Overview
########

Clefable rose to stardom in XY, and it has since been a dominant force in the balanced playstyle. Boasting a good defensive typing in Fairy, which leaves it weak only to Steel- and Poison-types, coupled with two stellar abilities in Magic Guard and Unaware, Clefable is extremely versatile and capable of fulfilling many different roles on a team. In addition, Clefable's decent bulk lets it take on many threatening Pokemon such as Mega Sableye, Mega Altaria, Mega Manectric, Kyurem-B, Breloom, and Mega Lopunny. Its diverse movepool, consisting of plenty of utility and support moves, includes Calm Mind, Knock Off, Heal Bell, Encore, Thunder Wave, and Stealth Rock. Last but not least, Clefable is one of the best Stealth Rock users in the tier, as it can get past nearly all Rapid Spin users and Defoggers such as Starmie, Skarmory, and Mandibuzz.

However, ORAS brought Mega Metagross and Mega Beedrill, as well as surges in usage for Mega Scizor, Talonflame, Reuniclus, and stallbreaker Gliscor, making Clefable's life harder. Moreover, Clefable is shut down easily by Taunt, and without any Calm Mind boosts, it is relatively weak. Clefable's bulk is also quite underwhelming in practice, making it unable to check Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Gallade repeatedly.

Calm Mind + Magic Guard

name: Calm Mind + Magic Guard
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Flamethrower / Thunder Wave
ability: Magic Guard
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
nature: Calm

Moves
========

Calm Mind boosts Clefable’s Special Attack and Special Defense stat, making it both powerful and bulky. Moonblast is Clefable's obligatory STAB move and hits extremely hard after just a few Calm Mind boosts. Soft-Boiled gives Clefable much-needed longevity on the field, enabling it to check threats with much more ease. Lastly, Flamethrower deals with the Steel-types that resist Moonblast, such as Scizor and Excadrill. However, Thunder Wave is a great utility move in general that can cripple many of Clefable's checks, including Talonflame, Scizor, and Mega Metagross.
Focus Blast can also be considered for its ability to hit Heatran and Chansey, two of the biggest checks to Clefable. Ice Beam is an alternate option to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor after a boost, which would otherwise check Clefable; however, Clefable misses out on Steel-types such as Scizor as a result.

Set Details
========

Leftovers increases Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better. The given Special Defense and HP investment along with a Calm nature allow Clefable to, most of the time, avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-B's Ice Beam, Thundurus's Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. The given Defense and HP investment allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios's Psyshock, and Jolly Mega Gyarados's Waterfall, as well as the OHKO from Choice Band Scizor's Bullet Punch.

Magic Guard prevents Clefable from being worn down by statuses and continual switches with entry hazards on the field. As a result, Clefable is incredibly hard to wear down. Running Speed investment is perfectly fine, allowing Clefable to outspeed opposing Clefable, Azumarill, Skarmory, Tyranitar, and Sylveon, but it will lose out on the defensive benchmarks above.
If using a Life Orb, it is also impossible for Clefable to reach similar defensive benchmarks to those of this set, so an EV spread of 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpA with a Bold nature can be used to 2HKO Chansey with Moonblast most of the time at +6, allowing Clefable to stallbreak much more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can be pivoted into relatively weak attacks, such as Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt and Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but keep in mind that it cannot switch into incredibly powerful moves such as Choice Band Azumarill's Play Rough. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also be pivoted into status moves from passive Pokemon, such as Alomomola and Rotom-W, which Clefable can easily pivot into and set up on. Clefable fits best on balanced teams that need a good sweeper, as it glues the team together with its ability to check a wide range of foes. Use Calm Mind on foes that aren't particularly threatening to Clefable, such as Thundurus, Rotom-W, and Slowbro, or on predicted switches against the likes of Mega Lopunny and Mega Altaria. However, keep this in mind, don't get too greedy with Calm Mind boosts, or else Clefable might get struck by a critical hit and it is game over. If a switch into a Fire-weak Steel-types such as Scizor or Mega Metagross is obvious, it is better to use Flamethrower as opposed to Calm Mind to weaken the check. Use Soft-Boiled to keep Clefable healthy and in a good position, which lets it set up more easily.

Team Options
========

Because Fire-types such as Heatran, Talonflame, and Mega Charizard Y are amongst the greatest checks to Clefable, Pokemon that can easily deal with them are great partners for Clefable. Relatively bulky Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types such as Keldeo, Suicune, Excadrill, and Tyranitar are great teammates to weaken or eliminate Fire-types for Clefable. In addition, Magnezone helps eliminate Steel-types that trouble Clefable, such as Scizor, with ease. A Choice Scarf set is preferred so that Magnezone can soften up faster Steel-types such as Excadrill, Heatran, and Mega Metagross. Heatran, similarly, is a great teammate for Clefable; it resists the Poison-, Fire-, and Steel-type attacks that Clefable has trouble with while also providing much-valued Stealth Rock support. Heatran also checks Talonflame and Mega Charizard X lacking Earthquake. Lures for various Clefable checks such as specially defensive Gliscor and Heatran are valued. Pokemon such as Icy Wind Gengar and Apicot Berry Jirachi are good choices for these roles, but remember not to reveal them too early.

Stealth Rock Setter
########
name: Stealth Rock Setter
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Thunder Wave / Fire Blast
move 4: Soft-Boiled
ability: Magic Guard
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
nature: Calm

Moves
========

Clefable is one of the best Stealth Rock users, as it can get past most Rapid Spin and Defog users bar Tentacruel and Excadrill. Stealth Rock is a great support move, punishing switches and deterring Fire-type Pokemon such as Talonflame from switching in and checking Clefable. Moonblast is the main STAB move and deals with the plethora of Dark-, Dragon-, and Fighting-types in the tier. Thunder Wave is an excellent utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Gengar, Mega Metagross, and Mega Charizard X and Y by slowing them down. Fire Blast is an option over Thunder Wave; it allows Clefable to muscle past Steel-types and a few Defoggers and spinners such as Skarmory and Excadrill. It is chosen over Flamethrower for the increased damage output as well as its ability to OHKO non-Mega Scizor 100% of the time. Lastly, Soft-Boiled is compulsory, keeping Clefable healthy to be able to set up Stealth Rock when needed throughout the match.
Knock Off is a viable option as well, removing items from switch-ins such as Tentacruel and Heatran, leaving them crippled for the rest of the game. Healing Wish is another viable move, that basically gives one of Clefable's teammates a second life at the cost of Clefable sacrificing itself.

Set Details
========

Leftovers increases Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better by reaching defensive benchmarks that, without Leftovers, are unachievable. Maximum HP investment gives Clefable as much as bulk as possible, and the given Special Defense investment in tandem with a Calm nature allows Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-B's Ice Beam, Thundurus's Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. 172 Defense EVs allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios's Psyshock, and Jolly Mega Gyarados's Waterfall as well as the OHKO from Choice Band Scizor's Bullet Punch. Magic Guard prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and continual switches with entry hazards on the field.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Clefable's decent bulk, it can pivot into non-threatening Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Rotom-W and proceed to set up Stealth Rock, but be careful not to overestimate Clefable's bulk. Try to set up Stealth Rock as early as possible because any chip damage on the foe is appreciated; however, keep in mind that Clefable does not need to be a lead, as it can set up Stealth Rock during the middle of the game as well. Nevertheless, it does have a decent matchup against select leads and anti-leads such as Garchomp and Mega Sableye. Clefable can also force switches against Pokemon such as Conkeldurr and Keldeo and proceed to set up Stealth Rock by virtue of its typing and bulk. Use various coverage moves to ward away Rapid Spinners and Defoggers such as Excadrill and Mandibuzz from getting rid of the Stealth Rock on the field. Use Soft-Boiled to ensure Clefable stays healthy throughout the match and also to make sure that Clefable continually set Stealth Rocks if needed be.

Team Options
========

Heatran has great defensive synergy with Clefable, dealing with the Poison-types, such as Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss, that Clefable struggles with as well as select Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. It also provides Taunt support to stop the opponent from getting rid of Clefable's Stealth Rock. Pokemon that enjoy having Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field are good partners for Clefable; an example is Mega Alakazam, which needs Stealth Rock up to secure certain KOs such as with Shadow Ball on Latios. In addition, Rotom-W and Tyranitar are good partners that can deal with most Fire-types such as Talonflame and Heatran, which all check Clefable. Latios beats Tentacruel, one of the the only spinners that Clefable fails to beat, as well as luring in and KOing Steel-types such as Heatran and Excadrill with Earthquake. Latios also appreciates Clefable's ability to deal with most Dragon-, Dark-, and Ice-types such as Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Weavile, which it would otherwise struggle against.

Unaware Wall
########
name: Unaware Wall
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Heal Bell / Flamethrower
move 3: Wish
move 4: Protect
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Moonblast is the main STAB move that Clefable uses to deal damage and to not be completely shut down by Taunt. Heal Bell lets Clefable utilize its good defenses to become a supportive cleric, as well as clearing itself of any status because without Magic Guard, it is quite susceptible to poison and burn. Wish provides reliable recovery for Clefable and its team and is used over Soft-Boiled, as Soft-Boiled is illegal with Unaware. Protect is great for safely receiving Wish healing and for scouting. Flamethrower is an alternate option for the second moveslot that deals with various Steel-types such as Scizor and Excadrill on the switch.

However, if the team already has a dedicated cleric, alternate options can be run in the Heal Bell moveslot. Thunder Wave is a great utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Scizor, Talonflame and Heatran. Moonlight is an alternate way of healing, and it takes up only one moveslot as compared to Wish + Protect's two. However, Moonlight has fewer PP and is less reliable, due to healing a less amount in weather conditions such as sand and rain, and it also does not heal Clefable's teammates. Stealth Rock is a good support move candidate for the last moveslot to punish switches. Knock Off can also be used to cripple switch-ins such as Gengar and Heatran by removing their item.

Set Details
========

The 248 HP investment minimizes entry hazard damage as well as any residual damage from status or sand. Maximum Defense investment allows Clefable to check a variety of physical attackers such as Mega Pinsir, Landorus-T, and Breloom; alternatively, Special Defense investment can be used instead to check special attackers or setup sweepers such as Mega Manectric and Manaphy. Leftovers gives Clefable passive healing. Unaware is Clefable's chosen ability to ignore any boosts the opponent's Pokemon has accumulated, making Clefable a good defensive wall. It is to be noted that even if Knock Off is run, Clefable should still use a Bold nature, because Knock Off is not meant to do damage but instead is used to remove the foes' items.

Usage Tips
========

Unaware Clefable is a great fit on balanced and stall teams that need a check to powerful setup sweepers or a cleric with Wish support. Do not overestimate Clefable's bulk; it cannot repeatedly check sweepers such as Mega Charizard X or take powerful hits such as Crawdaunt's Crabhammer. Remember to keep Clefable healthy so that it can check many threats later on, as losing Clefable can be detrimental. Pivot Clefable in on weaker hits such as Heatran's Lava Plume, and take advantage of the switches Clefable forces to use support moves such as Heal Bell or Wish.

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-types such as Scizor and Excadrill is extremely beneficial to Clefable; Magnezone can trap and KO Steel-types effectively with Hidden Power Fire, as can various lures such as Hidden Power Fire or Earthquake Latios and Apicot Berry Jirachi. Heatran is a great partner, having great offensive and defensive synergy with Clefable, and deals with Steel-, Fire-, and Poison-types that check Clefable. Heatran also benefits from Wish support, as it does not have any reliable recovery of its own. Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Quagsire that can check the Pokemon that Clefable struggle with such as Mega Charizard X, Talonflame, and Bisharp are great partners. Teammates that appreciate Clefable's ability to easily check foes such as Mega Pinsir, Mega Gallade, Mega Lopunny, and a multitude of Dragon-types are great partners; examples are Heatran and Latios.

Unaware + Calm Mind
########
name: Unaware + Calm Mind
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Moonlight / Wish
move 4: Heal Bell / Protect / Flamethrower
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Due to Unaware, Clefable can set up Calm Mind on setup sweepers such as Garchomp , which it cannot do with Magic Guard. Moonblast is the obligatory STAB move, providing great coverage against a multitude of Fighting-, Dark-, and Dragon-types. Moonlight is used over Wish, as it frees up a moveslot and Soft-Boiled is incompatible with Unaware; however, Moonlight has fewer PP and is less effective under most weather conditions, which is a major drawback. Wish and Protect can be opted for in place of Moonlight, providing more reliable recovery than Moonlight, the ability to heal teammates, and the ability to scout. However, Wish + Protect takes up two moveslots, which is quite detrimental given that Clefable really enjoys having Heal Bell or another coverage move. Heal Bell clears Clefable and its team of status, as without Magic Guard, Clefable is easily worn down by status such as burn or Toxic. Finally, Flamethrower deals with Steel-types such as Scizor, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn, which take Moonblast easily.

Set Details
========

The 248 HP investment minimizes residual damage, including from status and entry hazards. Maximum Defense investment is used so that Clefable can use physical setup sweepers, such as Garchomp, as setup fodder; however, Special Defense investment can be used instead to set up on special sweepers such as Quiver Dance Volcarona, Nasty Plot Thundurus, and Tail Glow Manaphy more easily. Leftovers gives Clefable gradual recovery to set up Calm Mind more easily. Unaware allows Clefable to boost in the face of setup sweepers, a perk it has over Magic Guard.
Alternatively, an EV spread of 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe can be used to allow Clefable to outspeed minimum Speed Tyranitar. More Speed can also be run to outrun Pokemon such as Azumarill, Sylveon, and Skarmory.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable fits in on more defensively oriented teams in need of Wish or cleric support or on balanced teams needing a solid check for setup sweepers. Clefable can easily pivot into a multitude of threats such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade, and it can utilize the switches caused to set up Calm Mind. However, though solid, Clefable's bulk should not be overestimated; do not repeatedly throw Clefable into powerful attacks. Be careful with Moonlight's PP, as Clefable is often dead weight and useless without recovery. With Unaware, Clefable can win Calm Mind wars easily against opposing Gothitelle, Magic Guard Clefable, Slowbro, and Manaphy.

