Darkamber8828 vs. Flora [Ref: Acklow]

I'm not reffing this just yet, but I want to say that
Nature Power: The Pokemon draws upon the natural elements present to use an attack it couldn’t normally use. A dirt terrain or sandy environment will produce Earthquake. An artificial environment with no natural elements will produce Tri Attack. Rocky terrain, a cave, or mountainous area will produce Rock Slide. A mostly grassy arena or field will produce Seed Bomb. A watery environment will produce Hydro Pump. A prevalence of snow will produce Blizzard.
I'm sure that it is based on prevalence of certain natural elements rather than what truly exists around. However, I will give you brownie points because technically there are plenty of rocks under the water, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were to work. So at this point, though, based on the strange way that NP is defined, I'll see what Deck Knight has to say about this attack.

-------------------------

Well, from the current looks of it, Darkamber had her Politoed in the shallows of the water while your Roselia was on the shoreline. So I'd assume that Lotad would be around there too. If I'm correct, most Lotad stay around the shallows (anime, an episode where Ash, Brock, and May see a bunch of Lotad and collect berries as well).

Generally speaking the Pokemon has to be surrounded by a particular element to get that nature power. It can't really summon rocks if all of them are at the bottom of the lake for example. Nature Power uses proximity and volume as the primary determinants. If you're standing on a patch of grass but you're next to a gigantic lake, Water is going to take precedence. A stone circle at the water's edge is more iffy, but generally speaking when two terrains are that close, whatever there is more of takes precedence. Move away from the water if you want to summon a different Nature Power, basically.

So if Lotad is on the shoreline, and the shoreline has a fairly large band of sand, It'll use Earthquake. If It's more like a shallow swamp edge, you'll get Mud Bomb. Based on the picture in the OP, if there's a couple of those big boulders around Lotad probably could use Rock Slide, since the ground is more rock than soil or sand. This chart can help.

Alright, so here's my discretion on it: Nature Power will not work in the current conditions as stated. Since you are in shallow water, there is a mixture of sedimentary rock and sand, BUT there is quite a bit of water as well. I would say that the attack would be more like an Earthquake, since we are going by the chart (sand/puddles/etc.). Which means that you can't "use" Nature Power->Rock Slide.

So Darkamber, if those are your final moves, then technically it is Flora's turn to order Banana Tree to do whatever it was meant to do.

This is my verdict.

Okay Grand Geneva, it's time to pound that little jerk and play ASB how it's meant to be!

With the help of Chlorophyll, you'll be about the speed of lightning while being a huge ass bastard. I want you to "Fly" overhead Yodawg as he does whatever (Ice Beam? dodged. Counter? not going to work but it should activate anyway since I said Fly). After you're overshadowing Yodawg, DROP DOWN AND STOMP! This should pummel Yodawg into the sand while making him immobile (he can't attack upward when his mouth is covered with that silly pad!). At best, it will Ice Beam straight across, which will be sand. And since Ice Beam is rendered as a puny beam, it won't reach the surface of your foot (from the Stomp, the impact should be like a meteor, leaving a surrounding of space around the foot, so there is no way the Ice Beam will get in contact with the foot... and if you go with the "ice freezes all water", then Yodawg should be freezing up his own mouth with his own Ice Beam). As Yodawg is stuck under your foot hopelessly Ice Beaming sand, end the round by blessing the beautiful sun with a Growth. We'll need the +2 boosts for next time.

Fly (Evasive overhead) - Stomp (right down onto Yodawg's lilypad) - Growth (with Stomp position still holding Yodawg under)

(that was some of my plan when i was sleeping thinking about this... if you wanna know, it was to first just Stomp Yodawg in, burrow it with sand, and then spam Earthquake as he's stuck "forever" but hmm, maybe even though I've already said it, I can use it in the future lol.)

ROUND 6 COMMENCE!

Here comes a very strange round!!

