[SET]
name: Life Orb
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Hidden Power Ground
move 3: Recover
move 4: Rapid Spin
item: Life Orb
ability: Levitate
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SDef / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Unlike the defensive Cryogonal variants, this set attempts to utilize Cryogonal's solid 95 base Special Attack stat and great 105 base Speed stat effectively. Ice Beam is a good STAB move, hitting the majority of the RU metagame very hard. Hidden Power Ground provides excellent coverage alongside Ice Beam, nailing all of the Steel-types that resist Ice Beam; it also has the added bonus of hitting Pokemon such as Drapion, Qwilfish, and Lanturn super effectively. Recover is used in the third slot to give Cryogonal a way to restore its HP; its access to this move in tandem with its excellent Special Defense stat, set it apart from other Choice Scarf Pokemon. Rapid Spin is the preferred option in the last slot, as every common spinblocker in the metagame is 2HKO'd by Ice Beam with entry hazard support. However, Toxic is also an option, and can be used to cripple Pokemon such as Slowking, that would otherwise completely wall Cryogonal.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature with 252 Special Attack EVs allow for maximum power, granting Cryogonal 317 Special Attack and 309 Speed. However, a Timid nature is also an option, as it makes Cryogonal faster than Rotom; this nature also lets Cryogonal speed tie with Manectric and Scyther. Substitute can be used in the last slot to block status, but Rapid Spin and Toxic are generally much better options. Hidden Power Grass and Hidden Power Electric are options that can be used to hit Water-types harder, but hitting Steel-types is usually much more important. Good teammates for this set are those that appreciate the removal of entry hazards, and since this Cryogonal is a fantastic spinner. It also appreciates entry hazard support, as they allow it to be much more of a threat. Qwilfish is a good partner for this Cryogonal, especially since it can also take on Fighting-types, whichcompletely decimate Cryogonal. Due to Cryogonal's low base 30 defense, any physical attacking Pokemon causes problems, so a physically bulky teammate is greatly appreciated.

Flash Cannon hits Jynx and Regirock, though it doesn't hit much else iirc... might still be worth a mention though.

Also a mention of an alternative, slightly bulkier EV spread that outspeeds Rotom or something in the AC...?

k I'll add Flash Cannon to the AC. And I don't see the point of a bulkier EV Spread; you might as well max Speed to Speed tie / outrun as much as possible.

k people said I could stamp my own analysis cuz I'm a QC member so...
yeah skillz.

QC APPROVED 3/3

I'll get this written shortly.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature with 252 Special Attack EVs allow for maximum power, granting Cryogonal with 317 Special Attack and 309 Speed. However, a Timid nature is also an option, as it lets Cryogonal avoid the Speed tie with Rotom and just outspeed it immediately; this nature also lets Cryogonal speed tie with Manectric and Scyther. Good teammates for this set are those that appreciate the removal of entry hazards, and this Cryogonal is a fantastic rapid spinner. It also appreciates entry hazard support, as they let it be much more of a threat. Qwilfish is a good partner for this, especially since it can also take on Fighting-types, which completely decimate Cryogonal. Any physical attacking Pokemon is a problem for it as well due to Cryogonal's pathetic base 30 Defense, so a physically bulky teammate is greatly appreciated. Substitute can be used in the last slot to block status, but Rapid Spin and Toxic are generally much better options. Hidden Power Grass and Hidden Power Electric are options as well to hit Water-types harder, but hitting Steel-types is usually much more important.