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-, Poison-, and Fire-types is beneficial to Clefable; specially defensive Gliscor and Heatran are good teammates in this respect, as they can take on a variety of Poison-types, including Mega Venusaur, Dragalge, Gengar, and Tentacruel. Tyranitar and Thunder Wave Rotom-W check Talonflame and Mega Charizard X at the same time with ease, both Pokemon Clefable struggles with tremendously. Conkeldurr, Mega Gallade, and Mega Lopunny check Steel-types for Clefable; Conkeldurr easily deals with Heatran, Ferrothorn, and Empoleon, taking advantage of burns because of Guts, as well as a few Poison-types such as Gengar because of its high defenses combined with an Assault Vest. Similarly, Mega Gallade deals with Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn, as well as Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel, while Mega Lopunny smashes Steel-types, Gengar, and Mega Charizard Y.

Tank-Fable
########
name: Tank-Fable
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Focus Blast / Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
ability: Magic Guard
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
nature: Modest

Moves
========

Moonblast is Clefable's main STAB move and hits quite hard with a Life Orb, dealing with the plethora of Fighting-, Dark-, and Dragon-types in the tier, such as Mega Lopunny, Tyranitar, and Garchomp. Fire Blast allows Clefable to get past Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, which can shrug off Moonblast easily; however, Flamethrower is an option for more reliability in terms of accuracy. Soft-Boiled lets Clefable stay healthy so that it can consistently tank hits and dish out powerful hits of its own. Focus Blast allows Clefable to 2HKO Heatran and Empoleon, which otherwise wall Clefable utterly. Thunderbolt , similarly, 2HKOes stallbreaker Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y. Lastly, Ice Beam OHKOes specially defensive Gliscor as well as both Landorus formes. Psyshock can also be considered, as it deals with Poison-types such as Amoonguss, Mega Venusaur, and Tentacruel, as well as dealing more damage to Chansey.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment lets Clefable comfortably tank hits, and maximum Special Attack investment allows Clefable to hit as hard as possible. Magic Guard prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and entry hazards so it can switch in numerous times without requiring Rapid Spin or Defog support. A Life Orb capitalizes on Magic Guard, increasing Clefable's damage output significantly without inflicting recoil.
Lastly, Speed investment can be run to outspeed threats such as Tyranitar and Sylveon. An additional 12 EVs in Speed allow Clefable to outspeed uninvested Tyranitar, while 16 EVs will creep Sylveon.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can easily pivot into Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Lopunny and dish out powerful hits immediately. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also pivot easily into walls that typically rely on status, such as Chansey, Seismitoad, and Alomomola. However, because this set does not run any Defense or Special Defense investment, keep in mind that Clefable is not particularly bulky and thus cannot be thrown into numerous attacks. Use Soft-Boiled on predicted switches, so as to not lose momentum. If using moves such as Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Psyshock to deal with the Pokemon Clefable lures in, one must pretend to not have these moves early-game and strike only when the opponent's guard is down.

Team Options
========

Because Clefable has various coverage moves in its arsenal, Pokemon that appreciate various threats Pokemon lured in and KOed are ideal partners. Mega Pidgeot and Volcarona appreciate Clefable's ability to lure in Empoleon and Heatran and 2HKO them with Focus Blast, while Fighting-, Grass-, and Bug-types such as Mega Lopunny, Serperior, and Scizor value Clefable's ability to lure in and 2HKO stallbreaker Talonflame with Thunderbolt. In addition, Clefable can lure in opposing Gliscor and Landorus and OHKO them with Ice Beam, making Gengar and Landorus not running Hidden Power Ice great partners. Lastly, Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric appreciate Clefable's ability to weaken Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss with Psyshock. Pivots such as Tornadus-Therian and Rotom-W can bring in Clefable easily with VoltTurn support so that it can come in without taking unnecessary damage.

Other Options
########

On the Calm Mind + Magic Guard set, various other coverage moves such as Ice Beam and Thunderbolt can be used to deal with Clefable's checks, such as Gliscor and Talonflame. Dual screens is an option to provide invaluable support to various sweepers on offensive builds, but dedicated screeners such as Azelf and Klefki outperform Clefable in this role. Knock Off is a great utility move to cripple switch-ins such as Gengar and Talonflame. Rain Dance is a good support option to replenish rain on weather teams, as well as checking Fire-type switch-ins such as Talonflame, Victini, and Mega Charizard Y. Encore locks setup sweepers and status inducers into only one move, allowing easy setup or switch opportunities for Clefable. Stored Power is a good option as well to stallbreak much more effectively and efficiently; at +6, Clefable 2HKOes Chansey and slaughters various Steel-, Fire-, and Poison-types such as Heatran, Talonflame, and Mega Venusaur, all of which it fails to do with Moonblast. Heal Bell on the Stealth Rock set is also an option, clearing teammates of the crippling effects of status. Lastly, it is to be highlighted that Cosmic Power is a really bad move for Clefable; it takes many turns to set up and to do damage, and even if Clefable does manage to get to +6, a non-STAB Stored Power still hits like a wet bag, not to mention Clefable is prone to being struck by a critical hit and knocked out.

Checks & Counters
########

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Talonflame, Victini, and Heatran can take Moonblast and Flamethrower easily, and they can threaten Clefable with strong Fire-type STAB attacks in return. Talonflame can shut down Clefable with Taunt, set up on it with Swords Dance, and retaliate with Brave Bird. Similarly, Victini can hit back with an extremely powerful V-create. Heatran deserves a special mention as well, as it 4x resists Moonblast and is immune to Flamethrower; in return, it can deal lots of damage to Clefable with Flash Cannon, wear down its Unaware set with Toxic, or phaze it with Roar. However, Heatran is susceptible to Focus Blast and Thunder Wave.

**Steel-types**: Fast and powerful Steel-types such as Scizor, Mega Metagross, and Magnezone can all come in on a predicted Moonblast and threaten Clefable with their respective STAB moves; Scizor and Mega Scizor deal a hefty chunk to Clefable with Bullet Punch, but they get OHKOed by a +1 Flamethrower; Mega Metagross easily comes in on a Moonblast or a Calm Mind and straight up OHKOes Clefable with Meteor Mash; and Choice Scarf Magnezone can switch into Moonblast or Thunder Wave and 2HKO Clefable with Flash Cannon. Bulky Steel-types such as Empoleon are big problems for Clefable as well; Empoleon can phaze Clefable out with Roar and wear it down with Scald.

**Poison-types**: Poison-types such as Gengar, Mega Venusaur, and Tentacruel check Clefable relatively well. Gengar OHKOes Clefable with Sludge Wave and can switch into any move bar Thunder Wave and Stored Power; Mega Venusaur can heal off any damage sustained, has Thick Fat to ward off Flamethrower and Ice Beam, and can 2HKO Clefable with Sludge Bomb; and Tentacruel can wear Clefable down with Acid Spray and Scald and is not crippled much by Thunder Wave.

**Trappers**: Trappers such as Gothitelle and Wobbuffet can really cripple Clefable. Gothitelle can Trick its Choice Scarf or Choice Specs onto Clefable, thus locking it into one move, use Clefable as setup fodder with its own Calm Mind, heal off any damage sustained with Rest, and take out Clefable with Psychic or Psyshock. Wobbuffet can Encore Clefable into one move, allowing easy predictions or switches, and use Mirror Coat to reflect Moonblast.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Gengar, Gliscor, Mew, and Heatran can stop Clefable from setting up Calm Mind. They also prevent Clefable from using a recovery move with Taunt or have the bulk to use Clefable as setup bait. Specially defensive Gliscor can take any hit from Clefable bar Ice Beam, use Swords Dance to set up, heal off any damage with Roost, and cripple Clefable with Knock Off and Earthquake. Gengar, Heatran, and Mew can use Taunt to deny Clefable's recovery and use of Calm Mind; however, the former two despise Thunder Wave.

Moving this to QC. Would like opinion on what order the various slashes should be, and also how to expand on the defensive Unaware set, since I have the least experience with that. Also tagging Reverb because I want to know how CM + Encore works :]

Latios is a great check to Poison- and and Fire-types such as Tentacruel and Mega Charizard Y

Hey there.
You should edit it because latios doesnt come on any poison user that can kill clefable since it means they are powerful such as Dragalge/venusaur/Gengar, so latios is clearly not what you can call a check here.
Plus you can also mention that Heatran is a solid partner paired with Clefable since he can take all its weakness and take advantage from it (especially fire type move since can attract zard y/zard x/Entei/victini ect..).
Otherwise well done, it's solid :D

Edit: I'd invest more speed on offensive clefable because it's safer to outspeed Azumarill with speed investment (which is played with enough speed to outspeed clefable) and also to make sure you can outspeed other clefable

Yeah, I'll mention that in set details, but iirc we're not allowed to do speed creeps on analyses. Thanks for the heads up :)

just want to share some thoughts ^_^
in cm+mg and sr set knock off should be mentioned. knock offing tran, tenta, gliscor (is so nice when you caught it before getting poisoned), rachi, talonflame etc. is very nice for last long them with cm and helping others teammates. in cm+mg i don't like at all stored power, i mean that set is versatile as fuck in the sense you basically only need: cm, soft, moonblast and a free slot to whatever you want, be it for support and easier set up (twave, knock off, encore) or for beting checks (the old good flame, ib, tbolt, etc). stored power is not gonna break these full stall squads (goth traps you, ww skarm, etc.), taunt is really common on stuff like talon, heatran, gliscor, so you are not gonna boost enough to stored power do something, and other checks doest give a shit, tenta (acid spray), rachi etc. imo stored power in this meta doesnt help you as much to beat your checks as others options, and thus i would put it in moves.

in cm a lo spread is mentioned, but not max hp / max def, this isn't xy and greninja is dead, and the old sdef investment was more to set up easier on lando (now everyone runs sludge), off mvenu (not as common as xy and def is most common rn), etc. if you have already good checks to special stuff like thundurus, kyub, tornadusetc., max def is perfectly fine, and helps a lot to set up easier on ferro, lando-t, m lopuny, azu, and a lot of physicals, so it's far from being bad.

in unaware sets i would mentioned a spread with some sdef to take better np thundy, td+rd manphy, volcarona, serperior etc. which is quiet neat considering some special set uppers destroys those common balance cores really easily. edit: nvm about this i just already saw you mentioned that...

On the old Clefable thread, AM said to have Stored Power as a slash. Also CM + Knock Off wtf how does that work. But I don't get your second sentence tho, do you mean to make MG a fully defensive set cuz thats not very good :/

With the way the meta is I wouldnt have stored power slashed anymore. Ill take a look at this later in the day and get back to you with the third qc check after I confirm everything is all set.

Ok, I've deslashed Stored Power and added in Knock Off for the SR set. Should I move stored power to OO or just mention it in moves?

Few things:

-dont abbreviate cm + mg, always fully write it out as calm mind + magic guard
-what do the 0 attack ivs do? clef already resists foul play and threatens the few foul play users in the tier, so its pretty much irrelevant. Remove that.
-healing wish is in the moves section of the unaware wall as well as oo. First off, its a lot more than oo material imo, but shouldnt be in that set. The best two sets where you should give it a moves mention are the tank and sr set, those are where it fits the best.

Collective QC comment.

Yeah the 0 IV Atk aspect shouldn't be stressed in the way that it is being described. This is a given with just about any special attacker although it's also for confusion which bolts missed out. Anyways this is a redundant aspect, IV manipulation is really only correlated to certain HP, Defense and Speed values primarily for certain benchmarks that has to do with how it functions based on much more static gameplay, similar to Dugtrios HP IV drop for use of Reversal and various Life Orb attackers. It can be removed.

Stealth Rock Setter
########
As always, Heatran has great defensive synergy with Clefable, dealing with Poison- and Steel-types that Clefable struggle with, and also provides Taunt support to stop the opponent from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks that Clefable has set.
Be much more specific cause Heatran sure as hell isn't handling some steel types like Excadrill and its matchup against M-Metagross isn't that fantastic so describe which ones it actually handles.

Unaware Wall
########
name: Unaware Wall
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Heal Bell / Flamethrower
move 3: Wish
move 4: Protect
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

This should be the set for the sake of actually defensively checking the stuff you're suppose to with WishTect and to remove all the inconsistent slashes. Heal Bell is the main choice but doesn't necessarily have to be your only option if you already have this clerical support covered, plus the fact that this may also be a lot of burden on Clefable for being a clerical tool which should be emphasized a bit for its nature of potentially being overloaded. Flamethrower to give yourself a fighting chance against Ferrothorn, Scizor, Skarmory, the usual really.

Mew and Heatran needs to be added under the "Taunt" section and that section itself should be name "Stall-Breaker" as it's more appropriate to include the actual stall-breakers that beat it than just assume that Taunt is an answer to Clefable, which it sort of isn't since that's only a very partial aspect of it where as the stall-breakers usually have defensive traits to combat it and is more specific. Heatran should just be under Fire Types but with more emphasis basically in terms of its x4 Fairy resistance. It doesn't like Focus Blast and it most certainly hates Thunder Wave even to the point it can get stalled out so it doesn't need the special attention that it's getting right now.

