Hey, Shace here with my first UU RMT. I've played UU for awhile now and i'm at a CRE of about 1480 at the moment.
This team came about when i was thinking of sweepers that you never really see. I ended up deciding on DDFera.
However even with a team built around him he's probably the weakest member of my team, As you'll see.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team Building Process:
First I started with DDFera as he's the sweeper i chose.
Next i thought to myself, what are the main stops to Fera? Registeel, Milo, and physically bulky grass types, So NP Passho Houndoom and CB Rhyperior came into play.
I decided immediately i wanted spikes to help with my sweep and i didn't want to dedicate anyone out of the lead spot for SR, Omastar was perfect for the position.
My team was looking abit EQ weak and i needed something to complete my F/W/G core, after some testing Sceptile proved to the best.
For the last slot i chose Spiritomb as he's a staple on my teams and he's generally a dick to pretty much everything.

In Depth:
Omastar (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
Offensive Omastar is who i lead off with, he'll usually grab a ko as well as SR and at least one layer of spikes.
Stab modest surf coming off of 115 Special attack is putting a dent in anything that doesn't resist it.
Ice beam has proved more useful than HP grass with focus sash, 1HKOing pokes like tangrowth and sceptile who think they can get a easy kill.
One of my favorite leads of all time who rarely fails me. He doesn't always live for long, but he's just as useful late or mid game if he makes it.
The only thing i don't like about omastar is that he gives me 3 weaknesses to two types instead of just 2.
Rhyperior (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 88 HP/252 Atk/168 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Megahorn
- Rock Blast
Rhyperior already hits like a goddamn truck without a stat boosting item, with a CB it's just devastating.
Taking super effective hits like a champ and 2HKOing the entire UU metagame with the correct move.
I love this guy as he rips teams apart quite literally, I haven't seen a defensive core that can stand up to him. He's my go-to guy for punishing walls like registeel or putting a dent in bulky waters who would stop fera's sweep.
Houndoom (F) @ Passho Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd/152 SAtk/100 Atk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse
- Sucker Punch
You know i never noticed how quickly LO kills Houndoom since it's the only item i've ever used on him before, not having it is actually a good improvement.
At +2 he's still 1HKOing most things while passho lets him 2 hit ko milo and beat it. Sucker punch is for Duggy and a last hit if doom's low on health and something like azu comes in. He gets plently of opportunities to set up with such a grass dominated metagame, does his job fairly well.
Sceptile (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Ice]
SubSeed Sceptile is a boss. I've never used subseed sceptile before as I'm not fond of being walled by grasses but sceptile gets around that quite nicely unlike jumpluff.
He hasn't disappointed me yet, easily the mvp of my team even winning me a game when i was down 5-1. He 2HKOs every grass type not named venusaur with hp ice while leaf storm lets me hit everything harder with his stab, sadly he doesn't do anything particular for Fera but Sceptile is the member i'd least likely replace.
Spiritomb (F) @ Dread Plate
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/140 Atk/116 SDef
Brave nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Psychic
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Will-o-wisp
Tomb is what holds everything together i suppose, he walls and counters so many things it's not even funny. His coverage is terrible though. Dread Plate was chosen over lefties because he wasn't hitting as hard as i wanted, the change has proved to be effective however. Spiritomb has probably caused the most ragequits out of anyone of my team. He also takes the fighting attacks which could be problematic for my team and burns the physical attackers that like to switch in on him thinking he's CB locked into pursuit.
Feraligatr (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Tail
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
And here's the star of the team!...or rather what should have been the star. Maybe i'm using the wrong set but i've been let down over and over again by DDfera's sweeping capabilities. He always misses a ko somehow and gets twaved or just hit by something that limits his sweeping terribly. Aqua Tail was chosen over waterfall since DDfera hits like a pansy even after +1. Ice punch/EQ give me the best coverage. I usually try to bring him out late or mid game but he's still rather disappointing thus far.
Changes in Bold.
