Manaphy
@ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 248 HP / 96 SpA / 164 Spe
Modest Nature
- Tail Glow
- Scald
- Rest
- Rain Dance

This Manaphy has no issue taking this core down. Between Rain Dance, Hydration, and Rest, Manaphy sets up effortlessly against Chansey. Once you reach +6, Scald is a clean 2HKO against the blob under rain, doing 50 - 58.8%. There's always the burn chance too. Aside from Whirlwind, Skarmory can't do anything and is fried by boosted Scald. Calm Mind Manaphy with a more defensive spread can also be used in place of Tail Glow, accomplishing the same thing despite the slower set up. Mono attacking Manaphy is the reason many stall teams decide to use water immune Pokemon like Seismitoad and Gastrodon now, demonstrating just how big of a threat this tail glowing monster is to the teams utilizing this core.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Taunt
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Keldeo is a pain for this core to handle. Hydro Pump OHKOes physically defensive Skarmory, takes a huge chunk of specially defensive's health, and walks over Chansey. Taunt has the added benefit of preventing Spikes to be set, or for Thunder Wave / healing from Chansey. Hidden Power Fire is run just as a general coverage to smack Ferrothorn / Mega Scizor. Icy Wind can be used if that floats your boat, but I don't use it. However, Skarmory does a ton with Brave Bird, so be careful!

252 SpA Life Orb Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Skarmory: 208-247 (62.2 - 73.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 309-367 (92.5 - 109.8%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 478-564 (74.4 - 87.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Skarmory Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Keldeo: 236-278 (73 - 86%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

LO Reckless Emboar

Emboar @ Life Orb
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
- Sucker Punch

252 Atk Life Orb Reckless Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 335-398 (100.2 - 119.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock which breaks Sturdy

252 Atk Life Orb Emboar Superpower vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 650-767 (101.2 - 119.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Not much to say: Emboar outspeeds and kills both monsters and has troubles only with Skarmory's Brave Bird if Sturdy is active. Once Sturdy is broken, you can send into oblivion this core with ease.

Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Foul Play

Sableye takes on the fighting types that can overwhelm the core, and it can cripple physical attackers with wisp. Knock off is nice for removing random choice items and life orbs so that wallbreakers cant wallbreak. Foul play lets you kill stuff like burnt mega pinsir at +2 and stops you from being SD glisc's setup fodder. Sab can also bounce back rocks, spikes, and tspikes all of which can wear down chansey and rocks take their toll on skarm if it switches in and out too much. Granted, the team will still be weak to common shit, but you have three more slots to fix that.

Lifted (Garchomp) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 240 HP / 176 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast / Endure / Toxic

Garchomp, especially if the team is running specially defensive Skarmory, is able to switch into strong physical attacks from the likes of Talonflame, Crawdaunt, Bisharp, and Infernape, which Chansey fails to take due to its low physical defense. In return, Chansey is able to handle special attackers such as Alakazam, Mega Manectric, Mega Diancie, and Latios. It shares pretty good typing synergy with Skarmory, being able to absorb Electric- and Fire-type attacks aimed at it. Garchomp can phaze set-up sweepers, mainly Gliscor and Talonflame, using Dragon Tail as well.

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Hidden Power [Ice] / Rock Slide

I just wrote a book about this pokemon in the viability thread and happened to see that he fits this core if the team isnt taking a full stall route and going more of a bulky offence route which is a good choice by me. This guy is mainly here for that damn horse keldeo which literally two shots the core quite easily with secret sword. Heres a calc to see how much Tangrowth cares about that hit 252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tangrowth: 171-202 (42.3 - 50%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO so with regenerator it effectively does around 25-30% based on rolls which is not bad at all. The other main draw is as a manaphy stop which is the other main pokemon that can quite easily overwhelm chansey.
0 SpA Tangrowth Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Manaphy: 306-360 (89.7 - 105.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+3 252 SpA Manaphy Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 294-348 (72.7 - 86.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
If you need it to it can take on latios for chansey
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tangrowth: 142-168 (35.1 - 41.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 199-235 (49.2 - 58.1%) -- 98% chance to 2HKO

Thats not all it does though, because depending on what you need done for your team tangrowth has a move to cover whatever tries to come in on it. Earthquake for heatran, Rock slide for spdef talonflame, hp fire for scizor and ferrothorn, and hp ice for landorus and garchomp.

Overall this guy is very solid and versatile and I highly encourage anybody to just give him a shot.

