Civic Literacy Test

This is a test meant to gauge a person's knowledge of certain aspects of US history, politics, and economy. It's done by a group who created it to research the "civic literacy" (how well you know your country's history and political system, essentially) of college students. The results are interesting, not only because of the low scores but mainly because of one somewhat disturbing fact: in several schools, the freshmen scored HIGHER than the seniors. It's a little sad that this many colleges no longer have a core curriculum, and that so many people have so little knowledge of the US's history.
linky dinky
See how well you do. Remember that this is aimed at college students, but even with my somewhat meagre knowledge (1 year of a 2-part AP history course in high school) the questions are not really that difficult, they just encompass a great deal of information. In fact, I would go so far as to say anyone who has taken and remembers a college level history course should have no trouble with this. Feel free to post scores and how much history you have taken. Don't worry, the test is not that long (60 multiple choice), 20 minutes at the absolute max.
I got a 76.67%, which I was very happy with as the first year of my course only covered up to the Civil War.
Any non-Americans, take the test if you want, for kicks. There's some stuff you probably wouldn't know but some of the later questions about economics and modern politics, you probably know.

52/60. i was a poli sci major, so that helped. plus a lot of it is pretty common sense. process of elimination leaves you with a 50/50 choice on just about every question.

I found it pretty hard!

Ok but one of these I actually got right but clicked the wrong button or something..

Have a nice day.

49/60 81%, I took AP Econ/Gov in my senior year of High school, and got a 4 and 5 on the AP tests. I'm sure I would've gotten higher if I was right at the end of class, and was not partially distracted by my Philosophy class that i'm typing in right now.

Not bad, considering I got a 4 on the AP US History test in 10th grade, have only taken an Economics class since, and have no knowledge on philosophers.

59/60, who the fuck knows who the Baath are and why they would support Hussein? oh, i took AP US history and AP Gov in high school and got 5's on both.

History has always been one of my favorite subjects; I absolutely bombed on the stuff related to economics though.

btw I took AP US History, AP World, AP US Government, and AP Comparative Government, got 5, 4, 4, and 5 respectively

The question of why democracy leads to well-ordered government in America when disorder prevails in Europe is central to:

is this saying that democracy doesn't work in europe? or did i misunderstand it, but it seems like a strange question. sorry if i am being stupid

Why are there so many questions about Plato? As far as I know none of his ideas were/are applied to our government. In fact, Plato stringently argued against democracy in The Republic. Good thing I had to read that for Philosophy 101. Anyway, I got 45/60.