Flora stares Darkamber down. Unhappy by the loss of her Roselia (well, apparently she doesn't like Roselia's all that much, but anyways...), she prepares her second Pokemon. Tossing the Pokeball into the air, she yells, "Grand Geneva, Banana Tree, Tropius, whatever your real name really is, ENTER!!!!!"
Darkamber, surprised, opens her mouth wide as Flora's Pokemon appears outside of the small capsule.

A large Tropius shakes itself off, the large leaves on its back fluttering like wings. Yodawg's jaw drops a second.

Flora then commands Grand Geneva to Fly into the air. Yodawg, understanding that her Trainer's orders were to Counter any strikes, attempts to do so, but utterly fails.

Grand Geneva circles around Yodawg once, and then suddenly starts falling. Putting forth its foreleg, the large Tropius Stomps down on Yodawg's back. The poor Lotad's lilypad covers its face as the attack pummels it. Yodawg attempts to Ice Beam. Even though the attack misses Grand Geneva directly, it hits Yodawg's lilypad causing a chain reaction of freezing, freezing the lilypad first. The ice climbs up to Grand Geneva's foreleg, freezing it as well. It seems that the two Pokemon are frozen together!

Grand Geneva, although a tad irritated by being frozen to its opponent, takes the time to take the sun in. The Growth in the amount of sunlight allowed it to become energized even more so. Yodawg attempts to Ice Beam again, but misses. Nothing apparently happens this time though (I guess there's even more ice layered onto the two 'mons)...

End Round 6

Field Effects:

The Sun is still Shining

Grand Geneva uses Fly. It flies up into the air.
Yodawg uses Counter. It fails!
Grand Geneva uses Stomp. She Stomps down on Yodawg's back!
Yodawg uses Ice Beam. The attack misses! The attack freezes Yodawg's lilypad, which then follows its way up to Grand Geneva's foot.
The two Pokemon are stuck together!!
Grand Geneva uses Growth. It's Attack and Special Attack are raised two stages!!
Yodawg uses Ice Beam. The attack misses!

Yodawg takes 10 Damage.
Grand Geneva loses 6+3+5+7 Energy.
Yodawg loses 6+7+7 Energy.

Okay Grand Geneva, we gotta think carefully about the next plan.

You have one frozen foot right on top of Yodawg, keeping her pretty much stable. However, trying to bring her out is a bad idea since we don't want any naughty Ice Beams tossed at you. You know, you have another foot, right? Let's use it! Since Yodawg was pretty much smashed somewhat deep in the shallow water's dirt, I want you to kick the surrounding dirt...

Oh wait, what am I doing.

Fly x3
If Counter is used, replace the current action with Gust

How the Fly attack will work. Being the 220 pounds of goodiness that Grand Geneva is, she will lift the 5.7 pound lilypad into the high air with her incredible Speed of 86 (compared to Yodawg's .0000001) and her frozen foot still stuck on (she doesn't need it... just her wings are needed!) and then drop down from the sky like a meteor onto the dirt ground (not tucked in like normal, like foot down first)! I would think the ice touching Grand Geneva's foot and Yodawg's lilypad would break, but that's okay - that's something I'd like to happen. Grand Geneva would then resume normal Fly patterns (or the same process) for some hopefully awesome damage. When Grand Geneva is approaching the broken away Yodawg, she will have her wings laid backward as to prevent them from being frozen from Ice Beam (and plus it increases the momentum while doing so but that's always been normal in fly dives right).

Okay, I don't know how long that took to think of so much crap. Good luck Grand Geneva! <3

problem: YOU CAN'T GUST FOOT-TAD, HE'S STUCK TO YOUR FOOT DAMMIT

Counter to waste a turn, gtf into the water! Dinosaurs can't swim. Then spray a Toxic gas into the air quickly before ducking back underwater! The Tropius will have to breathe it while he's swooping down to murder you!

INITIATING ROUND 7!!!

Well, well, well, folks...looks like this round is going to be an interesting round!

Grand Geneva, the everpowerful Tropius is looking as majestic in this battle as ever!! Grand Geneva decides that the threat of a Counterattack from Yodawg is too dangerous, resorting to Gust to take care of the foe stuck to its foot. Warm air gushes into the ice that is bonding the two Pokemon. The ice quickly melts under the sustenance of such a warm attack. Yodawg quickly falls to the ground, ready to Counter any physical attacks from Tropius. Seeing that nothing of the sort is happening, the Lotad just skitters over towards the waters edge.

