching out. Lastly, it has many utility moves such as Heal Bell, Stealth Rock, Toxic, Thunder Wave, and Teleport remove Teleport and Thunder Wave considering they aren't listed on the main set to support its team. However, Chansey is a rather passive Pokemon, as it relies on Seismic Toss and Toxic to deal damage to opposing Pokemon. [SET COMMENTS]
Seismic Toss makes Chansey less passive, since it deals to every Pokemon, except Ghost-types, reliable damage. Thunder Wave supports slow teammates by paralyzing faster foes. However, Toxic is the preferred move since it helps to wear down opposing Pokemon, especially bulky foes like Salamence, Tangrowth, and Moltres, quicker. This is a really weird way to phrase these two sentences. Bring Thunder Wave up AFTER you've offered up sentences for every move that's actually listed in the set, then list its drawbacks. It's confusing mentioning a suboptimal move first. Since Chansey has little to fear from many special attackers and often forces switches, it gets many opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Alternatively, Chansey can use Heal Bell to support its teammates if the team already has a Stealth Rock setter. Teleport is a great support move on more balance oriented teams to bring other teammates safely onto the battlefield and to keep up momentum. note that this isn't as consistently useful as Stealth Rock or Heal Bell due to the more urgent utility they provide Maximum investment in Defense and HP alongside a Bold nature allow Chansey to check Psyshock Starmie and Hatterene as well as weaker physical attackers such Rhyperior and defensive Salamance more effectively.

Chansey's main niche is on stall teams as a sturdy wall for special attackers; however, Chansey can also work on balance teams as a defensive pivot with Teleport. Unaware Pokemon like Quagsire and Pyukumuku as well as phazers like Haze Milotic or Clear Smog Gastrodon use Haze Tentacruel here instead maybe, I don't think Gastro can really fit clear smog too consistently check threatening setup sweepers like Aegislash, Scizor, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro. Choice Scarf Ditto is also an option to keep offensive setup sweepers like Kommo-o, Azumarill, and Gyarados in check. A good Knock Off absorber such as Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Cobalion is helpful, as Chansey needs the extra boost from Eviolite to better switch into opposing attackes from opposing Pokemon. Amoonguss is also able to check Keldeo and Azumarill. If Chansey is used as a pivot on balance teams, strong but frail Pokemon such as Thundurus, Lycanroc-D, and Crawdaunt appreciate Chanseys ability to bring them safely onto the battlefield.

Chansey can run Counter to surprise physical attackers. However, it's hard to fit over another move because without Stealth Rock or Heal Bell Chansey offers less support for the team while without Seismic Toss or Toxic it becomes more passive. In addition, Counter works only once as a lure and relies heavily on the right prediction. Wish is helpful to heal other teammates, especially these without a reliable recovery move. However, Chansey prefers the one turn recovery in Soft-Boiled to be a reliable check for opposing Pokemon. Additionally, many Pokemon on stall teams have reliable recovery moves and rather prefere the Stealth Rock or Heal Bell support. Lastly, Confide is an option to prevent Calm Mind users such as Chandelure, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro setup on Chansey. However, Confide has less use outside of these situations.

**Fighting-types and Pokemon with Fighting-type moves**: Fighting-types such as Kommo-o, Buzzwole, and Keldeo can easily break through Chansey with their powerful STAB moves. Strong physical attackers with a Fighting-type coverage such as Aegislash, Lycanroc-D, and Tapu Bulu are also able to break through Chansey easily. However, besides Conkeldurr all these Pokemon dislike being crippled by either Toxic or Thunder Wave.

**Strong physical attackers**: Despite a full investment in Defense, strong physical attackers such as Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Azumarill can still break through Chansey with their powerful moves or weaken it by removing its Eviolite with Knock Off. However, most of these Pokemon fear either to get poisoned by Toxic or paralyzed by Thunder Wave.

**Bulky setup sweepers**: Bulky setup sweepers such as Sword Dance Scizor, Calm Mind Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro take advantage of Chansey's passive nature. Note that all of these examples aren't worn down by Toxic due to either their immunities to it or Magic Guard in Reuniclus's case.

**Knock Off and Trick**: Every Knock Off user such as Scizor, Krookodile, and Thundurus is a huge threat for Chansey, as once it loses its Eviolite, it is harder for it to switch into opposing attacks. Trick users like Jirachi, Rotom-Wash and Chandelure limits Chanseys effectiveness completely by crippling it with a Choice item.

[OVERVIEW]
The combination of a sky-high HP stat and high Special Defense stat, which is additionally boosted by Eviolite, allow Chansey to wall nearly every special attacker in UU - including fearsome threats such as Nidoqueen, Primarina, and Galarian Moltres. As a result, many Pokemon, especially bulky setup sweepers such as Scizor, Galarian Slowbro, and Reuniclus easily take advantage of Chansey and without Teleport Chansey is a huge momentum drain for non stall teams. Chanseys type provides few useful resistances for the team and Chansey by itself must rely on its bulk to keep threats in check. Since it is unable to use Heavy-Duty Boots, Chansey is also vulnerable to every entry hazard, meaning Chansey gets overwhelmed by them quickly. Chansey is susceptible to Knock Off and Trick as without Eviolite it is harder for Chansey to switch into opposing attacks and keep threats in check.

