DaRude Sandstorm Rages! (Rather, Opponents Do)
Hello everybooty, its RealNassT and Im coming at you with a god squad.
>inb4 stall takes no skill
>inb4 Hippo is unviable
Wait a minute before you pass such judgments of the team, hear me out. Cause provided you do, then Arceus will smile upon you.
Teambuilding Process

Mega Sableye (wont load): Msab is my choice of mega for the team, seeing as its a solid foundation for stall to build upon. With utility in prankster, magic bounce, status, and hazard control; this is a must have for most stall teams.

I chose Celesteela to go along with Msab, as I wanted to explore different mons on stall. Skarm is normally seen here, but I went with Celes to try something new, while maintaining that ground immunity and physical wall for the team. It also helps sab out with Lele.

Toxapex was a necessity at this point in the building process. CelePex is the best defensive core IMO. Toxapex is S rank for a reason; it can deal with so much and do so much for a team.

Clefable was chosen because of aforementioned CelePex blending so well with it. Its also the only viable unaware user.

Chansey was picked for very obvious reasons. Its a staple on 90% of stall teams and annoys every special attacker ever made with status, stoss, and healing.

Hippo was actually one of the first mons I thought of when building this stall. I wanted to use Hippo to, again, innovate within the playstyle and have fun with new ideas. It also provides me phazing, which is nice with rocks and tspikes.
The Team
MF DOOM (Sableye) @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Protect
Mega Sableye has been annoying most of smogon ever since its release in ORAS. It has access to prankster before mega, knock off, recover, wisp, and magic bounce upon mega evolution. Huge buffs to defenses as well. This pokemon can single handedly wall Ferrothorn, which is something to be noted. Sableye can also (generally) stall out magmatrapper tran.
MF DOOM (Sableye) @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Protect
Msab provides itself as a glue to virtually any stall out there. The ability to bounce back hazards, status, and so much more. It also pairs nicely as a fighting immunity, and less notably, a psychic immunity. This can prove helpful against Lele locked in to psychic.
Prior to mega evolution, you have prankster. You can abuse this to catch Kyu-B, Kartana, etc off guard. Really helps in a pinch.

Twin Towers (Celesteela) @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 156 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower
The only real problem with Celesteela is that it can not get up spikes or use defog. Conversely, it has access to a powerful STAB heavy slam, flamethrower to hit mag/zone/ferro/sciz, and beast boost as an ability. Beast Boost may not be very useful in most situations, honestly, but it has a niche in giving you the defense boost to force certain mons out, or certain mons to switch in.
Seeing as Celesteela can force so many switches due to its defensive prowess, it can rack up leech seeds and lefties recovery to full health without batting an eye (mainly cause it has no eyes)
Lastly, it forms a RealNassT core we all know and love (and some hate)

Unctuous Urchin (Toxapex) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover
- Toxic Spikes
How about the indisputable opinion that Celesteela in conjunction with this mon walls nearly all of the metagame? CelePex is bread and butter, chocolate and cheese, whatever other analogy you can think of. They both support each other very well. When Lele comes out to play, switch in Celesteela. If Zard Y comes in, switch to Pex. They really bounce off each other's ups and downs in such a beautiful equilibrium.
The best thing about Pex is how efficiently it can stall out many mons and setup tspikes on them. Scald is the best friend of Pex, it nets a 30% chance to burn in a very spammable form of STAB. If an opposing defogger gets burned, and lefties are knocked, Pex will generally recover stall until it can get tspikes up. The exception to this rule would be Zapdos, though it doesnt appreciate switching in on scalds.
Lastly, it has regen and access to black sludge. Black Sludge is noted in case of trick users, or hoopa somehow steals your item, etc.

Bubblegum (Clefable) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
It has remarkable typing in mono fairy, granting it only 2 weaknesses, key resistances in dark, fighting, bug, and lastly an immunity to dragon.
It offers role compression as arguably the best cleric, in wish/protect/heal bell/moonblast. This helps Clef as well as support her team.
Fairy STAB is pretty spammable, and it also gets drops. But keep in mind that opposing drops arent factored in against Clef. Key pokemon Clef can deal with are literally any physical setup sweeper not named Kartana. You deal with Mega Sableye, Kyurem-Black (depending on set). Two banes to stall that Clef handles. Clef is really just a safety net against most physical setup.
Paired with CelePex, this becomes a very annoying defensive core.

Obesity (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
252+ Atk Landorus-Therian Supersonic Skystrike (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 450-531 (64 - 75.5%)
The main application of Chansey is to soak up special attacks, spread status, and generally stall the opponent to death with toxic. It also has natural cure, which is great, as you can mitigate opposing status by simply switching out. Seismic Toss is a nice and consistent 100HP dealing move. An opponent can fall quickly to Toxic + Stoss, breaking subs under 101HP, and doing more damage every turn. Pair this with softboiled and you have yourself one rotten egg.
This mon also works well in general with Celesteela, forming a pseudo SkarmBliss core. (note that twave is ran because Hippo has rocks and its an emergency stop to certain sweepers.)

Harambe (Hippowdon) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Whirlwind
This is a very fun and surprisingly useful mon. With the sudden rise in Zard X usage, Hippo provides the team a very bulky ground type with access to rocks, whirlwind, and reliable recovery in slack off. It doesnt end there. It has the amazing ability in sand stream, providing chip damage against most opponents, negating leftovers recovery, mitigating rain/sun/hail by completely removing it, and allowing you to stall with Celesteela more effectively.
It has such a whopping HP stat of 420, respectable attack even uninvested, and a really solid defense stat. It takes most unboosted physical attacks, and for the boosted opponents Hippo phazes them out.
Rain and Zard Y are notorious for stopping stall, or otherwise having favorable matchup against it heavily. With the wonderful ability in sand stream, you are provided with an answer to the aforementioned. Switching Hippo in carefully can really disrupt someone's game plan. And lastly, it gets up rocks so Chansey can forgo rocks and run twave.
Problem?
Here I will outline some issues the team struggles with.>CM Magearna
Self explanatory. Immune to toxic, has lefties recovery, phenomenal typing, skyhigh stats, busted ability. (plz ban this mon)
>Kartana
A very annoying mon to face. It blows Clef away, and with SD it beats everything else. My only hope in stopping this nuisance is with prankster wisp, hax, or luck. Pex can only do so much, its 2HKO'd at +2
>Kyurem-B (to an extent)
Kyu-B can be a big bully to this team. Clef can normally say not so fast, but if it clicks subzero slammer I become exasperated.
>Mega Mawile
Very obvious and self explanatory. Mega Maw to stall is like a fire hose to toilet paper. My only hope is prankster wisping, but this sacks sableye unless I get the skillful dodge.
>Mega Diancie
Arguably the most annoying to face. Bounces back everything, counters sableye, and hits Chansey on the switch with dstorm. I really dont enjoy playing Diancie.
>Toxapex
Irony at its finest. But this mon annoys the team because my team cant do much to it. Most I can do is click knock off, then EQ with Hippo hoping I dont get burnt. Otherwise I stall it out of PP.
Conclusion
All in all I had lots of fun with this team. I still do. As a matter of fact, its my personal favorite. I make all of my teams alone, something I pride myself in. Albeit this is my first RMT, tell me what you think about it. I'd appreciate the feedback.
NOTE: Please dont tell me how to rectify the team. Im satisfied with it as is.
