Costume Combat
The New First Gen's Side Project. The Costume mechanic is made by Jerrytkrot, the maker of such TNFG, thus we shall give him credit for the original idea.
Welcome to the side project of The New First Gen, called Costume Combat. Here, we submit Costume Form of any Pokémon lines that haven't gotten one as of yet, and to make them adapt better to the OU environment (or if Uber or LC, their own tier). Although seemingly a combination of Mega Stone, Alolan Form and to an extent Z-Crystal, the Costumes had their own way to enhance the Pokémon in one way or another, be it a new role it can fully adapt, or simply make it better to make use of its intended role. The New First Gen's Side Project. The Costume mechanic is made by Jerrytkrot, the maker of such TNFG, thus we shall give him credit for the original idea.
Costume Combat Council
- S. Court (current leader)
- Samtendo09 (former leader and creator of this Pet Mod)
It is a form introduced by The New First Gen Pet Mod; the held items called Costumes are used to change the property of the selected Pokémon line and change them outside of battles, which includes their Type, base stats (including HP), Abilities and even get (usually, but no more than) five new moves!
The downsides are that it doesn't boost in BST as much as Mega Evolution does, and like the latter, they cannot hold items... but they can use Z-Move of the Costume Type (called Z-Move Type in Costumes) to compensate!
Appearance wise, their physical body does not change as much as Mega Evolution or Alolan Form typically permits, but they do wear such compatible costume as well as other associated accessories.
The Costume Combat is, simply put, to expand around this interesting mechanic, as in allowing every official Pokémon to have one, even those who got a Mega Evolution, Alolan Form or alternate form beforehand.
Rules:
General:
The thread starts with the Submission phrase, in which you are allowed to submit Costume Formes for up to five Pokémon lines at a time (including Pokémon that cannot evolve) until we get into the Voting phrase, where you will vote up to ten different submissions, and only allows three self-votes. You are not allowed to just self-vote. After that, a minimum of the top six most voted lines will be announced as winners (the maximum allowed are the tied top three) and will be in the Spreadsheet each and we enter the discussion on how each Costume Form of the Pokémon would work, its potential sets and counters. After that, we go for another round with the same procedure.
We will make sure that the length of each round/cycle will be generally the same.
Submissions: 7 days
Voting: 2-3 Days
Discussion: 2-3 days
Submission Format:
Please include the following information when making a line. As a reminder, one Costume Form for one Pokémon should also be shared with its Evolution and Pre-Evolution, as well as Alolan Form for all of them, if it had any of these.
Costumed Form Name (Make sure that it makes sense with the new Type it gains.)
Typing - (There is no limit of what Type it can have, and even make it from Single-typed to Dual-typed, and vice versa.)
Z-Move Type - (Unlike Mega Evolution, Costumed Pokémon can perform Z-Moves, but only one type, and while it can be in any type, we would recommend using one of the two Type you give to that Costume. You cannot make Exclusive Z-Move(s) either.)
Item - (Use one of the eighteen Default Costumes, or invent one if you liked.)
Abilities - (You can only give the same amount of Abilities that the pre-Costumed Pokémon itself can have. For instance, a Costumed Clefable line can have three different Abilities, but the Costumed Gengar line can only have one.)
*Custom Ability/ies* (If you invent or use Custom Abilities, or those from TNGF, we suggest to describe them here. We may have right to stop any more new Custom Abilities if we decided that we have too many of them. Also, make sure that they are not overpowered.)
HP - Health Points
Atk - Attack
Def - Defense
SpA - Special Attack
SpD - Special Defense
Spe - Speed
BST - Base Stat Total (Each Costumed Pokémon of one line can have +20 added to the BST, which means you can raise any stats until it reaches (BST + 20), for example, the Costumed Steelix can have 530 instead of 510. Don't make it way too min-max unless if you use a Pokémon with a really weak BST!)
New Moves - (You can give up to five new Moves. Cannot be made up Moves, but you can use those listed in TNGF.)
Design - (Describe how your Pokémon would look like while wearing clothing or wearings of any kind. Don't make it just a recolor or anything without clothing, as it could be mistaken for Alolan Form instead! A single clothing can be enough if it would be visible enough.)
Competitive - (Describe how it would perform in OU, or if already Uber, in their own Tier, and give a brief summation of its play-style, be it a fast or bulky sweeper, a stall, a wall, a cleric or even being versatile. You can also include a moveset, but this is an optional addition.)

General Costumes are non-Unique Costumes, and each is associated with a specific type.
- Synthesizer (Normal-Type)
- Power Band (Fighting-Type)
- Pilot Suit (Flying-Type)
- Compound Goggles (Bug-Type)
- Sludge Mask (Formerly known as Corrupting Sludge) (Poison-Type)
- Driller Hat (Rock-Type)
- Soil Slippers (Ground-Type)
- Mysterious Cloak (Ghost-Type)
- Imperial Katana (Steel-Type)
- Mage Outfit (Fire-Type)
- Swimsuit (Water-Type)
- Gardener Hat (Grass-Type)
- Tesla Coil (Electric-Type)
- Snow Treads (Ice-Type)
- Crystal Ball (Psychic-Type)
- Dragon Armor (Dragon-Type)
- Dark Cape (Dark-Type)
- Fairy Wings (Fairy-Type)
As you should know, like Mega Evolution with Mega Stones and Z-Moves with Z-Crystals, the Pokémon must hold the compatible Costume in order to use its Costumed Form, so it cannot hold an item such as Life Orb and Choice Scarf, so consider these before submitting and find a way to make your Costumed Forms that can function without any item.
Advices:
- Don't be afraid of decreasing one or more stats if you wanted to min-max! Try not to go overboard to the point of becoming too broken, and make sure that it still does totalize a +20 BST.
- Example: +30 HP, +10 Defense, and +20 Sp.D would make a total of +60 BST, so decrease either Attack or Special Attack by -20 and Speed by also -20 to decrease the total back into +20 BST.
- In general, do not forget that this is an OU environment, so I'd prefer you not make it too broken. If the Pokémon is already Uber, it is a better idea not making it potentially AG, as in way too overpowered.
- Unlike Mega Evolutions, you can have more than one Costumed Pokémon. However, only one Z-Move per team can still be activated.

Have fun with making Costume Forms, and most of all, be creative!
