[OVERVIEW]
Charmander might look like a good Pokemon to use due to its movepool and access to Dragon Dance, but its power output is disappointing even with using Life Orb to get the most out of its attacks. It is outclassed by other Fire-types like Ponyta, Larvesta, and Magby due to their better Attack, Speed, and bulk.

[SET]
name: Life Orb
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Flare Blitz
move 3: Hidden Power Grass / Brick Break
move 4: Thunder Punch
item: Life Orb
ability: Blaze
nature: Adamant
evs: 180 Atk / 92 SpA / 236 Spe
ivs: 21 HP

[SET COMMENTS]
Charmander aims to set up on a predicted switch, an attack that it resists, or a Pokemon that is asleep to sweep. However, it gets easily stopped after a boost by Ground-types like Mudbray. Charmander gets easily worn down from recoil from its Life Orb and Flare Blitz, which can limit its sweeping power and be easily stopped by priority moves. Charmander is outclassed by other setup sweepers like Magby and Ponyta because of their better Attack and Speed stats, which allow them to take on Pokemon that Charmander cannot.

[OVERVIEW]
Would remove the mention of Growlithe and replace it with Magby. Growlithe is unviable. Also Charmander wouldn't even try to go semi defensive like Growlithe would. Rewrite the sentence afterwards to make sure it still makes sense.

[SET]
LO makes this really frail but it's ok I guess. I'm going to recommend you slash HP Grass before Brick Break and adjust the EVs as necessary. OHKOing Onix even with the -SpA nature is pretty good and very useful, moreso than Brick Break honestly.

[SET COMMENTS]
Obviously with putting HP Grass on the set the Onix bit has to change. Would recommend maybe Mudbray? Include a line about how Charmander tends to murder itself with recoil+LO damage so sweeping is difficult near the bit about weakness to priority. The last sentence is incredibly out of place because it's talking about the defensive utility of other Fire types and that's not what Charmander is remotely trying to be. Switch the comparison to other setup sweepers (with examples) and how they have an easier time setting up and sweeping.

Good.

Implement this and give yourself 1/2

  • should be power "output" not input

Charmander might look like a good Pokemon to use due to its movepool and access to Dragon Dance, but its power input is disappointing even with using Life Orb to get the most out of its attacks. • good

[SET COMMENTS]
  • This is a little long - remove everything from "like Gastly" on
  • instead of Charmander "is to set up" say "aims to set up" since it often won't be able to
  • Change the sentence beginning with "However, it gets stopped" to "However, it gets easily stopped even after a boost by Ground-types like Mudbray"
Also Charmander gets Belly Drum and Flame Charge, so the comparison you make shouldn't talk about these moves.
Sorry for the long wait, 2/2
