Could this dragonite work well?

thunder punch does not seem that useful, outrage is fairly close in base power vs se (water types that's it, you'll use stone edge vs flyers obviously) and using thunder punch with choice items is asking for electivire boost = big ass problem on your hands

and minus thunder punch this set is simply done better by salamence or garchomp... what dragonite can do that they can't is run mixed sweep sets, like this choice scarf idea on the second page: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21698 (choice scarf on anything really isn't 'original' tbh)

You have far more EVs in speed than you need. You'd only need 48 to break 400 speed neutral. I'd sink some in Sp. Def., Dragonite is pretty beefy, and it might give him the edge over Ice Beam.

Did you forget about Dragonite's base 80 Speed? He needs a +Speed nature, 31 IV, and 200 EVs for 270 before Scarf, or +Speed, 31 IV, and 176 EVs for 264 before Scarf.
 
Can you switch whilst using Outrage?

I agree on the fact that Thunder Punch isn't very good. Does like 100 damage to Skarmory. Run mixed.
 
I don't like that dragonite build.. and recommend a bulkier one, only because dragonite WANTS to survive at least 1-2 hits, so he can dragon dance it up, and then sweep/kill guys with outrage and his other attacks.

Use Fire Blast>Thunderpunch to hurt Skarmory and Bronzong better (even with -nature). Thunderpunch only hits Gyarados harder, which Stone Edge covers.
 
The whole point of using Dragonite over Salamence is Outrage. Otherwise, Salamence does the set better thanks to Intimidate and its higher special attack (for Fire Blast).
 
Synre only said "thanks" because it had already been done. It's wrong in this case anyway, the "simple question" thread is inappropriate for questions like these. Do not minimod in the future please.
 
If you're going to use Choice Scarf Outrage Dragonite, why not just use Garchomp? I know Dragonite has T-Punch, higher SpDef, and 4 more base Atk, but I'd rather use Garchomp for Outrageing (unless it was a non-choice Dragonite with Dragon Dance)
 
Dragonite can survive an unstabed Ice attack, that's enough reason to use him as a Choice-something.
With 360~ attack, you have a shot at OHKOing Tyranitar with Brick Break if he hasn't any Hp nor def EVs, so it's worth consideration over Thunderpunch.