QC 3/3 once this is all done.

Implemented all that, thanks. I'll move it to GP soon, just wanna make sure I haven't missed anything.

Overview

Clefable rose to stardom in XY, and has since been a dominating force of in the balance playstyle. (I'm not quite sure why, but it just seems better) Boasting a good defensive typing in Fairy,leaving it open only to the more uncommon Steel- and Poison-types,coupled with two stellar abilities in Magic Guard and Unaware, making it extremely versatile, Clefable is capable of fulfilling many different roles on a team. (somehow the subject got lost there...but the dashes are just for readability) In addition, access to decent bulk lets it take on many threatening Pokemon such as Mega Sableye, Mega Altaria, Mega Manectric, Kyurem-Black, Breloom, and Mega Lopunny, just to name a few, not to mention its diverse movepool, consisting of plenty of utility and support moves, including, but not limited to, Calm Mind, Knock Off, Heal Bell, Encore, Thunder Wave, (ac) and Stealth Rock. Last but not least, Clefable is one of the best Stealth Rock users in the tier as it can get past nearly all Rapid Spin users or Defoggers such as Skarmory, Mandibuzz, (ac) and Starmie.

However, the queen of Balance (does Balance need to be capitalized? is this a thing I'm not getting?) is not without its flaws. The advent of ORAS brought Mega Metagross and Mega Beedrill, as well as surges in usage for Mega Scizor, Talonflame, Reuniclus and Stallbreaker Gliscor, making Clefable's life harder. Moreover, Clefable is shut down easily by Taunt, and without any Calm Mind boosts is relatively weak. Clefable's bulk is also quite underwhelming in practice, making it unable to check Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Gallade repeatedly. Despite these flaws, Clefable is still a defining force of the metagame.

move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Flamethrower / Thunder Wave
ability: Magic Guard
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
nature: Calm

Moves
========

Calm Mind is the crux of this set, letting Clefable boost its Special Attack alongside its Special Defense stat, making it both bulky and hit hard increasing both its bulk and damage output. (this just makes it flow better) Moonblast is the Clefable's obligatory STAB move and hits extremely hard after just a few Calm Mind boosts. Soft-Boiled is next, giving Clefable much-needed longevity on the field, (ac) enabling it to check threats with much more ease. Lastly, Flamethrower deals with Steel-types that resist Moonblast fails to deal much damage too, such as Scizor and Excadrill. (was going to just fix "too," but decided this flows better) However, there are other options as well. Thunder Wave is a great utility move in general and can cripple many of Clefable's checks, including Talonflame, Scizor, and Mega Metagross.
Focus Blast can also be considered for its ability to hit Heatran and Chansey, two of the biggest checks to Clefable, whilst Ice Beam is an alternate option to lure in and OHKO Specially Defensive Gliscor at +1 who , which would otherwise check Clefable; however, (ac) Clefable misses out on Steel-types such as Scizor as a result. ("that" and "which" over "who" to refer to Pokemon)

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item to increase Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better. The given Special Defense, and HP investment, alongside and a Calm Nature allow Clefable to, most of the time, avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-Black's Ice Beam, Thundurus' Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, (ac) and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt, whilst the given Defense and HP investment allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios' Psyshock, Jolly Mega Gyarados' Waterfall as well as the OHKO from Choice Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch.

Magic Guard is the chosen ability to prevent Clefable from being worn down by status and continual switch-ins with hazards on the field, and as a result it is incredibly hard to wear down. Running Speed investment is perfectly fine, allowing Clefable to outspeed opposing Clefable, Azumarill, Skarmory, Tyranitar and Sylveon, but it will, (ac) as a result, (ac) lose out on the defensive benchmarks above.
If using a Life Orb, it is also impossible for Clefable to reach similar defensive benchmarks as this set, so an EV spread of 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpA with a Bold Nature can be used to 2HKO Chansey with Moonblast most of the time, allowing Clefable to stallbreak much more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can be pivoted into relatively weaker attacks, such as Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt or Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but keep in mind that Clefable does not have phenomenal bulk and thus cannot switch into incredibly powerful moves such as Choice Band Azumarill's Play Rough. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also be pivoted into status moves; passive Pokemon such as Alomomola and Rotom-W who that generally rely on status are Pokemon that Clefable can easily pivot into and setup set up on. Clefable fits best on balanced teams that are, in general, looking for a good sweeper, as it provides a great can act as glue for the team for with its ability to check a wide range of foes. (or maybe "as it can glue together the team with its ability...") Use Calm Mind on foes that aren't particularly threatening to Clefable, such as Thundurus, Rotom-Wash, (ac) or Slowbro, or on predicted switches against the likes of Lopunny and Altaria, but keep this in mind: don't get greedy with getting Calm Mind boosts because if a foe gets a critical hit on Clefable, or else Clefable will get struck by a critical hit and it is game over. If a switch in (space here) to a Fire-weak Steel-types such as Scizor or Mega Metagross is obvious, it is better to use Flamethrower as opposed to Calm Mind to weaken the check. Use Soft-Boiled to keep Clefable healthy and in a good position, and also lets it setup easier to set up.

Team Options
========

Because Fire-types such as Heatran, Talonflame, (ac) and Mega Charizard Y are amongst the greatest checks to Clefable, Pokemon that can deal easily with them are great partners to Clefables. (remove s) Relatively bulkier Water-, Ground- and Rock-types such as Keldeo, Suicune, Excadrill, (ac) and Tyranitar are great teammates to weaken or eliminate Fire-types for Clefable. In addition, Magnezone is an obvious partner as well, eliminating Steel-types that may trouble Clefable, such as Scizor, with ease. A Choice Scarf set is preferred so that Magnezone can soften up faster Steel-types such as Excadrill, Heatran, (ac) and Mega Metagross. Heatran, similarly, is a great teammate to Clefable, dealing with Poison-, Fire- and Steel-types that Clefable may have trouble with, as well as providing much valued Stealth Rock support; it also checks Talonflame and Mega Charizard X lacking Earthquake. Lures for various Clefable checks such as Specially Defensive Gliscor and Heatran are valued. Pokemon such as Icy Wind Gengar or Apicot Berry Jirachi are good choices for these roles, but remember not to reveal them too early.

Clefable is a one of the best Stealth Rock users as it can get past most Rapid Spin or Defog users bar Tentacruel and occasionally Excadrill. Stealth Rock is a great support move in general, punishing switches as well as deterring Fire-type Pokemon such as Talonflame from switching in and checking Clefable. Moonblast is the main STAB move and deals with the plethora of Dark-, Dragon- and Fighting-types in the tier. Thunder Wave is an excellent utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Gengar, Metagross, (ac) and Charizard by slowing them down. Fire Blast is an option over Thunder Wave, and allows Clefable to muscle past Steel-types and a few spinners/dDefoggers (at least, that's how it is in the standards) such as Skarmory and Excadrill, and is chosen over Flamethrower for the increased damage output as well as its ability to OHKO Scizor 100% of the time. Lastly, Soft-Boiled is compulsory, keeping Clefable healthy to be able to set up Stealth Rock when needed throughout the match.
Knock Off is a viable option as well, removing depriving switch-ins such as Tentacruel and Heatran of their item, leaving them crippled for the rest of the game, as is Healing Wish, (ac) which basically gives sweepers a second life at the cost of sacrificing Clefable.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item on this set to increase Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better, reaching defensive benchmarks that without Leftovers is unachievable. Maximum HP investment gives Clefable as much as bulk as possible, and the given Special Defense investment in tandem with a Calm Nature allows Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-Black's Ice Beam, Thundurus' Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt, whilst 172 EVs invested into Defense allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios' Psyshock, Jolly Mega Gyarados' Waterfall as well as the OHKO from Choice Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch.
Magic Guard is the chosen ability to prevent Clefable from being worn down by status and continual switch-ins with hazards on the field.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Clefable's decent bulk, it can pivot into non-threatening Pokemon such as Lopunny and Rotom-W and set up Stealth Rock, but be careful not to overestimate Clefable's bulk. Try to set up Stealth Rock as early as possible because any chip damage on the foe is appreciated; however, (ac) keep in mind that Clefable does not need to be a lead, as it can set up Stealth Rock during the middle of the game as well, but it does have a decent matchup against select leads and anti-leads such as Garchomp and Mega Sableye. Clefable can also force switches against Pokemon such as Conkeldurr and Keldeo and proceed to set up Stealth Rocks by virtue of its typing and bulk. Use various coverage moves to ward away keep Rapid Spinners users (or the term "spinners," not capitalized) or Defoggers such as Mandibuzz and Excadrill from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks on the field, and use Soft-Boiled to ensure Clefable stays healthy throughout the match, and also makes sure that Clefable so that it can continuously set Stealth Rocks if needed be. (or just "...if needed")

Team Options
========

As always, Heatran has great defensive synergy with Clefable, dealing with Poison-types that Clefable struggles (unless, I suppose, you are talking about plural Clefable that struggle with this) with as well as select Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, and also provides Taunt support to stop the opponent from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks that Clefable has set. Pokemon that enjoy having Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field are good partners to Clefable; an example is Mega Alakazam, who which needs having Stealth Rock up to secure certain KOs. In addition, Rotom-W and Tyranitar are good partners and deal with most Fire-types such as Talonflame and Heatran, (ac) which all check Clefable. Latios beats Tentacruel, one of the the only spinners that Clefable fails to beat, as well as luring in and KOing Steel-types such as Heatran with Earthquake. Latios also appreciates Clefable's ability to deal with most Dragon-, Dark- and Ice-types such as Dragonite, Weavile, (ac) and Tyranitar, (ac) which it would otherwise struggle with. ("with which it would otherwise struggle," if you hate prepositions at the end of sentences)

Unaware Wall
########
name: Unaware Wall
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Heal Bell / Flamethrower
move 3: Wish
move 4: Protect
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Moonblast is the main STAB move that Clefable uses to deal damage, and to not be completely shut down by Taunt. (tad awkward; I would say, "...and to ensure it is not completely shut down by Taunt") Heal Bell lets Clefable utilize its good defenses to become a supportive cleric, as well as clearing itself of any status, (ac) as without Magic Guard it is quite susceptible to it. ("...status, to which it is quite susceptible to without Magic Guard.") Wish provides reliable recovery, and is used over Soft-Boiled as Soft-Boiled is illegal with Unaware; with Wish Clefable can also provide reliable recovery for the rest of the team. Protect takes advantage of Wish, and is great to receive Wish healing as well as scouting in general. Flamethrower is an alternate option for the second slot and deals with various Steel-types such as Scizor and Excadrill on the switch.

However, if the team already has a dedicated cleric, alternate options can be run in the that slot. Thunder Wave is a great utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Scizor and Heatran. Moonlight is an alternate way of healing, and takes up only one moveslot as compared to Wish and Protect's two, but has much less PP and is less reliable due to healing for a less amount in weather conditions, (ac) and also does not heal teammates. Stealth Rock is a good support move candidate for the last slot to punish switches. Knock Off can also be used to cripple switch-ins such as Gengar and Heatran by removing them of their item. (I am pretty sure it is either "depriving them of their item" or "removing their item." I do not think "remove" can be used in that way.)

Set Details
========

248 HP investment minimiszes (Smogon uses American spellings, I'm afraid) entry hazard damage as well as any residual damage from status or weather. Maximum Defense investment allows Clefable to check a variety of physical attackers such as Mega Pinsir, Landorus-Therian, (ac) and Breloom; (you can just call it Landorus-T, but I'm not sure if you're required to do so) but alternatively, Special Defense investment could be used instead to check special attackers or set-up setup sweepers such as Manaphy and Mega Manectric. Leftovers is the chosen item to give Clefable passive healing. Unaware is Clefable's chosen ability to ignore any boosts the opponent foe (maybe? because the Pokemon would be the one with the boosts?) may have accumulated, making it Clefable a good defensive wall. (I think? Because otherwise it would be saying that Unaware is a good defensive wall.) It is to be noted that even if Knock Off is run, Clefable should still run (or maybe "have," because you just used "run") a Bold Nature since Knock Off is not meant to do damage but used for the secondary effect instead. (it's still a little awkward, so you might opt for "...since you want Knock Off for its secondary effect instead of damage," and maybe you can remove "of damage," which is probably understood?) (oh, and maybe "because" over "since." Since is traditionally for referring to time, eg. "haven't had cake since February")

Usage Tips
========

Clefable is a great fit onto balanced and stall teams in general that are in need of a check to powerful set-up setup sweepers or a Cleric / Wish support. Do not overestimate Clefable's bulk; it cannot repeatedly check sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, or take powerful hits such as Crawdaunt's Crabhammer. Remember to keep Clefable healthy so that it can check many threats later on, as losing Clefable could be detrimental. Pivot Clefable in onto weaker hits such as Heatran's Lava Plume, and take advantage of the switches Clefable forces to use support moves such as Heal Bell or Wish.

However, Clefable may potentially become overloaded if using Heal Bell as it will be expected to double as both a cleric and a wall.

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-types such as Scizor and Excadrill is extremely beneficial to Clefable; Magnezone can trap and kill Steel-types effectively with Hidden Power Fire, as can various lures such as Hidden Power Fire or Earthquake Latios and Apicot Berry Jirachi. Heatran is a great partner, having great offensive and defensive synergy with Clefable, and deals with Steel-, Fire- and Poison-types that check Clefable, and also benefits from Wish support as it does not have reliable recovery of its own. Pokemon that can check other Pokemon that Clefable struggle with are great partners; Hippowdon and Quagsire are good partners, as they check Mega Charizard X, Talonflame, and to some extent Gliscor. Pokemon that appreciate Pokemon that Clefable can check easily such as Mega Pinsir, Mega Gallade, Mega Lopunny and a multitude of Dragon-types are great partners, examples are Heatran and Latios. (I'm not too sure what's going on in this last sentence.)