Quickly swimming into the water, Yodawg paddles its way towards the middle of the lake. Grand Geneva Flies into the air. Yodawg, sensing an impending attack, skitters away across the water from Grand Geneva's impending attack. Grand Geneva dives towards Yodawg's location, but the attack misses, since Yodawg was swimming away from Grand Geneva.

Flying back into the air, Grand Geneva reassures herself, getting ready for another attack. Yodawg quickly resurfaces, releasing a deadly cloud of Toxins into the air. Grand Geneva, seeing her chance dives straight at Yodawg. The attack hits Yodawg. Regaining focus, Yodawg quickly swims further away from Grand Geneva getting ready for the next round of combat.

End Round 7

Field Effects:

I'm hoping that I got that round correct, Darkamber, because your actions were certainly very sketchy to me (I wasn't sure what round you wanted Toxic to be blown up, etc..)

Edit @Flora:The use of "Dive" in this case was as a dodge, though I guess a "skitter across the water" would do just as well. I can edit that in.

Yeah, you got it.

Ice Beam to create a wall of ice to protect you from his attacks, chill, chill!

Ice Beam him on the third action if you can hit him, instead of the second chill.

Sorry for being vague.

also Tropius should have 1 less hp point!

109 ;)

Anyway, I don't know how Ice Beam can just create a wall of protective ice. If it's going to build up from the ground to the air, that's going to be a very slow process. Plus, I'm fairly sure Tropius's physical strength can just SMASH it! Hmm...

So Gust is fast enough to get a quick 15 damage before the ice wall gets up. Let's do that. 24 so far... but I don't really want to risk using Flying-type moves if the ice wall becomes gayer than I think. You know what... let's just Earthquake so everything gets hurt! Earthquake's 9.7 ~ 10 damage with +1 Growth is fine with me! The point of Earthquake, however, is to shatter that Ice wall so that it is of no more. When Yodawg is chilling, I want you to finish him off with a Fly! Use Earthquake if Acklow is mean though. But I think he's a good man!

Gust - Earthquake (shatter the Ice wall and, theoretically, it should be damaging Yodawg too, but the Ice wall is priority) - Fly
If the Ice wall is not shattered from the Earthquake, replace Fly with Earthquake

edit: wait, I don't know what the situation is. i forgot lol, lemme reread and edit if i want to.

---------------

Okay, Yodawg can't Dive because he doesn't have Dive in his movepool. He should be surfacing the waters if anything.

Wait, that means I have to object to the reffing. Yodawg can't Dive without Dive. :(

I mean, can a Ground-type just randomly use Dig? We never see that happen. Same for Flyers without the move Fly.

Flying Pokemon are gifted with extroardinary senses of vibration and often a set of wings that enable them to fly, giving them a massive tactical advantage over grounded Pokemon. Even Flying types without wings have a keen sense of ground vibrations, and can always evade Ground attacks whether they shake the earth or not. Flying types can take wing in almost any weather condition, and to that end they can also create massive wind gusts without a large deal of recoil.

Water is the Normal of the Sea. It's also the Flying of the Sea. Water types are certainly diverse, but unlike Normal types they aren't all really multi-faceted or multi-talented. Each has their own niche. They are like flying types in that they have complete mobility in water and are capable of breathing in it, while almost all other Pokemon must eventually go up for air. Most water types can breathe air as well as water, however their mobility on land is more suspect, especially among water types whose only means of propulsion are fins. Splash only goes so far. Since Ice is merely frozen water, most Water types can use Ice Moves quite effectively.

I think the move "Dive" is different from "diving"

I guess digging isn't like that because it's slightly harder. People need big machines and stuff to do it, but if you're a pokemon using Dig, it's like, 1-2-3.

