NOC D6 Mafia Game Thread [Day 4; Deadline June 1 at 6 PM EST]

So I didn't really want to give thoughts until jordan posted but I'm going to sleep soonish and I want this out there
Nothing's sticking when I'm reading so I'm going to do a reread with potential teams in mind tomorrow but will dump my reads going into today + thoughts on how the day is shaping up now
 
I went into today w/ the following reads:
Hannah: don't lynch
Whydon: Felt pretty okay about him after eod of yesterday but I kind of forgot why. Wouldn't lynch over voop/jordan
Dusk: Still seems extremely townie at times for taking hard roads when scum!him could sit back but ig I'm open to being convinced
Whydon/Dusk only grouping alive that actually has anything pointing towards teaming up makes me do a double take on above townreads
Let's keep poe-ing until I get convinced to move: Voop/Jordan, where jordan is interesting bc his posts seem town but his voting history of smol wagon D1->town wagon until caf seemed dead D2 -> park on whydon D3 is very iffy
 
In defense of dusk: I can see town!him getting tilted and jumping to a hannah/voop team. I'm not really ready to accept hannah scum yet though so Duskfall98 either get out of the tunnel and consider other worlds or give me reasons why hannah is scum besided her voop townread (So why can't it be hannah being pocketed by vooper for example)
 
Inspecting votal 1.4 which is imo the most interesting bc this was when the three big D1 wagons were at peak division (Hannahh you asked why I cared less about D3 associatives, this is bc from then on scum is hopefully all under pressure so we enter the WIFOM stage of associatives whereas D1 they're more free to move around)

This pisses me off bc this makes my poe team of jordan/vooper look unrealistic (also jordan/hannah but whatever) bc this would mean scum's piling onto clarinet w/ me when the other wagons are clean so they must be hoping mewtwo/marth is going to pull ahead regardless so they can get cred for counterwagoning it? This is risky af bc from what I recall sam and maybe someone else also considered clarinet but stayed off bc of the assumed soft which was outed pretty late

On the other hand a hannah/voop team just watches town eat itself or a team with one or two of dusk/whydon is splitting and pushing multiple town wagons which all fits way better but means my poe is wrong :psyangry:
 
So my low-effort team guess rn is saying I'm right about dusk/hannah, jordan is scum and one of dusk/hannah is wrong so scumteam is jordan+one of voop/whydon

High-effort scum team guess will involve a reread
 
So yeah the biggest things in the back of my mind as I reread are:

- Why did I think whydon was town again
- Is there a world where I'm wrong about Hannah
- Was the clarinet wagon so doomed to fail a double scumvote there is plausible
 
There are 2 scum left, and a possible tinfoil in dusk.

Me/Voop and Hannah/Voop are the main teams being thrown about, unless its fucking Dusk/Whydon in which case we probably always lose.

At this point, there isn't a world where I see scumDusk start a fight with Clarinet unless voop is his partner, especially when Samo was already ensuring Whydon wasnt getting lynched by pushing a me/voop team.

I'm otw to extra lessons rn :weary: so imma post and maybe vote vooper? in like 3 hours when I get back

The worst part is, neither of us have good strong reasons for our strong townreads. We're both meta reading I think.

So at this point, do we think it would be two scum on the same person or do we think they could have split?

Also ZOL was inactive so I don't think we can get many reads from that at all? Do we think it's possible that Dusk/Whydon both go on M2H and Caff stays on Clar here?

Low-effort makes sense but I don't feel at all comfortable lynching Jordan today. I guess that's what I get for strong sring your townie and his strongest tr.

I'll be on for most of tomorrow I think (I mean, once I wake up at like 1 pm :pikathink: ) If you have any ideas you want to bounce. The thread dying is eerily unsettling at this point.

Who do you have as potential partners for vooper?
 
I don't want to believe Hannah is scum because the pool gets too large to meaningfully solve in that case. From where I'm standing, there has to be someone I accept is always Town, and I believe Hannah > Duskfall.

Which means the possible partner to vooper is either whydon or duskfall. Given how Whydon's callout of Clarinet targeted his statement of "Whydon/Voop has one scum", it doesn't make sense that he would draw attention to a potential team of him/vooper, especially to disagree. It makes more sense to either agree with it while throwing shade at Clarinet for "easy deduction" or some BS like that, or just flatout denying they're both scum. Admittably, I don't know anything about the Whydon meta but from a logical perspective, Duskfall currently makes more sense as a voop partner. The only confusing bit now is that scumDusk probably pushes me? here if vooper is his partner, but he's uh, doing who knows what over there.

Or we could run with "vooper isn't scum" which leads to a whole new area of possible associations.
 
The kill tonight is almost definitely our uncontested town slot athena so there's no point in NLing anyways. Anyone here to bounce ideas with me? Reading alone is boring and lonely
 
To me the main problem is that there's a potential Whydon/Dusk, a potential Voop/Hannah and whatever scumteams you guys made involving me so our lynch pool today is really fucked. Add the fact that everyone is doing something illogical and detrimental if they were scum and it gets even more complicated.
 
Also I can see a dusk/voop team as a possibility over dusk/whydon bc the feeling I was getting at start of day was thread was shaping up to become hannah+voop vs dusk+whydon which would be a good strategy to secure a win for dusk/vooper bc even if one of them is lynched a townie is ready to be mislynched the day after
