It has many good matchups, including Calyrex-Ice-Rider, Koraidon, and Groudon, since these Restricted Pokemon fail to effectively threaten Dondozo. Dondozo runs Earthquake to deal damage to both opposing Pokemon, bypassing redirection from Pokemon like Ogerpon-H and Ogerpon-C. Order Up is used to set up its Attack even further, and Wave Crash for a burst of damage, and is Dondozo's preferred Water-type move option. Leftovers provides healing to Dondozo, allowing it to slow the pace of the battle using Protect to regain more health. The EV spread allows Dondozo to OHKO some bulky Ogerpon-H whilst fully utilizing the Commander boost, meaning that each stat value is an even number. Tera Grass gives Dondozo immunity to Amoonguss's Spore and provides resistances to Miraidon's Electric-type moves and Ogerpon-Cornerstone's Power Whip.

Pokemon with Haze or Clear Smog, such as Amoonguss and Chien-Pao, can eliminate Dondozo's Commander Stat Boosts. Miraidon will always find a way to OHKO Dondozo if Dondozo doesn't have its Commander Boost, even if its Tera Grass. Miraidon can always OHKO Dondozo with Electro Drift, even with Commander Boost, always forcing a Terastallization for Dondozo. Dondozo can deal with Miraidon by using Earthquake and Order Up if Miraidon has not Terastallized into Fairy type yet and use Wave Crash if Miraidon has Terastallized into the Fairy type. Note that Dondozo will usually never get more than two hits in before fainting when it is facing Miraidon. Rillaboom partially checks Dondozo, since this Dondozo can only do reliable damage to Rillaboom with Order Up, while Rillaboom can threaten Fake Out to get a partner in, halves the power of Earthquake because of Grassy Terrain, and threatens a Terastallization. Dondozo can reliably deal with Rillaboom by racking up Order Up boosts and dealing damage with Wave Crash and Order Up. Weezing-Galar is a common partner for Dondozo, poisoning Pokemon with Poison Gas and Toxic Spikes, allowing Dondozo to use its staying power to deal poison damage while negating all abilities on the field with Neutralizing Gas, allowing Weezing-Galar to stay on the field longer, allowing its poison to accumulate damage over time.

Also, it's not a very relevant benchmark as Landorus doesn't threaten dondozo that much, and timid non-scarf max speed isn't terribly common. Tera Grass gives Dondozo immunity to Amoonguss's Spore, and Tera Steel allows Dondozo to be even bulkier than it already is as well as giving it immunity to Clear Smog.

Miraidon can always OHKO Dondozo with Electro Drift, even with Commander Boost, always forcing a Terastallization for Dondozo. Rillaboom partially checks Dondozo, since this Dondozo can only do reliable damage to Rillaboom with Order Up, while Rillaboom can threaten Fake Out to get a partner in, halves the power of Earthquake because of Grassy Terrain, and threatens a Terastallization. Weezing-Galar is a common partner for Dondozo, poisoning Pokemon with Poison Gas and Toxic Spikes, allowing Dondozo to use its staying power to deal poison damage while negating all abilities on the field with Neutralizing Gas, allowing Weezing-Galar to stay on the field longer, allowing its poison to accumulate damage over time. (Again, How does Dondozo deal with Miraidon and Rillaboom? What partners help it acomplish this? Might as well point out that the whole Miraidon vs Dondozo gets fluffy, can just say "Miraidon threatens an OHKO on Dondozo despite its Commander boosts, since when are you ever keeping a +0 Dondozo infront of Miraidon.)

It has many good matchups, including Calyrex-Ice-Rider, Koraidon, and Groudon, since these Restricted Pokemon fail to effectively threaten Dondozo.
