A combination of excellent Special Attack, high Speed, Psychic Surge, Expanding Force, and good coverage allows Choice Specs Azelf to function as a powerful threat that can OHKO many of the tier's dangerous offensive threats and sweep weakened teams with ease. Knock Off lets Azelf reliably 2HKO RegenVest Manaphy with Expanding Force and cripple switch-ins such as Empoleon, Heatran, and RegenVest Hisuian Goodra, while U-turn allows Azelf to pivot out of the aforementioned switch-ins. Dazzling Gleam threatens an OHKO on RegenVest Roaring Moon after a Knock Off and 2HKOes Mandibuzz. Trick can be used instead to more permanently cripple defensive switch-ins such as Blissey, Empoleon, and Mandibuzz, while Flamethrower can be used to threaten Steel-types, allowing Azelf to OHKO Kingambit and 2HKO Corviknight. Choice Specs allows Azelf to threaten an OHKO against Pokemon such as Dragonite, Primordial Sea Zapdos, and non-specially defensive Garchomp. Azelf pairs up well with fast and frail offensive Pokemon such as Barraskewda, Meowscarada, and Hisuian Electrode, as they appreciate the Psychic Terrain Azelf sets up. Azelf also appreciates pivots such as the previously mentioned teammates, Galarian Zapdos, and Roaring Moon, as they help pressure switch-ins such as Empoleon, Heatran, and RegenVest Hisuian Goodra, while also forming a VoltTurn core with Azelf to generate momentum. Defensive teammates such as Corviknight, RegenVest Manaphy, and Kommo-o are appreciated as they can check the faster threats that force Azelf out such as Roaring Moon, Meowscarada, and Chien-Pao. Pokemon that can remove the entry hazards Azelf is prone to, such as the aforementioned Corviknight, make great teammates as well.

Dazzling Gleam threatens an OHKO on RegenVest Roaring Moon after a Knock Off, Trick can be used to more permanently cripple switch-ins <-- be specific here, if you trick a specs onto heatran then thats not really crippling it but if you trick a specs onto bliss thats crippling, while Flamethrower can be used to threaten an OHKO against Kingambit and a 2HKO against Corviknight rephrase this to say that it hits steel types, then add the calcs . A Choice Specs allows Azelf to threaten an OHKO against Pokemon such as Dragonite, Primordial Sea Zapdos, and non specially defensive Garchomp. Azelf pairs up well with fast and frail offensive Pokemon such as Barraskewda, Meowscarada, and Walking Wake wake isnt that "fast" rn, neither is it very frail so you could add helec or pao here maybe, as they appreciate the Psychic Terrain Azelf sets up. Azelf also appreciates teammates pivots such as the previosuly mentioned teammates, Galarian Zapdos, and Roaring Moon, as they help pressure switch-ins such as Empoleon, Heatran, and RegenVest Hisuian Goodra, while also forming a VoltTurn core with Azelf with the momentum they generate. Defensive teammates such as Corviknight, who can remove the entry hazards that Azelf is prone to, RegenVest Manaphy, and Kommo-o are appreciated as they can check the faster threats that force Azelf out such as Roaring Moon, Meowscarada, and Chien-Pao.
