Child Prodigies (Peaked #8 on Smogon LC Ladder)

ChildProdigies.png

This team was to go with the unbanning of Gligar, Misdreavus, and Murkrow. This unbanning has been screwing over my past teams. Well I believe that they should be taken down a notch. THEY. ARE. GOING. DOWN. The child prodigies of this cup of Littleness will show no mercy. ENJOY THIS RMT.

*Special Thanks to Ray Jay for being execptionally awesome and helping build this team.*

THE BANE OF THE UNBANNED

Scraggy.jpg

100 (Scraggy) (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 212 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Dragon Dance
- Drain Punch
- Crunch

*100 used Dragon Dance!*
*Missy, Krow, and Gligar got screwed*

Yes, Scraggy with Ice Punch after a Dragon Dance is amazing. The worst that they can do after a Dragon Dance is Misdreavus' HP Fighting, but thanks to Eviolite, it doesn't do that much. Drain Punch isn't no Hi Jump Kick, but it provides reilable healing. Crunch is another alterative STAB, that works amazing with Drain Punch, since it kills those Ghost-Types like Missy, and Gastly. It also pwns them Psychic types like Slowpoke. Ice Punch is the crux of the set, since it hits Murkrow and Gligar for super effecitve damage. Shed Skin is amazing when it comes to dealing with Willo-Wisp users, that try and to cripple Scraggy.

The Dark Sorcery That was Never Meant to be

gligar_by_shikathefox-d32nigo.jpg

DarkSorcery (Gligar) (M) @ Yache Berry
Trait: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 228 HP / 76 Atk / 204 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Acrobatics

This Dark Sorcery is almost scary. When you think Little Cup and Gligar, you think Acrobat Gligar. Defenive Gligar is a tad odd, but it works. The idea behind this Gligar is to stall out the opponent, until the obvious ice type move comes, gets weakened by Yache Berry, and then it startes doign Acrobatics everywhere. This is a very wierd set, and thats why its amazing. Nobody expects it. Then gets frugged.

OH NO TEAM ROCKETZ BLASTIN OFF AGAIN

Chinchou_by_Toonfreak.jpg

DbleTrble (Chinchou) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 52 Def / 232 SAtk / 220 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Volt Switch
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Scarfed Chinchou is so strongth. It hits 22 speed, which is amazing. Surf is a reliable STAB. It may not be as powerful as Hydro Pump, but Surf always hits. Volt Switch keeps the momentum going, and gives another STAB, and unlocks the effects of the Choice Scarf by switching. Ice Beam hits them bulky grass types, like Cottonee and Shroomish. It also hits Gligar for that 4x weakness. Hidden Power Fire is basically a precaution when dealing with Steel Types. Chinchou has proven to be amazing, with its ability to keep momentum going, which it wittles done Misdreavus, with constant Volt Switches and kills Gligar and Murkrow with Surf/Ice Beam or Volt Switch respectivly.

The Deadly Night Shade

images

Squishy (Croagunk) (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 52 HP / 188 Atk / 116 Def / 116 SDef / 36 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Toxic

Squishy, and deadly? Yush madame, Crougunk is pwnizator (Did I really just say that?) Crougunk's prioirty powers have won me many matches. It also holds my team together, as it checks dem big Scraggy's with Ice Punch, and those Clampearls that just give it some moisturizing cream. Yes, Croagunk is a male fashion model. Fake Out breaks those Sashes and kill those pokes with likev 3 HP. Toxic iis essesntial, as it hits Murkrow, Gligar and especially Misdreavus, limiting there time to try and sweep.

That Bronzor

436___bronzor_by_winter_freak-d35nghe.jpg

Ke$ha (Bronzor) @ Oran Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 220 HP / 8 Atk / 152 Def / 4 SAtk / 68 SDef / 56 Spd
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earthquake

Tick Tock on the clock :P Bronzor is mainly here for Stealth Rocks and being a bulky wall. Earthquake and HP Ice have good coverage, but Bronzor's attack is pathetic. Toxic is good for bulky walls. Oran Berry is Bronzor's only recovery besides Rest. It really catches some people off guard. Not much to say, exept that walls so many things, like Gligar and Murkrow and the rise of Shellder. Speaking of which...

