Hydreigon

tumblr_m83sdoBOa51qaven0o1_500.gif

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power

Thanks to an insanely high Special Attack stat coupled with two solid STAB moves, Hydreigon is a huge threat to this core. Draco Meteor 2HKO's Mega Sableye even with minimum rolls while Slowbro is OHKO'd by Dark Pulse and Heatran is OHKO'd by Earth Power.

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

Azumarill can set up a Belly Drum in front of any member of this core (bar Heatran if it uses Taunt) and OHKO them with the appropriate move. If it gets burned while setting up, it'll still be able to OHKO M-Sableye and Slowbro and 2HKO Heatran (there's a slight chance to OHKO it after SR). If M-Sableye successfully Snatches Azumarill's Belly Drum, Azumarill only has to use Belly Drum a second time to finally obtain its boost before surviving a +6 Knock Off (65BP since the berry will be consumed) from M-Sableye and OHKOing it back.
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 248 HP / 164 Def Sableye: 1032-1214 (340.5 - 400.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power burned Azumarill Play Rough vs. 248 HP / 164 Def Sableye: 516-607 (170.2 - 200.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 204+ Def Slowbro: 718-846 (182.6 - 215.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power burned Azumarill Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 204+ Def Slowbro: 359-423 (91.3 - 107.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after SR)

+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 606-714 (157.4 - 185.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power burned Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 303-357 (78.7 - 92.7%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Substitute

Very easily subs on all 3 members of the core, stacks DDs (except if Heatran taunts it, in which case it just Waterfalls and waits for it to wear off). 2HKOs every member of the core easily except for Sableye which can snatch a Sub or DD I guess? Swicthes in on anything that isn't status from all 3 Pokemon too.

I don't think I need to show you the calcs to prove that this Pokemon completely decimates the core with no effort whatsoever, you can probably take my word for it.

Blue Haze (Thundurus) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Focus Blast

Nasty Plot Thundurus completely obliterates this core. Not only does it outspeed all the members and can OHKO all three at +2, but it forces Slowbro out completely and doesn't allow it to set up alongside it. Sableye's Snatch doesn't really affect it as Thundurus can just spam Thunderbolt without having much worry, being able to 2HKO after Rocks. Losing its Life Orb would be unfortunate, but in the end it isn't super important. Even unboosted, Focus Blast 2HKOs Heatran. The best the core can hope for is residual damage from Life Orb or Scald / Will-O-Wisp burns, or possible a bit of damage as it boosts, but after that it's pretty much over.

volcarona.gif

Volcarona @ Life Orb / Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power Ground

Volcarona can easily set-up Quiver Dance on Slowbro and Heatran, only fearing Toxic from the latter, and OHKO every single member of the core once it gets to +1. Just don't set up on Mega Sableye like Volcarona normally do because Snatch lets it beat you (although Life Orb boosted Fire Blast at +1 OHKOes Mega Sableye). Lum Berry allows you to shrug off status but losing out on the OHKO on Heatran and Mega Sableye can be huge.

I'll have Serperior

serperior.gif

Serperior @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 SpD
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Glare

Easily destroys all 3 members of this core. No one can resist going to Heatran on a Serperior's Leaf Storm, then it gets bopped by +2 HP Ground. Slowbro and Mega Sableye are setup fodder, since Sableye can only burn Serp or Knock Off the Miracle Seed, neither of which will save it from certain doom.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Life Orb
Ability: Magician
EVs: 32 HP / 200 Atk / 24 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
- Psychic

This thing bops all three members of the core and isn't annoyed by wisp as much as hyperspace fury variants are. It can 2HKO all 3 members of the core at worst and in general is super threatening as well as threatening the team archetype that these mons fall under a lot in general.
24 SpA Life Orb Hoopa-Unbound Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 56 SpD Slowbro: 408-484 (103.5 - 122.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
24 SpA Life Orb Hoopa-Unbound Dark Pulse vs. +1 252 HP / 56 SpD Slowbro: 273-322 (69.2 - 81.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Baton Pass

Sylveon threatens this core very similarly to Mega Gardevoir in that it can OHKO Mega Sableye and 2HKO Slowbro and Heatran. It can also switch into them pretty easily, outside of a Sableye's Knock Off

252+ SpA Choice Specs Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 248 HP / 96+ SpD Mega Sableye: 414-488 (136.6 - 161%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Sylveon Hidden Power Ground vs. 248 HP / 192+ SpD Heatran: 280-332 (72.7 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Choice Specs Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 56 SpD Slowbro: 313-369 (79.4 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

charizard-mega-y.gif

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast / Earthquake
- Roost

Charizard Y is a great wallbreaker which often destroys balanced cores, and this one is not an exception. Sableye-Mega can't do anything, Slowbro takes 90% from Solar Beam and Heatran is 2HKO'ed by Focus Blast, and OHKO'ed by Earthquake.

