Defensive (Great Tusk) @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Water / Steel
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock / Knock Off

Great Tusk presents itself as a premier defensive backbone with its solid defensive typing, access to Rapid Spin, and immense strength even without investment. Headlong Rush is used over Earthquake because its greater power lets Great Tusk OHKO Raging Bolt after Stealth Rock and OHKO both uninvested Gholdengo and bulky Cinderace while not being weakened by Rillaboom's Grassy Terrain. Ice Spinner lets it get past Flying-types like Dragonite, Gliscor, and Landorus-T while both threatening Rillaboom and removing its Grassy Terrain. Rapid Spin allows it to remove entry hazards for its teammates, and the Speed boost lets it scare out usually faster threats like Darkrai and Iron Crown. Stealth Rock is used for role compression, letting Great Tusk both set hazards as well as remove them from its own side. Knock Off, meanwhile, gets rid of items such as Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers on foes like Moltres and Clefable. It additionally threatens Ghost-types like Pecharunt, Air Balloon Gholdengo, and Dragapult, letting Great Tusk spin more consistently. Rocky Helmet is the preferred item, as it wears down physical attackers like Kingambit, Zamazenta, and opposing Great Tusk while punishing U-turn from Cinderace and Corviknight. It also has the added benefit of breaking Dragonite's Multiscale upon contact, letting Great Tusk have an instant OHKO on Dragonite with Ice Spinner. Leftovers provides longevity and makes Great Tusk more able to take on Salt Cure Garganacl and Swords Dance Gliscor. Heavy-Duty Boots protects Great Tusk from repeated hazard damage from Spikes, status inflicted by Toxic Spikes, and the Speed drop from Sticky Webs. Tera Water is used to combat Hisuian Samurott and Cinderace, while Tera Steel lets Great Tusk resist Rillaboom's Grassy Glide and better take on Deoxys-S, Tornadus-T, and Clefable. Both Tera Water and Tera Steel help combat Ice-type attacks like Weavile's Triple Axel and Darkrai's Ice Beam. Other Tera types can be considered; Tera Ice strengthens Ice Spinner to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor, while Tera Fire gives a burn immunity for Cinderace and Moltres. Tera Ghost makes Great Tusk itself a spinblocker against opposing Great Tusk and Iron Treads while letting it more easily handle Zamazenta. Maximum HP and Speed investment are used to outspeed targets like Hisuian Samurott, Glimmora, and Gholdengo while making it be able to tank attacks from physical attackers from Kingambit easier.

Great Tusk fits well on balance and bulky offense teams, which highly appreciate its defensive properties and utility while still remaining offensively potent. Offensive Pokemon weak to Spikes such as Ogerpon-W and Heatran enjoy Great Tusk's ability to remove entry hazards, letting them not be worn down in longer games. Ogerpon-W threatens Alomomola, Ting-Lu, Moltres, and Dondozo, while it appreciates Great Tusk switching into Kingambit. Heatran checks Rillaboom, Corviknight, and Gholdengo and uses Stealth Rock itself, letting Great Tusk run Knock Off. Additionally, both Ogerpon-W and Heatran appreciate Great Tusk checking Dragonite and switching in on non-IronPress Zamazenta. Ghost-types like Pecharunt, Air Balloon Gholdengo, and Dragapult make Great Tusk's job of removing hazards much harder, as they are able to threaten it out. Thus, strong teammates that can take out Ghost-types such as Choice Scarf Gholdengo, Hisuian Samurott, and Kingambit can be used to threaten them out, allowing Great Tusk to spin. Hisuian Samurott is a especially strong teammate, as it is able to both set Spikes and threaten Moltres and Gholdengo. Alomomola is a solid partner for Great Tusk, as Wish is able to keep Great Tusk healthy to check Gliscor and Garganacl longer. Assault Vest Alomomola and Galarian Slowking can take on Fairy-types like Enamorus, Primarina, and Iron Valiant. Hatterene and Cinderace are also nice to have as additional hazard removal, making teams nearly impervious to the hazards being set on their side of the field. Assault Vest Hatterene checks Kyurem, Deoxys-S, and can additionally help against Raging Bolt, which can greatly damage Great Tusk with its Dragon-type attacks, while Rocky Helmet Hatterene in combination with Rocky Helmet on Great Tusk can very easily wear down U-turn users like Landorus-T and Cinderace. In return, Great Tusk checks variants of Gholdengo, Heatran, and Kingambit. Cinderace, meanwhile, is able to pivot Great Tusk in with U-turn and threaten Rillaboom and Corviknight, while Great Tusk can take on Glimmora and Gliscor. The combination of Cinderace or Hatterene and Great Tusk can enable hazard-weak threats such as Assault Vest Tornadus-T and Kyurem and frees Dragonite from using Heavy-Duty Boots for Dragon Dance sets. Grass-types like Rillaboom and Dragon-types like Dragapult, Raging Bolt and the aformentioned Dragonite assist in taking on Ogerpon-W, with the first three also being able to deal with Dondozo. In return, Great Tusk can combat Steel-types like Kingambit and Scizor. Torkoal or Ninetales on sun teams are teammates that allow Great Tusk to get a Speed boost from Protosynthesis, which lets it outspeed threats like Dragapult and Darkrai without needing to use Rapid Spin. Torkoal can run Stealth Rock, which lets Great Tusk run Knock Off and lessens the burden on Torkoal to use Rapid Spin. Ninetales, on the other hand, is able to run Healing Wish, letting Great Tusk have a second chance to stay healthy against physical attackers. Common teammates on sun like Walking Wake and Raging Bolt can additionally aid against physical walls like Dondozo, Moltres, and Alomomola, while Great Tusk can remove hazards for them and threaten out special tanks like Galarian Slowking.

