Darkrai @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Bomb
The new moon has risen, and Darkrai begins to bring terror upon National Dex! With its superb Speed tier and ability to gain setup opportunities against Pokemon it forces out like Galarian Slowking and Iron Crown, Darkrai is able to become a frightening setup sweeper. Focus Blast targets Dark-resistant Pokemon like Ting-Lu and Mega Tyranitar while also threatening Steel-types like Heatran and Ferrothorn immediately and without having to use its Z-Move. Sludge Bomb hits Fairy-types like Tapu Koko, Iron Valiant, and Clefable, preventing the former two from coming in safely to revenge kill it. Darkinium Z allows Darkrai to immediately rid of Pokemon that could potentially ruin its sweep, like Toxapex and Gliscor, and generally gives it an explosive attack in most scenarios. Darkrai appreciates stopgaps like Landorus-T and Mega Scizor against revenge killers such as Mega Lopunny and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, with both also providing pivot support. Darkrai also values offensive teammates like Iron Valiant and Ogerpon-W easing matchups against Pokemon like Toxapex and Mega Tyranitar. In return, it helps break through their checks such as Galarian Slowking and Mega Latias.