675.gif

Pangoro @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Superpower
- Knock Off
- Gunk Shot
- Ice Punch

This core gets demolished by Pangoro (which core doesn't?) as the only thing Pangoro has to fear from this core is the burns from Lava Plume / Scald / WoW.

Mega Sableye takes at least 148,6% from Superpower, so even if Pangoro switches in against Knock Off, Sableye still dies.
Heatran with the current spread gets outspeed and take at least 154,2%, so he also is OHKOd even if Pangoro lost its Choice Band. Heatran also can't switch in against Knock Off.
Slowbro is also OHKOd by Knock Off with rocks on the field. Again, even when Pangoro lost its Choice Band, Slowbro loses when it switches in on Knock Off or when Scald doesn't get the burn.

altaria-mega.gif

Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 168 HP / 248 SpA / 92 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Fire Blast
- Roost
- Earthquake

Special Mega altaria OHKOs sableye and 2hkos the others and there's literally nothing any of them can do.

The normal EV spread of 248 HP/168 SpA only 2hkos sableye, which risks a burn which makes heatran more troublesome. It still beats it 1 on 1 though.

Got one
charizard-megax.gif

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Roost

obviously this mon takes care of all 3 member of the core removing heatran with EQ and thanks to sd can hit slowbro even harder as opposed to DD varients. No matter what mega sableye cant really touch zard-x and slowbro cant do much either becuase zard-x has roost. Here are some calcs:

252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 252 HP / 164 Def Mega Sableye: 138-163 (45.3 - 53.6%) -- 40.2% chance to 2HKO
Naturally with snatch zard-x cant really set up but d claw still has a good chance of knocking sableye-mega out before he has to roost.

+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 248 HP / 204+ Def Slowbro: 267-315 (67.9 - 80.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
2hko'd once a sd boost is set up which is not really hard as opposed to DD which takes two set up turns.

252+ Atk Mega Charizard X Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 456-540 (118.4 - 140.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
And naturally without a boost tran is ohko'd.
If anything zard-x would have more trouble removing sable then the other two memeber (exspecially if slowbro is missing t-wave)

heracross.gif

Heracross @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Facade
- Swords Dance

Guts Heracross switches into Sab pretty easily (be careful of losing Toxic Orb though) then proceeds to demolish the core. Megahorn OHKOs Slowbro and 2HKOs Sableye, while CC obviously OHKOs Heatran. Adamant is better against this core because it has a small chance to OHKO Sab after rocks, but Jolly is also good to outspeed other stuff.

252+ Atk Guts Heracross Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 204+ Def Slowbro: 440-518 (111.9 - 131.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Guts Heracross Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 596-704 (154.8 - 182.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Guts Heracross Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 164 Def Mega Sableye: 226-267 (74.5 - 88.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

0 Atk Mega Sableye Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Heracross: 57-68 (18.9 - 22.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after toxic damage

Alright time for another 3 mon core since we do 2 per week in this type of cycle. Also apologizing in advance for not even having the sprites for this or the last core in the OP ; I am kind of busy on weekdays so I'll make some time to do that and I'll find the time this weekend to start catching up on the top partners ;_;

talonflame.gif

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Brave Bird
- Roost

starmie.gif

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Recover
- Rapid Spin

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

Pretty simple balance core with speed control in Starmie and Talonflame's Brave Bird while Ferrothorn is the general tank. Spinner + hazard setter + stallbreaker/annoyer is the general premise and it's a FWG core which people seem to love.

discuss threats.

Thundurus

tumblr_m3ok1z8lgx1qd87hlo2_500.gif

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Taunt
- Focus Blast

Thanks to an insanely good offensive typing coupled with high Special Attack and Speed, Thundurus is a huge threat to this core. Talonflame and Starmie are both eliminated by Thunderbolt and Ferrothorn gets Taunted and 2HKO'd by Focus Blast.

uh magnezone :]

magnezone.gif

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

Magnezone may seem niche, but it is able to handle Talonflame (as it lacks Flare Blitz) and Starmie with Thunderbolt, and handle Ferrothorn thanks to the combination of Magnet Pull and HP Fire. It's also really cool looking ;D

Fever (Manectric) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Hidden Power Ice

Mega Manectric pretty much single-handily destroys this core. It outspeeds and OHKOs Starmie and, thanks to its Fire-type coverage, easily handles Ferrothorn, which would normally give it issues. It can't actually OHKO Talonflame from full health, but Talonflame has serious issues Roost-stalling, and a Brave Bird coming off of no attack investment does pitiful damage back, especially at -1 if Intimidate was activated, and with any prior damage it goes down. Manectric can also Volt Switch out of bad situations if it gets to -2 due to Overheat.

bisharp.gif

Bisharp @ Lum Berry
Ability : Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head

Comes in on anything from Starmie pretty easily, the worst it can do is Scald which is unlikely to 2HKO, and even if it does burn, Lum Berry just removes said burn, and since it lacks Reflect Type, Bisharp easily forces it out with the threat of Sucker Punch and can SD on it :