Unaware + Calm Mind
########
name: Unaware + Calm Mind
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Moonlight / Wish
move 4: Heal Bell / Protect / Flamethrower
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Calm Mind allows Clefable to set-up set up, (the verb is "set up," the adjective is "setup") and due to Unaware it can use sweepers such as Garchomp for set-up setup fodder, (ac) which with Magic Guard it could not. Moonblast is the obligatory STAB, providing great coverage in general against a multitude of Fighting-, Dark- and Dragon-types. Moonlight is used over Wish as it frees up a moveslot and Soft-Boiled as it is incompatible with it (what is incompatible with what? oh, I suppose you must mean that Soft-Boiled is incompatible with Unaware Clefable...maybe make that clear?); however, (ac) Moonlight has less PP and is less effective during weather conditions, which is a major drawback. Wish and Protect can be opted for in place of Moonlight, providing more reliable recovery than Moonlight, the ability to heal teammates and the latter also allows Clefable to scout; however, (ac) it takes up two moveslots, (ac) which is quite detrimental since because Clefable really enjoys having Heal Bell or other coverage moves. (I personally feel like this sentence might work better split into two? It's just that the phrase "and the latter also allows..." feels awkward.) Heal Bell clears Clefable and its team of status, as without Magic Guard Clefable is easily worn down by status such as burns or poisons. (not too sure about making "burns" singular, but you definitely want to be talking about poison the status rather than actual poisons) Finally, Flamethrower deals with a variety of Steel-types such as Scizor, Skarmory, (ac) and Ferrothorn who that take Moonblast easily.

Set Details
========

248 HP investment minimiszes residual damage, (ac) including status and entry hazards. Maximum Defense investment is used so that Clefable can use physical set-up setup sweepers such as Garchomp as set-up setup fodder; however, (ac) Special Defense investment could be used instead to set up on special sweepers such as Quiver Dance Volcarona, Nasty Plot Thundurus, (ac) and Tail Glow Manaphy easier. Leftovers is the chosen item to give Clefable residual recovery to set-up set up Calm Mind easier. Unaware allows Clefable to boost in the face of set-up setup sweepers, a perk it has over Magic Guard.
Alternatively, an EV spread of 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe could be used. The Speed EVs allow Clefable to outspeed minimum Speed Tyranitar. More Speed can also be run to outrun select Pokemon such as Azumarill, Sylveon, (ac) and Skarmory. (I'm not sure how much I like seeing "..be run to outrun..." but it's certainly not incorrect.)

Usage Tips
========

Clefable fits in on more defensively-oriented teams in need of Wish or Cleric (should "Cleric" be capitalized?) support, or balanced teams needing a solid check to set-up setup sweepers. Clefable can easily pivot into a multitude of threats such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade, and can utilise the switches caused to set-up set up Calm Mind. However, though solid, Clefable's bulk should not be overestimated; do not repeatedly throw Clefable into powerful attacks. (period) Be careful with the PP from Moonlight, as Clefable is often dead weight (space between "dead" and "weight") and useless without recovery. With Unaware, Clefable can win Calm Mind wars easily with opposing Gothitelle, Magic Guard Clefable, Slowbro, (ac) and Manaphy.

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-, Poison- and Fire-types are is beneficial to Clefable; Specially Defensive Gliscor and Heatran are good teammates in this aspect, as they can take on a variety of Poison-types including Mega Venusaur, Dragalge, Gengar, (ac) and Tentacruel. Tyranitar and Rotom-W checks Talonflame and Mega Charizard X at the same time with ease, which Clefable struggles with tremendously. (Tyranitar and Rotom-W check Talonflame and Mega Charizard X, Clefable struggles with them.) Conkeldurr, Mega Gallade, (ac) and Mega Lopunny check Steel-types for Clefable; Conkeldurr easily deals with Heatran, Ferrothorn, (ac) and Empoleon, taking advantage of burns because of Guts, as well as a few Poison-types such as Gengar because of it's high defenses. Similarly, Mega Gallade deals with Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn, as well as Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel, whilst Mega Lopunny smashes Steel-types as well as Gengar and Mega Charizard Y.

Tank-Fable
########
name: Tank-Fable
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Focus Blast / Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
ability: Magic Guard
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
nature: Modest

Moves
========

Moonblast is the main STAB move and hits quite hard with a Life Orb, dealing with the plethora of Fighting-, Dark-, (ac) and Dragon-types such as Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Mega Lopunny in the tier. Fire Blast allows Clefable to get past Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn who that can shrug off Moonblast easily; however, (ac) Flamethrower is an option for more reliability in terms of accuracy. Soft-Boiled lets Clefable stay healthy so it can consistently tank hits and dish out powerful hits of its own. Focus Blast allows Clefable to lure in and 2HKO Heatran and Empoleon who that otherwise wall Clefable utterly. Thunderbolt can be opted for and, similarly, lures in and OHKOes Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y. Lastly, Ice Beam OHKOes (OHKOes, the verb. OHKOs, the plural of OHKO) Specially Defensive Gliscor as well as both Landorus formes. (formes) Psyshock can also be considered as it deals with Poison-types such as Amoonguss, Mega Venusaur, (ac) and Tentacruel, as well as dealing more damage to Chansey.

Set Details
========

Maximum investment in the HP stat lets Clefable comfortably tank hits, and maximum investment in Special Attack allows Clefable to hits (hit) as hard as possible, and (I would just start a new sentence here, obviously getting rid of ", and") combined with maximum HP, (ac) Clefable can both absorb hits and dish out powerful ones of its own. Magic Guard prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and entry hazards, so it can switch-in switch in ("switch in" the verb, "switch-in" the noun) numerous times without requiring Rapid Spin or Defog support. A Life Orb is the chosen item to capitalise on Magic Guard, increasing Clefable's damage output significantly.
Lastly, Speed investment could be run to outspeed specific threats, such as Tyranitar or Sylveon; 12 EVs in Speed allow Clefable to outspeed uninvested Tyranitar whilst 16 EVs will creep Sylveon

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can easily pivot into Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Lopunny, (ac) and dish out powerful hits immediately. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also pivot easily into walls that typically rely on status such as Chansey, Seismitoad, (ac) and Alomomola. However, because this set is not running any Defense or Special Defense investment, keep in mind that Clefable is not particularly bulky and thus cannot be thrown in onto (I think what you want here is "...be thrown into numerous attacks.") numerous attacks. Use Soft-Boiled on predicted switches so as to not lose momentum. (or "...to not lose momentum," if you hate splitting infinitives) If using lure moves such as Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, (ac) and Psyshock, one must pretend to not have these lure moves early-game and strike only when the opponent's guard is down.

Team Options
========

Because Clefable has various lure moves in its arsenal, Pokemon that appreciate various Pokemon lured in and KOed are ideal partners; Mega Pidgeot and Volcarona appreciate Clefable's ability to lure in and 2HKO Empoleon and Heatran with Focus Blast, whilst Fighting-, Grass- and Bug-types such as Mega Lopunny, Scizor, (ac) and Serperior value Clefable's ability to lure in and OHKO Talonflame with Thunderbolt. In addition, Clefable can lure in and OHKO opposing Gliscor and Landorus with Ice Beam, making Gengar and Landorus-Incarnate (from what I can tell, just referring to it as Landorus is preferable) not running that don't run Hidden Power Ice great partners. (this just for better readability, at least for me) Lastly, Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric appreciate Clefable's ability to get past Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss with Psyshock. Pivots such as Tornadus-Therian and Rotom-W can bring in Clefable easily with VoltTurn support without taking unnecessary damage.

Other Options
########

On the Calm Mind + Magic Guard set, various other coverage moves such as Ice Beam or Thunderbolt can be used to deal with various Clefable 'checks' such as Gliscor or Talonflame. Dual Sscreens ("dual screens" not capitalized) is an option to provide invaluable support to various sweepers on offensive builds, but dedicated screeners (in terms of standards, not sure if this is an accepted coined term) such as Azelf and Klefki outperform Clefable in this role. Knock Off is a great utility move in general to cripple various switch-ins such as Gengar and Talonflame. Rain Dance is a good support option to replenish rain on weather teams, as well as checking Fire-type switch-ins such as Talonflame, Victini, (ac) and Mega Charizard Y. Encore locks set-up setup sweepers or status inducers into only one move, allowing for easy set-up set up or switching opportunities. Stored Power is a good option as well to stallbreak much more effectively and efficiently; at +6 Clefable 2HKOs Chansey, which cannot be done with Moonblast, as well as slaughtering various Steel-, Fire-, (ac) and Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Heatran, (ac) and Talonflame, (ac) which Moonblast again fails to hit. (Moonblast fails to hit them) Heal Bell on the Stealth Rock set is also an option, clearing teammates of the crippling effects of status. Lastly, it is to be highlighted that Cosmic Power is a really bad move for Clefable, as it takes many turns to set-up set up and to do damage, and if you do manage to get 6 Cosmic Power's (no apostrophe) up, (ac) a non-STAB Stored Power still hits like a wet bag, not to mention Clefable is prone to being struck by a critical hit and knocked out. (you could just say "...prone to getting knocked out by a critical hit.")

Checks & Counters
########

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Talonflame, Victini, (ac) and Heatran can take Moonblasts easily as well as Flamethrower, and can threaten Clefable with strong Fire STAB attacks in return. Talonflame shrugs off Moonblast and Flamethrower easily, can shut down Clefable with Taunt, set-up set up with Swords Dance, and retaliate with Brave Bird. Similarly, Victini takes Moonblasts and Flamethrowers extremely well and can hit back with an extremely powerful V-Create. Heatran deserves a special mention as well, as it is quadruply resistant to Moonblast and immune to Flamethrower; in return it can deal lots of damage with Flash Cannon, wear down Unaware sets with Toxic, as well as phaze it out with Roar, but it is susceptile to Focus Blast and Thunder Wave.

**Steel-types**: Fast and powerful Steel-types such as Scizor, Mega Metagross and Magnezone can all come in on a predicted Moonblast and threaten Clefable with their respective STAB moves; Scizor and Mega Scizor deal a hefty chunk to Clefable with Bullet Punch, but dies (Scizor and Mega Scizor...die) to Flamethrower at +1 Special Attack; Mega Metagross easily comes in on a Moonblast or a Calm Mind and straight up OHKOes (OHKOes) Clefable with Meteor Mash, whilst Magnezone can switch into Moonblast or Thunder Wave and KO Clefable with Flash Cannon. Bulkier Steel-types such as Empoleon are big problems for Clefable as well, as it they can use Clefable as set-up setup fodder, phazing it out with Roar as well as wearing it down with Scald.

**Poison-types**: Poison-types such as Gengar, Mega Venusaur, (ac) and Tentacruel check Clefable relatively well. Gengar OHKOes Clefable with Sludge Wave, and can switch into any move bar Thunder Wave and Stored Power; Mega Venusaur can heal off any damage sustained, has Thick Fat to ward off Flamethrower and Ice Beam, and can 2HKO Clefable with Sludge Bomb, whilst Tentacruel can wear Clefable down with Acid Spray and Scald, (ac) and is not crippled much by Thunder Wave.

**Trappers**: Trappers such as Gothitelle and Wobbuffet (Wobbuffet) can really cripple Clefable. Gothitelle can trick (Trick? not sure if should be capitalized) its Choice Scarf or Choice Specs onto Clefable thus locking it into one move, use Clefable as set-up setup fodder with its own Calm Mind, heal off any damage sustained with Rest, (ac) and take out Clefable with Psychic; Wobbuffet can Encore Clefable into only one move, allowing for easy predictions or switches, and use Mirror Coat to reflect Moonblasts.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Gengar, Gliscor, Mew, (ac) and Heatran can stop Clefable from setting up Calm Mind and denies its recovery with Taunt or has the bulk to use it has set-up setup bait, and Clefable is pretty passive without a boost. Specially Defensive Gliscor can take any hit from Clefable bar Ice Beam, use Swords Dance to boost in its face, heal up any damage with Roost, (ac) and cripple it with Knock Off and Earthquake, whilst Gengar, Heatran, (ac) and Mew can use Taunt deny its recovery and use of Calm Mind; however, (ac) the former two despise Thunder Wave.

(I may have gone a little comma-crazy here, but do keep in mind that Smogon uses the serial comma aka Oxford.)

Man. Definitely need another eye on this. Not that it's bad, just that I'm very new and it's a lot of text to look over.

I apologize if anything is unclear, please PM or VM me if you have any questions, especially when it comes to my slightly rambling comments.

Clefable rose to stardom in XY, and it has since been a dominating dominant force of in the balanced playstyle. Boasting a good defensive Fairy-typing in Fairy, leaving it open only to the more uncommon (Bisharp, Mega-Metagross, Mega-Scizor, Mega Venusaur, Jirachi, Excadrill, Gengar etc are all very common) Steel- and Poison-types. (RC) Coupled (capitalize) with two stellar abilities in Magic Guard and Unaware, (AC) making it extremely versatile, capable of fulfilling many different roles on a team. In addition, access to Clefable's decent bulk lets it take on many threatening Pokemon such as Mega Sableye, Mega Altaria, Mega Manectric, Kyurem-Black, Breloom, and Mega Lopunny. (RC) just to name a few, not to mention Its (capitalize) diverse movepool, consisting of plenty of utility and support moves, including, includes but not limited to, Calm Mind, Knock Off, Heal Bell, Encore, Thunder Wave, (AC) and Stealth Rock. Last but not least, Clefable is one of the best Stealth Rock users in the tier, (AC) as it can get past nearly all Rapid Spin users or and Defoggers such as Skarmory, Mandibuzz, (AC) and Starmie.

