This team is my first OU Drought team. I choose Drought as the weather because of the boost to Fire-Type moves, and I personally love Chlorophyll abusers. This team has done good and bad. Played about 20 matches with it, and I feel it is just missing something so I hope you guys can help me out!
At A Glance
Ninetales (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
Fairly obvious Drought set-upper. Can do some serious damage with Fire Blast and is used mostly for weather, and to bait other weather starters on the double switch with either Espeon or Gastrodon. This thing is a monster if left unchecked by other weather teams.
Espeon (F) @ Light Clay
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 244 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
I needed something for entry hazards and this is my answer. It also helps that it doubles as a Dual Screener, and I can usually get both screens off with this guys reasonable bulk and switch into something that can sweep better such as Lilligant or Haxorus, the latter being the one I switch to the most. HP Fighting is mainly for the coverage against fellow Ttar, Heatran, and Blissey but usually Psyshock will do more to Blissey than HP fighting.
Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
My revenge killer of choice. STAB Bullet Punch powered by Choice Band is a force to be reckoned with. I'm sure you have seen CB Scizors before so you should know what to expect from it.
Gastrodon (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SAtk / 16 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
This thing is a monster and has won me countless games. The somewhat odd set surprises many opponents who just look at it as a tank and try to wall it. ESPECIALLY Rotom-W. Rotom-W needs to get a new warranty after being hit with Spec'd HP Grass. That and Rotom-W cannot do anything offensive to it besides Pain Split, but you can work around that.
Lilligant (F) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder
- SolarBeam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
My Chlorophyll sweeper of choice. Sleep Powder to put the foe to sleep, then basically a free Quiver Dance even if they don't switch out. This combined with the Dual Screens from Espeon makes this thing a powerhouse. Considering replacing SolarBeam with Giga Drain but not sure.
Haxorus (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Outrage
- Earthquake
This guy will sweep just about anything that gets in its way with Dual Screens up. I can usually safely get a Swords Dance under my belt while taking minor damage, then get out the dust collector because I'm about to sweep!
Hope you enjoyed the RMT! Remember this is my first Sun Team in OU so please go easy on me ;)
