Torkoal is best known for setting up sun and facilitating strong sun teams, carrying them on its shell. Torkoal uses Lava Plume for its good Base Power and burn chance, but Flamethrower can be used for more power. Stealth Rock is used, as Torkoal is usually leading and can get entry hazards up early-game. combine the two words with a hyphen Rapid Spin keeps entry hazards off the field, which allows it and its teammates, particularly the Fire-types, to stay healthy throughout the game. Different moves can be used to round out the moveset. Yawn provides opportunities for its strong teammates, whether through a sleeping foe or a forced switch. However, Will-O-Wisp can be used to more consistently burn physical attackers, while Body Press can be used to take advantage of its great Defense against Kingambit, Baxcalibur, and Roaring Moon. Tera Water gives Torkoal a great defensive typing, flipping matchups against Pokemon like Great Tusk and Azumarill, letting it stay in the game longer and cripple the aforementioned wallbreakers with a burn.

Pokemon that take advantage of Torkoal's sun are great partners. Some of these Pokemon include Walking Wake, which greatly appreciates the immense power boost to both its Special Attack or Speed alongside Hydro Steam, and it is also great at threatening weather setters like Tyranitar and Pelliper. Other strong Protosynthesis Pokemon can use the power or Speed boosts the sun provides, like Great Tusk using an Attack or Defense boost to wallbreak or check physical attackers such as Kingambit and Dragonite, respectively. Similarly, Roaring Moon uses the Speed or Attack boost to become a wallbreaker with Choice Band. Fire-types like Scovillain, Ceruledge, and Iron Moth enjoy having their STAB moves boosted even further. Hatterene is a great teammate on fast-paced sun teams, as it deflects Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce and prevents Torkoal and its teammates from taking as much chip damage.

Torkoal is best known for setting up the sun with Drought and facilitating strong sun teams, carrying them on its shell. This set does it’s best to have the sun as long and as often as it possibly can, while also providing utility for it’s team. It’s coverage is nonexistent, having only one attack in Lava Plume, which also spreads burn around to enemies, creating more utility. Stealth Rock is used, as since Torkoal is usually leading, it can get these up easily. Rapid Spin is also used for that same reason, as the many Fire types Torkoal supports greatly appreciate Stealth Rocks being removed from play. Finally, Yawn is used to round out the moveset, to provide ins for it’s strong teammates, whether it be through a sleeping enemy or forcing a switch. Torkoal should not be using Tera, as it can be saved for one of it’s teammates to take advantage of the sun. However, tera water can be used defensively to gain a great defensive typing, flipping matchups against Pokemon like Great Tusk, Azumarill, and Dondozo.

The best teammates to use with Torkoal in any situation are Pokemon who greatly benefit from the sun it is so great at setting up. Some of these Pokemon include Walking Wake, which greatly appreciates the immense power boost to both it’s stats and STAB move, Hydro Steam. and other strong Protosynthesis Pokemon such as Roaring Moon and Great Tusk. Also, Fire Pokemon like Armarouge, Ceruledge, and Volcarona enjoy having their STAB fire moves boosted even further. Other weathers can interrupt the sun that Torkoal’s team loves, so Pokemon like Walking Wake are good to have to threaten other weather setters like Tyranitar, Pelliper, and Chilly Reception Slowking so the sun stays on the field. You need to delve into a little bit more depth with this section, in my opinion. Torkoal exists solely off the strengths of its teammates; so each of its most effective teammates need to be given proper development in this section. What benefits do Roaring Moon and Great Tusk bring to sun teams? Do they check certain Pokemon? Can they sweep? This section should, in some sense, be more about Sun then it is about Torkoal. Be as specific as possible.