However, the queen of Balance balanced (fluff. Might want to replace it with just Clefable?) is not without its flaws. The advent of ORAS brought Mega Metagross and Mega Beedrill, as well as surges in usage for Mega Scizor, Talonflame, Reuniclus, (AC) and Stallbreaker stallbreaker Gliscor, making Clefable's life harder. Moreover, Clefable is shut down easily by Taunt, and without any Calm Mind boosts, (AC) is relatively weak. Clefable's bulk is also quite underwhelming in practice, making it unable to check Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Gallade, (AC) repeatedly. Despite these flaws, Clefable is still a defining force of the metagame.

move 4: Flamethrower / Thunder Wave
ability: Magic Guard
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
nature: Calm

Moves
========

Calm Mind is the crux of this set, letting Clefable boosts Clefable’s its Special Attack alongside its Special Defense stat, making it both powerful and bulky. and hit hard. Moonblast is the Clefable's obligatory STAB move and hits extremely hard after just a few Calm Mind boosts. Soft-Boiled is next, giving gives Clefable its much (remove hyphen) needed longevity on the field, (AC) enabling it to check threats with much more ease easier. Lastly, Flamethrower deals with the Steel-types that resist Moonblast fails to deal much damage too, such as Scizor and Excadrill. However, there are other options as well. Thunder Wave is a great utility move in general and that can cripple many of Clefable's checks, including Talonflame, Scizor, and Mega Metagross.
Focus Blast can also be considered for its ability to hit Heatran and Chansey, two of the biggest checks to Clefable. (RC) whilst Ice Beam, at +1, is an alternate option to lure in and OHKO Specially Defensive Gliscor, (AC) at +1 who would otherwise check Clefable; however, (AC) Clefable misses out on Steel-types such as Scizor as a result.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item to increases Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better. The given Special Defense (RC) and HP investment along with a Calm Nature nature allow Clefable to, most of the time, avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-Black's Ice Beam, Thundurus' Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, (AC) and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. (RC, end sentence) whilst The given Defense and HP investment allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return (I think it’s safe to say that almost all Mega Lopunny run a Jolly nature), Latios' Psyshock, and Jolly Mega Gyarados' Waterfall; as well as it also survives the OHKO from a Choice Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch.

Magic Guard is the chosen ability to prevents Clefable from being worn down by statuses (both Toxic and burn can wear it down) and continual switch-ins switches with hazards on the field. (RC, add period) , and as As a result, (AC) it is incredibly hard to wear down. Running Speed investment is perfectly fine, allowing Clefable to outspeed opposing Clefable, Azumarill, Skarmory, Tyranitar, (AC) and Sylveon. (RC, AP) but will But as a result, (AC) it will lose out on the defensive benchmarks above.
If using a Life Orb, it is also impossible for Clefable to reach similar defensive benchmarks as this set, so an EV spread of 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpA with a Bold Nature nature can be used to 2HKO Chansey (I think a different Pokemon was intended here) with Moonblast most of the time, allowing Clefable to stallbreak much more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can be pivoted into relatively weaker attacks, such as Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt or Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but keep in mind that Clefable does not have phenomenal bulk and thus it cannot switch into incredibly powerful moves such as Choice Band Azumarill's Play Rough. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also be pivoted into status moves (Remove apostrophe) from passive Pokemon, (AC) such as Alomomola and Rotom-W, (AC) who generally rely on status are Pokemon that Clefable can easily pivot into and setup set up on. Clefable fits best on balanced teams that are, in general, looking for need a good sweeper, as it provides a great glues for the team together, and for its ability to check a wide range of foes. Use Calm Mind on foes that aren't particularly threatening to Clefable, such as Thundurus, Rotom-Wash, (AC) or Slowbro, or on predicted switches against the likes of Mega Lopunny, (AC) and Mega Altaria. (RC. Add period. Also, Nasty Plot Thundurus, Power-Up Punch Mega Lopunny, and Dragon Dance Mega Altaria are all very threatening to Clefable. You might want to use better examples like Mega Sableye, Mandibuzz, Zapdos—all of which Clefable can set up on) but But keep this in mind: don't get greedy with getting Calm Mind boosts or else Clefable will might (it's not 100% certain that Clefable will get crit) get struck by a critical hit and it is game over. If a switch into a Fire-weak Steel-types such as Scizor or Mega Metagross is obvious, it is better to use Flamethrower as opposed to Calm Mind to weaken the check. (Mind reading. Perhaps discuss how Clefable’s checks such as Scizor and Mega Metagross should first be removed before it attempts to set up?) Use Soft-Boiled to keep Clefable healthy and in a good position, which and also lets it setup set up easier.

Team Options
========

Because Fire-types such as Heatran, Talonflame, (AC) and Mega Charizard Y are amongst the greatest checks to Clefable, Pokemon that can easily deal easily with them are great partners to for Clefables. Relatively bulkier Bulky Water-, Ground- and Rock-types such as Keldeo, Suicune, Excadrill, (AC) and Tyranitar are great teammates to weaken or eliminate Fire-types for Clefable. In addition, Magnezone is an obvious partner as well, eliminating helps eliminate Steel-types that may trouble Clefable, such as Scizor, with ease. A Choice Scarf set is preferred so that Magnezone can soften up faster Steel-types such as Excadrill, Heatran and, (AC) Mega Metagross. Heatran, similarly, is a great teammate to for Clefable; (RC, add apostrophe) dealing with it resists the Poison-, Fire-, (AC) and Steel-types that Clefable may have has trouble with, as well as providing the much valued Stealth Rock support. (removed apostrophe, add period) it Heatran also checks Talonflame and a Mega Charizard X lacking Earthquake. Lures for various Clefable checks such as Specially Defensive Gliscor and Heatran are valued. Pokemon such as Icy Wind Gengar or Apicot Berry Jirachi are good choices for these roles, but remember not to reveal them too early.

Stealth Rock Setter

name: Stealth Rock Setter

move 3: Thunder Wave / Fire Blast
move 4: Soft-Boiled
ability: Magic Guard
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
nature: Calm

Moves
========

Clefable is a one of the best Stealth Rock users, (AC) as it can get past most Rapid Spin or and Defog users bar Tentacruel and occasionally Excadrill (I don’t think Excadrill has any problem getting past Clefable). Stealth Rock is a great support move in general, punishing switches as well as and deterring Fire-type Pokemon such as Talonflame from switching in and checking Clefable. Moonblast is the main STAB move and deals with the plethora of Dark-, Dragon-, (AC) and Fighting-types in the tier. Thunder Wave is an excellent utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Gengar, Mega Metagross, (AC) and Mega Charizard X/Y by slowing them down. Fire Blast is an option over Thunder Wave; it , and allows Clefable to muscle past Steel-types and a few spinners/defoggers spinners and Defoggers such as Skarmory and Excadrill. (RC. Add period) and It is chosen over Flamethrower for the increased damage output as well as its ability to OHKO Scizor 100% of the time (this is not true. Mega Scizor can survive a Fire Blast from Clefable with no Special Attack EVs). Lastly, Soft-Boiled is compulsory (I think obligatory sounds better here), keeping Clefable healthy to be able to set up Stealth Rock when needed throughout the match.
Knock Off is a viable option as well, removing items from switch-ins such as Tentacruel and Heatran of their item, leaving them crippled for the rest of the game. (RC, add period) as is Healing Wish is another viable move, which basically gives one of Clefable’s teammate sweepers a second life at the cost of sacrificing Clefable itself.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item on this set to increases Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better (RC) by reaching defensive benchmarks that without Leftovers is unachievable. Maximum HP investment gives Clefable as much as bulk as possible, and the given Special Defense investment in tandem with a Calm Nature nature allows Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-Black's Ice Beam, Thundurus' Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, (AC) and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. (RC) whilst The 172 EVs invested into Defense EVs allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios' Psyshock, Jolly Mega Gyarados' Waterfall as well as the OHKO from a Choice Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch. Magic Guard is the chosen ability to prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and continual switch-ins switches with hazards on the field.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Clefable's decent bulk, it can pivot into non-threatening Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Rotom-W and to set up Stealth Rock, but be careful not to overestimate Clefable's bulk. Try to set up Stealth Rock as early as possible because any chip damage on the foe is appreciated; however, (AC) keep in mind that Clefable does not need to be a lead, as it can set up Stealth Rock during the middle of the game as well. (RC, end sentence) but But it does have a decent matchup against select leads and anti-leads such as Garchomp and Mega Sableye. Clefable can also force switches against Pokemon such as Conkeldurr and Keldeo and proceed to set up Stealth Rocks by virtue of its typing and bulk. Use various coverage moves to ward away Rapid Spinners or spinners and Defoggers such as Mandibuzz and Excadrill from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks on the field. (RC) and use Use Soft-Boiled to ensure Clefable stays healthy throughout the match, and also makes to make sure that Clefable can continously continuously set Stealth Rocks if needed be.

Team Options
========

As always, Heatran has great defensive synergy with Clefable, dealing with the Poison-types, (AC) such as Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss, (AC) that Clefable struggle with. (Start a new sentence) as well as select It also deals with Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, and also provides Taunt support to stop the opponent from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks that Clefable has sets. Pokemon that enjoy having Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field are good partners to for Clefable; an example is Mega Alakazam, who needs having Stealth Rock up to secure certain KOs (provide some examples of the Pokemon Mega Alakazam KOs with Stealth Rock support?). In addition, Rotom-W and Tyranitar are good partners and that can deal with most Fire-types such as Talonflame and Heatran which all check Clefable. Latios beats Tentacruel, one of the the only spinners that Clefable fails to beat, (Excadrill is also a popular spinner, and Clefable can’t beat it without the proper support) as well as luring in and KOing Steel-types such as Heatran with Earthquake. Latios also appreciates Clefable's ability to deal with most Dragon-, Dark-, (AC) and Ice-types such as Dragonite, Weavile, (AC) and Tyranitar which that it would otherwise struggle with (I think against is the better word choice here).

Unaware Wall
########
name: Unaware Wall
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Heal Bell / Flamethrower
move 3: Wish
move 4: Protect
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Moonblast is the main STAB move that Clefable uses to deal damage, and to not be completely shut down by Taunt. Heal Bell lets Clefable utilize its good defenses to become a supportive cleric, as well as clearing itself of any status as because without Magic Guard, (AC) it is quite susceptible to it Toxic and burn. Wish provides reliable recovery (RC) and is used over Soft-Boiled, (AC) as Soft-Boiled is illegal with Unaware. (Remove apostrophe, add period) with With Wish, (AC) Clefable can also provide reliable recovery for the rest of the its team. Protect takes advantage of Wish, and is great to receive Wish healing, (AC) as well as scouting in general. Flamethrower is an alternate option for the second moveslot that and deals with various Steel-types such as Scizor and Excadrill on the switch.

However, if the team already has a dedicated cleric, alternate options can be run in the moveslot. Thunder Wave is a great utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Scizor and Heatran (I think Talonflame and Mega Lopunny would be better examples since they’re fast). Moonlight is an alternate way of healing, and it takes up only one moveslot as compared to Wish and Protect's two. (RC, end sentence) but But Moonlight has much less PP and is less reliable, (AC) due to healing a less amount in weather conditions such as Sand and rain, and also does not heal Clefable's teammates. Stealth Rock is a good support move candidate for the last moveslot to punish switches. Knock Off can also be used to cripple switch-ins such as Gengar and Heatran by removing them of their item.

Set Details
========

The 248 HP investment minimises minimizes entry hazard damage as well as any residual damage from status or weather Sand. Maximum Defense investment allows Clefable to check a variety of physical attackers such as Mega Pinsir, Landorus-Therian, (AC) and Breloom; but alternatively, Special Defense investment could can be used instead to check special attackers or set-up setup sweepers such as Manaphy and Mega Manectric (Mega Manectric is not a setup sweeper. No one uses Charge Beam on it). Leftovers is the chosen item to gives Clefable passive healing. Unaware is Clefable's chosen ability to ignore any boosts the opponent’s Pokemon may have has accumulated, making it Clefable a good defensive wall. It is to be noted that even if Knock Off is run, Clefable should still use a Bold Nature nature since Knock Off is not meant to do damage, (AC) but for the secondary effect instead is used to remove the foes’ items.

Usage Tips
========

Unaware Clefable is a great fit onto balanced and stall teams in general that are in need of a check to powerful set-up setup sweepers or a Cleric / cleric with Wish support. Do not overestimate Clefable's bulk; it cannot repeatedly check sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, or take powerful hits such as Crawdaunt's Crabhammer. Remember to keep Clefable healthy, (AC) so that it can check many threats later on, as losing Clefable could can be detrimental.

========

Heatran is a great partner, having great offensive and defensive synergy with Clefable, and deals with Steel-, Fire-, (AC) and Poison-types that check Clefable. (RC) and Heatran also benefits from Wish support as it does not have any reliable recovery of its own. Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Quagsire that can check other the Pokemon that Clefable struggle with such as Mega Charizard X, Talonflame, and Bisharp are great partners. Hippowdon and Quagsire are good partners, as they check Mega Charizard X, Talonflame, and to some extent Gliscor. Pokemon Teammates that appreciate Pokemon that Clefable can check easily such as Mega Pinsir, Mega Gallade, Mega Lopunny, (AC) and a multitude of Dragon-types are great partners, examples are Heatran and Latios.

