NU Cresselia (2/2 QC) (2/2 GP)

[Overview]
Cresselia is easily the bulkiest Pokemon in the metagame, allowing it to take nearly any unboosted move and set up Calm Mind boosts on Pokemon that struggle to damage it. It's also able to provide great defensive support, checking Fighting-types such as Mienshao and Sirfetch'd and having the Speed tier to outrun slower wallbreakers such as Adamant Tyrantrum and Golurk. However, Cresselia can lose large amounts of momentum against teams with setup sweepers that don't mind taking a Moonblast such as Drapion, Decidueye, and Escavalier. It also struggles against defensive answers due to its lack of initial strength and severely dislikes moves such as Toxic from Salazzle and Bronzong for non-Substitute variants, Haze from Mantine, Encore from Salazzle, and Taunt from Drapion and Talonflame.

Set Details
====

Moonblast is used as the main attack due to having no immunities and allowing Cresselia to deal with Pokemon such as Guzzlord that would otherwise force it out. Substitute is used to avoid Toxic and Clear Smog from potent checks such as Bronzong and Gastrodon, allowing Cresselia to set up on them. Stored Power is an alternative to Substitute used to break through other checks such as Copperajah and opposing Calm Mind users. Moonlight allows Cresselia to set up multiple times in a game at the cost of either reliable coverage or Substitute. Colbur Berry can be used over Leftovers to handle Dark-type moves from faster Pokemon such as Mienshao and Zoroark and KO them back with a Moonblast. 144 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed slower physical wallbreakers such as Adamant Tyrantrum, Adamant Sirfetch'd, and Machamp.

Cresselia needs support from Pokemon that can effectively take hits from Dark-type moves such as Sylveon, Diancie, and Comfey, as well as take hits from Ghost-type moves such as itemless Vileplume, Guzzlord, and Braviary. Cresselia is aided by Pokemon such as Vileplume and Dragalge that can force chip damage on its Steel-type checks, as well as being able to take Toxic. Cresselia also benefits from Pokemon that can outspeed and force out common setup sweepers like Drapion and Escavalier that try to exploit it, such as Mienshao, Flygon, and Talonflame. Cresselia without Substitute is paired well with Heal Bell users such as Sylveon, Vaporeon, and Diancie, which allows Cresselia to have more longevity. Cresselia without Stored Power enjoys support from Pokemon such as Arcanine and Salazzle that pressure Steel-type Pokemon and to a lesser extent appreciates Pokemon that can pressure common Dark-types such as Sirfetch'd and Machamp.

[SET COMMENTS]
Psychic is used over Psyshock, as it deals more damage to common Pokemon such as Sirfetch'd and Vileplume. Thunder Wave allows Cresselia to cripple opposing Pokemon such as Copperajah and Drapion that switch into it, allowing its partners to more easily deal with them and punishing offensive checks such as Decidueye. Alternatively, Toxic can be used to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Mantine, Gastrodon, and Arcanine that try to get their own status on Cresselia, whereas Lunar Dance gives Cresselia the option to support its offensive teammates, giving breakers such as Sirfetch'd and Flygon extra longevity. Colbur Berry allows Cresselia to more safely switch into Fighting-types that run Knock Off, while going itemless allows Cresselia to hard check common Poltergeist users such as physical Decidueye and Golurk without Spirit Shackle and Shadow Punch, respectively.

This set allows defensive Pokemon such as Copperajah and Guzzlord to serve as better special walls, as it shuts down Fighting-type Pokemon that would punish them and creates a very solid defensive core with them. Defensively, Cresselia appreciates itemless or Dark-type Pokemon such as Vileplume and Drapion to check Ghost-types, as well as Fairy-type Pokemon such as Sylveon and Diancie that can aid Cresselia after Colbur Berry is triggered. Toxic users such as Bronzong and Mantine give this set issues, so it pairs well with common defensive Pokemon such as Dragalge and Drapion that can switch into Toxic, as well as Pokemon that exploit these Toxic users such as Decidueye, Silvally-Ghost, and Rotom-C. Thunder Wave aids wallbreakers such as Sirfetch'd and Tyrantrum, whose Speed tier would otherwise make them easier to revenge kill. Lunar Dance, on the other hand, helps faster allies such as Salazzle, Flygon, and Starmie that expect to switch into defensive Pokemon and take damage throughout a game.

