D/P (only) Working on a Hail team... Need help here.

CHANGES IN BOLD

I need a little help here. I want to make a nice general Hail team, not for my gym, but just as another team for wifi. XD

Anyway, here it is:

WEAVILE@focus sash
jolly
252att, 252spd, 6hp
-fake out
-taunt
-pursuit
-counter

~ My anti-lead, which I've used before and had some fun with. Weirdly, this set is illegal in shoddy, but i asked in this forum (Analysis Workshop) some time ago and they said it was PERFECTLY legal (breedable with smeargle. So meh... Anyway, Azelf leads are scared of this, and so are gengars. Gyarados leads? Shuts down the dragon dances with taunt. Bronzong leads are a OHKO with counter (and I believe Bronzong is one of the threats in a hail team too. I hate facing this guy.. >.<). How does this Weavile work? Fake out then Taunt when necessary. Then either pursuit if the opponent is weak to dark, counter if I expect a OHKO move (BRONZONG YOU DIE!!!!), or switch out. For some reason, anti-lead weavile can come in handy later in the game. XD

HEATRAN@Choice scarf
timid
252spatt, 252spd, 6hp
-SR
-WoW
-earth power
-Fireblast

~ My fire absorber. Once he comes out, he SRs or WoW when I expect a switch. Then I switch out. Other than that, he can attack with either earth power or fireblast.

TENTACRUEL@Black Sludge
Calm
204 Hp, 96 SpAtt, 172 SpDef, 36 Spd
-toxic spikes
-surf
-Blizzard
-Rapid spin

~ My spinner, toxic spiker, and special wall (i guess). Well, I hear he's good in hail teams, and I always see him in Hail RMTs. I didn't want to use him at first because he's always in every Hail team I see. >.< But since I have another Hail team that doesnt have him (an ice and water hail team... gym team XD), I decided to just use him in this team. XD

ABOMASNOW@choice band
adamant
252spd, 252att, 6hp
-ice shard
-woodhammer
-Earthquake
-Focus punch

~ Starts up the Hail. This is the physical set and I've decided to try it out. Iceshard with priority+STAB+boost from band looks nice. XD Woodhammer for another powerful STAB and boost, Earthquake for coverage (or maybe for slower moving fires and steels XD). Focus punch for more coverage too, but this will need loads of prediction because of the part where he loses his focus when hit. >.<

WALREIN@leftovers
Bold
252Def, 252hp, 6spatt
-Protect
-Substitute
-Roar
-Surf

~ Typical Stallrein without the toxic. XD Well, I chose Surf over Blizzard so I can hit steel types for neutral damage. Earthquake was considered but I like the STAB more. ^^ Anyway, you know the strategy. XD

MISMAGIUS@leftovers
Timid
108 Hp, 164 SpAtt, 236 Spd
-taunt
-calm mind
-shadowball
-thunderbolt

~ She was useful in my first main team. She could probably be useful here too. She is my anti-spinner and my taunter. She prevents the likes of skarmory and blissey from doing their thing and sets up on them as well.

Anyway, yeah, I really need help with this team. I want to make a good Hail team without it looking exactly like other Hail teams. It seems a bit impossible though, since I know I will need Walrein and I guess I need Tentacruel as well as Heatran. >.< Abomasnow is definitely a MUST as well.

I'm willing to change some Pokemon if you think it is necessary. No Platinums please. This team will be for Wifi. XD

I DO NOT WANT ABOMASNOW TO BE THE LEAD. I like surprise factors. XD Oh, and Walrein stays. XD

umm... your team is lacking the backbone of the hail team. mainly ice pokes. if your trying to make a hail team, i wouldnt run more than 1 non-ice type. you also seem very reluctant to change it.

you wont be needing heatran with that walrein on your team. it can absorb fire just as well. have walrein run toxicstall set.

froslass work similarly to mismagius, minus the sp atk.

not much to say. i guess just run a lapras maybe.

hope i was helpful.

Fire Blast over Overheat/Lava plume. With Overheat you would have to switch out right after you used it: Fire Blast gives you the power your looking for. If your worried about the accuracy go for flamethrower.

U could replace Mismagius with that new Rotom form that learns Blizzard...

You could give it:

[SET]
name: Hail Snoozer
move 1: Thunderbolt
move 2: Blizzard
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
item: Leftovers

EVs: 252 HP / 104 SAtk / 152 SpD
Nature: Modest

Boltbeam coverage with Tanking abilities.

Namikaze,
I thought Hail teams are supposed to have less than 5/6 ice types and that 3/6 ice types is most advisable? >.< That's what I've researched. Hail teams shouldn't all be ice types...

hhjj,
I would give the team the Rotom, but I believe I did mention in my first post that this was D/P and no Platinums allowed...

mintyfresh,
i'll try the fire blast. ^^

janissary,
Mamoswine looks like a nice addition. But the reason why mismagius is there is because she is an anti rapid spinner and doesn't take ground hits.

Also, Wood Hammer on Abomasnow would be preferred because of Abomasnows meh attack stat, but if you don't like the recoil damage go with seed bomb. I dont see seed bomb doing tremendos amounts of damage however without it being super effective..

Also, on your weavile, Id consider giving it Ice Shard over Fake Out, for Ice Shard might get more use against the likes of Yanmega and company. Also, its convienent to have a priority move when only having one HP XD (if you run into any scarfers or pokes who will use a priority move to try to get rid of weavile). I dont see unstabbed Fake Out making much of a damage difference, thats all.

Yeah, the recoil scares me, but maybe i should just try woodhammer out...

For Weavile, I was after the 100% priority flinch because it also nullifies focus sashed leads. But I will think about the ice shard. ^_^ Thanks.

Are there any more suggestions out there? XD

I would keep fake out over ice shard because it allows you to break unexpected sashes then finish them off with counter. Otherwise, sashes>you.

Just a quick mention, sorry for not rating your entire team. Weavile w/ LO and Fake Out/Ice Shard/Pursuit/Brick Break is amazing. Two priority moves put a ton of pokes into submission, as well as Pursuit kicks Azelf's ass. Brick Break for early screens and better coverage. Not only that, but this lead can be used as a revenge killer later on, unlike its sash counter.

Hmm.. that's an interesting Weavile set you got there. XD That's worth considering. I will test that out soon. Thanks for the info. ^^

Why run LO on Weavile? Most Azelf/Gengar you see will be scarfed due to trick and a fire blast/focus blast will let you start on the back foot straight away. Plus, taking 10% recoil from moves like fake out and pursuit which mostly does lol damage is not so good. Use focus sash. You have a spinner already so it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I already tested the LO version. I think the sash works better. ^^ Well, I'll go change that back now.

Is there anything else that's worth changing? Or is the team just fine?