Unaware + Calm Mind
########
name: Unaware + Calm Mind
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Moonlight / Wish
move 4: Heal Bell / Protect / Flamethrower
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Due to Unaware, Calm Mind allows Clefable to set-up set up, and due to Unaware, it can use on sweepers such as Garchomp for set-up fodder, which with Magic Guard, (AC) it could cannot. Moonblast is the obligatory STAB, providing great coverage in general against a multitude of Fighting-, Dark-, (AC) and Dragon-types. Moonlight is used over Wish as it frees up a moveslot and because Soft-Boiled as it is incompatible with Unaware it; however, (AC) Moonlight has less PP and is less effective during weather conditions, except Sun, which is a major drawback. Wish and Protect can be opted in place of Moonlight, providing more reliable recovery than Moonlight, the ability to heal teammates, (AC) and the latter also allows Clefable to scout. (Remove apostrophe, end sentence) however However, it Wish and Protect takes up two moveslots, (AC) which is quite detrimental since Clefable really enjoys having Heal Bell or other another coverage moves. Heal Bell clears Clefable and its team of status, as without Magic Guard, (AC) Clefable is easily worn down by status such as burns or poisons burn or Toxic. Finally, Flamethrower deals with Steel-types such as Scizor, Skarmory, (AC) and Ferrothorn, (AC) who take Moonblast easily.

Set Details
========

The 248 HP investment minimises minimizes residual damage, (AC) including status and entry hazards. Maximum Defense investment is used, (AC) so that Clefable can use physical set-up setup sweepers, (AC) such as Garchomp, (AC) as set-up setup fodder; however, (AC) Special Defense investment could can be used instead to set up on special sweepers such as Quiver Dance Volcarona, Nasty Plot Thundurus, (AC) and Tail Glow Manaphy easier. Leftovers is the chosen item to gives Clefable residual recovery to set-up set up Calm Mind easier. Unaware allows Clefable to boost in the face of set-up setup sweepers, a perk it has over Magic Guard.
Alternatively, an EV spread of 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe could can be used. The Speed EVs allow Clefable to outspeed minimum Speed Tyranitar. More Speed can also be run to outrun select Pokemon such as Azumarill, Sylveon, (AC) and Skarmory.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable fits in on more defensively-oriented teams in need of Wish and/or Cleric cleric support, or balanced teams needing a solid check to set-up for setup sweepers. Clefable can easily pivot into a multitude of threats such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade, and can utilise utilize the switches caused to set-up set up Calm Mind. However, though solid, Clefable's bulk should not be overestimated; do not repeatedly throw Clefable into powerful attacks. (AP) Be careful with the PP from Moonlight, as Clefable is often deadweight and useless without recovery. With Unaware, Clefable can win Calm Mind wars easily with opposing Gothitelle, Magic Guard Clefable, Slowbro, (AC) and Manaphy.

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-, Poison-, (AC) and Fire-types are beneficial to Clefable; Specially Defensive Gliscor and Heatran are good teammates in this aspect, as they can take on a variety of Poison-types, (AC) including Mega Venusaur, Dragalge, Gengar, (AC) and Tentacruel. Tyranitar and Rotom-W checks Talonflame and Mega Charizard X at the same time with ease (I don't think Rotom-W is a good check for Charizard X, especially the Bulky variants), which both Pokemon Clefable struggle with tremendously. Conkeldurr, Mega Gallade, (AC) and Mega Lopunny check Steel-types for Clefable; Conkeldurr easily deals with Heatran, Ferrothorn and Empoleon, taking advantage of burns because of Guts, as well as a few Poison-types such as Gengar because of it's its high defenses (Conkeldurr’s Special Defense is actually pretty low, but Assault Vest does make it bulkier). Similarly, Mega Gallade deals with Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn, as well as Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel, whilst Mega Lopunny smashes Steel-types, Gengar, (AC) and Mega Charizard Y.

Tank-Fable
########
name: Tank-Fable
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Focus Blast / Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
ability: Magic Guard
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
nature: Modest

Moves
========

Moonblast is the Clefable’s main STAB move and it hits quite hard with a Life Orb, dealing with the plethora of Fighting-, Dark-, (AC) and Dragon-types such as Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Mega Lopunny in the tier. Fire Blast allows Clefable to get past Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, (AC) who can shrug off Moonblast easily; however, (AC) Flamethrower is an option for more reliability in terms of accuracy. Soft-Boiled lets Clefable stay healthy, (AC) so it can consistently tank hits and dish out powerful hits of its own. Focus Blast allows Clefable to lure in and 2HKO Heatran and Empoleon, (AC) who otherwise wall Clefable utterly. Thunderbolt can be opted for and, similarly, lures in and OHKOes Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y (Even with a Modest nature , Max Special Attack, and a Life Orb, Clefable still cannot OHKO Charizard Y and stallbreaker Talonflame with Thunderbolt). Lastly, Ice Beam OHKOs Specially Defensive Gliscor as well as both Landorus forms formes. Psyshock can also be considered, (AC) as it deals with Poison-types such as Amoonguss, Mega Venusaur, (AC) and Tentacruel, as well as dealing more damage to Chansey.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment in the HP stat lets Clefable comfortably tank hits, and maximum Special Attack investment in Special Attack allows Clefable to hits hit as hard as possible. (RC, AP) and Combined (capitalize) with maximum HP, (AC) Clefable can both absorb hits and dish out powerful ones of its own. Magic Guard prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and entry hazards, so it can switch-in switch in numerous times without requiring Rapid Spin or Defog support. A Life Orb is the chosen item to capitalise capitalize on Magic Guard, increasing Clefable's damage output significantly.
Lastly, Speed investment could can (tense consistency) be run to outspeed specific threats (RC) such as Tyranitar or and Sylveon. (AP) An additional 12 EVs in Speed allow Clefable to outspeed uninvested Tyranitar, (AC) whilst 16 EVs will creep Sylveon's. (AP)

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can easily pivot into Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Lopunny and dish out powerful hits immediately. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also pivot easily into walls that typically rely on status such as Chansey, Seismitoad, (AC) and Alomomola. However, because this set is not running any Defense or Special Defense investment, keep in mind that Clefable is not particularly bulky, (AC) and thus cannot be thrown in onto numerous attacks. Use Soft-Boiled on predicted switches, (AC) so as to not lose momentum. If using lure moves such as Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, (AC) and Psyshock, one must pretend to not have these lure moves early-game and strike only when the opponent's guard is down.

Team Options
========

Because Clefable has various lure moves in its arsenal, Pokemon that appreciate various threats Pokemon lured in and KOed are ideal partners. (RA, AP) Mega Pidgeot and Volcarona appreciate Clefable's ability to lure in and 2HKO Empoleon and Heatran with Focus Blast; (RC, add apostrophe) whilst Fighting-, Grass-, (AC) and Bug-types such as Mega Lopunny, Scizor, (AC) and Serperior value Clefable's ability to lure in and OHKO Talonflame with Thunderbolt (Fact check. It can’t OKHO stallbreak TalonFlame even with 252 Special Attack EVs and Life Orb). In addition, Clefable can lure in and OHKO opposing Gliscor and Landorus with Ice Beam, (AC) making Gengar and Landorus-Incarnate Landorus not running Hidden Power Ice, (AC) great partners. Lastly, Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric appreciate Clefable's ability to get past Mega Venusaur (Clefable can hit Mega Venusaur super effectively with Psyshock on the switch or by surprise, but is not reliable versus Mega Venusaur, otherwise) and Amoonguss with Psyshock. Pivots such as Tornadus-Therian and Rotom-W can bring in Clefable easily with VoltTurn support without taking unnecessary damage.

Other Options
########

On the Calm Mind + Magic Guard set, various other coverage moves such as Ice Beam or and Thunderbolt can be used to deal with various Clefable’s 'checks' checks such as Gliscor or and Talonflame. Dual Screens screens is an option to provide invaluable support to various sweepers on offensive builds, but dedicated screeners such as Azelf and Klefki outperform Clefable in this role. Encore locks set-up setup sweepers or and status inducers into only one move, allowing for easy set-up set up or switching opportunities for Clefable. Stored Power is a good option as well to stallbreak much more effectively and efficiently; at +6, (AC) Clefable 2HKOs Chansey, which cannot be done with Moonblast, as well as slaughtering various Steel-, Fire-, (AC) and Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Heatran, (AC) and Talonflame, (AC) which Moonblast again fail to hit. Heal Bell on the Stealth Rock set is also an option, clearing teammates of the crippling effects of status. Lastly, it is to be highlighted that Cosmic Power is a really bad move for Clefable; (Add apostrophe) as it It takes many turns to set-up set up (RC) and to do damage, and if you do manage to get 6 Cosmic Power's up, (AC) a non-STAB Stored Power still hits like a wet bag, not to mention Clefable is prone to being struck by a critical hit and knocked out.

Checks & Counters
########

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Talonflame, Victini, (AC) and Heatran can take Moonblasts easily as well as Flamethrower, and can threaten Clefable with strong Fire STAB attacks in return. Talonflame shrugs off both Moonblast and Flamethrower easily, (redundant) can shut down Clefable with Taunt, set-up set up on it with Swords Dance, and retaliate with Brave Bird. Similarly, Victini takes Moonblasts and Flamethrowers extremely well and (redundant) can hit back with an extremely powerful V-Create V-create. Heatran deserves a special mention as well, as it is quadruply resistant to 4x resists Moonblast and immune to Flamethrower; in return, (AC) it can deal lots of damage to Clefable with Flash Cannon, wear down its Unaware sets with Toxic, as well as phaze it out, (AC) with Roar. (RC) but it But Heatran is susceptile susceptible to Focus Blast and Thunder Wave.

**Steel-types**: Fast and powerful Steel-types such as Scizor, Mega Metagross, (AC) and Magnezone can all come in on a predicted Moonblast and threaten Clefable with their respective STAB moves; Scizor and Mega Scizor deal a hefty chunk to Clefable with Bullet Punch, but dies get OHKOed by to a +1 (Pokemon don't die; they faint) Flamethrower at +1 Special Attack; Mega Metagross easily comes in on a Moonblast or a Calm Mind and straight up OHKOs Clefable with Meteor Mash, whilst Magnezone can switch into Moonblast or Thunder Wave and KO Clefable with Flash Cannon. (Sorry for the little nitpicks, but Mega Metagross's Meteor Mash doesn't guarantee a OHKO on Defensive Clefable. Magnezone needs a Choicespecs to OHKO a healthy Clefable) Bulkier Bulky Steel-types such as Empoleon are big problems is a big problem for Clefable as well, as it can use Clefable as set-up setup fodder, phazing it out with Roar, (AC) as well as wearing it down with Scald.

**Poison-types**: Poison-types such as Gengar, Mega Venusaur, (AC) and Tentacruel check Clefable relatively well. Gengar OHKOs Clefable with Sludge Wave, and can switch into any move bar Thunder Wave and Stored Power; Mega Venusaur can heal off any damage sustained, has Thick Fat to ward off Flamethrower and Ice Beam, and can 2HKO Clefable with Sludge Bomb, whilst Tentacruel can wear Clefable down with Acid Spray and Scald and is not crippled much by Thunder Wave.

**Trappers**: Trappers such as Gothitelle and Wobbufet can really cripple Clefable. Gothitelle can trick its Choice Scarf or Choice Specs onto Clefable, (AC) thus locking it into one move, use Clefable as set-up setup fodder with its own Calm Mind, heal off any damage sustained with Rest and take out Clefable with Psychic or Psyshock. (AP, Remove apostrophe) Wobbufet can Encore Clefable into only one move, allowing for easy predictions or switches, and use Mirror Coat to reflect Moonblasts.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Gengar, Gliscor, Mew, (AC) and Heatran can stop Clefable from setting up Calm Mind. (AP) and They also deny Clefable denies its from using a recovery move with Taunt or has and have the bulk to use it has set-up Clefable as setup bait. (RC) and Clefable is pretty passive without a boost. Specially Defensive Gliscor can take any hit from Clefable bar Ice Beam, use Swords Dance to boost in its face, heal up any damage with Roost and cripple it Clefable (for clarity) with Knock Off and Earthquake. (RC), whilst Gengar, Heatran, (AC) and Mew can use Taunt to deny its Clefable's recovery and use of Calm Mind; however, (AC) the former two despise Thunder Wave.

