Welcome to Do Not Use: The Pet Mod: The Musical! Unfortunately, there is no music in this. I just thought it would be funny.

DNU:TPM:TM is a Pet Mod based off of my Solomod Do Not Use which is famous for being a metagame comprised of the weakest Pokemon created. Do Not Use features mostly Pokemon under a 280 BST, with a handful exceptions for other Pokemon that fit the power level, including one of our mascots in Luvdisc.

Much like other Pet Mods, this mod features Fakemon submissions. Both true Fakemon and adjusted Realmons are allowed, some prompts may restrict this. Submissions are to be made to fit the Do Not Use power level. They do not have to follow the DNU base stat limit, as long as they are balanced. Due to the abundance of NFEs in the main tier, all submissions will need to specify whether or not the Pokemon is compatible with Eviolite. Custom moves and abilities are allowed, but they must be within reason. Keep them relatively simple, to where a fairly new PS coder (hi) would be able to do them. An ability or move deemed to be too complex may be cause for veto.

For each slate, each person can submit up to 3 Pokemon. After a few days of submissions (will give 24h warning), there will be a vote to see which subs make it into the metagame. Each person can vote for up to three other submissions (one self-vote), with the top three vote-getters being added. Slates will alternate between being "free slates" (no theme) and slates with a specific theme.

In addition, we will hold playtesting room tours after every few slates to keep up with how the metagame is developing with the new additions. There may be small breaks to discuss the metagame as well. If a Pokemon is banned from DNU, it will not be banned here automatically, but may be discussed for action separately; if a Pokemon is added into DNU, it will be given a one-week trial period here, after which the council will vote on if it will stay.

Slate 1: Free Slate
Excited to get into DNU:TPM:TM! Please familiarize yourself with the rules above. For those unfamiliar with the metagame, please look through the original DNU thread (linked above). There's a VR in the third post of the thread. It's a little outdated but it should give you a good idea of what power levels to aim for.

As a free slate, you are allowed to submit what you want, as long as they fit the metagame. This includes Fakemon, nerfing a Pokemon down into the tier, or adjusting a Pokemon already in the tier! Submissions will be open for one week. Have fun!

Typing: Grass/Dark
Base Stats: 40 / 50 (+10) / 65 (+15) / 30 / 40 (+10) / 30 (BST: 255)
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Early Bird / Pickpocket
Movepool:
:plusle: Pursuit, Wood Hammer
:minun: Sucker Punch

Weight: unchanged
Custom Elements: n/a
Competitive Role: Adding the Dark typing plus additional bulk gives Seedot a very valuable niche as a Bramblin counter while also being an overall solid wall. Pursuit can be used to trap Bramblin and Litwick while Wood Hammer allows Swords Dance sets to serve as powerful wallbreakers. However, the Dark typing is a double-edged sword, giving Seedot a 4x weakness to Bug moves, such as Surskit's Bug Buzz or any of the U-turns in the tier. Sucker Punch is removed to prevent SD-Sucker shenanigans that the tier already has too much off, while allowing offensive variants to be much easier to revenge kill.

Competitive Role: All tiers need good defensive Grounds, and this serves as an alternative to the Woopers in that role. Serves as a strong defensive option with an awkward defensive typing for the tier. Not super passive thanks to a usable Attack, great STAB moves, and access to Body Press. Also threatens to spread status with Lava Plume/Will-o-wisp. Can serve as a Curse sweeper. Struggles into the tier's Water- and Ground-types, or anything that can hit it with a strong neutral hit. Bulk is comparable to Cleffa's, not quite as specially bulky.

Weight: 29.8kg (unchanged)
Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Physical/Mixed Attacker, Fast Pivot
Flavor / Description:
Blitzle in this current state should reduce some of the pressure the formerly banned Pokemon "Wattrel" has in the tier as well as being a threatening Pokemon with it's coverage and pivoting ability. Whilst it does lose out on it's strongest STAB and coverage option of Trailblaze (which allows for Wooper to check it with relative ease), it's additional coverage of Fighting & Ground can allow it to potentially break through Nacli or Litwick that could boast a problem in some areas).

If Blitzle is considered too broken in this current state, the ideal solution would be to decrease it's speed to be 64 (slower than Pikipek, Surskit e.g.). This might be an explosive nerf to it, but the ideal move benefits to make it suit a charging horse and a relatively solid physical attacking electric-type, something the tier doesn't have (sorry Corupted, Shinx isn't viable just yet..)

Competitive Role: Helio is supposed to be a pokemon that can fit on any weather team except snow bc there are only 3 ability slots I've only given it minor nerfs as I don't think it is too far from being balanced in dnu. sptk nerf was done to put it in line with the likes of hattena & impidimp & the speed nerf was to make it slower than the base 60s of the format & finally the removal of surf was to make it less effective as a rain threat which is already a good team style. for buffs I've given it a useable normal STAB in hyper voice & a better sand abusing ability in Sand Rush.

Ability: Shed Skin | Static (H)
New Moves: Spikes, Bug Buzz, Thunderbolt, Signal Beam, Thunder Shock, Rest, Psywave, Infestation, Confuse Ray, Pollen Puff, Sleep Powder, Draining Kiss, Sunny Day, Sleep Talk

Weight: Unchanged
Custom: None
Role: Utility/Wall
Flavor: The goal of Spewpa here isn't to create a lot of immediate progress, but rather to serve as a tool that creates loads of passive progress in the form of spikes and paralysis. Spewpa also has an interesting trade off to make in its ability, it can choose to forgo Sleep Talk for an extra move slot, at the cost of losing the static paralysis chance. It also gains many other utility moves that stop the opponent from making progress, such as Infestation and Sleep Powder.