Great Tusk @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Water / Steel
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Knock Off / Stealth Rock

Great Tusk presents itself as a premier defensive backbone with its solid defensive typing, access to Rapid Spin, and immense strength even without investment. Headlong Rush is used over Earthquake as a way to threaten Raging Bolt, Cinderace, and Offensive Gholdengo harder ("threaten harder" is vague and not as helpful as more specific things like always OHKOing offensive Dengo, always OHKOing Bolt after rocks, etc.), while not being weakened by Rillaboom's Grassy Terrain. Ice Spinner lets it get past Flying-types like Dragonite, Tornadus-T, Gliscor, and Landorus-T (Good examples, but would probably have 2-3 flying types and also mention grass types such as Rillaboom). Rapid Spin allows it to remove hazards for its teammates, while gaining a speed boost to outspeed (point is good, but mentioning speed twice in 4 words is a bit awkward) threats like Darkrai and Iron Crown. Knock Off is used to get rid of items such as Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers on opponents like Zapdos and Moltres (Zap and Molt are great Knock targets, but neither is ever running Leftovers, so would like to see an example of something with leftovers that knock is targeting). (Knock is also a great move to threaten spinblocking Ghosts, such as Balloon Dengo, Pult, and Pecharunt, helping Tusk remove hazards more consistently long-term.) Stealth Rock can also be used as a way for role compression, as it can allowing Great Tusk to set hazards as well as remove hazards from its own side. Rocky Helmet is preferred, as it wears down physical attackers like Kingambit, Zamazenta, and opposing Great Tusk. It also has the added benefit of breaking Dragonite's Multiscale upon contact, letting Great Tusk have a instant OHKO on Dragonite with Ice Spinner. (One of the biggest strengths of Rocky Helmet is to punish U-turn spam, I would definitely mention that here.) Leftovers provides longevity and lets Great Tusk be able to stay healthy against threats (This says the same thing twice. I would instead emphasize that it permits Tusk to check certain threats such as Garganacl and SD Gliscor much better with Leftovers.). Heavy-Duty Boots can also be used to protect it from repeated hazard damage from Spikes and Toxic Spikes. (Boots helping Tusk remove Webs is a huge benefit worth mentioning as well.) Tera Water is used to combat Hisuian Samurott and Cinderace, while Tera Steel makes gives Great Tusk resist Rillaboom while also taking on Deoxys-S better. Both Tera Water and Tera Steel also helps combat Ice-type attacks like Weavile's Triple Axel, and Darkrai's Ice Beam. (Could be worth mentioning some other plausible teras such as Ice, Fire, Ghost, or even Fairy as possibilities.) Max HP and Max Speed are neccesary (a slightly weird word to use here with offensive tusk existing. I would reword.) to outspeed targets like Hisuian Samurott, Glimmora, and Gholdengo, while being able to tank attacks from physical attackers easier.

