Alright everyone, December stats are up, which means that the OU list will be updated soon!

Some big differences are:

- Huge rise in Staraptor (Tee hee, people have started to catch onto BulkRaptor!)

- Tentacruel is still in OU range, although it did go down 14 spots

- D/P has called for the Rise of the Porygon2s

- Tyranitar knocked down to 5th by Gyarados

- Hail teams have gone down a bit as shown with Abomasnow dropping several places (still in OU range)


Those are my points for now. Let's discuss!
 
The fact that Zapdos is in the top 50 is interesting - I've only seen it once or twice, ever, outside of my own teams.

Rest of the stuff is standard... Blissey/Gengar are as whored as ever.

Also, Hippowdown leads aren't as common anymore.

Also, I kind of like the idea of having a set number of places for OU, since having something in BL doesn't make a huge deal of difference IMO.
 
Gengar is still suprising me being that high. Tyranitar is going down, I noticed that, and I'm not suprised it went down. Weavile is 9th? That is suprising.

Some wierd things, might comment on later, if I find more as I look into it more.

Celebi usage has gone way up!
Edit:Metagross (32207375 points) It also got a huge boost, it's used more than Cressilia and Skamory!
 
Salamence in top 5 leads is...weird. So much stuff can get rid of it or scare it off...

The Crobat usage didn't surprise me, but the fact that Hippowdon is only 24th is funny. Half the teams I see use him as a lead, and I expected him to make top 15. But he did make top 5 leads.

The Sceptile usage (of course) is a downer for me, as Charizard saw use for him overall, and UMBREON got more use as a lead. Umbreon usage at all is weird (Heracross = free kill), but I guess you can trap-pass lead. Smeargle does it better.

Tentacruel and Spiritomb fashion is failing. Ten positions (Tentacruel) is too much.
Jirachi and Dragonite are losing usage, but I don't know why. xD
Metagross, Magnezone and Suicune have improved their positions, but Kingdra and Staraptor are the stars in this list. Staraptor deserves more love.

I think people are less opting for a stalling game and going somewhat offensively. I agree with the correlation of Magnezone useage and Skarmory drop, What interests me is the fact that Forretress (my favourite physical wall) is dropped from #12 last month to #17, only 3 places behind Skarmory. Mayhaps we are seeing there being more love for offensively based teams?
 
Pretty much all the walls have decreased in usage in December. :(

Anyone notice how many places Porygon2 climbed in leads this month? It'll be interesting is he leads more than Porygon-Z sometime in the future. That'll open people's eyes...

My favorite changes. Also I hope you guys are looking at points not usages, as points are imo much more important (who cares what Newbie Joe is using? I want to know what Cooltrainer Obi has on his team!)
 
I think this list just goes to show you how much sway Smogon has. I can garuntee you that for EVERY SINGLE popular "New Set Here!" thread on smogon, there has been a huge jump in that pokemons usage on shoddy.
 
I have to say, I'm enjoying seeing the increase in Porygon2 and Mr. Mime. Machamp is also rising rapidly, thanks to people running Bulk Up / Dynamicpunch. Tyranitars usage dropping didn't surprise me, though it'll shoot back up soon.
 
Not surprisingly, Garchomp's still second and Tyranitar is starting to fall(slowly, but still), and the newer players seem to be realizing how good of a poke Metagross really is.

I see Tar falling out of the top 5 in the next few months and Ape to rise even higher up the list. Electivire is still pretty good, you just need to kill it's counters just like any other sweepers.
