Dark Type Gym Team v2

My third rate my team(well fourth but it's v2 :) Okay, basic overview, I'm in one of those Gym League things, and I'm in charge of the Dark Type Gym. Now, after looking at all the dark types I'm actually intrigued at this team and would like to make it as competitive as possible. The restrictions I'm under are basic Standard OU Smogon rules. 4 Pokes have to be Dark type, and the other two can be anything as long as they have either a dark type move in the moveset, or an ability that ties to the team(not sure about this, I'm guessing prankster and intimidate would def pass).

Now the v1 team wasn't so hot, even with testing out many different suggestions. I basically decided to go with one of the last suggestions, which while negative and unhelpful in every way; It did make me try to see what I could do. I started out with a "balanced" team in v1. And quite frankly the "defensive" part of the team was quite frail as proven through testing. Well nihilist called it right, it was very frail and only packed a mediocre punch.

So, I decided that if I couldn't defend our weaknesses with walls, I would go completely offense and put so much pressure on you that you can't pick on our weaknesses. And thus this came came about, without further adew I give you Drake's Dark Gym v2! Here we go!

The Lead
442.gif

FearItSelf(Spiritomb)@Leftovers
Calm Nature
Ability:Pressure
EVs: 252 HP, 140 Def, 116 SpDef

Will-O-Wisp
Dark Pulse
Hidden Power(Fighting)
Pain Split

The Lead almost always, I throw in Zoroark in there as well on occasion. It's pretty basic, but very effective. Max Spdef because WoW will do fine for the physical defenses. Taunt w/prankster absolutely shuts things down. Payback because his speed is terrible and will almost always get double power. I'm in the air over Pain Split and Recover, Pain Split helps with damage but I think recover would work better as far as wearing down pokes with burn. Suggestion on those two moves?

With me not paying attention to the fact prankster sableye was banned, the other dark/ghost was suggested. Now it functions basically the same way. Although the +1 taunt will be missed :( Will-O-Wisp for burn damage and to stop physical attackers dead. Dark Pulse/HP Fighting make a good type coverage tandem, and pain split for recovery.

(shiny sprite anyone?)
Defiler(Gyarados)@Leftovers
Adamant Nature
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 156 HP, 72 Atk, 96 Def, 184 Spe

Taunt
Waterfall
Stone Edge/Bounce
Dragon Dance

Bulky Gyarados here. The intimidate along with the flying type helps tremendously against the fighting/bug weaknesses of the team. Taunt to stop things from setting up and making it easier on me to set-up. Along with the fact he needs a dark move to e on the team. Waterfall for STAB and main move, DD obviously there for the set-up. I'm at odds on what goes in slot 3 there. I'd like all of your thoughts on that.

Was thinking metagross here*, but Idk about my counter to excadrill with him so...

534.gif

WhatIsThat(Conkeldurr)@Flame Orb
Adamant Nature
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 6 Spe

Bulk Up
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Payback

Needed an Excadrill counter, also gives me a bug resist(very needed!). Basically come in on something that con't hurt me, set-up a bulk up or two and start punching things. Drain Punch for main STAB and recovery, MAch Punch for priority, and Payback becuase he's quite slow and it hits like a truck. Not the item is debateable, I am choosing the orb atm unless I see a convincing argument not too. The pros to it, uhm guts? So I get the boost there and with drain punch the resisdual damage shouldn't be that much of a problem. Plus, once the orb activates I have a status absorber for the match. Now the other option is lefties+iron fist, the 20% along side 100% reliable recovery is also nice but I really like having this thing bascially banded(Guts boost) and still able to choose moves freely. Thoughts here?

Shadow Fox(Zoroark)@Choice Specs
Timid Nature
Ability: Issusion
EVs: 252 SpAtk, 252 Spe, 6 HP

Dark Pulse
Hidden Power(Ice)
Focus Blast
Flamethrower

Revenge killer/surprise sweeper. Basically comes in disguised as Hydreigon. Fires off Specs boosted attacks. Max speed and max SpAtk for the most damage output. Was thinking of a nasty plot set but the nasty plot would immediately give it away I'm not the three headed dragon. With this I do slightly less damage but keep the surprise factor till they hit me.

560.gif

Reaver(Scrafy)@Life Orb
Jolly nature
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 6 HP

Ice Punch
Drain Punch
Thunder Punch
Dragon Dance

Another Physical sweeper/Second revenge killer. I am debating the CB set, to make it more revengey, and to stop my debate of ice shard over brick break(Thoughts on this?) Basically come in on something I threaten, SD up and start slicing things up. The main debate here is ice shard to avoid the ES/Mach Punch, or brick break so the steelsa dont stop the sweep. So I need thoughts on that and also SD vs CB???

