Decidueye's niche stems from its great wallbreaking prowess, augmented by Choice Specs. Its typing allows it to switch in on and check a bevy of attackers, such as Grass-types like Rotom-C and Virizion as well as Water- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Vaporeon, Rhydon, and Gastrodon. Despite facing stiff competition from Virizion as an offensive Grass-type, Decidueye's Ghost typing helps it more effectively punish Pokemon that resist Grass such as Vileplume and Salazzle with its STAB Shadow Ball, and U-turn lets it retain momentum against Pokemon it struggles to damage, such as Charizard and Braviary. However, it should be noted that Decidueye's mediocre Speed tier leaves it more susceptible to offensive pressure than its competition, and its lack of coverage moves makes it difficult to break through bulky Pokemon with recovery. Leaf Storm, its main STAB attack, allows Decidueye to heavily dent or OHKO even neutral targets in Silvally-Fairy, Coalossal, and Sableye, while Shadow Ball is the secondary STAB attack and can nail common switch-ins like Salazzle, Copperajah, and Vileplume. Hurricane is preferred in the third slot, nailing the likes of Virizion and Scrafty while also hitting Drampa, Braviary, and Charizard for neutral damage; alternatively, Giga Drain may be used as a form of passive recovery, enabling Decidueye to continually check passive threats such as Gastrodon, Steelix, and Vaporeon. In the last slot, U-turn is used to generate momentum for Decidueye's teammates in the case of an opposing double switch. A Timid nature is chosen so as to outrun Bewear whilst Speed tying with other base 70s.

Decidueye fits best on offensive builds; teammates like Vikavolt and Passimian can form a powerful VoltTurn core, whilst the former can simultaneously lay Sticky Web, aiding Decidueye in threatening faster offensive Pokemon such as Duraludon, Choice Specs Indeedee-M, and Alolan Raichu. Passimian can obliterate Normal- and Dark- types like Drampa, Snorlax, and Scrafty, which comfortably stomach any of Decidueye's STAB attacks; for this reason, other strong Fighting-types like Bewear and Toxicroak are also good partners. Drednaw and Rhydon synergize well with Decidueye, particularly on Sticky Web teams, as they check the Fire-types that Decidueye is vulnerable to, such as Charizard and Salazzle. These Fire-types also work well alongside Decidueye, as Decidueye is able to check Water- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Vaporeon and Rhydon for them. Water-types, like Vaporeon, Drednaw, and Gastrodon, make for good teammates, as they check Fire-types and benefit from Decidueye's ability to check Virizion.

Decidueye's niche stems from its great breaking prowess, augmented by Choice Specs. Leaf Storm, its main STAB attack, allows Decidueye to heavily dent or OHKO even neutral targets in Silvally, Coalossal, and Sableye - Giga Drain is used as a form of passive recovery, enabling Decidueye to continually check passive threats such as Jellicent, Steelix, and Vaporeon. (move this to later, after the hurricane explanation) Shadow Ball is the secondary STAB, and can nail common switch-ins like Salazzle, Copperajah, and Vileplume. In the last slot, U-Turn is preferred, as it allows Decidueye to generate momentum for its teammates in the case of a double switch, but alternatively, Air Slash is a viable option, enabling offensive pressure against the likes of Virizion, and Scrafty, which would otherwise wall it. (hurricane mention, hits the aforementioned fighters and drampa, then gigadrain as an additional option) It should be noted that Overgrow is used over Decidueye's hidden ability - Long Reach, as none of Choice Specs Decidueye's moves contact the target anyway, and futhermore, Overgrow can help by further boosting Decidueye's Grass-type moves in a pinch. (insert reasoning for timid nature- speed tie with other base 70s and beat the bear)

Decidueye fits best in offensive builds; teammates like Vikavolt and Passimian are almost quintessential, the former of which forms a can form a powerful VoltTurn core, whilst simultaneously laying Sticky Web, aiding Decidueye in threatening faster offensive Pokemon such as Duraludon, Choice Specs Indeedee-M, and Raichu-Alola, (let's make these two sentences.) whereas the latter, Passimian, can obliterate Decidueye's truest counters, Drampa, Snorlax, and Drapion, all of which can take Decidueye's STAB attacks easily, whilst also pressuring Dark-types, like Scrafty, Silvally-Dark, and Morpeko. Drednaw synergises well with Decidueye, especially on Sticky Web teams, as it checks the Fire-types that Decidueye is vulnerable to, that is, Ninetales and Salazzle. The use of Fire-types, namely the aforementioned Ninetales and Salazzle alongside Decidueye works incredibly well, The aforementioned Fire-types also work well with due to Decidueye's defensive due to its typing allowing it to check the vast majority of Water-types, which Salazzle and Ninetales are prone to (such as water type example and water type example). Lastly, Vaporeon with Special Defense investment is a worthwhile teammate, as alongside Drednaw in this regard, it is able to check Fire-types, but furthermore, it checks the aforesaid Drampa, who is immune to both of Decidueye's STABs, whilst providing cleric support for Decidueye, as well as the rest of the team.