Other Options
====
On Calm Mind sets, Kee Berry can be used over Leftovers to make Cresselia harder to KO and immune to Poltergeist after the Berry has been consumed at the cost of being less effective if it has to switch out. With Kee Berry, Cresselia can also use the a Calm Mind / Moonblast / Stored Power / Rest set. This allows Cresselia to recover and remove status while keeping both attacks; however, this allows the opponent to set up against your Cresselia and possibly try to land a critical hit while it is unable to act. Psyshock is an option over Stored Power on Calm Mind sets to beat opposing Cresselia that set up alongside you, as well as giving Cresselia immediate power against Pokemon that threaten it such as Salazzle and Decidueye.

Checks and Counters
====
**Ghost- and Dark-types**: Although Cresselia can deal with slower Dark-types such as Guzzlord, it is still often forced out by powerful attacks from Drapion and Zoroark without Colbur Berry, as well as Ghost-types such as Golurk and Decidueye if it has an item.

**Steel-types**: Although certain sets have countermeasures to break through Steel-types, their bulk and resistances mean that without the right set, Cresselia is forced out; for example, Cresselia without Stored Power or Moonlight is forced out by offensively invested Copperajah,
Cresselia without Substitute is forced out by Bronzong, and all Cresselia sets are forced out by Escavalier.

**Status Moves**: Cresselia's Speed tier allows it to be outsped by faster Toxic users such as Arcanine and Salazzle before it can get a Substitute up, as well as allowing it to be hit by Trick by Choice Scarf users such as Rotom-C and Indeedee-F.

**Setup Prevention**: Moves that either force Cresselia's setup set out or get rid of its stat boosts shut down Cresselia, as it has almost no way to break Mantine, Copperajah, Salazzle, Talonflame, or Drapion without a few Calm Mind boosts.

[Overview]
Cresselia is easily the bulkiest Pokemon in the metagame, sporting ridiculously high defensive stats, a decent typing, and a Ground immunity (fluff; high defensive stats aren't the most notable, and its typing + immunity isn't the point of running Cress because those are just mediocre like you wrote. Replace this last phrase with something more relevant by addressing its sets, like how the bulk allows it to be an impenetrable setup sweeper or great defensive support). This allows it to check Fighting types such as Bewear and Mienshao, as well as switch into almost any neutral unboosted move in the metagame. It also has a good speed tier, outspeeding offensive threats that pressure it such as Pangoro and Golurk. Calm Mind also allows for Cresselia to be used as an effective setup (remove hyphen) sweeper, using it's bulk to get ample opportunity to get Special Attack boosts. (This point belongs in the front, either after the first sentence, or condense it to replace the phrase I removed earlier)

(The overview is on the shorter side and it's lacking the cons of Cresselia. You should mention how setup sets struggle with their move choice, as Pokemon like Toxic Bronzong and Nasty Plot Salazzle take advantage of it if it's missing Stored Power or Substitute, respectively. Also mention the limitations of Cresselia's initial passiveness and how it invites wallbreakers in against it. Rephrase these points in your own words and include anything else you think is fit for Cresselias weaknesses)