Now with the weakness to stealth rock(which I admittedly didn't think about) I decided to not compound it and keep Qeavile. Instead I replaced it with Scraft, it's definitely alot bulkier than Weavile and is capable of doing a lot of work, Dragon Dance for the set-up, Drain Punch for STAB and recovery option, thunder punch for those bulky waters(amd gyarados mainly), ice punch for gliscor/ flyers and dragons.

635.gif

HailHydra!(Hydreigon)@Life Orb
Timid Nature
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpAtk, 252 Spe, 6 HP

Surf
Dark Pulse
Fire Blast
Draco Meteor

The main special sweeper of the team. I chose LO for the ability to not be locked in, although a Choice Scarf set was interesting as well. But I also don't want too many things Choiced. Which there are three that I'm debating on as you can see. The moves were chosen for the greatest coverage, and Draco Meteor plain out hurts from this thing, even after a drop.

I'm still unsure about the team without proper testing, so I'd like everyone's opinions on everything. Basically everything is open for change if it makes a significant impact on the betterness of the team, just remember the rules, have to have 4 pokes that are dark, allowed 2 that are not but they have to have a move/ability that ties them with the dark part of the team...

Hope to hear from you soon!

Threat List coming soon...

I think recover is the better move on sableye, and conkeldurr usually works well with leftovers because he will often get statused from something else and then he has the power boost and leftovers

I thought recover was the better move too simply because when the stallign gets down to it pain split isn't helping you recover at all.

As for conk, that may be true and I may do that, but the only thing is, which status, I could WoW hunt early in the game since it seems to be everywhere, but toxic and paralyze don't help at all! And sleep just makes him worthless so idk, I may still switch to that...

I'm pretty sure prankster Sableye is banned. Tbh im suprised how you aren't running a Spiritomb or Tyranitar. I'd drop your Sableye for a Spiritomb. Probably the standard

Spiritomb | Calm | Leftovers | 252 HP / 140 Def / 116 SpD
Will-o-Wisp | Dark Pulse | Pain Split | Hidden Power Fight

or something along the lines of that.

I honestly don't know what you can really do with this team since you're so limited. Maybe try a DD Moxie Scrafty and just hope that you can pull off a quick sweep. Consider trying it in place of Hydreigon or something, I don't know man.

Why would it be banned? If it is then fine spiritomb is in but Sableye is quite the useful mon. And now that I think about it, Scrafty would probably serve the best spot in place of zoroark, as he and hydreigon are basically the same...

Yes, Sableye is banned with Prankster because it's not released yet :$.

For your team; what proposed SoT is good but Scrafty adds you another Pokemon weak to Fighting moves.. your team is not very well-made. You're weak to many top threats .. !

Your Fight weakness is VERRRRY horrible.. as you've got tree Pokemons with the same typing. And, you have two Pokemons weak to Stealth Rock without a Rapid Spinner.

Okay the sableye thing makes since then. So outside of DW he's banned. And based on your comments I don't you read the RMT past the pokes descriptions. There are these weaknesses because I'm required to have 4 pokemon that are dark types. And none of them have the same typing??? Yes there are pokes on here that are part dark, and that's because of the rules. Now please read the RMT and offer sugeestions that fit within the restrictions I'm faced with.

I was just toying around with the idea in my head cause it seems interesting, you could probably try running something like

Tyranitar / Gliscor / Jellicent or Ferrothorn / Scrafty / Hydre / Spirotomb or something. Idk, just another thought, completely up to you in which direction you wanna take this team though.

Hmm, 4 darks, gliscor and jellicent both have taunt(dark move) sounds good! I have the sets for all but one, you thinking spdef ttar?

EDIT: You are a Saint lol. I really like this now that I think about it...

You could try a Sp. Def Chople Mix Tar or just a CB Tar. Either or could work.

Sorry, I've not read this part >w<. Anyway, when I say 'same typing', you know of course it's Dark --'!

Again, what said SoT is good. I think you can continue with the Tyranitar/Glisgor/Jellicent ----> great CORE. Around this, you can pu your Dark Pokemons with a Rapid Spinner :3.

EDIT;

The first one is better this Generation (I think). I have this set for you :
Spr_5b_248.png

Tyranitar @Chopple Berry
Ability : Sand Stream
Nature : Sassy
EVs : 252 HP / 180 SpA / 76 SpD
-Stealth Rock
-Crunch
-Fire Blast
-Pursuit / Ice Beam / Superpower

Scrafty is in over weavile. I'm not so worried about rocks now. And see not with the combination SoT suggested.

The Tar you posted is a Sp. Def tar....my item was just a chople opposed to leftovers lol