(who appreciates decidueye's typing? things that dislike virizion appreciating virizion being checked, like those water types you mentioned in the last sentence, etc. those fire-types sure like decidueye checking ground-types like rhydon, too. beef this teammates section up a bit.)

implement then tag again for another look

Decidueye's niche stems from its great breaking prowess, augmented by Choice Specs. (to me, the overview here seems quite brief, doesn't tell readers why you would use decid specifically. i would add on how it compares to pokemon that fulfill the same role, specifically specs viriz, mention pros and cons when u compare both). Leaf Storm, its main STAB attack, allows Decidueye to heavily dent or OHKO even neutral targets in Silvally-Fairy, Coalossal, and Sableye (as far as im aware, in writing standards if u mention silvally, it means the normal type form, so yeah. and also, not all silvally formes would get beat by leaf storm cuz theres silvally-steel, therefore specification would help here) - Shadow Ball is the secondary STAB, and can nail common switch-ins like Salazzle, Copperajah, and Vileplume. Hurricane is preferred in the third slot, nailing the likes of Virizion and Scrafty whilst hitting Drampa for neutral damage; alternatively, Giga Drain may be used as a form of passive recovery, enabling Decidueye to continually check passive threats such as Jellicent Gastrodon, Steelix, and Vaporeon. (this one is more subjective, but imo jellicent can viably run hex in the 4th slot which makes decid not as reliable. on the other hand, gastro does not run ice beam as commonly, so cld be a good mention here). In the last slot, U-Turn is preferred over anything else, as it allows Decidueye to generate momentum for its teammates in the case of a double switch. ("preferred over anything else" seems to imply that there are other viable options you could run in the 4th slot, but there arent any other options listed here, wld remove to avoid confusion). A Timid nature is chosen so as to outrun Bewear, whilst speed tying with other base 70s.

in terms of competition vs specs viriz, just wanna offer some suggestions of pros and cons here u cld consider
pros: ghost stab, which allows you to hit vileplume hard without opting for ur coverage move (stab move is more spammable than coverage after all)
cons: lower speed, which means u dont break as freely as viriz cuz theres more threats that wld outspeed.

Decidueye fits best in offensive builds; teammates like Vikavolt and Passimian can form a powerful VoltTurn core, (change this to a period if u implement the change) whilst simultaneously laying Vikavolt is able to lay Sticky Web, aiding Decidueye in threatening faster offensive Pokemon such as Duraludon, Choice Specs Indeedee-M, and Raichu-Alola. (the way u phrased it implies that both vikavolt and passimian can lay sticky web, this is not true as only vika can do so). Passimian can obliterate Drampa, Snorlax, and Drapion, who comfortably stomach any of Decidueye's STABs, whilst also pressuring Dark-types, like Scrafty, Silvally-Dark, and Morpeko. (i would probs rework the sentence to make it read more smoothly, something like "Passimian can obliterate Normal- and Dark-types such as Drampa, Snorlax and Scrafty, which can pose an issue to Decidueye." at the very least, would remove the drapion mention there, i dont think taking upwards of about 60% is considered comfortable). Drednaw synergises well with Decidueye, particularly on Sticky Web teams, as it checks the Fire-types that Decidueye is vulnerable to, that is, Ninetales Charizard and Salazzle. (ninetales has the potential to catch on the switch with solar beam, charizard is a more reliable mention). The aforementioned Fire-types alongside Decidueye work incredibly well, due to its typing allowing it to check the vast majority of Water- and Ground-types, such as Rhydon, Vaporeon, Jellicent, and Mudsdale, which Salazzle and Ninetales Charizard are prone to. (changing ninetales to zard also, feel like u wld want to adjust the phrasing here, it sort of reads like the fire-types check rhydon and the other stuff for decid, to me at least, and cld confuse other readers. content here is fine). Water-types, like Vaporeon, Drednaw, and Gastrodon, make for good teammates as they benefit from Decidueye being able to check Virizion, whilst also checking Fire-type opponents. (similarly here, seems to imply decid checks the fire-type opponents because of the phrasing used "also checking", content is fine otherwise, just rework the phrasing imo).

Decidueye's niche stems from its great breaking prowess, augmented by Choice Specs. [additionally, throw in something about its typing letting it switch into and check stuff like viriz / rotom-mow / bulky waters / grounds] Despite facing stiff competition from Choice Specs Virizion as an offensive Grass-type, its higher Special Attack, [super small difference] Ghost typing helps it STAB Shadow Ball to more effectively punish Grass resists such as Vileplume and Salazzle with its STAB Shadow Ball, andy Ghost- typing allowing it to spinblock and potentially switch in on the slew of Fighting-types in RU [only prominent spinner rn is Coalossal, which you do not spinblock because it is a fire type. every non-SD Viriz Fighting-type you would run into can beat Decidueye] all put it ahead of Virizion, [this implies it is better than VIrizion - it is definitely not better overall, so don't be misleading abt that]. and U-Turn lets it retain momentum against Pokemon it struggles to damage, such as Charizard and Braviary.
