Chansey’s presence in Monotype can be credited to its immense bulk that lets it check the majority of special attackers in the tier, its access to reliable recovery that lets it check said special attackers, and its access to Stealth Rock and good status moves like Thunder Wave and Toxic to cripple foes. Natural Cure lets Chansey consistently absorb status ailments for teammates. Porygon2 and Staraptor form an amazing defensive core when used with Chansey. Porygon2 acts as a great answer to the strong physical attacks that Chansey has trouble tanking, and Staraptor checks Fighting-types like Breloom and Mega Gallade and can remove troublesome hazards with Defog. Mega Lopunny is one of the most important teammates for Chansey, as it breaks down Pokemon that Chansey struggles withlike Mega Sableye and Toxapex. Ditto can revenge kill setup sweepers that beat Chansey. Wallbreakers like Porygon Z and Diggersby help break down Pokemon that Chansey can’t beat, like SubToxic Zapdos, Celesteela, and Refresh Mega Latias.
