is a Contributor to Smogon
Cryogonal @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Freeze-Dry
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Flash Cannon

Don't touch Cryogonal, or it can freeze you! Cryogonal's great Speed tier, as well as its access to reliable recovery, makes it a good choice for a Rapid Spin user in the ZU metagame. Freeze-Dry allows it to break past Water-types including Clawitzer, Samurott, and Whiscash, as well as other entry hazard setters like Sandslash and Grass-types like Whimsicott. Flash Cannon provides super effective coverage for Ice-types like Froslass, which can otherwise shrug off Freeze-Dry, and it's an important target to hit because of its access to Spikes and its secondary Ghost typing. Tera Steel not only has great synergy with Levitate, but it also provides a useful resistance to Fairy-type attacks from the likes of Whimsicott. Cryogonal suffers from terrible physical bulk, which lets it be easily picked off by strong physical attackers, such as Lycanroc and Passimian. To fix this, pair it with physically defensive teammates, like Regirock and Weezing. Regirock can set Stealth Rock and use its great physical bulk to answer threats like Sneasel. Weezing can utilize its pure Poison typing and access to Will-O-Wisp to answer threats like Toxicroak, which can otherwise give Cryogonal trouble.

Don't spin with Cryogonal, or it can freeze you! Cryogonal's great Speed tier, as well as access to reliable recovery, make it a good choice for a Rapid Spin user in the ZU metagame. Freeze-Dry allows it to break past Water-types including Clawitzer, Samurott, and Whiscash, with all of them, especially non-Assault Vest variants of Samurott, being 2HKOed. i’d rather mention how it pressures common hazards users and/or grass types. Flash Cannon provides super effective coverage for Ice-types like Froslass, which can otherwise shrug off Freeze-Dry mention that froslass is important to hit cause spikes and spinblocking. Tera Steel not only has great synergy with Levitate, but it also boosts Flash Cannon, letting it 2HKO Abomasnow and OHKO Sneasel. irrelevant, i’d rather mention something like fairy resist for whimsi. Cryogonal finds itself on several team styles, namely offense and balance. this previous sentence feels very nothing burger to me, you can prob remove it if you need characters. Cryogonal suffers from terrible physical bulk, which lets it be easily picked off by strong physical attackers, such as Lycanroc and Toxciroak Passimian for variety. To fix this, pair it with physically defensive teammates, like Regirock and Weezing, with Regirock setting up Stealth Rock, alongside its great physical bulk to answer threats like Sneasel. Weezing can utilize its pure Poison typing and access to Will-O-Wisp to answer threats like Toxicroak, which can otherwise give it Cryogonal trouble.

Don't spin with Cryogonal, or it can freeze you! (i think the one-liner might need rewording, since "don't spin with cryogonal" sounds like you're saying not to use rapid spin) Cryogonal's great Speed tier, as well as its access to reliable recovery, make makes it a good choice for a Rapid Spin user in the ZU metagame. Freeze-Dry allows it to break past Water-types including Clawitzer, Samurott, and Whiscash, as well as other entry hazard setters like Sandslash and Grass-types like Sandslash and Whimsicott. To fix this, pair it with physically defensive teammates, like Regirock and Weezing (RC). (AP) with Regirock setting up can set Stealth Rock (RC) alongside and use its great physical bulk to answer threats like Sneasel. Weezing can utilize its pure Poison typing and access to Will-O-Wisp to answer threats like Toxicroak, which can otherwise give Cryogonal trouble.