I kept like 95% of your changes, but for the ones that I didn't keep, I just removed them instead of commenting "no" after them because I thought it would get messy and confusing for OP. So, sorry about that! But if I took them out it was probably because of one of the following:

- only use "since" to refer to time ("I haven't eaten since noon")
- try to avoid using "and/or" because it looks kinda ugly and just using one of them usually gets the job done
- no comma before "so that"
- splitting long sentences is fine but when you're separating them at a "but", I would start the second sentence with "However" or something instead of "But"
- if you talk about a typing, it doesn't need a dash. so just "Fairy typing" is fine in the following quote. also, if you reread those sentences they're actually both incomplete haha
Boasting a good defensive (1) Fairy-typing in Fairy, leaving it open only to the more uncommon Steel- and Poison-types. Coupled with two stellar abilities in Magic Guard and Unaware, making it extremely versatile, capable of fulfilling many different roles on a team.

other notes:

- don't use "who" to refer to Pokemon; only use that/which
- Latios's, Gyarados's, etc. as long as you're referring to just one Latios/Gyarados. personally I can't really think of a time when you'd be referring to multiple unless you're explicitly saying something like "all Tornadus's wings are big" or something? but idk, this seems to be kind of a grey area
- when listing examples, try to keep them in order ("spinners and Defoggers such as Excadrill and Mandibuzz", "Fire-, Bug-, and Grass-types such as Magby, Paras, and Budew")
- weather conditions are not capitalized ("sand team", "rain sweeper")
- the lures!!!!!!!!!!

other other minor things:

- this is an apostrophe: '
this is a semicolon: ;
you were using them correctly but I think you mixed up their names haha.

on that note, remember to use these apostrophes ' instead of these . I think you're getting the latter because you're editing in Microsoft Word

- sometimes you forget to color in or bold your additions/comments. totally understandable for a super long analysis though and it's not really a big issue either way! just fyi
aaaand sorry for the excess of colors, DarkNostalgia, but:

Overview
########

Clefable rose to stardom in XY, and it has since been a dominating dominant force of in the balanced playstyle. Boasting a good defensive typing in Fairy, which leaves leaving it open only to the more uncommon (Bisharp, Mega-Metagross, Mega-Scizor, Mega Venusaur, Jirachi, Excadrill, Gengar etc are all very common) Steel- and Poison-types, coupled with two stellar abilities in Magic Guard and Unaware, (AC) making it Clefable is extremely versatile, and capable of fulfilling many different roles on a team. Last but not least, Clefable is one of the best Stealth Rock users in the tier, (AC) as it can get past nearly all Rapid Spin users or and Defoggers such as Starmie, Skarmory, and Mandibuzz and Starmie.

However, the queen of Balance is not without its flaws. The advent of ORAS brought Mega Metagross and Mega Beedrill, as well as surges in usage for Mega Scizor, Talonflame, Reuniclus, (AC) and Stallbreaker stallbreaker Gliscor, making Clefable's life harder. Moreover, Clefable is shut down easily by Taunt, and without any Calm Mind boosts, (AC) it is relatively weak. Clefable's bulk is also quite underwhelming in practice, making it unable to check Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Gallade repeatedly. Despite these flaws, Clefable is still a defining force of the metagame.

Moves
========

Calm Mind is the crux of this set, letting Clefable boosts Clefable’s its Special Attack and alongside its Special Defense stat, making it both powerful and bulky. and hit hard. Moonblast is the Clefable's obligatory STAB move and hits extremely hard after just a few Calm Mind boosts. Soft-Boiled is next, giving gives Clefable much-needed longevity on the field, (AC) enabling it to check threats with much more ease.
(RC) whilst Ice Beam, at +1, is an alternate option to lure in and (Ice Beam doesn't lure in Gliscor) OHKO Specially Defensive Gliscor, (AC) at +1 who which would otherwise check Clefable; however, (AC) Clefable misses out on Steel-types such as Scizor as a result.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item to increases Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better. The given Special Defense (RC) and HP investment along with a Calm Nature nature allow Clefable to, most of the time, avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-Black's Ice Beam, Thundurus's Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, (AC) and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. (RC, end sentence) whilst The given Defense and HP investment allows Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return (I think it’s safe to say that almost all Mega Lopunny run a Jolly nature), Latios's Psyshock, and Jolly Mega Gyarados's Waterfall, (AC) as well as the OHKO from Choice Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch.

Magic Guard is the chosen ability to prevents Clefable from being worn down by statuses (both Toxic and burn can wear it down) and continual switch-ins switches with entry hazards on the field. (RC, add period) , and as As a result, (AC) it Clefable is incredibly hard to wear down. Running Speed investment is perfectly fine, allowing Clefable to outspeed opposing Clefable, Azumarill, Skarmory, Tyranitar, (AC) and Sylveon, but it will as a result lose out on the defensive benchmarks above.
If using a Life Orb, it is also impossible for Clefable to reach similar defensive benchmarks as to those of this set, (phrasing is "same as" / "similar to". also, I added "those of" because we're comparing benchmarks to benchmarks, not benchmarks to sets) so an EV spread of 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpA with a Bold Nature nature can be used to 2HKO Chansey (I think a different Pokemon was intended here) with Moonblast most of the time, allowing Clefable to stallbreak much more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

(OP, you can keep that if you want, but it doesn't really look super necessary imo) Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also be pivoted into status moves (Remove semicolon) from passive Pokemon, (AC) such as Alomomola and Rotom-W, (AC) who which generally rely on status are Pokemon that Clefable can easily pivot into and setup set up on. Clefable fits best on balanced teams that are, in general, looking for need a good sweeper, as it provides a great glues for the team together with for its ability to check a wide range of foes. Use Calm Mind on foes that aren't particularly (can keep) threatening to Clefable, such as Thundurus, Rotom-Wash, (AC) or Slowbro, or on predicted switches against the likes of Mega Lopunny, (AC) and Mega Altaria. (RC. Add period. Also, Nasty Plot Thundurus, Power-Up Punch Mega Lopunny, and Dragon Dance Mega Altaria are all very threatening to Clefable. You might want to use better examples like Mega Sableye, Mandibuzz, Zapdos—all of which Clefable can set up on) (idk ;_; if the "predicted switches" stuff is important you can keep that? the commas and Mega stuff is all correct though so do those) but But keep this in mind: don't get greedy with getting Calm Mind boosts or else Clefable will might (it's not 100% certain that Clefable will get crit) get struck by a critical hit and it is game over.

========

Because Fire-types such as Heatran, Talonflame, (AC) and Mega Charizard Y are amongst the greatest checks to Clefable, Pokemon that can easily deal easily with them are great partners to for Clefables. Relatively bulkier bulky Water-, Ground-, (AC) and Rock-types such as Keldeo, Suicune, Excadrill, (AC) and Tyranitar are great teammates to weaken or eliminate Fire-types for Clefable. In addition, Magnezone is an obvious partner as well, eliminating helps eliminate Steel-types that may trouble Clefable, such as Scizor, with ease. A Choice Scarf set is preferred so that Magnezone can soften up faster Steel-types such as Excadrill, Heatran, (AC) and Mega Metagross. Heatran, similarly, is a great teammate to for Clefable; (RC, add semicolon) dealing with it resists the Poison-, Fire-, (AC) and Steel-types attacks that Clefable may have has trouble with, as well as providing much-valued Stealth Rock support. (removed semicolon, add period) it Heatran also checks Talonflame and Mega Charizard X lacking Earthquake. Lures for various Clefable checks such as Specially Defensive Gliscor and Heatran are valued. (just fyi lures are Pokemon that encourage certain foes to switch in. think about it like...the hook doesn't lure in the fish, the bait does. so if you are talking about Pokemon that SpD Gliscor and Heatran like to switch into, this is fine; otherwise it's wrong) Pokemon such as Icy Wind Gengar or and Apicot Berry Jirachi are good choices for these roles, but remember not to reveal them too early.

move 3: Thunder Wave / Fire Blast
move 4: Soft-Boiled
ability: Magic Guard
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
nature: Calm

Moves
========

Thunder Wave is an excellent utility move, crippling switch-ins such as Gengar, Mega Metagross, (AC) and Mega Charizard X/Y (I'd go with "Mega Charizard X and Y") by slowing them down. Fire Blast is an option over Thunder Wave; it , and allows Clefable to muscle past Steel-types and a few spinners/defoggers Defoggers and spinners (match the order with the examples) such as Skarmory and Excadrill. (RC. Add period) and It is chosen over Flamethrower for the increased damage output as well as its ability to OHKO Scizor 100% of the time (this is not true. Mega Scizor can survive a Fire Blast from Clefable with no Special Attack EVs). Lastly, Soft-Boiled is compulsory (I think obligatory sounds better here), (both fine imo?) keeping Clefable healthy to be able to set up Stealth Rock when needed throughout the match.
Knock Off is a viable option as well, removing items from switch-ins such as Tentacruel and Heatran of their item, leaving them crippled for the rest of the game. (RC, add period) as is Healing Wish is another viable move, which basically gives one of Clefable's teammates sweepers a second life at the cost of sacrificing Clefable itself.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the chosen item on this set to increases Clefable's longevity and allows it to check many Pokemon much better (RC) by reaching defensive benchmarks that, (comma) without Leftovers, are is unachievable. Maximum HP investment gives Clefable as much as bulk as possible, and the given Special Defense investment in tandem with a Calm Nature nature allows Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Mild Life Orb Kyurem-Black's Ice Beam, Thundurus's Thunderbolt, Mega Diancie's Moonblast, (AC) and Mega Manectric's Thunderbolt. (RC) whilst The 172 EVs invested into Defense EVs allow Clefable to avoid the 2HKO from Jolly Mega Lopunny's Return, Latios's Psyshock, and Jolly Mega Gyarados's Waterfall as well as the OHKO from Choice Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch. Magic Guard is the chosen ability to prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and continual switch-ins switches with entry hazards on the field.

Usage Tips
========

(RC, end sentence) but However, it does have a decent matchup against select leads and anti-leads such as Garchomp and Mega Sableye. Clefable can also force switches against Pokemon such as Conkeldurr and Keldeo and proceed to set up Stealth Rocks by virtue of its typing and bulk. Use various coverage moves to ward away Rapid Spinners or spinners and Defoggers such as Excadrill and Mandibuzz and Excadrill from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks on the field. (RC) and use Use Soft-Boiled to ensure Clefable stays healthy throughout the match, (remove comma) and also makes to make sure that Clefable can continously continuously (continuously means more like...constantly...so I'd go with "continually" here instead) set Stealth Rocks if needed be.

Team Options
========

As always, Heatran has great defensive synergy with Clefable, dealing with the Poison-types, (AC) such as Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss, (AC) that Clefable struggles with as well as select Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, and. It also provides Taunt support to stop the opponent from getting rid of the Stealth Rocks that Clefable has sets. Pokemon that enjoy having Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field are good partners to for Clefable; an example is Mega Alakazam, who which needs having Stealth Rock up to secure certain KOs (provide some examples of the Pokemon Mega Alakazam KOs with Stealth Rock support?). In addition, Rotom-W and Tyranitar are good partners and that can deal with most Fire-types such as Talonflame and Heatran which all check Clefable. Latios beats Tentacruel, one of the the only spinners that Clefable fails to beat, (Excadrill is also a popular spinner, and Clefable can’t beat it without the proper support) as well as luring in and KOing Steel-types such as Heatran and KOing them with Earthquake. (Earthquake does not lure in Heatran) Latios also appreciates Clefable's ability to deal with most Dragon-, Dark-, (AC) and Ice-types such as Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Weavile, (comma) which it would otherwise struggle with (I think against is the better word choice here).

Unaware Wall
########
name: Unaware Wall
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Heal Bell / Flamethrower
move 3: Wish
move 4: Protect
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Moonblast is the main STAB move that Clefable uses to deal damage, (remove comma) and to not be completely shut down by Taunt. Heal Bell lets Clefable utilize its good defenses to become a supportive cleric, as well as clearing itself of any status as because without Magic Guard, (AC) it is quite susceptible to it Toxic and burn. Wish provides reliable recovery for Clefable and its team (RC) and is used over Soft-Boiled, (AC) as Soft-Boiled is illegal with Unaware. (Remove semicolon, add period) with Wish Clefable can also provide reliable recovery for the rest of the team. Protect takes advantage of Wish, and is great to receive for safely receiving Wish healing as well as and for scouting in general.

(RC, end sentence) but However, Moonlight has much less fewer PP and is less reliable, (AC) due to healing a less amount in weather conditions such as Sand and rain, and it also does not heal Clefable's teammates. Stealth Rock is a good support move candidate for the last moveslot to punish switches. Knock Off can also be used to cripple switch-ins such as Gengar and Heatran by removing them of their item. (that phrase doesn't work like that; you were probably thinking of "depriving/stripping them of their item" or something)

Set Details
========

(I think they meant MegaMan is a special attacker and Manaphy is a setup sweeper? OP, if that's the case, switch them around to match the order. otherwise uhh idk) Leftovers is the chosen item to gives Clefable passive healing. Unaware is Clefable's chosen ability to ignore any boosts the opponent's Pokemon may have has accumulated, making it Clefable a good defensive wall. It is to be noted that even if Knock Off is run, Clefable should still use a Bold Nature nature, because since Knock Off is not meant to do damage but for the secondary effect instead is used to remove the foes' items.

Usage Tips
========

Unaware Clefable is a great fit onto balanced and stall teams in general that are in need of a check to powerful set-up setup sweepers or a Cleric / cleric with Wish support. Do not overestimate Clefable's bulk; it cannot repeatedly check sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, (remove comma) or take powerful hits such as Crawdaunt's Crabhammer. Remember to keep Clefable healthy so that it can check many threats later on, as losing Clefable could can be detrimental. Pivot Clefable in onto weaker hits such as Heatran's Lava Plume, (remove comma) and take advantage of the switches Clefable forces to use support moves such as Heal Bell or Wish.

However, Clefable may potentially become overloaded if using Heal Bell as it will be expected to double as both a cleric and a wall. (not too sure why WQ crossed this out, but if you do keep it I think it should go in the Moves section?)