EDIT: oh wait, it costs energy to stay underwater. I guess Flora's right :/

Well, I'm under the impression that a Flying type stays in the air (at least for the majority of flying types). Therefore, it should go without saying that a fish or other water type will go underwater if need be.

BEGIN ROUND 8!!!

So the battle reconvenes!

Grand Geneva blasts a fast and furious Gust of wind straight at Yodawg at Mach 3 speed. The force of the attack was so fast that it hits Yodawg in a critical spot (the groin? lol)! Yodawg, regaining his momentum, quickly begins charging up a ball of light. Firing this ball in the form of Ice Beam, he creates a wall of ice using the water that he was in.

Seeing this wall of ice, Grand Geneva lands on the shoreline of the lake and stomps on the ground once. The force of the stomp hits a stress in the ground, causing an Earthquake to hit the lake! The force of the earthquake causes the water of the lake to ripple into big waves. The ice wall floats about a bit, and hurts Yodawg a little (because of the recoil of the Ice Wall hitting Lotad). Yodawg, however, doesn't seem to mind, as he chills for a little bit.

Once again, Grand Geneva notices that the wall of ice has not fallen. Irked by the lack of any break in the ice, Grand Geneva stomps on the ground again, forcing more stress into the ground. The Earthquake ripples into the water, causing massive waves. The waves smash against the ice wall and Yodawg, confusing Yodawg (due to the amount of times he spun around as the waves hit him on all sides, lol), albeit slightly. Yodawg, although a bit confused, manages to fire off an Ice Beam at Grand Geneva.

End Round 8

Field Effects:

The Sun is still shining (2 more rounds)

Grand Geneva uses Gust! The attack is Super Effective! It's a Critical Hit!

@Flora: Alright, so the crack is what allowed Lotad to attack with Ice Beam. The wall is more or less a frozen chunk of ice floating in the water, the depth of the wall is 30 feet while the height above the water is about 6 feet. Width is about 5-6 feet. It curves slightly towards Lotad. I'll make a tiny diagram if you'd like:

\
L ) Assume that the "L" is Lotad. The wall essentially looks like that if you were looking at it perpendicular to the water. The crack itself is about 1 foot in height and 6 inches in width, allowing an Ice beam to be fired.
| There are cracks, however, that exist in the wall other than the main crack, though these are smaller and less apparent.
|

Okay, that puts me in a shaky position then I think!

It seems like I can make Tropius create a lightning-fast Gust at the open Lotad and get this over with so let's do that. If for some odd reason Lotad is able to quickly move out of the Gust, then Chill as Lotad will probably be unable to attack too. If the Chill had to go in effect, then we're going to spam Earthquake until he faints.

Gust - Chill - Gust
If Lotad somehow moves out of the way and would block out the move, replace the actions with Chill - Earthquake - Earthquake

The Short Round 9 That I Wish I didn't have to Ref

So we find Grand Geneva, just chillin', killin' by the lake shore. She seems to be having quite the time of her life.
Yodawg is swimming about, under and above the water, nonstop...

Grand Geneva then stomps on the ground once. It seems like she's through chillin' about. The resulting Earthquake hits Yodawg pretty badly. Yodawg tries to dodge it, but utterly fails.

Yodawg faints, and this seems like a pretty bad thing for Darkamber8828. Will she be able to pick up from this fall from grace and take that Tropius down?

The sun is shining and Grand Geneva is happy. Her new opponent is x4 weak to her STAB, so she can get off quite well to finish this match. She decides to Giga Drain Squashy.
Squashy isn't too pleased with this move, and Rain Dances since her emo desires are beginning to become quite apparent (I mean, who seriously would take on something that is x4 stronger than you?).

Squashy then creates a massive Sludge Wave which hits Grand Geneva square in the face (and body, derp). Grand Geneva counterattacks with a powerful Leaf Blade.

Squashy, becoming desperate, shoots a Supersonic wave at Grand Geneva. The impact of the wave is dead on, intensely confusing Grand Geneva.
Grand Geneva attempts to Giga Drain again, but since she is so confused about what's going on (I would be too), she instead hurts herself in confusion! Dang.
