MY TEAM

Hello, this is one of my first RMTs outside of PS. I've been doing competitive battling ever since fourth gen, and it seems that this team has been doing the best out of any of my previous 6th gen teams. What I'm trying to do is mold a lot of the things that make a team great into a powerful machine. This includes the following: defensive typing, good bulk, momentum, offensive presence, phasing, taunting, hazard removal, hazard support, recovery moves and items, status, and status removal. The team utilizes a defensive core of fire/grass/water (heatran/ferro/rotom-w) as well as some extra bulk in the form of Mandibuzz and Celebi. Gyarados is there as a sweeper because I like the ability to switch into resisted moves from pokemon that have been weakened and evolve into Gyarados-Mega and use a move depending on the situation (this most happens near the end when I am confident of Gyarados' abilities to make an impact or win the game). Also, he can set up a dragon dance at full health against many pokemon and tank a hit. Alright, here we go...
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
IVS: 0 At
Nature: Calm
-Lava Plume
-Earth Power
-Stealth Rocks
-Roar
Heatran has the typing to absorb many moves aimed at his teammates such as fire moves directed at Ferrothorn and bug moves aimed Celebi. It is also able to stop most Genesect in their tracks. Leftovers gives Heatran a form of recovery. Flash Fire is the choice for ability as it allows Heatran to absorb fire attacks and power up Heatran's Lava Plume. EVs were placed fully into HP and SpD to maximize special bulk and survive even super effective moves like Earth Power from opposing Specially Defensive Heatran and Surf from Specs Latios. The remaining four were thrown to Special Attack to deal a little more damage. The attack IVs were put to 0 to reduce the damage of Foul Play and Swagger because Klefki is an evil monster, and I hate him :( The nature chosen was Calm to maximize Special Defense. As for moves, Lava Plume and Earth Power were chosen as attacking options that cover pokemon that aren't dragons or flying waters. Even if they are, Lava Plume has a better Burn chance than Flamethrower, and it can burn them on the switch. Stealth Rock was chosen in the third moveslot as an entry hazard to wear down the opponent's team. Roar is used in the final moveslot to remove pokemon that are attempting to set up and to deal entry hazard damage.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 At / 252 Def
Nature: Impish
-Spikes
-Leech Seed
-Thunder Wave
-Power Whip
Ferrothorn goes well with Heatran as it doesn't have to stay in vs fire. Leftovers were given for recovery in conjunction with Leech Seed and Iron Barbs are there to do damage switching in against contact moves and to deal damage against any other contact moves. Spikes provide even more entry hazard damage. Leech Seed further increases the need to switch against ferro or a pokemon I switch in. Thunder Wave is there to hit sweepers on the switch or survive a hit and throw it on. Power Whip allows Ferro not to be complete Taunt bait and hits waters for super effective damage.
Rotom-W @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Leviate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
IVs: 0 At
Nature: Bold
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
-Rest
-Will-O-Wisp
This guy doesn't just switch; he damages when he switches. This keeps a better offensive momentum than Jellicent, who I had in before him. He does his job of tanking and staying alive better than Jellicent, too, because Toxic can now be rested off and it has an electric attack. Max Defense and a Chesto Berry Rest set were used to make him able to tank many hits and recover instantly. Hydro Pump and Volt Switch are pretty standard, and Hydro Pump deals a lot of damage on ground types who could switch into Volt Switch. Will-O-Wisp is there to hit Tyranitar as well as just about anything else just to lay on constant damage with Stealth Rocks and Spikes. Not to mention, Will-O-Wisp makes it that much harder to take out Mandibuzz and Gyarados with a physical 'mon. IVs for Attack are 0 again to mitigate Foul Play and Swagger.
Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Def
IVs: 0 At
Nature: Bold
-Roost
-Defog
-Taunt
-Foul Play
Mandibuzz is quite the defensive King -ahem, excuse me- Queen. Overcoat allows her to take powder moves and weather moves, and Roost lets her recover every bit of health she needs right back. She can sustain hits from Stone Edges and Ice Punches. Taunt helps her to not be hit by status from slower pokes. Defog clears the field when it is needed, and this can help Gyarados sweep more easily as well as keep other team members alive. Foul Play is for anyone willing to set up on Mandibuzz. Scizors and dragons and Calm Minders like to do this, and, though there is no boosted power against Calm Minders, they tend to be Psychics. Steels are no longer resistant against dark as well, and the only three things that resist dark are fairy, fighting, and dark itself. 0 IVs and a Bold nature were changed from an Impish nature because Foul Play is the only attacking move, and uses the opponent's attack stat in place of my own when using the move. Knock Off used to be somewhere in there, but it just wasn't doing well against much (Eviolite, Assault Vest, etc... were good hits, though).
Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 180 HP / 252 SpD / 76 Spe
IVs: 0 At
Nature: Timid
-Heal Bell
-Recover
-Perish Song
-Earth Power
The EVs in Speed were made so that Celebi can outspeed max speed Heatrans and neutral natured 252 Spe Lucarios that don't mega evolve. Earth Power hits both super effectively. Heal Bell puts a stop to all status on the team, and ends a second Rest for Rotom-W if it used it. Recover is for recovery and Perish Song can take the last poke out as well as force switches. Since Celebi has natural cure, the only status it should worry about is that from Toxic Spikes. The rest of the EVs were thrown into Special Bulk to maximize its effectiveness against ice beams, and flamethrowers, and lava plumes, and weak special moves. I may change Perish Song to Psychic to deal with Conkeldur a little more, and if anyone thinks I can sacrifice bulk to make it more offensive, please give me your suggestion(s) for a set that would go with this team. The reason I have this pokemon is that I used to run Blissey in this spot, but my team had a bad weakness to fighting types so I switched it out.
Mr Jolly, the Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate ----> Mold Breaker
EVs: 56 HP / 252 At / 200 Spe
Nature: Jolly
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
This is my team's number one sweeper! Gyarados has a nice attack and speed boost when he mega evolves, and, when he isn't mega evolved, he can switch into fighting, bug, and ground type moves and set up! He may also switch into steel moves, fire moves, water moves, and he can switch into Dark moves and Ghost moves mega evolved. Intimidate reduces physical damage when not mega evolved, and, when he IS mega evolved, Mold Breaker allows him to hit Gengar and Rotoms with Earthquake.
200 Speed Effort Values and a Jolly nature allow Gyarados to outspeed neatral natured, 252 speed Rotom-W. With a DD, I'm faster if it's scarfed. Attack is fully invested in to hit as hard as possible, and the rest of the EVs are thrown to HP to maximize the bulk. Gyarados likes it when the opponent's team is worn down and when he can get a dragon dance or two up. That usually means there's nothing to stop it. Waterfall, Earthquake, and Ice Fang are resisted by nothing, and Ice Fang is more accurate than Stone Edge. Stone Edge, however, may help more with Kyurem-B (really don't like the accuracy, though).
TEAM REVIEW
This team focuses on its defenses, hazards, and status to wear an opponent's team down. The remaining pokemon are taken out by a sweep from Gyarados or from getting worn down and attacked. It defends itself with Defog, Taunt, Recovery, and resistances. It's a great team, but fears Life Orb Genesect when Heatran is gone, and Conkeldur may be an issue. Help with this would be nice, and so would other EV spreads. It would also be nice to receive tips on how to make better RMTs in the future. Thank you. :)