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-types such as Scizor and Excadrill is extremely beneficial to Clefable; Magnezone can trap and kill KO Steel-types effectively with Hidden Power Fire, as can various lures such as Hidden Power Fire or Earthquake Latios and Apicot Berry Jirachi. Heatran is a great partner, having great offensive and defensive synergy with Clefable, and deals with Steel-, Fire-, (AC) and Poison-types that check Clefable. (RC) and Heatran also benefits from Wish support, (comma) as it does not have any reliable recovery of its own. Pokemon Teammates that appreciate Pokemon that Clefable's ability to easily can check easily foes such as Mega Pinsir, Mega Gallade, Mega Lopunny, (AC) and a multitude of Dragon-types are great partners,; (change comma to semicolon) examples are Heatran and Latios. (there seemed to be words missing there; hopefully my changes are in line with what you meant?)

Unaware + Calm Mind
########
name: Unaware + Calm Mind
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Moonlight / Wish
move 4: Heal Bell / Protect / Flamethrower
ability: Unaware
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Due to Unaware, Calm Mind allows Clefable can to set-up set up, and due to Unaware, it can use Calm Mind on sweepers such as Garchomp for set-up fodder, which with Magic Guard it could cannot do with Magic Guard. Moonblast is the obligatory STAB move, providing great coverage in general against a multitude of Fighting-, Dark-, (AC) and Dragon-types. Moonlight is used over Wish, (comma) as it frees up a moveslot and Soft-Boiled as it is incompatible with Unaware it; however, (AC) Moonlight has less fewer PP and is less effective during under most weather conditions, which is a major drawback. Wish and Protect can be opted in place of Moonlight, providing more reliable recovery than Moonlight, the ability to heal teammates, (AC) and the latter also allows Clefable the ability to scout. (changed that to make it parallel. providing [noun] [noun] [noun]) (Remove semicolon, end sentence) however However, it Wish and Protect takes up two moveslots, (AC) which is quite detrimental since given that Clefable really enjoys having Heal Bell or other another coverage moves. Heal Bell clears Clefable and its team of status, as without Magic Guard, (AC) Clefable is easily worn down by status such as burns or poisons burn or Toxic. Finally, Flamethrower deals with Steel-types such as Scizor, Skarmory, (AC) and Ferrothorn, (AC) who which take Moonblast easily.

Set Details
========

The 248 HP investment minimises minimizes residual damage, (AC) including from status and entry hazards. Maximum Defense investment is used so that Clefable can use physical set-up setup sweepers, (AC) such as Garchomp, (AC) as set-up setup fodder; however, (AC) Special Defense investment could can be used instead to set up on special sweepers such as Quiver Dance Volcarona, Nasty Plot Thundurus, (AC) and Tail Glow Manaphy easier.
The Speed EVs to allow Clefable to outspeed minimum Speed Tyranitar. More Speed can also be run to outrun select Pokemon such as Azumarill, Sylveon, (AC) and Skarmory.

Usage Tips
========

Clefable fits in on more defensively-oriented (no hyphen I think... we don't say happily-married so I don't think the [adverb adjective] pattern needs the hyphen?) teams in need of Wish or Cleric cleric support, or balanced teams needing a solid check to set-up for setup sweepers. Clefable can easily pivot into a multitude of threats such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade, and it can utilise utilize the switches caused to set-up set up Calm Mind. However, though solid, Clefable's bulk should not be overestimated; do not repeatedly throw Clefable into powerful attacks. (AP) Be careful with the PP from Moonlight's PP, as Clefable is often dead weight and useless without recovery. With Unaware, Clefable can win Calm Mind wars easily with against opposing Gothitelle, Magic Guard Clefable, Slowbro, (AC) and Manaphy.

Team Options
========

Getting rid of Steel-, Poison-, (AC) and Fire-types are is beneficial to Clefable; Specially Defensive Gliscor and Heatran are good teammates in this respect aspect, as they can take on a variety of Poison-types, (AC) including Mega Venusaur, Dragalge, Gengar, (AC) and Tentacruel. Tyranitar and Rotom-W checks Talonflame and Mega Charizard X at the same time with ease (I don't think Rotom-W is a good check for Charizard X, especially the Bulky variants), which both Pokemon Clefable struggles with tremendously. Conkeldurr, Mega Gallade, (AC) and Mega Lopunny check Steel-types for Clefable; Conkeldurr easily deals with Heatran, Ferrothorn, (comma) and Empoleon, taking advantage of burns because of Guts, as well as a few Poison-types such as Gengar because of it's its high defenses (Conkeldurr’s Special Defense is actually pretty low, but Assault Vest does make it bulkier). Similarly, Mega Gallade deals with Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn, as well as Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel, whilst while (American English) Mega Lopunny smashes Steel-types, Gengar, (AC) and Mega Charizard Y.

Tank-Fable
########
name: Tank-Fable
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Soft-Boiled
move 4: Focus Blast / Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
ability: Magic Guard
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
nature: Modest

Moves
========

Moonblast is the Clefable's main STAB move and hits quite hard with a Life Orb, dealing with the plethora of Fighting-, Dark-, (AC) and Dragon-types in the tier, such as Mega Lopunny, Tyranitar, and Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Mega Lopunny in the tier. Fire Blast allows Clefable to get past Steel-types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, (AC) who which can shrug off Moonblast easily; however, (AC) Flamethrower is an option for more reliability in terms of accuracy. Soft-Boiled lets Clefable stay healthy so that it can consistently tank hits and dish out powerful hits of its own. Focus Blast allows Clefable to lure in and (FOCUS BLAST DOES NOT LURE IN HEATRAN AND EMPOLEON sorry for caps but ahhh that's not what the word means) 2HKO Heatran and Empoleon, (AC) who which otherwise wall Clefable utterly. Thunderbolt can be opted for and (ew passive), similarly, lures in and OHKOes Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y (Even with a Modest nature , Max Special Attack, and a Life Orb, Clefable still cannot OHKO Charizard Y and stallbreaker Talonflame with Thunderbolt). Lastly, Ice Beam OHKOes Specially Defensive Gliscor as well as both Landorus forms formes. Psyshock can also be considered, (AC) as it deals with Poison-types such as Amoonguss, Mega Venusaur, (AC) and Tentacruel, as well as dealing more damage to Chansey.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment in the HP stat lets Clefable comfortably tank hits, and maximum Special Attack investment in Special Attack allows Clefable to hits hit as hard as possible. (RC, AP) and combined with maximum HP Clefable can both absorb hits and dish out powerful ones of its own. (basically said that in the first half of the sentence) Magic Guard prevents Clefable from being worn down by status and entry hazards, so it can switch-in switch in numerous times without requiring Rapid Spin or Defog support. A Life Orb is the chosen item to capitalise capitalizes on Magic Guard, increasing Clefable's damage output significantly.
Lastly, Speed investment could can (tense consistency) be run to outspeed specific threats (RC) such as Tyranitar or and Sylveon. (AP) An additional 12 EVs in Speed allow Clefable to outspeed uninvested Tyranitar, (AC) whilst while 16 EVs will creep Sylveon's. (AP)

Usage Tips
========

Clefable can easily pivot into Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Lopunny and dish out powerful hits immediately. Due to Magic Guard, Clefable can also pivot easily into walls that typically rely on status, (comma) such as Chansey, Seismitoad, (AC) and Alomomola. However, because this set is not running any doesn't run any Defense or Special Defense investment, keep in mind that Clefable is not particularly bulky and thus cannot be thrown in onto numerous attacks. Use Soft-Boiled on predicted switches, (AC) so as to not lose momentum. If using lure moves such as Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, (AC) and Psyshock to deal with the Pokemon Clefable lures in, one must pretend to not have these lure moves early-game and strike only when the opponent's guard is down.

Team Options
========

Because Clefable has various lure (idk what to replace this with but yeah again these moves do not lure them in. I know it's not the same thing but is "coverage" okay?) moves in its arsenal, Pokemon that appreciate various threats Pokemon lured in and KOed (this "lured in" is fine because there's no "by [move]" here that makes it sound like that move both lures in and KOes certain Pokemon. so yeah it's fine here) are ideal partners. (RA, AP) Mega Pidgeot and Volcarona appreciate Clefable's ability to lure in and 2HKO Empoleon and Heatran and 2HKO them with Focus Blast; (RC, add semicolon) (the comma was actually correct there. if you want to use a semicolon, you'd have to change this "whilst" to "meanwhile" or something. OP, you could do that, or keep the comma and just change whilst --> while) whilst while Fighting-, Grass-, (AC) and Bug-types such as Mega Lopunny, Serperior, and Scizor and Serperior value Clefable's ability to lure in and OHKO Talonflame with Thunderbolt (Fact check. It can’t OKHO stallbreak TalonFlame even with 252 Special Attack EVs and Life Orb). (regardless, this should have been "lure in Talonflame and OHKO it with Thunderbolt". probably a moot point though considering WQ's comment?) In addition, Clefable can lure in and OHKO opposing Gliscor and Landorus and OHKO them with Ice Beam, (AC) making Gengar and Landorus-Incarnate Landorus not running Hidden Power Ice great partners. Pivots such as Tornadus-Therian and Rotom-W can bring in Clefable easily with VoltTurn support so that it can come in without taking unnecessary damage. (I think that's what you meant? otherwise ignore)

Other Options

On the Calm Mind + Magic Guard set, various other coverage moves such as Ice Beam or and Thunderbolt can be used to deal with various Clefable's 'checks' checks, such as Gliscor or and Talonflame. Dual Screens screens is an option to provide invaluable support to various sweepers on offensive builds, but dedicated screeners such as Azelf and Klefki outperform Clefable in this role. Encore locks set-up setup sweepers or and status inducers into only one move, allowing for easy set-up set up (it's actually "setup" here! cause it's a noun) or switching opportunities for Clefable. Stored Power is a good option as well to stallbreak much more effectively and efficiently; at +6, (AC) Clefable 2HKOes Chansey, which cannot be done with Moonblast, as well as slaughtering and slaughters various Steel-, Fire-, (AC) and Poison-types such as Heatran, Talonflame, and Mega Venusaur, Heatran and Talonflame all of which it fails to do with Moonblast again fail to hit. Heal Bell on the Stealth Rock set is also an option, clearing teammates of the crippling effects of status. Lastly, it is to be highlighted that Cosmic Power is a really bad move for Clefable; (Add semicolon) as it takes many turns to set-up set up (RC) and to do damage, and even if you do manage to get to +6 6 Cosmic Power's up, (AC) a non-STAB Stored Power still hits like a wet bag, not to mention Clefable is prone to being struck by a critical hit and knocked out.

Checks & Counters
########

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Talonflame, Victini, (AC) and Heatran can take Moonblasts easily as well as and Flamethrower easily, and they can threaten Clefable with strong Fire-type STAB attacks in return. Heatran deserves a special mention as well, as it is quadruply resistant to 4x resists Moonblast and is immune to Flamethrower; in return, (AC) it can deal lots of damage to Clefable with Flash Cannon, wear down its Unaware sets with Toxic, as well as or phaze it out with Roar. (RC) but it However, Heatran is susceptile (hehe great typo) susceptible to Focus Blast and Thunder Wave.

**Steel-types**: Fast and powerful Steel-types such as Scizor, Mega Metagross, (AC) and Magnezone can all come in on a predicted Moonblast and threaten Clefable with their respective STAB moves; Scizor and Mega Scizor deal a hefty chunk to Clefable with Bullet Punch, but dies they get OHKOed by to a +1 (Pokemon don't die; they faint) Flamethrower at +1 Special Attack; Mega Metagross easily comes in on a Moonblast or a Calm Mind and straight up OHKOs Clefable with Meteor Mash, whilst Magnezone can switch into Moonblast or Thunder Wave and KO Clefable with Flash Cannon. (Sorry for the little nitpicks, but Mega Metagross's Meteor Mash doesn't guarantee a OHKO on Defensive Clefable. Magnezone needs a Choicespecs to OHKO a healthy Clefable) Bulkier Bulky Steel-types such as Empoleon are big problems for Clefable as well, as it; Empoleon can use Clefable as set-up setup fodder, phazing phaze it out with Roar, (AC) as well as or wearing it down with Scald.

**Poison-types**: Poison-types such as Gengar, Mega Venusaur, (AC) and Tentacruel check Clefable relatively well. Gengar OHKOes Clefable with Sludge Wave, (remove comma) and can switch into any move bar Thunder Wave and Stored Power; Mega Venusaur can heal off any damage sustained, has Thick Fat to ward off Flamethrower and Ice Beam, and can 2HKO Clefable with Sludge Bomb, whilst while Tentacruel can wear Clefable down with Acid Spray and Scald and is not crippled much by Thunder Wave.

**Trappers**: Trappers such as Gothitelle and Wobbuffet can really cripple Clefable. Gothitelle can Trick its Choice Scarf or Choice Specs onto Clefable, (AC) thus locking it into one move, use Clefable as set-up setup fodder with its own Calm Mind, heal off any damage sustained with Rest, (comma) and take out Clefable with Psychic or Psyshock. (AP, Remove apostrophe) Wobbuffet can Encore Clefable into only one move, allowing for easy predictions or switches, and use Mirror Coat to reflect Moonblasts.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Gengar, Gliscor, Mew, (AC) and Heatran can stop Clefable from setting up Calm Mind. (AP) and They also deny prevent Clefable denies its from using a recovery move with Taunt or has and have the bulk to use it has set-up Clefable as setup bait. (even Gengar?) (RC) and Clefable is pretty passive without a boost. Specially Defensive Gliscor can take any hit from Clefable bar Ice Beam, use Swords Dance to boost in its face, heal up any damage with Roost, (comma) and cripple it Clefable (for clarity) with Knock Off and Earthquake. (RC), whilst Gengar, Heatran, (AC) and Mew can use Taunt to deny its Clefable's recovery and use of Calm Mind; however, (AC) the former two despise Thunder Wave.