Subjugator

Banned deucer.
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast/Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Rock/Dragon Pulse

Mega Charizard Y gives this core the offensive backbone it needs to take on the likes of Kyurem-Black, Crawdaunt, Talonflame, Landorus-Therian, and Keldeo. With a Base 159 Special Attack, and boosted power from the sun, Mega Charizard Y becomes a blazing wallbreaker capable of tearing apart threats that would normally defeat this core. Because of the sun, Mega Charizard X lives a +2 Aqua Jet from Crawdaunt and OHKO with Solar Beam. Mega Charizard Y can defeat LO, or Specs or Band variants of Kube b by using Fire Blast or Focus Blast. Defensive Lando-T is defeated by a Fire Blast, Keldeo loses to Solar Beam, and HP Rock hits Talonflame. Mega Charizard Y is a great Pokemon that would be a good partner to this core.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge / Whirlwind / Toxic

Hippowdon is a decent partner for this core and helps deal a ton with physical attackers which chansey struggles against a lot. It also gives this team some rocks support and skarm can give spikes making it a pain for other mons to switch in. Hippo also helps the core deal with set up sweepers such as talon/bish and scizor as it can WW them out if they're at +2 making it easier for the core to deal with them. It doesn't even have to WW out talon as it can just SE and kill it. Hippo is a p.neat partner for this core giving it a boost to it's physical defence.

All the obvious ones are taken so ....

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower / Earthquake
- Crunch

Tyranitar actually helps to make this core better by helping to get rid of Gengar which makes this core cry. It also serves as a check to Talonflame, Zard-Y, Lucario, Kyurem-B and the like that try to prey on this core's poor Speed. Just make sure you pack an answer to Manaphy and Keldeo as well as a secondary answer to Mega Lopunny.

Infernal

Slowbro
@ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock

Pokemon like Mega Medicham, Charizard-X, Keldeo, and Talonflame all threaten this core. Slowbro is a good and durable response to all of them, and makes for a great partner here. Fitting in a win condition or form of offensive presence is appreciated on teams using Skarmory and Chansey given how passive the two are. With Calm Mind, Slowbro fulfills this to an extent by providing a potent win condition capable of taking on threats like Clefable. Its weaknesses to various special attackers is nicely covered by Chansey, who can also heal away any status condition Slowbro is burdened with. Skarmory can handle some of the physical threats Slowbro can have a hard time with, like DD Mega Altaria and Weavile, and take advantage of them to lay down Spikes. Mega Slowbro accomplishes much of the same and can also be used if the team is in need of a mega.

Yeah probably gonna be dropping new cores after work sometimes now because I don't like doing stuff in the morning. Laziness rules eternal. Speaking of that I realize I'm like 800 billion weeks behind on top 3 partners but I have formulated a plan to catch up on that

New core for the week:

Diancie @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power / Hidden Power [Fire]
- Protect

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance / Rock Tomb / Focus Punch

Mega Diancie's great right now pressuring lots of offensive builds with great dual STABs and offenses. It checks Latios, Talonflame, ZardX, Torn-T and mons like those for Breloom while loom threatens Sand, Lopunny, Azu and a bunch of ground and steel types as well.

Discuss threats

Infernal

Banned deucer.
Venusaur
@ Venusaurite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire
- Synthesis

Mega Venusaur is a huge issue for this core and one of the top counters in the game to both Pokemon. Breloom is completely walled by Mega Venusaur and easily killed by Sludge Bomb. Mega Diancie is also handled nicely and only manages 37.8 - 45.1% with Diamond Storm, letting Mega Venusaur switch in safely even with SR up. This damage is healed back comfortably with either Synthesis or Giga Drain, which hits Mega Diancie for a clean KO. A more defensive spread is possible if you would like to tank Diamond Storm hits better. Aside from this, there isn't much else to say since this pick is pretty self explanatory.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Bug Bite

Offensive Mega Scizor tears apart Breloom and Diancie with little issue. If Diancie doesn't have Hidden Power Fire, Scizor can switch into any move it wants to use and begin to set up Swords Dances freely or OHKO it back at any time with Bullet Punch. Breloom is outsped if running a Jolly nature and OHKOed by Bug Bite, after just a small amount of prior damage, or +2 Bullet Punch, whichever one it gets to use. The only threat this core poses to it is the rare Hidden Power Fire from Diancie and Breloom's Spore. Even if Diancie is lucky enough to get to +1 defense from Diamond Storm, it won't save it from Bullet Punch.

