Dark Void specifics

Haven't seen this info around, though it is fairly intuitive... here it is, and if you haven't heard it, it's New To You (tm).

Under Sleep Clause in 2v2, Dark Void will try to put the faster of the two targets to sleep first. If it fails/misses/whatever, it will then try for the second. If it hits, the second is protected by Sleep Clause and it fails automatically.

Interestingly, if the first target has a sleep berry, it will go to sleep, wake up automatically, and then the second target is fair game. This will show on PBR as both opponents getting hit by it, which I found curious as I was in Stargazer R2 at the time, which has Sleep Clause on.

I would like to know if the assertion that Darkrai is uber is based on the logic that Dark Void is mean in 1v1 and broken in 2v2; this is not the case. Gengar's sleep move is only somewhat less accurate and he is only somewhat more frail (not that it matters, all Gengar should have Focus Sash :D). I think an effort should be made to keep 600s out of ubers, as it seems some fairly arbitrary lines seperate some of them.

It is also important to note that any environment that allows Darkrai in the first place should have Sleep Clause automatically enforced or left off altogether; having it be casually enforced effectively locks out the move and defeats the purpose.

That's interesting, particularly for JAA players.

And in reference to your second point, Darkrai's uber status is down to a lot more than a semi-decent sleep move. If an 80% sleep move makes a Pokemon uber, then what are we gonna do with Breloom?

As there has been very little Darkrai usage, I can't really refer to any particular battle, but look at Gengar for example. He was a big star last gen, with his massive special attack and speed combined with his impressive movepool. Now look at Darkrai...better in every concievable way other than resistances.

If Gengar was that dominant, imagine what Darkrai would do if let loose on standards? Break it, that's what.

And for the record, Darkrai isn't officially uber yet. The Smogon tiers are yet to be finalised (and it's actually frowned upon to discuss them in too much depth...*gulp*), but don't hold your breath on using Darkrai in Standards.

Not officially uber but its most likely given the way people have are reacting to it. To see it end up in standard play would be quite surprising

I've seen this before in some Youtube battles. A lot. Except for the both opponents getting hit
