[COMPLETED] Toxicroak

[Pros]

Toxicroak has a decent Attack stat.

It also has access to Sucker Punch, a priority move.

Being a Poison-type makes it immune to Toxic Spikes.

Dry Skin gives Toxicroak additional healing in the rain.

[Cons]

It is very frail; even resisted Physical attacks can be painful.

With only base 85 Speed, even Sucker Punch can be outsped by other priority moves.

Dry Skin relies heavily on the rain, which has been nerfed.

Dry Skin can also be a double-edged sword given the addition of a new Drought user: Mega Charizard Y.

[Set Recommendations]

Name: Swords Dance
Move 1: Swords Dance
Move 2: Drain Punch
Move 3: Sucker Punch
Move 4: Poison Jab
Ability: Dry Skin
Item: Life Orb / Black Sludge
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly

With nerfs to Rain Dance and Drought, as well as a shift in the metagame, Bulk Up has become less viable, meaning Toxicroak only has Swords Dance to rely on to maximise its damage output. Dry Skin still gives Toxicroak a Water-type immunity, meaning it can freely switch in on Water-type Pokemon such as Politoed, Tentacruel, and Clawitzer, as well as set up on Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn when they switch out. While the rain is active, Toxicroak has an advantage thanks to Dry Skin and Drain Punch, both of which allow Toxicroak to recoup some of its HP every turn; Toxicroak also gains STAB on Drain Punch, granting it serious power at +2 Attack. Sucker Punch has good neutral coverage, high Base Power, and priority, making it a great choice against most of the Pokemon looking to revenge kill Toxicroak. Poison Jab allows Toxicroak to hit Fairy-type Pokemon such as Florges and Sylveon effectively, clearing a path for any Dragon-types in your team. Even though Poison Jab is the recommended option, Ice Punch can be used in order to deal serious damage to opposing Dragon-type Pokemon and can hit Hippowdon hard. Ice Punch also allows you to deal neutral damage to Skarmory, but you often lack enough power to really take it out.

Because its ability relies on the rain being active, Politoed is the obvious teammate for Toxicroak, simply due to Drizzle. Magnezone and Dugtrio are also partners whose support Toxicroak appreciates. The first traps and OHKOes Skarmory, which fully counters Toxicroak, making its sweep under rain more easy, whereas Dugtrio traps Tyranitar and Ninetales, both of which are problematic for Toxicroak due to their own weather-altering abilities. Rotom-W and Scizor can also bring the previously mentioned Dugtrio in with Volt Switch and U-turn respectively; Scizor in particular has more power and slightly better coverage, making it very good at cleaning up any holes left by Toxicroak's attacks.

[Checks and Counters]

Skarmory is the best counter to Toxicroak as it will resist all of Toxicroak moves (barring Ice Punch) and proceed to OHKO with Brave Bird. Talonflame also OHKOes Toxicroak with priority Brave Bird, which outspeeds Toxicroak's Sucker Punch due to Talonflame's naturally higher Speed. RestTalk Gyarados can soften Toxicroak's blows with Intimidate and use Roar to phaze it out. Physically defensive Hippowdon can withstand anything Toxicroak throws at it and can OHKO back with Earthquake. Garchomp, Choice Band Scizor, and Salamence can all survive a boosted Sucker Punch and OHKO Toxicroak. Fast Substitute users such as Gengar can avoid Sucker Punch and then deal serious damage in safety. Sun-based teams are problematic for Toxicroak, as Dry Skin causes it to lose HP each turn, as well as causing Toxicroak to take more damage from Fire-type moves. Aegislash can set up on Toxicroak very easily, as it can also use King's Shield to negate the effect of Swords Dance.

Might as well mention that it's effective against Fairy-types in the overview. It's actually one of the best offensive Azumarill checks decent check, since it can switch into 3/4ths of the moves used by the CB set. Also, I'd appreciate it if you gave this analysis another look-over, since your grammar is pretty spotty at times.

QC APPROVED (2/3)

PK Toxicroak doesn't wall the CB set, it's just a good check but is OHKOed by CB Rough Play, which hits it for neutral damage.

Thanks for the 2nd QC. The 3rd is the last. Thanks PK!
However, yeah, It's only a good check of Aqua Jet or Waterfall.
Fixed some grammar issues.

You need to briefly mention teammates that toxicroak appreciates, just a few sentences. Like politoed as it sets up rain and magnezone which can trap skarmory etc.