This set does it’s best to have the sun as long and as often as it possibly can, while also providing utility for it’s team. It’s coverage is nonexistent, having only one attack in This is a tad unnecessary, re-word it just to mention what Lava Plume does and why its run over Torkoal's other STABs. Lava Plume, which also spreads burn around to enemies, creating more utility. Stealth Rock is used, as since Torkoal is usually leading, it can get these up easily. I think it is important to define what "easily" means in this context. Does it have a good match-up against other leads? Does it beat common defog/spinners? Just because its often ran as a lead doesn't necessarily mean it's good at setting rocks. Also, Fire Pokemon like Armarouge, Ceruledge, and Volcarona Armarouge sun isn't really common, it's usually more on Psychic Terrain sets. Scovillian or Charizard are perhaps better options in this section. enjoy having their STAB fire moves boosted even further. Other weathers can interrupt the sun that Torkoal’s team loves, so Pokemon like Walking Wake are good to have to threaten other weather setters like Tyranitar, Pelliper, and Chilly Reception Slowking Slowking isn't *really* threatened by Walking Wake, and if Walking Wake is the only Pokemon that can be used to check other weather setters, you might as well have this line placed where you talk about Walking Wake earlier. so the sun stays on the field. Another great teammate is Hatterene, as it can deflect Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce, allowing Torkoal and it's Stealth Rock weak team to take a lot less chip damage. While this is true, the advantage of Hatterene is that it works great on fast-paced, offensive teams that prefer to deter hazards rather than spend time cleaning them up. Virtually all Sun teams fall into this category, which is why Hatterene usually finds a spot on them.

Torkoal is best known for setting up the sun with Drought and facilitating strong sun teams, carrying them on its shell. This set does it’s best to have the sun as long and as often as it possibly can, while also providing utility for it’s team. Torkoal usually chooses Lava Plume as it's STAB, due to it's good base power and good chance to burn opponents, although Flamethrower or even Fire Blast (never run this. Flamethrower is an okay mention but this one should just be cut out) can be chosen, trading the higher utility chance for power. Stealth Rock is used, as since Torkoal is usually leading, it can get these up easily (would rather say "early in the game" or something similar). Rapid Spin is also used for that same reason (its not clear at all what said reaosn is), as the many Fire types Torkoal supports (Sun usually has only 1 Fire-type other than Torkoal, sometimes also a Tera-Fire Pokemon. Maybe Fire-types is an overstatement. Instead mention how keeping hazards off the field allows it and its teammates, particularly the Fire-types, to stay healthy throughout the game) greatly appreciate Stealth Rocks being removed from play. Finally, Yawn is used to round out the moveset, to provide ins for it’s strong teammates, whether it be through a sleeping enemy or forcing a switch. Remember to explain with it uses Will-O-Wisp and Body Press. Tera water can be used defensively to gain a great defensive typing, flipping matchups against Pokemon like Great Tusk, Azumarill, and Dondozo. (This is important to prevent Torkoalfrom getting KO and thus getting more chances to sun later on, while also potentially ruining them with a Will-O-Wisp. Do remove Dondozo, that mention doesn't make much sense)

The best teammates to use with Torkoal in any situation are Pokemon who greatly benefit from the sun it is so great at setting up. Some of these Pokemon include Walking Wake, which greatly appreciates the immense power boost to both its stats and STAB move Hydro Steam, and is also great at countering (Careful here. From the Smogon definition a counter has to be able to switch in against said threats to be a counter, which it cant do against Tyranitar. Instead mention how it checks them or rather threatens them) weather setters like Tyranitar and Pelliper. Other strong Protosynthesis Pokemon can use the power or speed boosts the sun provides, like Great Tusk using the Attack Boost to wall break (You can also mention how it uses a Defensive Boost to be more sturdy against physical attackers such as Kingambit, Dragonite, and opposing Roaring Moon), or Roaring Moon using it to sweep with Dragon Dance (Roaring Moon in sun usually also uses Choice Band with Proto Speed or Atk to serve as another wallbreaker). Also, Fire Pokemon like Scovillain, Ceruledge, and Volcarona Iron Moth enjoy having their STAB fire moves boosted even further (You can mention how Scovillain in particular is useful in sun thanks to Chlorophyll). Another great teammate is Hatterene, as it can deflect Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce, allowing Torkoal and it's Stealth Rock weak team to take a lot less chip damage, while also being good on the fast-paced offense style that Sun teams usually use.