252 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bug Bite vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 196-232 (75 - 88.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 262-309 (100.3 - 118.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Diancie: 408-480 (169.2 - 199.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb / Hidden Power Fire
- Clear Smog / Hidden Power Fire

Amoonguss' typing, mixed bulk and ability unable it to counter both members of the core. M-Diancie is unable to 2HKO Amoonguss after SR and in return, it regains its HP with Giga Drain (2HKO) and Regenerator. Moreover, Breloom can't Spore Amoonguss and can't properly setup SDs (if it carries the move) since Amoonguss 2HKOes it and gets rid of its boost(s) with Clear Smog or can OHKO it with Sludge Bomb (+2 Rock Tombs does more than half though).
4 Atk Mega Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Amoonguss: 166-196 (38.4 - 45.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Rock Tomb vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Amoonguss: 260-307 (60.1 - 71%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

0 SpA Amoonguss Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Mega Diancie: 146-174 (60.5 - 72.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Amoonguss Clear Smog vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 144-170 (55.1 - 65.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Amoonguss Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 254-302 (97.3 - 115.7%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after SR)

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Hydro Pump
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam

Starmie outspeeds both Pokemon, resists Mach Punch and OHKO both of them with Hydro Pump and Psyshock respectively.

Serperior @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 SpD
- Glare
- Taunt
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Run whatever coverage you want, this set still takes on the core just fine. Although it can't switch into Diancie safely, taking a Rock Tomb can rock and makes Breloom wary of using it in general. Also, it's immune to Spore! I like Glare in particular on this set since it works well versus typical offensive partners of the core as well. Be careful though, as Mach Punch is strong. Leaf Storm does fare well though. Still threatening from all angles though. Calcs:

252 SpA Miracle Seed Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Mega Diancie: 362-428 (150.2 - 177.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Miracle Seed Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 134-158 (51.3 - 60.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Miracle Seed Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 267-315 (102.2 - 120.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Serperior: 134-160 (46 - 54.9%) -- 58.2% chance to 2HKO

PS: 1 Atk > 0 Atk for HP Ground.

EDIT: ayy, this is my 1000th post in OU ;o

Consumed by Darkness...

Beedrill-Mega @ Beedrillite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run

Mega Beedrill isn't the most instant Pokemon you think of that threatens the Core as you more than likely think that Mega Diancie can handle it. However that isn't the case as Mega Beedrill still plows through the Core with it's ridiculous Offensive Power and Speed. While Mega Beedrill can easily OHKO Breloom, it has a harder time against Mega Diancie. Mega Beedrill's Poison Jab or Drill Run only does about 80% to Mega Diancie making it have a chance to live if it is at Full HP, so Mega Beedrill would more than likely U-Turn to do some damage to weaken Diancie. Mega Beedrill as scary as it is can not switch in directly as it fears taking a Spore, or Rock Type attacks.

252 Atk Adaptability Mega Beedrill Poison Jab vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Diancie: 180-212 (74.6 - 87.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Mega Beedrill Drill Run vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Diancie: 180-212 (74.6 - 87.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

NP + 3Attacks Celebi

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain
- Psychic
- Earth Power

This is a variation of the NP + 2 attacks set but works in the same way:

Breloom is OHKOed by an unboosted Psychic taking little from Mach Punch in return:
  • 0 SpA Celebi Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 294-348 (112.6 - 133.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 252 HP / 148+ Def Celebi: 51-60 (12.6 - 14.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever
  • then Leftovers activates
Mega Diance (I used Timid nature instead of Mild to show how Celebi is effective) is cleanly 2HKOed by unboosted Giga Drain thanks to the recovery:
  • 0 SpA Celebi Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Diancie: 152-180 (63 - 74.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • 252 SpA Mega Diancie Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Celebi: 181-214 (44.8 - 52.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery (Hidden Power Fire does less: it is a guaranteed 3HKO)
Celebi dismantles this core alone and this happens not even taking in account the Nasty Plot boosts.

Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 144 HP / 112 SpA / 252 Spe

- Heat Wave

Torn with Iron Tail not only beats this core easily (as long as it lands Hurricane) but is a good lure for Diancie as well.

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw

I'm just saying, scarfchomp is a criminally underrated pokemon that can put in a lot of work vs many teams since it isn't common, therefore it is under prepared for, and it can OHKO many powerful setup sweepers at +1 speed like zardx, volcarona, Dragonite, and a shitton of random mons that run salac berry. This Garchomp is threatening to the core in particular because it OHKOs both members of the core with its STAB moves after rocks unless you get really unlucky with rolls.

252 Atk Garchomp Outrage vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 235-277 (90 - 106.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Diancie: 302-356 (125.3 - 147.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Heart Stamp
- U-turn
- Healing Wish

Jirachi is able to check Mega Diancie, switching into anything but Earth Power fairly easily. It also deals with Breloom fairly well, taking little from it's +0 attacks and being able to flinch it with Iron Head or Heart Stamp.
252 Atk Technician Breloom Bullet Seed (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 90-108 (26.3 - 31.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 Atk Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 99-117 (29 - 34.3%) -- 2.5% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Jirachi Heart Stamp vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 198-234 (75.8 - 89.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 130-154 (49.8 - 59%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO

252 SpA Mega Diancie Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Jirachi: 228-270 (66.8 - 79.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
