Cresselia event surfaces?

Hi, I'm new here, and considering the posts I've been reading about event Cresselia hoaxes, I know I'm not likely to be believed, but I wanted to post about what I received at the Nintendo World Store last week.

I only go there about once a month to battle whoever's there, and as usual I found some random kids and hooked up to battle. However, when I turned my DS on, at the menu screen it notified me that a Mystery Gift signal was available inside the store. I didn't know anything about an event going on, but I went ahead and accepted the Mystery Gift via Wireless. The wonder card turned out to be some sort of "harvest moon Cresselia" (what is a harvest moon anyway??):

Suspicious due the fact that there were NO advertisements or announcements about this, I asked the employees and they said that the store was giving away Pokemon all month for some reason via Mystery Gift. They didn't seem to know any specifics though. I don't know why there aren't any announcements about it on pokemon.com.

Here is the Cresselia after received from the PokeMart guy:

I originally thought that Slash was its special move, since I didn't really think Cresselia could learn it. But apparently it can. I tried soft-resetting for its "special move" (supposed to be 1-in-10) but got nothing. What's going on? I'm guessing it's supposed to be Wish, but I don't know. :(

Anyway, I know this looks really suspicious due to the lack of advertisement and the supposed hoax factor last month, but I swear this happened. You can even call the store and they'll tell you about the Mystery Gifts. What do you make of this?

This is rather interesting, and looks realistic enough. However, I can't say it's all that hard to make something bogus look very real, and with all the hoaxes this site's had in the past, I won't be surprised if either this was one as well, or everybody will assume it is.

Still, if this IS real like you say, I wonder what the special move will be? If it's wish, then we'll realize it's a hoax, that's just too much of a "coincidence."

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

On a seperate note, why does it say ??? for the pokedex number? That's odd.

Did you get it post-national dex? that is very strange, indeed. I heard the Nintendo World Store was giving away a new pokemon each week... but I thought that promotion was delayed?

Going tomorrow after classes. Will confirm/deny.
Edit: will try asking staff what the down-low is on "special moves" and which dudzorz are up for distrobution; I have 2 carts to work with (my and my girlfriend's), so we'll see.

I find this rather suspicious considering the previous hoax claims. Not to mention there's absolutely no word about it anywhere, while Manaphy is fully advertised on Pokemon.com and NintendoWorld.com.

Please do confirm, if any of you others can.

The ID number makes no sense. What does 10017 supposed to mean? I mean, usually event Pokemon's ID numbers usually mean something, like 00010 or 06930, or 71507 or something like that. Battling 100 trainers and something about 17? 17 what? I also think "NWS" seems vague, but then again we had "TRU" for the TRU Manaphy.

NWS means Nintendo World Store I suppose.

Fake, fake, fake.

The op wants you to call Nintendo World to try to verify this, but of course they will say there is a Pokemon giveaway, not knowing what giveaway you are talking about.

He/she did go to Nintendo World and got the Pokemon they are giving away the whole month: Manaphy. He just used a hacking program (Pokesav is my bet) to edit the Manaphy wonder card.

In addition to 0 publicity even though Manaphy is advertised on the Nintendo World Store website.

Why do people waste their time like this

*waits for someone to suggest that its a marketing scam by nintendo to get more people to visit NWS*

10017 = 10/01/7

10 = October
01 = First
7 = 2007

If you look carefully at the Wonder Card, it said recieved 1st October, but the encounter date is 11th October. Seems suspicious to me

And?

The Wonder Card's date is for the card itself. One can pick up the Pokemon at a later date as the Pokemon is in the possesion of the delivery guy at the mart. And as mentioned, the OP was soft-resetting to see if they would receive a special move.

Though the whole concept itself is foggy and suspicious.

And the Cresselia comes with a Stardust? That's useful... X_X

BTW, you are still SRing for it, right? I checked its IVs with Serebii to see if it was a bad hack job, but the stats are legit, though the IVs suck. ><

Pics or it didn't happen. Wait, wrong forum... (I've always wanted to say that, though.) and there are pics... uh... video or it didn't happen.

*leaves quietly

Or some people are too lazy to complete the game and get the National Dex (Such as myself) thus making almost all the Pokemon numbers '???'

Some pokémon that have been altered with Pokésav have ??? as their pokédex number, so this is kind of fishy.
That doesn't prove a hack. I've heard that if you're traded something like Cress or Heatran before you get the National Dex, then its Pokedex Number would be ???, but I wouldn't know for certain. EDIT: What Wuddle said.

And again, why in the world would it come with Stardust?????

but he posted those pictures on the 10th and never edited his post.
he must have traveled to the future to get it...
fakefakefakefake.

...? He posted this on the 11th...
If he was soft-resetting for it, then took pictures and immediately upped them, the date makes perfect sense. Also, they said they were giving away a new pokemon every week, so it's likely that it is in fact Harvest Moon Cresselia this week?
