Colonize the Moon or Be the first person on Mars

With the rise of space technology and such, it seems like we may have the technology and resources necessary to do either of these within the Century. So, if you could choose, would you rather be able to colonize the Moon, or be the first person on Mars? I'd like to colonize the moon myself, it'd take too long to get to Mars for me, and if I'm on the moon I can still see the Earth clearly.