That Underrated Bane of the Unbanned

Shellder_Soup_by_ShellderNoob.jpg

SeaShells (Shellder) (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 Def / 196 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Shell Smash
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast

Man, nobody apprieciates the awesome power of Smash Shellder. Shellder. Is. God. Nah just kidding, but really, shellder is amazing. With Eviolite, Shellder's Def goes up to 25, and thats with not that much into DEF. That's so amazing. Shellder's Ability Skill Link and Rock Blast and Icicle Spear is the ends all Substitue sets. Shell Smash makes Shellder avery very hard to destroy. Speed hitting 28, which outspeeds all Choice Scarfers, exept for Diglett, but if your using Scarfed Diglett, you have problems. Icicle Spear with Skill Link makes it's base power hit 187.5 with STAB included. Rock Blast is for coverage, which hits Base 125 Power with Skill Link. The crux of the set, Ice Shard, kills many unsepecting Murkrow when they want to Sucker Punch, but since Sucker Punch and Ice Shard have the same priority, Shell Smash makes it outspeed, and kills that stupid Murkrow. Shellder with a broken shell will make you have nightmares.

Dem Past Members
Diglett_Monster_by_TheOnlyBaconTree.jpg

WhackAMole (Diglett) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Sucker Punch
- Shadow Claw

Hope you enjoyed this RMT. And as my good mentor and friend, PureTrainer once said,

"Fuck Missy"

EDIT:
New Peak: (14:50:11) *** Your rank in Standard LC is 6/2963 [1273 points / 65 battles]!

Threats that haven't been analysised are gonna be in BLACK

Minor threats are gonna be in GREEN

Moderate threats are gonna be in BLUE

Major Threats are gonna be in RED

Offensive Threats

dpiconani170.gif
Chinchou — Chinchou can be a bit annoying to deal with. Diglett can trap Scarfed ones that are locked into volt switch, and Scraggy doesn't take taht much damage from its STAB's adn can set up a few Dragon Dances, and kill it.
dpiconani366.gif
Clamperl
— I hate Clampearl. It is really hard for any team to check. Shellder will win a Smash War against it, but if Clampearl sets up a Smash before it, it's GG. If it runs HP Fire, Chinchou can come in, take a hit and kill with Volt Switch.
Ani554MS.png
Darumaka
— Haven't battled one yet.
dpiconani084.gif
Doduo — Look Above
dpiconani147.gif
Dratini
Dratini's attacks are easliy sponged, so i don't have to worry about it
Ani529MS.png
Drilbur
— Standard Drilbur isn't that big of a threat, due to Gligar and Bronzor, but ones with HP ICE. Ugh, why do wierd sets need to be so good D:, but is still easily walled by Bronzor.
dpiconani239.gif
Elekid
Elekid isn't that big of a problem because Chinchou and Diglett take dem Electric hits (also Gligar but HP Ice still hurts even with Yache Berry)

GLIGAR - With right prediction, Gligar can rip through my team. Chinchou can help with being faster and hitting it with Ice Beam. Bronzor can also come in, and sponge it's hits and hit it with HP Ice

dpiconani228.gif
Houndour
— Haven't seen one, but it doesn't seem like a threats.
dpiconani081.gif
Magnemite
Magnemite, outside of the acursed Air Balloon + Magnet Rise set, isn't that big of the of a threat. Diglett cann kill it with EQ, Gligar can hit it with EQ also, Chinchou can sponge it's hits all day, and Scraggy can come in and hit it with SE Fighting Drain Punch.
dpiconani052.gif
Meowth
— Never seen one
Ani619MS.png
Mienfoo
Mienfoo can do serious damage to my team, outside of Gligar, which can hit it with Acrobatics (even better if it has HP ice).

MISDREAVUS - Scraggy can take a hit, DD and kill it with Crunch. If Shellder has a SS up, it can easily kill the SUb Sets.

