Dhelmise can check Pokemon like Passimian, Virizion, Barraskewda, and Heliolisk by virtue of its typing and remove entry hazards or punch holes in the enemy team with its great Attack stat and high power STAB moves; however, Dhelmise is vulnerable to being worn down and its below average speed leaves it easy prey for faster threats. Synthesis is valuable for Dhelmise to stay healthy long-term. Anchor Shot can be used to deal massive damage to would-be checks like Drapion, itemless Xatu, and Braviary, but is difficult to fit into its moveset. No item allows Dhelmise to check Poltergeist users like Golurk and Decidueye, while Colbur Berry allows it to more comfortably answer Passimian, Golisopod, and Barraskewda. Heavy-Duty Boots are also viable to extend Dhelmise's longevity and help it more easily come in to clear away entry hazards. 84 Speed EVs allow Dhelmise to outspeed uninvested Vileplume and potentially break past it with some prior damage.

Klefki, Golisopod, and Coalossal can provide Spikes support for Dhelmise's team, and appreciate Dhelmise's ability to remove entry hazards for its team without removing them from the opponent's side as well. Special attackers like Sigilyph and Salazzle are appreciated to help Dhelmise break through physical walls like Tangela and Vileplume. Gigalith and Coalossal partner well with Dhelmise, checking threats like Sigilyph, Charizard, and Ninetales, and appreciate Dhelmise's ability to answer Pokemon like Virizion, Passimian, and Seismitoad. Dark-types like Drapion and Umbreon that threaten Dhelmise can be checked by the likes of Bewear and Passimian. Certain Steel-types like Copperajah, Klefki, and Bronzong can answer powerful special attackers like Dragalge and Goodra that can easily threaten Dhelmise.

Dhelmise can check Pokemon like Rhyperior, Passimian, Virizion, Barraskewda, and Heliolisk by virtue of its typing and remove entry hazards or punch holes in the enemy team with its great Attack stat and high power STAB moves. [briefly mention in intro how it's a little held back by being slow and easily worn down].

Coalossal makes for a great partner for Dhelmise, checking threats like Sigilyph, Charizard, and Ninetales [add Gigalith to this section, maybe Rhyperior]. Coalossal also appreciates Dhelmise's ability to answer Pokemon like Virizion, Passimian, and Seismitoad. Rhyperior and Steelix can check Drapion and Braviary for Dhelmise [don't mention braviary in this section; make checks to Dark-types its own sentence (Umbreon is also annoying, as well as just misc stuff like Passimian coming in to Knock you)]. Certain Steel-types like Copperajah, Klefki, and Bronzong can answer powerful special attackers like Gardevoir, Goodra, and Indeedee [replace with Dragalge, which can switch in (with a correct prediction) and threaten it] that can easily revenge kill threaten Dhelmise. Klefki, Golisopod, and Coalossal can also provide Spikes support for Dhelmise's team, and appreciate Dhelmise's ability to remove entry hazards for its team without removing them from the opponent's side as well.

mention special attackers that can help break walls like Tangela
