Charizard [QC 2/3] writing

I really think Dragon Tail on bulky Wisp Zard X deserves more than a small mention and more for last slash or at least top notch details mention. That + Spikes is a huge asset to it on balance and defensive cores. Skarmory needs to be a team option for this set as with Whirlwind + Spikes the two make a really great combo.

I also think the that Dragon Dance set should just go ahead and run max speed max attack with mentions of the 184 speed in set details for its Jolly variant. I'd slash Adamant after Jolly, since people are catching on that Lando-T is kind of a garbage switch / check to it alongside lower usage in comparison to tankchomp anyways and more so has to play a lot of mindgames to beat a Zard-X in most practical situations. Adamant Zard-X is also a monster cause makes things like Quagsire lose after being worn down and conventional switch ins are hard pressed to stomach a hit from the Adamant variant as opposed to Jolly for certain builds that don't need Jolly.

My search function isn't working right now since I searched Celebi and no result but saw in write up it's there bu Serperior needs to be listed for a partner as Char-X if it hasn't been yet. Any viable grass types or stuff that breaks down fat waters well should be considered partners for Zard-X.

Then just make language clear in final write up so I don't see "many threats such as the latis terrakion and ttar say gg to this set" which I know is a placeholder but seems off putting right now.

So I guess this kinda got shot down early on but I agree with boltsandbombers' original post that there should be an SD set for Zard X without Tailwind or at least make Tailwind optional or something. Charizard's base 100 speed is fine for a wallbreaker and doesn't necessitate a speed boosting move. Look at Zard Y and Gardevoir - they do fine sitting at their speed tiers and neither is dead weight against offense whatsoever. The choice of Roost > Tailwind is actually pretty legit if you ask me since the extra longevity can go a long way. It can still put in work against offensive builds because if it comes in on something that doesn't threaten it heavily (of which there are plenty thanks to its stellar typing) then nothing is going to want to switch into it anyway.

I guess I won't be that mad if it just ends up being OO but I think it's legit to run Swords Dance without Tailwind and to be honest I see it more often with Roost than Tailwind (though DD is far more common).

Definitely agreeing with bludz here, I've been an advocate of SD + Roost for a while now, and the fact that it's such a monster against slow teams is one of the reasons I supported Charizard X to S Rank (in addition to its other excellent traits, of course). I personally think that making Swords Dance + Tailwind a general Swords Dance set with options for Roost and possibly Earthquake over Tailwind would be great. Keep Tailwind the first slash if you deem it so worthy, but I think Roost at the very least deserves a secondary slash with Earthquake mentioned in Moves.

Other than that, see my post on the last page for stuff about SD + Roost Charizard X!

Mysteria

Are you going to be able to finish this?
Also SDef Zard Y isn't good anymore, no need to include it as a set. OO is fine. And make sure you remove every mention of Landorus!

A minor thing, but in the "Usage Tips" for the Dragon Dance set, it states that "Rotom-W is an easy target to set up on as it can't 2HKO with Hydro Pump". This isn't quite right with the current EV spread:
  • 0 SpA Rotom-W Hydro Pump vs. 104 HP / 0 SpD Mega Charizard X: 142-168 (43.9 - 52%) -- 11.7% chance to 2HKO
Charizard needs one of the following to survive the 2HKO from Rotom-W: 160 HP, 104 HP / 36 SpD, 152 HP / 4 SpD, or 88 HP / 44 SpD (88 HP and 152 HP were chosen to give 319 and 335 HP respectively, which are good numbers for lowering passive damage). Assuming the last spread to meet this threshold and preserve as much Attack as possible, that full EV spread would be 88 HP / 192 Atk / 44 SpD / 184 Spe. This is if Rotom-W's Hydro Pump is an appropriate benchmark to hit.

I don't think it is a big issue that you get 2hko'd 11.7% of the time since you can just click Roost until Hydro Pump either misses or is out of PP (only 8 PP) Agreeing that the part that says 'it can't 2HKO' should be removed but I think the spread is fine as it is right now.