In addition, Chansey can withstand certain physical attacks from setup sweepers like Gyarados and Salamence before they are sufficiently boosted, and cripple them with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Chansey is also hard to wear down, since it has access to Soft-Boiled to keep itself healthy, while its ability Natural Cure heals every status ailment when switching out Soft-Boiled for HP recovery and Natural Cure to remove status ailments. Lastly, it It also has many utility moves such as Heal Bell and Stealth Rock to support its team. However, Chansey is rather passive, as it relies on Seismic Toss and Toxic to deal damage to opposing Pokemon. As a result, many Pokemon, especially bulky setup sweepers such as Scizor, Galarian Slowbro, and Reuniclus, (comma) easily take advantage of Chansey. Without Teleport, Chansey is a huge momentum drain for non-stall teams. Chansey's typing provides few useful resistances for its team, and Chansey by itself must rely on its bulk to keep threats in check. Since it is unable to use Heavy-Duty Boots, Chansey is also vulnerable to every entry hazard, meaning it gets overwhelmed by them quickly. Chansey is susceptible to Knock Off and Trick, as without Eviolite, it is harder for Chansey to switch into opposing attacks and keep threats in check.

[SET COMMENTS]
Seismic Toss makes Chansey less passive, since it deals reliable damage to every Pokemon, except Ghost-types, for reliable damage all but Ghost-types. Toxic helps Chansey to wear down opposing Pokemon, especially bulky foes like Salamence, Tangrowth, and Moltres. Since Chansey has little to fear from many special attackers, it can force switch-ins switches and get many opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Alternatively, Chansey can use Heal Bell to support its teammates if the team already has a Stealth Rock setter. Thunder Wave can be used instead of Toxic to support slow teammates, by paralyzing faster foes, but it makes Chansey weaker against bulky Pokemon and Thunder Wave has less use overall than Toxic. Teleport is a great support move on more balance oriented teams to bring other teammates safely onto the battlefield and to keep up momentum. However, Stealth Rock and Heal Bell provide more support overall for the team and are better on more archetypes. Maximum investment in Defense and HP alongside a Bold nature allows Chansey to check Psyshock Starmie and Hatterene, (comma) as well as weaker physical attackers such Rhyperior and defensive Salamance more effectively.

Since entry hazards limit Chansey's ability to switch into opposing attacks and force it to recover more, it forces itself to recover often, entry hazard control from Salamance, Hatterene, and Moltres is crucial. Unaware Pokemon like Quagsire and Pyukumuku as well as Haze Milotic and Tentacruel, (comma) can check threatening setup sweepers like Aegislash, Scizor, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro. Choice Scarf Ditto is also an option to keep offensive setup sweepers like Kommo-o, Azumarill, and Gyarados in check. A good Knock Off absorber such as Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and or Cobalion is helpful, as Chansey needs the extra boost from Eviolite to better switch into opposing attacks.

Chansey can run Counter to surprise physical attackers. However, it's hard to fit over another move, (comma) works only once, and depends on prediction because without Stealth Rock or Heal Bell, Chansey offers less support for the team, while without Seismic Toss or Toxic, it becomes more passive. In addition, Counter works only once as a lure and relies heavily on the right prediction. Wish is helpful to heal other teammates, especially these those without a reliable recovery move. However, Chansey prefers the one turn recovery in Soft-Boiled to be a reliable check for opposing Pokemon wall. Additionally, many Pokemon on stall teams have reliable recovery and prefer the Stealth Rock or Heal Bell support. Lastly, Confide is an niche option to prevent Calm Mind users such as Chandelure, Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro setup from setting up on Chansey. However, Confide has less use outside of these situations.

**Fighting-types and Fighting-type coverage Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Fighting-types such as Kommo-o, Buzzwole, and Keldeo can easily break through Chansey with their powerful STAB moves. Strong physical attackers with a Fighting-type coverage such as Aegislash, Lycanroc-D, and Tapu Bulu are also able to break through Chansey easily. However, besides Conkeldurr all these Pokemon all but Conkeldurr dislike being crippled by either Toxic or Thunder Wave.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Despite a full investment in Defense, Strong physical attackers such as Diggersby, Mamoswine, and Azumarill can still break through Chansey despite its Defense investment with their powerful moves or weaken it by removing its Eviolite with Knock Off. However, most of these Pokemon fear either to get poisoned by Toxic or paralyzed by Thunder Wave fear Toxic or Thunder Wave.

**Bulky Setup Sweepers**: Bulky setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Scizor, Calm Mind Reuniclus, and Galarian Slowbro are immune to Toxic either due to their typing or ability, and take advantage of Chansey's passive nature.

**Knock Off and Trick**: Every Knock Off user, (comma) including Scizor, Krookodile, and Thundurus, is a huge threat to Chansey, such as Scizor, Krookodile, and Thundurus are huge threats for Chansey, as once it loses its Eviolite, it is harder for it to switch into opposing attacks. Trick users like Jirachi, Rotom-Wash Rotom-W, and Chandelure limit Chansey's effectiveness completely by crippling it with a Choice item.
