ORAS OU Chartastic

Hi guys n_n,I am here with a new team build by me(actually its old :p). I can't find more flaws on this team that's why I posted this RMT,plz help :].(I am not the best typist around :p).

TEAM AT GLANCE
006-mega-y.png

First mon of this team,it is one of the best wall breaker fire type around ,Charizard is my fav Pokemon so I started the team with it ^_^.

006-mega-y.png
248.png

Charizard is weak to Pokemons like Latios and Talonflame ,so I added this mon this monster gives my team awesome support and great Power.

Now I needed something to get rid of hazards and a good sweeper,Excadrill is my choice it has high atk stats and speed is also boosted in sand.

A stealth rock setter was still needed,so I added Clefable to counter dragon types which I am weak 2.

Keldeo synergies very well with this core ,so I added keldeo to deal with pokemons like Gyarados,Chansey , Bisharp etc.

My team was still weak to bulky waters and sand and I had no Scald switch-in , so TheEnder suggested this mon to me , this mon is an awesome tank and can take alot of scalds.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost

The Star of the team and the best fire type, its role is late game cleaner and wallbreaker, Modest Nature gives it the sheer Power ,while Flamethrower is very accurate,Modest solar beam ohkos a lot of stuffs like Terrakoin which has chance to ohko in Timid Nature,Focus blast helps against Tyranitar and Heatran while roost provides the much needed recovery.

tyranitar.gif

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Crunch

The Second team member and the pursuit trapper , I had added banded ttar but later changed to scarfed set as it helps me to deal with lati@s and gengar both , that banded set stands a 50/50 chance fearing Gengar also scarfed set helps to stop Latias from using healing wish. Crunch is a Powerful stab move which helps to kill Psychic types while banded stone edge 2hko's almost everything which isn't resisted to it,Pursuit is used for trapping psychics , the last moveslot is used to deal with opposing ttars and Heatran more effeciently.

excadrill.gif

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
- Rapid Spin

The 3rd Mon ,ye its our trusty Excadrill I use Balloon on drill because my team is kinda weak to lando-t,I prefer Adamant because I already get a balloon so I have an advantage against other jolly Excadrills. Earthquake is the stab move and it destroys everything in excadrill's way(I am not serious :p),Iron head help this team to deal with fairy type Pokemon while rapid spin is there for removing hazards and swords dance is used to late game sweep it as ttar can deal with flying spam decently.

clefable.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
The fourth member of the team and the stealth rock setter ,this eve allows clefabke to counter non NP thundurus,Moon blast is the stab which helps to deal with fragile dragons and Garchomp(its quite bulky :p),Stealth rock is important to weaken opposing team while t wave paralyses the pokemon and makes the job easier for my slow mons I.e. Charizard and Ttar ,I use t wave when I predicts a switch-in and soft boiled gives clefable the much needed recovery ^_^.

keldeo.gif

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Electric]
Keldeo synergies awesome with Charizard scarf helps this core to faint sacrfed lando-t,well scald can't ohko lando-t ,but still it does like 96% or more while hydro pump can ohko,Specs gives Keldeo the much needed power ,Secret Sword hits pokemon on defense which is a very cool thing,Hydro Pump is the main stab which faints almost anything which serperior and cahrizard can't check,The role of keldeo is to switch-out and hit with the most appropriate move according to the situation, while hp electric helps to check slowbro(which is a common switch-in) and Gyarados as gyara is a threat for this team.

tangrowth.gif

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 4 SpA / 196 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Giga Drain

Tangrowth gives my team a sturdy resist to Water-type attacks, and a excellent check to physical attackers, such as the aforementioned Bisharp and Mega Gyarados. It is also capable of handling opposing sand teams, which are quite troublesome for my team to deal with otherwise. . The Sleep Powder set is actually capable of neutering Mega Metagross, but it struggles a bit more with Keldeo.

Serperior.gif

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Dragon Pulse
- Glare

Thanx for your time and have a great day ^_^.

Hey Charilax Blaster, looks like a pretty standard Zard Y team with dual weather. I don't think the team requires any major changes pokemon-wise but I would like to make a couple suggestions to clean up some sets.

Because the stated goal of Zard Y is 'wall-breaker' I would recommend using fire blast over flame thrower. I know the accuracy drop is annoying, but the boost in power is quite noticeable, especially with the sun active. I can't think of any calcs off the top of my head that illustrate the difference but I'll edit them in if I think of them.

Tyranitar's banded set is also designed to be a wall-breaker, which is somewhat redundant due to the use of Zard Y. Further, because you mostly intend to use it as a pursuit trapper, the scarf set would tend to fit the role better, allowing Ttar to reach a speed of 365, outspeeding relevant threats such as Starmie, Lati@s, and Gengar. I know you've considered the scarf set and dismissed it, but in this case I think its preferable.