[Set Recommendations]

Toxicroak @ Life Orb / Black Sludge
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spd Spe, -SpA)
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch(remove space)
- Sucker Punch
- Poison Jab / Ice Punch

In the new generation, the rain is has been nerfed, and a Bulk Up set isn't more viable anymore, then so Toxicroak has to rely on this set in order to deal more as much damage as possibile possible before the rain stops. Toxicroak can be truly dangerous after a boost. It is not too difficult for it to use Swords Dance find setup opportunities, and it can freely boost for example on in the face of Water-type Pokemon such as Politoed, Tentacruel, and Clawitzer and Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn when they switch out. While the rain is active, it's Toxicroak has an advantage,(RC) thanks to Dry Skin and Drain Punch, both of which allows it to heal its HP every single hit, and it has STAB on it Drain Punch, granting severe damage with it serious power at +2 Attack. Sucker Punch has good neutral damage, base power Base Power, and it's a has priority, that is activated when the opponent uses an attack move(untrue, also very weirdly worded). Also, Poison Jab allows Toxicroak to KOs hit Fairy-type Pokemon such as Florges or and Sylveon. Poison Jab is first choice recommended option, but another choice can be Ice Punch can be used in order to deal serious damage for example at to, for example, Dragon-type Pokemon,(AC) and hard hit Hippowdon hard.

Since its ability relies on rain, Politoed is a fantastic and obvious teammate for Toxicroak, because with Drizzle it can sets the rain, and since the rain in this new generation is nerfed, Politoed can run Damp Rock as item for increase the rain's durability from 5 to 8/10 turns(how is this relevant for partners). Magnezone and Dugtrio all are also partners whose support Toxicroak appreciates appreciated by Toxicroak. The first traps and OHKOs OHKOes Skarmory, which full fully counters all the Toxicroak's set, making its sweep under rain more easy, and Dugtrio traps for example Tyranitar and Ninetales, preventing them to from set weather anymore, because it can OHKOs both with Earthquake,(partly untrue and weirdly worded), both of which are problematic for Toxicroak due to taking away the rain that Toxicroak needs to shine. Rotom-W and Scizor can also support the trapping bring the previously mentioned Dugtrio in with Volt Switch and U-turn respectively.

[Checks and Counters]

Skarmory is the best counter of to Toxicroak, because as it can withstand to all its moves, then perform an and proceed to OHKO to it with Brave Bird. Also Talonflame OHKOes it Toxicroak with priority Brave Bird,(RC) thanks to Gale Wings that give priority to Flying-type moves and with its speed, it can ,which outspeeds Toxicroak's Sucker Punch of Toxicroak due to its naturally higher Speed. RestTalk Gyarados with its Intimidate can drop the Attack stat of Toxicroak, then use Roar to make the Toxicroak's boost useless can soften Toxicroak's blows with Intimidate and use Roar to phaze it out. Physically defensive Hippowdon can withstand to all the set and perform an anything Toxicroak throws at it and can OHKO it back with Earthquake. Garchomp, Choice Band Scizor, and Salamence survive to a +2 Sucker Punch, then and can OHKO it. Faster Substitute users such as Gengar can bypass Sucker Punch then provides to and deal some serious damages. Sun teams are problematic for it Toxicroak, the combination of Drought and Dry Skin, make it losing as Dry Skin causes it to lose HP each turn. Aegislash can boosts set up on Toxicroak very easily, as it can use also Kings Shield, dropping its Attack stat, forcing Toxicroak to switch out on a predicted Sucker Punch, causing its Attack to drop and hence forcing it out.

You made a lot of simple grammar mistakes, and a lot of the sentences were worded REALLY weirdly. To be honest, I'd want QC to take another look over as I think some subjective changes i made were right(and some of it was QC stuff) I'm gonna provide a c/p since it would otherwise be painful to implement. But please look over the diff, as the cp will be stuff i'm recommending ^_^

I don't mean to be rude, but having had a conversation with some mods regarding the quality of the original article, I will also be providing a secondary check. I'll also make mine CP'able. piikachuu, don't take this as an insult to your ability, but given how much of that analysis needed to be rewritten, it's better to err on the side of caution.

the way you changed it is fine, except for this

Dry Skin can also be a double-edged sword given the addition of a new Drought user; Mega Charizard Y

change the semicolon to a colon if this is how you want to phrase it