Great Tusk fits well on Balance and Bulky Offense, which highly appreciate its defensive properties and utility while still remaining exceptionally potent (feels like a slight exaggeration, could reword to be a bit weaker, but probably nitpicking) with its strength. Partners such as Ogerpon-W and Heatran enjoy Great Tusk's ability to remove hazards, letting them not be worn down in longer games. Ogerpon-W threatens Alomomola, Ting-lu, and Moltres, while it appreciates Great Tusk switching in on Raging Bolt (Tusk, even 252 HP Tusk, does not want to take hits from Bolt. I think a better example, such as Kingambit, is needed.). Heatran can also be used to check Rillaboom, Corviknight, and Gholdengo, as well as use Stealth Rock itself, letting Great Tusk be able to run Knock Off over Stealth Rock. Ghost-types like Pecharunt, Air Balloon Gholdengo, and Dragapult make Great Tusk's job of removing hazards much harder, as they are able to threaten it out with Malignant Chain, Make It Rain, or Will-o-Wisp respectively. Thus, strong anti-ghost pokemon such as Choice Scarf Gholdengo, Hisuian Samurott, or Kingambit can be used to threaten them out, allowing Great Tusk to Rapid Spin more effectively. Hisuian Samurott is a especially strong teammate, as it is able to both set Spikes, but can and also threaten Moltres and Gholdengo. Pivots such as Dragapult, Galarian Slowking, and Tornadus-T are used to bring Great Tusk in safely (Is this actually all that important for defensive Tusk? I thought that part of the point of the bulk investment was that it could come in on its own. It still appreciates pivoting, but it feels a bit weird to emphasize this.), while they all are able to check IronPress Zamazenta and Ogerpon-W (Glowking can sort of check Waterpon, but not in relation to Tusk, it doesn't want to switch in on Ivy Cudgel), with Great Tusk in return being able to check Dark-types like Kingambit and Hisuian Samurott, and threaten Garganacl for meaningful damage. Hatterene and CIinderace are also nice to have as additional hazard removal, making teams nearly impervious to the hazards being set on their side of the field. Assault Vest Hatterene checks Kyurem, Enamorus, and can additionally help against Raging Bolt, while Rocky Helmet Hatterene in combination with Rocky Helmet on Great Tusk can very easily wear down U-turn users like Landorus-T and Cinderace. Great Tusk in return checks variants of Gholdengo, Heatran, and Kingambit. Cinderace, meanwhile, is able to pivot Great Tusk in with U-turn, (RC) and either spread Will-o-wisp on targets like Kingambit for Great Tusk to take on easier, while already threatening and threaten Gholdengo and Corviknight, and potentially even Fairy-types like Primarina and Clefable as well Grass-types like RIllaboom and Ogerpon-W with Gunk Shot. , while Great Tusk can in return take on Glimmora and Gliscor. (Two additional potential teammates to mention: 1) Alomomola to top off Tusk, letting it check physical threats longer 2) Hazard weak breakers/mons like Kyurem, AV Torn, Non-Boots Dnite, Ceruledge that appreciate a more sturdy removal option especially when paired with Cind/Hatt.)

All great though I made a few comments after the second paragraph that I would like to revisit if possible. Let me know once it is implemented and I can give it a quick look

Would be good to add a Fairy Pokemon somewhere here, since that's another notable weakness it flips Both Tera Water and Tera Steel also helps combat Ice-type attacks like Weavile's Triple Axel, and Darkrai's Ice Beam. Other tera types like Tera Ice helps strengthen Ice Spinner to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor, while Tera Fire gives a burn immunity against Cinderace and Moltres. Probably a bit too out there, you already have 2 main Teras and 3 secondary ones, I would remove this but Idm if you keep it Max HP and Max Speed are used to outspeed targets like Hisuian Samurott, Glimmora, and Gholdengo, while being able to tank attacks from physical attackers from Kingambit easier.

Great Tusk fits well on Balance and Bulky Offense, which highly appreciate its defensive properties and utility while still remaining potent with its strength. This is fine but you are putting removing hazards as the main idea here. You could either move that below or add stuff that Great Tusk does for these Pokemon, such as checking Dragonite Ghost-types like Pecharunt, Air Balloon Gholdengo, and Dragapult make Great Tusk's job of removing hazards much harder, as they are able to threaten it out. Thus, strong anti-ghost Not sure if I like this wording but its fine pokemon such as Choice Scarf Gholdengo, Hisuian Samurott, or Kingambit can be used to threaten them out, allowing Great Tusk to Rapid Spin more effectively. Hisuian Samurott is a especially strong teammate, as it is able to both set Spikes and threaten Moltres and Gholdengo. Hatterene and Cinderace are also nice to have as additional hazard removal, making teams nearly impervious to the hazards being set on their side of the field. Assault Vest Hatterene checks Kyurem, Enamorus, Really borderline mention, perhaps something like Deoxys-S would be better and can additionally help against Raging Bolt, Make sure its clear this is so Great Tusk is not overwhelmed while Rocky Helmet Hatterene in combination with Rocky Helmet on Great Tusk can very easily wear down U-turn users like Landorus-T and Cinderace. Great Tusk in return checks variants of Gholdengo, Heatran, and Kingambit. Cinderace, meanwhile, is able to pivot Great Tusk in with U-turn and threaten Gholdengo You mentioned that Great Tusk checks certain variants of Gholdengo right before, so this might not be the best fit, perhaps add Rillaboom instead(?) and Corviknight, while Great Tusk can in return take on Glimmora and Gliscor. With either Cinderace or Hatterene as well, Great Tusk can additionally enable hazard weak threats such as Assault Vest Tornadus-T, Choice Specs Different variants can be used, you could just remove Choice Specs or mention other variants Kyurem, and frees Dragonite of using Heavy-Duty Boots for Dragon Dance sets.

- Would be good to add Pokemon that can take on Fairy-types like Enamorus, Iron Valiant, Clefable, Primarina. Galarian-Slowking could be a fine mention, or even Assault Vest Alomomola if you are willing to rework that part of the text
- Similarly, partners that can take on Ogerpon-W or Dondozo. You have Pokemon that deal with Dondozo already, so just a matter of including it in a few places. For Ogerpon-W I would probably make emphasis on Dragonite, Dragapult, or even Raging Bolt. Dragapult in particular is already listed above, and also appreciates Great Tusk taking on Kingambit.
- A small mention of Sun teammates or at least that it fits in Sun would be good