Moonblast is used over Psychic Stored Power as the main attack, having no immunities and allowing Cresselia to deal with Pokemon such as Pangoro and Guzzlord that would otherwise force it out (I get that Psychic is a general attack for a mon like Cress, but in this situation the reader should more importantly understand why Stored Power is slashed and not Moonblast). Substitute is used to avoid Toxic and Clear Smog from potent checks such as Bronzong and Gastrodon, allowing Cresselia to set up on them. Stored Power is used to break through common checks such as Copperajah (Remove comma) and opposing Calm Mind users, allowing it to break teams much easier (you already wrote "break through" prior). Moonlight is used to give Cresselia a reliable form of recovery, allowing it to better handle checks such as Copperajah that can't do more than 50% damage while also allowing it to try and set up multiple times in a game at the cost of coverage (The reliable recovery aspect is implied with Moonlight, and the only reason why it should have a sentence here is because of the current slashes on the set. If Cresselia isn't running recovery, it loses multiple setup opportunities to gain both Stored Power and Moonblast for sweeping; that's the only point that needs to be made in this regard). Colbur Berry can be used over Leftovers to handle faster Dark-type (Add hyphen) moves from faster Pokemon (the moves aren't faster, the Pokemon are) such as Mienshao and Zoroark, and KO back with a Moonblast. 144 Speed EVs allows it to outspeed most notably neutral nature Adamant Tyrantrum, (Ada is the only neutral nature trum is running) as well as Pangoro and Bewear.

(Spacing from the two paragraphs) Cresselia enjoys Heal Bell support if not using sub Substitute, or Wish support if not using Moonlight, from Pokemon such as Sylveon, Vaporeon, or Diancie. Cresselia also enjoys Pokemon that can threaten Steel-types (add hyphen), such as Arcanine and Bewear. Finally, checks to common Ghost-types (add hyphen) such as Golurk and Decidueye help Cresselia, such as Guzzlord and itemless (lowercase) Vileplume.
(This is very short and should have at least 2 more points about Cresselia and good team support. You should mention wallbreakers that tear down its defensive answers, faster Pokemon that target Drapion and Zoroark, Poison-types like Dragalge and Salazzle that can switch into and punish Toxic users like Arcanine and Bronzong, ect.)

Psychic is used over Psyshock as it lands a guaranteed 2HKO on Bewear, as well as doing more damage to Pokemon such as Vileplume. Thunder Wave allows Cresselia to cripple opposing Pokemon such as Copperajah and Drapion that switch into it, allowing it's partners to more easily deal with them, as well as punishes offensive checks such as Decidueye. Toxic can be used to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Mantine, Gastrodon, and Arcanine that try to get their own status on Cresselia. Lunar Dance gives Cresselia the option to support it's its offensive teammates, offensively, giving extra longevity to (First part changed because Cresselia isn't offensively supporting teammates, that would be with offensive coverage, and I believe you meant instead that it supports offensive teammates. The other part was missing to make sense of this sentence grammatically) offensive breakers such as Bewear and Flygon that get chipped over the course of a game. Colbur Berry allows Cresselia to hard switch into breakers such as Pangoro and Guzzlord once and force them out, while No Item allows Cresselia to hard check Pokemon such as physical Decidueye and Golurk without Spirit Shackle and Shadow Punch (The two both may run alternatives to Poltergeist so may as well list both of their options).

(spacing) This set supports Pokemon that let Fighting-type breakers in, such as Copperajah and Golisopod, and is the best check to Bewear to support slower defensive Pokemon such as Sylveon and Vileplume which struggle against it.

(Again way too scarce. Looking for at least 5 more points about Cresselia, especially as this set has different teammates and goals compared to setup one. I gave you some pointers on how to complete the previous paragraph but I'm leaving this one up to you as it would be way too much of my influence here if I tried to fill in the blanks.)

On Calm Mind Cresselia, Kee Berry can be used over Leftovers to make it harder to kill, at the downside of only having a single chance to set up (this implies Cresselia cannot setup without Kee Berry's effect, and that's the wrong intention as it just has a harder time without it. That's the main reason why it's less viable than Leftovers and should be written here instead). With Kee Berry, Cresselia can also use Rest over both Substitute and Moonlight to recover and remove status; however, this allows the opponent to set up against your Cresselia, and possibly try to land a critical hit while Cresselia is unable to act. Psyshock is an option over Stored Power on Calm Mind sets to beat opposing Cresselia that set up alongside you, as well as other Calm Mind users.

**Ghost- and Dark-types (hyphens)**: Although Cresselia can deal with slower Dark-types (add hyphen) such as Pangoro and Guzzlord, it is still often forced out by powerful physical attacks from Drapion and Zoroark without Colbur Berry, as well as Ghost-types (add hyphen) such as Golurk and Decidueye if it has an item.

