Choice Item Attacker (Chi-Yu) @ Choice Specs / Choice Scarf

Chi-Yu is a phenomenal glass cannon; it has a strong offensive typing and good Special Attack, aided by its ability. These qualities along with proper speed control allow it to pressure common metagame Pokemon including both Calyrex formes, Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Zamazenta-C. Snarl threatens a common Restricted core that revolves around redirection—Calyrex and Clefairy—and it can be used to chip away and weaken the damage output of bulkier specially offensive threats like Raging Bolt and Terapagos. On the other hand, Tera Blast is tailored to the Choice Scarf set, which commonly runs Tera Ground to threaten large amounts of damage to Miraidon, Raging Bolt, and Incineroar. Choice Specs allows Chi-Yu to pick up OHKOs on Pokemon like Assault Vest Rillaboom and Calyrex-I with Heat Wave and bulky Pelipper with Dark Pulse. Choice Scarf enables Chi-Yu to outspeed common fast metagame staples such as Chien-Pao, Calyrex-S, and Flutter Mane without Protosynthesis Speed activated. The defensive investment guarantees that Chi-Yu survives Surging Strikes and Tera Water Aqua Jet from Urshifu-R when Chi-Yu has used Tera Ghost, High Horsepower from most Assault Vest Rillaboom, and Tera Starstorm from Terapagos-S at +2. The Speed EVs allow Chi-Yu to outspeed maximum Speed Adamant Urshifu formes, and it also outspeeds Caylrex-S if running Choice Scarf. Special Attack EVs allow Choice Scarf Chi-Yu to threaten OHKOs on Miraidon with Tera Blast Ground and Ogerpon-H with Overheat. Tera Ghost is absolutely necessary for Choice Specs Chi-Yu because it can avoid Fake Out and Fighting-type moves like Body Press from Zamazenta-C. However, Choice Scarf Chi-Yu is often able to run Tera Ground instead for Tera Blast to pressure certain Pokemon like Miraidon and Raging Bolt.

Incineroar completely walls Chi-Yu and is able to pivot in and out with Parting Shot, while Urshifu-R is able to simply tank a hit and OHKO Chi-Yu. Kyogre and Pelipper are also definite Chi-Yu answers, as they weaken its Fire-type moves with Drizzle and can retaliate with an OHKO with Water Spout or Origin Pulse and Weather Ball, respectively. Chi-Yu has a plethora of great partners; Choice Specs Terapagos and Miraidon both take great advantage of the power boost provided by Beads of Ruin and are able to pressure Pokemon like Kyogre and Incineroar. Koraidon is another good partner for it because it sets up the sun, overriding rain from Pelipper and Kyogre and boosting Chi-Yu's Fire-type attacks. This also mitigates its weakness to Water-type moves, aiding in Chi-Yu's matchup against the aforementioned threats. Chi-Yu can also function by itself with speed control from Prankster Tailwind setters like Whimsicott and Tornadus, which can also set up the sun.

great work overall!
Choiced Attacker (Chi-Yu) @ Choice Specs / Choice Scarf (needs a name to upload)
Ability: Beads of Ruin
Level: 50

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Snarl / Tera Blast (add spaces in between moves and slashes)

Chi-Yu is a phenomenal glass cannon; although quite frail on the physical side, (kinda just what a glass cannon is) it has a strong offensive typing and solid good special attack stat, aided by its ability. These qualities along with proper speed control allow it to pressure common metagame Pokemon including Calyrex-Shadow, Zacian-Crowned, Rillaboom, Amoonguss, Zamazenta-Crowned, and Calyrex-Ice. Snarl threatens certain restricted cores that revolve around redirection, for example, Calyrex-Shadow and Clefairy or Necrozma-Dawn-Wings and Indeedee (would remove this not superr relevant), and it can be used to chip away at (add that it chips away at mons while reducing sp.atk or smth) bulky specially offensive threats like Raging Bolt. On the other hand, Tera Blast is tailored to the scarf set, which commonly runs Tera Ground to threaten large amounts of damage to Miraidon, Raging Bolt, and Incineroar. Choice Scarf enables Chi-Yu to outspeed the common fast metagame staples such as Chien-Pao, Calyrex-Shadow (add hyphon), and non-Booster Energy Flutter Mane. Choice Specs allows Chi-Yu to pick up OHKOs on Pokemon like Assault Vest Rillaboom, Calyrex-Ice, and Bulky Zacian-Crowned with Heat Wave or Pokemon like Shadow Shielded Lunala and Bulky Pelipper with Dark Pulse. (feels like too many examples you can just put rilla+caly-I+pelli or smth)
The defensive portion of the EV spread is meant to guarantee live Tera Water Aqua Jet from Urshifu-Rapid, Surging Strikes when Chi-Yu Tera Terastallizes to Ghost, High Horsepower from 116+ most Assault Vest (not sure on this one but you don't have to mention the specific stat) Rillaboom, and Tera Starstorm from Terapagos-Terastal at +2. The speed EVs allow Chi-Yu to hit 150 speed, which outspeeds Adamant, max speed Urshifu. For the scarf set, this is especially important because this allows it to outspeed Calyrex-Shadow. The rest of the EVs are in special attack to ensure that Chi-Yu is maintaining high damage output, with specifically the The special attack allows the Choice Scarf scarf set threatening OHKOs on Miraidon with Tera Blast Ground and Ogerpon-Hearthflame with Overheat. Tera Ghost is absolutely necessary for Choiced Chi-Yu because it needs a way to avoid Fake Out spam, plus, it can be used to avoid a fighting move like Body Press from Zamazenta. However, there are instances (majority at LA were ground) where the scarf Chi-Yu set is able to run Tera Ground instead to pressure certain mons as aforementioned. (miraidon is the main reason for tera ground here, freely alllows it to discharge; also combine these into 1 paragraph)

Chi-Yu does have its rough matchups, namely in types that resist its stabs. (unnesescary) Incineroar completely walls Chi-Yu and is able to pivot in and out against Chi-Yu as a result, (maybe mention how pshot hinders its attack) while Urshifu-Rapid is able to simply tank a hit and pick up the OHKO. Kyogre and Pelipper are also definite Chi-Yu answers as they weaken Chi-Yu's Fire-type moves with Drizzle and can retaliate with an OHKO. (mention what moves they ohko w/) Ironically, sash Focus Sash Chien-Pao also beats (vgc isn't really a 1v1 so not really) Chi-Yu since it can KO with Sacred Sword or Sucker Punch if Chi-Yu tries to Tera Ghost. Chi-Yu has a plethora of great partners; Specs Terapagos and Miraidon are both perfect examples as they both take great advantage of the power boost and have the potential to sweep in the right position. Koraidon is another good partner for it because it sets up the sun to boost Chi-Yu's Fire-type attacks and mitigate its weakness to Water-type moves. (mention how koraidon and miraidon counter 4/5 of the previous checks) Chi-Yu can also function by itself with speed control from Tailwind setters like Whimsicott and Tornadus who can also set up the sun as well.
