Basically, my overall strategy is to lay down stealth rocks with Azelf and Toxic Spikes with Forretress and wear down the opposing team.
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- Psychic
- Stealth Rock
This is a typical Azelf lead, which counters the common leads of Gengar, Gyarados, and Bronzong. Mainly, I want to get stealth rock down to wear down the opposing team. It's also really important that my lead can take Bronzong and Gengar since I have no sleep absorber.
---
Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/162 Atk/96 Def
IVs: 0 Spd
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Explosion
- Gyro Ball
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
My toxic spiker. I send it in on a physical attacker that it decently walls and try to lay down 2 layers of toxic spikes. If I can do that, it has pretty much served its purpose, so I can either chose to keep it around for rapid spin or explode on whatever is trying to use him as set up bait.
---
Gallade (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 64 HP/252 Atk/192 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Psycho Cut (Night Slash?)
- Swords Dance
My late game sweeper. With toxic spikes and stealth rock out, the opponent will most likely be reluctant to switch, allowing Gallade to set up. I like him for his bulkiness, allowing me to switch him in without too much fear. I'm considering Nigh Slash over Psycho cut to hit Cress and Speed Deoxys harder, but I'm not sure I want to lose the STAB move. I'm also considering losing Gallade entirely in favor of DD Salamence or another, faster physical sweeper.
---
Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 20 HP/236 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- Hidden Power [Ice]
It seems like no team is complete without a Scarftran these days. He actually serves several purposes on this team: I can switch him in to take one of the many attacks he resists, I can revenge kill with him, and I can sweep with him after the opposing Pokemon are worn down. He also makes up for the most of the team being slower than shit.
---
Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Roar
- Surf
With all of the entry hazzards, Suicune's Roar really comes in handy to get all of the opposing Pokemon poisoned by Toxic Spikes and beaten by Stealth Rock. Once they are weakened, it also poses a sweeping threat with Calm Mind. I chose HP Electric over Ice Beam to take out Gyarados.
---
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def/80 SAtk/176 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Softboiled
- Hidden Power [Ground]
The special wall. Toxic is there to put levitators and flying Pokemon in their place. I chose this set over the Wish/Protect one because I felt I needed another attacking move so Blissey isn't completely useless against Heatran.
---
So far, I've been doing pretty well with this team, especially with the abundance of offensive teams lacking a rapid spinner. Remember, this team is only for the D/P metagame, so don't suggest Bullet Punch Scizor or anything, but other than that, suggestions are more than welcome.