MURKROW - Murkrow almsot always comes in after Shellder's SS, and dies to an Ice Shard.

dpiconani077.gif
Ponyta
— Never seen one
dpiconani137.gif
Porygon
— Look above
Ani559MS.png
ScraggyScraggy can be a problem, my best bet is to do some damage with Chinchou, or surving a hit with Shellder and killing it with Icicle Spear
dpiconani459.gif
Snover
— Interestingly I've havent seen one yet.
dpiconani434.gif
Stunky
— Look above
dpiconani276.gif
Taillow — Looke above once again
Ani532MS.png
Timburr
Timburr isn't that seen that often, but its walled by Gligar.
Ani629MS.png
Vullaby
— Haven't seen one.
dpiconani360.gif
Wynaut
— Look above

Defensive Threats

dpiconani436.gif
Bronzor
Dang. I don't have any way to effectivly damage this bastard. My best bet is to attack it for daamge with Chinchou or get a few DD's up with Scraggy, and attack it.
Ani546MS.png
Cottonee
— Havent seen one.
Ani557MS.png
Dwebble
Chinchou takes care of this guy, even with sturdy
Ani597MS.png
Ferroseed
Basically set up fodder for Shellder and Scraggy, but can be annoying by setting up Spikes
Ani592MS.png
Frillish
— Haven't seen one yet

GLIGAR - Haven't seen another Defensive Gligar yet.

dpiconani449.gif
Hippopotas
Since my team is mostly physical, this guy walls alot of my team. Best bet is to just keep damaging it.
dpiconani345.gif
Lileep
Lileep is also liek Ferroseed, but wallign my Chinchou, but being set up fodder for Scraggy.
dpiconani446.gif
Munchlax
— Haven't seen one.
Ani619MS.png
Mienfoo — Bulky versions of Mienfoo act like normal mienfoo, but takes longer to kill, especially with Regenerator.

MISDREAVUS - Haven't seen a Defensive Missy set.

MURKROW - Prankster Krow is really more of an annoyance than anything, just stalling for PP, and Life Orb Damage on Diglett

dpiconani299.gif
Nosepass
— Haven't Seen one
dpiconani137.gif
Porygon
— Look above
Ani616MS.png
Shelmet
— Look above again
dpiconani079.gif
Slowpoke
— Slowpoke is very annoying, as it walls alot of my team and takign only about ~%50 from a Chinchou Volt Switch.
dpiconani072.gif
Tentacool
— Mostly just set up fodder, but i hate it because it killed Scraggy by Liquid Oooze D:
Ani629MS.png
Vullaby
— Haven't seen one

Highly defensive Pokemon, albeit it is little cup, bit of an overstatement, such as Koffing and Bronzor, will probably drive this team crazy, as the former gets both Will-O-Wisp and Clear Smog, rendering Scraggy, Diglett, Gligar, and Shellder, more so Shellder because of Scraggy's Shed Skin, useless, as the hazing and burns will most likely shut them down. Bronzor's just Bronzor, walling basically 80% of LC effectively, and adding to the chipping of damage.

Overall, it's a very well built team.

Well, walls like that I just have to deal wiht by wittling down it's HP, but yeah, there annoying.

Is funny that you have put the biggest threats of the metagame in red, and some you haven't (like NP Missy or SubKrow) really give your team trouble. Btw, Ice Punch scraggy outright 6-0s you. And don't say elekid is not a threat for the team because they run hp grass. I think you should run another scarfer to check better those threats (like Mienfoo) over shellder or chinchou... GL

So if we're honest yeah this is p much my team. I kid, I kid. (But seriously)

In terms of Croagunk, you may want to change it to a mixed set, just because right now Houndour can cause major problems late game as can Tirtouga and Omanyte (who resist Fake Out). I would consider Fake Out / Sucker Punch / Vacuum Wave / Dark Pulse, as this gives you another Misdreavus check as well (seeing as your set hates Will-O-Wisp right now, a lot).

Also, consider Hydro Pump on Scarf Chinchou, since it appreciates the damage output late game and Volt Switch is already reliable STAB and an accurate move to pwn Gligar. If you're still scared, Thunderbolt can go in that last slot for secondary accurate STAB.

Finally, Bronzor wants Eviolite soooooo bad. Otherwise, SD AcroBat Gligar will basically destroy your whole team if it gets behind a sub (Chinchou can't use Ice Beam through the Sub, SD Acro has a chance to OHKO Evioliteless Bronzor )

Good point on Croagunk, makes sensev anyways.

I was thinking about Hydro Pump, but knoing my luck it misses all 8 uses :P

Maybe, usually Gligar doesn't have time to set up a SD, but you make a good point. Just that that Oran Berry is SO useful. But I digress.