**Steel-Types (hyphen)**: Although certain sets have countermeasures (remove hyphen) to break through Steel-types (add hyphen), their bulk and resistances mean that without the right set, Cresselia is forced out; for example, Cresselia without Stored Power or Moonlight is forced out by offensively invested Copperajah, Cresselia without Substitute is forced out by Bronzong, and all Cresselia sets are forced out by Escavalier.

**Status Moves**: Cresselia's speed tier allows it to be outsped by faster Toxic users such as Arcanine and Salazzle before it can get a Substitute up, as well as allowing it to be Tricked by Choice Scarf users such as Rotom-Mow Rotom-C and Indeedee-F.

**Haze and Whirlwind**: Moves that either force Cresselia out or get rid of it's stat boosts shut down Cresselia's setup set, as it has almost no immediate power to break its checks Mantine without a few Calm Mind boosts. (Clarified how phazing is only an issue for CM Cress. Also listed Mantine as an example for Haze, but what NU mon were you thinking viably runs Whirlwind? List it after Mantine)

No QC yet. The overview and both teammate sections were very sparse, and in the future, please remember to meet content length expectations before putting analyses into QC. I ended up suggesting a lot of points that I wanted to see as Cresselia's limitations and team options, but that's up to the writer to come up with on their own before the QC starts to critique. I mention these in the spoiler, and keep these in mind when implementing and with future analysis writing:
  • From the GP thread: When a type name is directly followed by the word "type", a hyphen is used (Normal-type)
  • The [SET COMMENTS] portion is two paragraphs with a line of space between them.
  • You did a great job in the overview explaining Cresselia's strengths, but remember that the overview also ends with the drawbacks and limitations of the Pokemon.
Tag me once you implemented everything and finished the writing in the scarce areas.

This set allows specially defensive Pokemon such as Copperajah and Guzzlord to switch in more freely (This is a little confusing as Cresselia isn't a pivot except with like Lunar dance lol. Instead, try to redirect this point to be about how the two examples you wrote merge well as special walls to form a good defensive cores with Cress), as it shuts down Fighting-type Pokemon that would punish them. Defensively, Cresselia appreciates itemless or Dark-type Pokemon to check Ghost-types such as itemless Vileplume and Drapion, as well as Fairy-type Pokemon such as Sylveon and Diancie that can aid Cresselia after Colbur is triggered. Lot of great teammate examples, but what even is using Toxic vs Cress? Try reorganizing it by starting with Toxic users like Bronzong and Mantine wearing this set down, so pair Cres with switch-ins like Dragalge and Escavalier and offensive Pokemon like Decid and Rotom-C to punish these status spreaders. Something like that would be more clear). Thunder Wave can be used to aid breakers such as Sirfetch'd and Tyrantrum, whose speed tier would otherwise make sweeping more difficult. Lunar Dance, on the other hand, helps faster allies such as Salazzle, Flygon, and Starmie that expect to switch into defensive Pokemon and take damage throughout a game.

**Haze and Whirlwind Setup Prevention**: Moves that either force Cresselia's setup set out or get rid of it's stat boosts shut down Cresselia, as it has almost no immediate power to break Mantine, Copperajah, or Drapion without a few Calm Mind boosts.(changed the category name because this also lets Taunt be considered here)

[Overview]

Cresselia is easily the bulkiest Pokemon in the metagame, allowing it to take nearly any unboosted move and set up Calm Mind boosts on Pokemon that struggle to damage it. It's also able to be great defensive support, checking Fighting-types such as Mienshao and Sirfetch'd (RC) as well as and having the Speed tier to outrun slower wallbreakers such as Adamant Tyrantrum and Golurk. However, Cresselia can lose large amounts of momentum against teams with setup sweepers that don't mind taking a Moonblast such as Drapion, Decidueye, and Escavalier. It also struggles against defensive answers due to its lack of initial strength (RC) and severely dislikes moves such as Toxic from Salazzle and Bronzong for non-Substitute variants, Haze users such as from Mantine, Encore users like from Salazzle, or and Taunt users like from Drapion and Talonflame.