0 SpA Starmie Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bisharp: 117-138 (43.1 - 50.9%) -- 3.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Starmie: 320-378 (99 - 117%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

Once it does, the opponent's best course of action then is to switch to Talonflame and try to WoW it, however Lum Berry enables it to eat up that burn and OHKO back :

+2 252+ Atk Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 448-528 (124.7 - 147%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Ferrothorn is setup fodder; all it can really do is Leech Seed as Bisharp inevitably sets up to +4 and OHKOs it with Knock Off :

0 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Bisharp: 76-90 (28 - 33.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO (in a 1v1 scenario it can only get 2 hits, or one hit+Leech Seed, in before Bisharp gets to +4)
+4 252+ Atk Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 339-400 (96.3 - 113.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

I hate being mainstream, but...
006-mega.png

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze -> Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Claw
- Roost

Mega Charizard X eats this core for breakfast, and with a side of omelette. Thanks to its immunity to Burns and excellent typing, it can shrugs off any attack thrown by the trio and retaliate with powerful Tough Clawed Dragon Claws.

Vs. Talonflame

663.png
0 Atk Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Charizard X: 100-118 (33.6 - 39.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
006-mega-x.png
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 229-271 (63.7 - 75.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Mega Charizard X doesn't even need the Dragon Dance boost to put Talonflame in the danger zone. Talonflame can't even attempt to stall with Taunt and Roost, because the dark dragon can deal more damage than what it can heal and it can eventually setup with Dragon Dance once Taunt wears off, sealing the falcon's (and its partners') fate.

006-mega-x.png
+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 345-406 (96.1 - 113%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Vs. Starmie

121.png
0 SpA Starmie Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Charizard X: 99-117 (33.3 - 39.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
006-mega-x.png
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Starmie: 199-235 (61.6 - 72.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
006-mega-x.png
+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Starmie: 297-351 (91.9 - 108.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

A situation similar with Talonflame, with the difference that Mega Charizard X would have an even easier time setting up on it, since it can take a Scald effortlessly and strike back.

Vs. Ferrothorn

Uh... do we really need to ask?

006-mega-x.png
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 708-832 (201.1 - 236.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO (lol)

Sure, the Iron Barbs and recoil damage sucks, but just use Roost and get ready to continue your brutal assaults against the other two.

I got Mega Ttar
248-mega.gif

Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Dance

After a DD, this underrated monster just murders this core. Stone Edge rips apart Talon even if Tyranitar is burned, Crunch destroys Starmie since the one in the core lacks Reflect Type, and Fire Punch beats Ferrothorn (it needs to setup a DD before it can OHKO ferro though).

- Hidden Power [Ice] / Hidden Power [Flying]
- Focus Blast

Easily OHKOs beats Starmie and Talonflame, while 2HKOing Ferrothorn and OHKOing at +2. The worst it has to fear from the core is a Scald burn which can really kill its longevity if Rocks are up.

Victini @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- Zen Headbutt
- U-turn

Banded Victini easily OHKOes every member of this core and takes little damage from them bar Starmie's Scalds which Victini can't switch into. Also, Victini doesn't care of Talonflame's Taunt and Will-O-Wisp since it has no status moves and can't be burned respectively. Furthermore, Talonflame won't be able to effectively Roost-stall Victini out of Bolt Strikes since that move deals just over 70% to Talonflame on the lowest roll (fun fact: V-Create does actually more to a Roosting Talonflame than Bolt Strike).
0 Atk Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Victini: 109-129 (31.9 - 37.8%) -- 91% chance to 3HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Victini Bolt Strike vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 514-606 (143.1 - 168.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
Bold Nature
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Calm Mind
- Recover

Kinda a slow process but Reuniclus can beat this core. It sets up on Ferrothorn and Starmie who both can't really touch it and at +1 Psyshock 2HKO's Talonflame. Taunt is kinda annoying, but even if the opponent tries taunting and switching to Ferrothorn, Ferro can only get off a bit of damage before taunt wears off and Reuniclus can heal. And it still gets worn down by +1 Shadow Balls at the same time.

Some calcs:

Vs Talonflame
0 Atk Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 200+ Def Reuniclus: 100-118 (23.5 - 27.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 0 SpA Reuniclus Psyshock vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 207-244 (57.6 - 67.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Vs Starmie
0 SpA Starmie Scald vs. 252 HP / 56 SpD Reuniclus: 93-111 (21.9 - 26.1%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 0 SpA Reuniclus Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Starmie: 238-280 (73.6 - 86.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Vs Ferrothorn
0 Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 252 HP / 200+ Def Reuniclus: 112-133 (26.4 - 31.3%) -- 19.3% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 0 SpA Reuniclus Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 79-94 (22.4 - 26.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 136 SpA / 80 SpD / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Fire Blast
- Grass Knot

Mega Slowbro laughs off anything the core does and at worst 2HKOes every single member of the core with the appropriate coverage move. Even the CM set can work here but I use this one because the coverage catches people off-guard.