I would also recommend using Icy Wind over HP Electric on Keldeo because you lack Ice coverage, useful against the rampant Dragon and Ground mons in the tier. HP Electric is usually used to help deal with bulky waters, threats that are better covered by your Serperior.

Finally, while Glare is a valid option on Serperior due to its lack of a decent 3rd coverage move, I would recommend using your choice of Giga Drain/Taunt/Substitute in that move slot. I'm not entirely sure if how you're using Serperior and am therefore not entirely able to suggest which one is best, but Giga will improve Serperior's longevity, especially useful with the life orb, and still does decent damage after a couple of Leaf Storm boosts; Taunt improves your match up against stall teams, and sub allows you to set up on predicted switches or predicted status moves, helping to ensure a sweep.

I don't think any of the changes I've listed above are absolutely essential, but I do think they'll make your team just that much better. Happy battling!

Hey man cool team the zard-y builds are always pretty solid! Here's an RMT that beautifully explains builds with zard-y if you interested. While a bit outdated it still shows how to build a pretty solid zard-y team and it is not too difficult to make the necessary adjustments for the oras metagame. Anyways on to your team I think you should change ttar to scarf>band. While band is still a pretty good option I feel that the speed from scarf tar is necessary in effectively trapping it's targets and preventing them from getting off last minute defogs or healing wishes etc. The team does not really struggle with more defensively oriented teams by nature of the build so the extra speed from scar tar would be much appreciated here. Scarf tar also alleviates some of the pressure on keld to check bisharp and having a secondary answer to bisharp is always a good thing since I can't tell you how many teams I've seen a bisharp over-power keldeo and cause problems for said team.

I would also change serperior for np pass celebi. If you look at your team you really have nothing that can reliably switch into keldeo without risking being hit by a move that does massive damage and it can easily come in on ttar, your keldeo locked into a water move, or other various situations to do damage. For this reason I decided to add celebi over serp so you have a solid answer to keld and azumarill as it threatened the team as well. With nasty pass you keep a stall breaker and this also serves as a secondary win con since celebi can pass into scarf keld or zard-y for nasty results.

The team looks pretty solid hope I helped! I'll leave the changes in the tab below.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Baton Pass
- Recover
- Giga Drain

Guys , I thought band is better due to its bulk but if u guys think that scarf is better I surely gonna try it , Serp over Celebi makes sense , but if I remove serp I have to keep HP electric on keldeo I think :3....

P.S. Thanks a lot :]…

crispy sand offence and the only suggestion i would have is to change tar to the standard scarf trapper set and change keldeo to specs which gives you another wall breaker for exca to clean. overall very solid team gl with it.

Hey there, really cool and solid-looking team you got here. Mega Charizard Y is definitely underrated, and I'm glad to see people have started using it more frequently in the past few weeks. Firstly, I wholeheartedly agree with Mur on his first point: Since Lati@s, as well as Gengar and Mega Metagross, are huge threats to your team, running Choice Scarf over Choice Band on Tyranitar would be improve the team's performance. Like Mur explained, you significantly lower the amount of free turns you give to Lati@s and other offensively inclined Pokemon, and you don't have to rely on setting sand, then going Excadrill to handle threats like Mega Pinsir and Nasty Plot Thundurus. Making this change doesn't completely solve the weakness to Mega Metagross, though, and the team is still very weak to Keldeo. Mur suggested you run Celebi over Serperior, which makes a lot of sense, but I think that would put too much pressure on Keldeo to handle stuff like Mega Gyarados and Bisharp. Therefore I urge you to try running Tangrowth over Serperior. Tangrowth gives your team a sturdy resist to Water-type attacks, and a excellent check to physical attackers, such as the aforementioned Bisharp and Mega Gyarados. It is also capable of handling opposing sand teams, which are quite troublesome for your team to deal with otherwise. If you decide to make this change, you can use both Assault Vest and the Sleep Powder set. I think my presonal preference here is the Sleep Powder set, as it is actually capable of neutering Mega Metagross, but it struggles a bit more with Keldeo.

However, making these changes takes away two of the team's powerhouses, which means breaking bulkier cores gets harder. To somewhat alleviate this, I suggest you run Swords Dance over Rock Slide on Excadrill and Choice Specs over Choice Scarf on Keldeo. Between Choice Scarf Tyranitar and Clefable your team already handles most Flying-types nicely, and Swords Dance + Air Balloon allows Excadrill to break through SR setters like Hippowdon and Landorus-T, making is much harder to pressure Mega Charizard Y. Additionally, it makes it much harder for Mega Sableye to spin-block Excadrill. Running Choice Specs Keldeo gives your team a way of actually breaking full stall, as Charizard alone kind of struggles to do so. With Tangrowth, Landorus-T and Mega Lopunny are less dangerous, and you don't need a way of revengekilling them that badly. That was all I had, really, hope I helped :)
