Cufant finds a slight niche in ZU as a Stealth Rock setter thanks to its decent bulk and good coverage options. Furthermore, its typing allows it to soft check notable threats such as Silvally-Ice, Persian, and Bellossom. Power Whip devastates Water- and Ground-type switch-ins such as Wartortle, Whiscash, Palpitoad, and Hippopotas. The fourth moveslot is flexible; Zen Headbutt targets Grapploct and Poison-types such as Ivysaur, while High Horsepower allows Cufant to critically damage Klang. Whirlwind is a notable mention that allows Cufant to phaze out setup sweepers and predicted switch-ins from checks like Grapploct and Defog users like Vullaby. 48 EVs in Speed allow Cufant to outspeed base 45 Speed foes and Grapploct.

Cufant primarily fits on balanced and bulky offense builds that appreciate its ability to consistently set Stealth Rock and soft check powerful threats for its teammates. Fighting-types such as Grapploct and Machoke pressure Cufant immensely; checks to them such as Shiinotic, Mr. Mime, and Beheeyem are appreciated. Grass-types such as the aforementioned Shiinotic, as well as Gourgeist-L and Bellossom, complement Cufant by pressuring Ground-types such as Whiscash, Palpitoad, and Hippopotas. In return, Cufant can threaten Ice-types such as Silvally-Ice and Galarian Mr. Mime that give them trouble. Knock Off absorbers such as Grapploct and Vullaby are appreciated, allowing Cufant to retain its Eviolite and preserve its bulk. Ghost-types such as Gourgeist-L and Dusclops prevent the removal of Stealth Rock by serving as checks to Rapid Spin users such as Wartortle and Galarian Mr. Mime, respectively.

Cufant stands out as one of ZU's best Stealth Rock setters, boasting a superb Attack stat and bulk, coupled with good coverage options. Furthermore, its typing allows it softcheck notable threats such as Silvally-Ice, Persian, and Reversal-less Eiscue. Power Whip devastates Water- and Ground-type switch-ins such as Wartortle, Whiscash, Palpitoad, and Hippopotas. The fourth moveslot is flexible; Zen Headbutt targets Machoke and Poison-types such as Ivysaur and Gloom while High Horsepower allows Cufant to critically damage Klang and opposing Cufant. (mention Whirlwind can be opted for phazing purposes and bringing in Pokemon weak to SR like Lampent and SilvIce) 48 EV investment in Speed allows Cufant to outspeed 0 Speed invested Machoke.

Cufant primarily fits on balanced and bulky offense builds that appreciate its ability to consistently set up Stealth Rock and soft check powerful threats for its teammates. Fighting-types such as Machoke and Scraggy pressure Cufant immensely; checks to them such as Shiinotic, Gloom, and Farfetch'd are appreciated. Grass-types such as the aforementioned Shiinotic and Gloom, as well as Gourgeist-L and Ivysaur, complement Cufant by pressuring Ground-types such as Whiscash, Palpitoad, and Hippopotas. In return, Cufant can threaten Ice-types such as Silvally-Ice and Galarian Mr. Mime Glalie that give them trouble (mime can tech Focus Blast that does way too much damage to cufant, putting it in Shadow Ball range usually, and also spins away its SR. While it 1hko's in return, any chip damage makes it lose the MU, whereas Glalie's sets struggle more with Cufant / need a more considerable damage to KO with EQ). Knock Off absorbers such as Machoke and Vullaby are appreciated, allowing Cufant to retain its Eviolite and preserve its bulk.(Mention spinblockers like Dusclops and Shedninja secure Cufant's SR by checking Wartortle and Galarian Mr. Mime)

(Kind of a nitpick here, I feel it's more useful to mention phazing out predicted switch-ins (i.e checks or defoggers like Vullaby) than the possibility of forcing in rock weak mons like Lampent or Silv-Ice because it's a more common scenario and helps generate momentum/force the opp into a cycle) 48 EV investment in Speed allows Cufant to outspeed 0 Speed invested Machoke.