Colbur Berry can be used over Leftovers to handle faster Dark-type moves from Pokemon such as Mienshao and Zoroark (RC) and KO back with a Moonblast. 144 Speed EVs allows it to outspeed slower physical wallbreakers such as Adamant Tyrantrum, Adamant Sirfetch'd, and Machamp.

Cresselia without Substitute is paired well with Heal Bell from Pokemon such as Sylveon, Vaporeon, or and Diancie, which allows Cresselia to have more longevity. Cresselia without Stored Power enjoys support from Pokemon such as Arcanine and Salazzle that pressure Steel-type Pokemon (RC) and to a lesser extent appreciates Pokemon that can pressure common Dark-types such as Sirfetch'd and Machamp.

Psychic is used over Psyshock,(AC) as it deals more damage to common Pokemon such as Sirfetch'd and Vileplume. Thunder Wave allows Cresselia to cripple opposing Pokemon such as Copperajah and Drapion that switch into it, allowing it's its partners to more easily deal with them (RC) as well as punishes and punishing offensive checks such as Decidueye. Alternatively,(AC) Toxic can be used to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Mantine, Gastrodon, and Arcanine that try to get their own status on Cresselia,(period -> comma) whereas Lunar Dance gives Cresselia the option to support its offensive teammates, giving wallbreakers such as Sirfetch'd and Flygon extra longevity. Colbur Berry allows Cresselia to more safely switch into Fighting-types that run Knock Off much easier, while No Item going itemless allows Cresselia to hard check common Poltergeist users such as physical Decidueye and Golurk without Spirit Shackle and Shadow Punch,(AC) respectively.

This set allows defensive Pokemon such as Copperajah and Guzzlord to serve as better special walls, as it shuts down Fighting-type Pokemon that would punish them and creates a very solid defensive core with them. Defensively, Cresselia appreciates itemless or Dark-type Pokemon to check Ghost-types such as itemless Vileplume and Drapion, as well as Fairy-type Pokemon such as Sylveon and Diancie that can aid Cresselia after Colbur is triggered. Toxic users such as Bronzong and Mantine give this set issues, so Cresselia it pairs well with common defensive Pokemon such as Dragalge or and Drapion that can switch into Toxic, as well as Pokemon that exploit these Toxic users such as Decidueye, Silvally-Ghost, and Rotom-C. Thunder Wave can be used to aid aids wallbreakers such as Sirfetch'd and Tyrantrum, whose Speed tier would otherwise make sweeping more difficult them easier to revenge kill. Lunar Dance, on the other hand, helps faster allies such as Salazzle, Flygon, and Starmie that expect to switch into defensive Pokemon and take damage throughout a game.

On Calm Mind Cresselia, Kee Berry can be used over Leftovers to make it Cresselia harder to kill KO and immune to Poltergeist after Berry use (RC) at the downside cost of being less effective if it has to switch out. With Kee Berry, Cresselia can also use the set Calm Mind, Moonblast, Stored Power, and Rest Calm Mind / Moonblast / Stored Power / Rest. This allows Cresselia to recover and remove status while keeping both attacks; however, this allows the opponent to set up against your Cresselia (RC) and possibly try to land a critical hit while Cresselia it is unable to act. Psyshock is an option over Stored Power on Calm Mind sets to beat opposing Cresselia that set up alongside you.(might be worth to mention when the immediate power is helpful too)

Checks and Counters
====

**Ghost- and Dark-types**: Although Cresselia can deal with slower Dark-types such as Guzzlord, it is still often forced out by powerful physical attacks from Drapion and Zoroark without Colbur Berry, as well as Ghost-types such as Golurk and Decidueye if it has an item.

**Status Moves**: Cresselia's Speed tier allows it to be outsped by faster Toxic users such as Arcanine and Salazzle before it can get a Substitute up, as well as allowing it to be Tricked hit by Trick by Choice Scarf users such as Rotom-C and Indeedee-F.