Flavor / Description: Very flexible pokemon that can support or attack, Supercell Slam helps its Guts sets stay around longer since it isn't taking the big recoil from Wild Charge, Electric Surge lets it be supportive in a different way than intimidate sets, helping setup a different submission I've got. Increased bulk across the board lets it stay alive just a little bit longer and support its team more

If somebody feels like making a custom sprite for it, I think it'd be really cute to give it little floaties made of electricity instead of the surfboard that Alolan Raichu has.

Abilities: Blaze / Acceleration
Movepool: -Flame Charge, -Agility
Custom Elements: Acceleration - This Pokémon's Speed can't be lowered by the foe.
Competitive Role: One time in the Pet Mods Discord, a bunch of people were jokingly telling cyclonez_ to unban random stuff, with me suggesting that she should unban Torchic but with Speed Boost banned, an idea that brought up some unironic discussion. So, now DNU Torchic can be real and we don't even have to ban Speed Boost. Torchic sports a very high 70 Attack stat with a super strong STAB Flare Blitz, Swords Dance to boost itself even further, and coverage in Low Kick and Rock Slide for Rock and Fire-types respectively. It does suffer from low Speed it can't boost and meh bulk, however, plus a Rocks-weak typing.

Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Adds weather in hopefully the least intrusive way possible, turning Snom into a strong Special breaker that can spam Blizzard to its heart's content, backed up by decent coverage in Giga Drain, your choice of Hidden Power, and STAB Bug Buzz. While its awful defensive typing cuts into it a bit and forces Snom into Boots, either Snow or Ice Scales can be used to make Snom a lot sturdier than it looks, giving it more opportunities to click Blizzard.

Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Intimidate / Sheer Force
Mega Ability: Sweet Veil
Movepool: +Fire Punch, -Swords Dance, -Sucker Punch
Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Base form probably sucks (though probably wouldn't be too bad if it was Eviolite compatible) but you can try to use it as an Intimidate pivot or Sheer Force breaker. Mega Mawile serves a pretty good wallbreaker that acts as the best Knock absorber you could ever ask for while also switching into common Toxics and the less common Sleep moves thanks to its Steel-typing and Sweet Veil respectively (the latter coming from how Mawile learns Sweet Scent naturally for some reason). Both forms do suffer from horrid Special bulk, though

Weight: 880.6 lbs (399.43 kg)
Custom Elements: Use Gen 1 Magnemite sprites if possible.

Competitive Role: Extremely strong and physically durable late-game cleaner that is able to also trap the rare Steels in the tier, held back by an awkward movepool and extreme weakness to even resisted Special moves.

Flavor / Description:

This sub is quite close in concept to Yungoos, which is already a strong option in the tier. In a metagame this small each Pokemon should feel pretty unique from one another and this doesn't hit that balance for me. Do some retooling to make them more distinct. Also Marill and Jigglypuff aren't great counters as this gets access to Strong Jaw Poison Fang.

Base Stats:
50/55/55/40/40/40
Abilities: Rough Skin / Pickup | Unnerve
Movepool: Same as natdex

Weight: same
Custom Elements: n/a
Competitive Role: Defensive rocker that punishes mons like hattena and bramblin, while being weak to mons like swinub. Also adds a much needed steel

Pokemon: Barboach
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Y
Typing: Water / Ground
Base Stats:
50/48/43/46/41/52
Abilities: Oblivious / Rattled | Justified (HA)
Movepool: Same as natdex + ice spinner, spikes, flip turn, Swords Dance

Weight: same
Custom Elements: n/a
Competitive Role: bulky ish water ground with cleaning capabilities, with two abilities that punish knock. Lack of recovery keeps it from being beoke

:pancham:
Pokemon: Pancham
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Y
Typing: Dark / Fighting
Base Stats:
67/62/52/36/38/43
Abilities: Iron Fist / Mold Breaker | Scrappy
Movepool: Same as natdex + stealth rock - Gunk shot

Weight: same
Custom Elements: n/a
Competitive Role: Bulky Wallbreaker. Provides two types that are severely lacking and is a good way to deal with the eviolite bulk of the tier. Rocks were added because I don’t like hattena
Pancham: Too strong of a wallbreaker right now that forces so much progress. Remove two of Sucker Punch, Knock Off, or Close Combat, to make it easier to switch in on long-term, or nerf the attack stat down.

Pokemon: Spewpa
Type: Bug/Electric
Evio: Yes
Base Stats: 45/22/60/27/30/29 (213) -> 45/22/60/37/55/29 (248)

Counters: :Nacli: :Shedinja: :Happiny::Roggenrola:
Checks: :Rockruff:
Targets: :Luvdisc: :Gossifleur: :Arrokuda:
This has too much utility for the bulk you've provided it. Either remove one of Spikes or Sleep Powder, or reduce the bulk.
:sv/gulpin:
Pokemon: Gulpin
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Yes
Typing: Poison/Dark
Base Stats
: 55/43/48/43/48/40 (BST: 277) (-15/+0/-5/+0/-5/+0)
Abilities: Liquid Ooze / Sticky Hold // Gluttony
Movepool: (+) Dark Pulse, Foul Play, Throat Chop

Competitive Role: Knock Off absorber and defensive mon. Beating up Bramblin is actually a second thought, it was originally just a knock absorber.
Gulpin has nearly perfect coverage for the tier and can just run Eviolite 4A to a ton of success. Remove some coverage to make it possible to beat defensively.

:sv/shinx:
Pokemon: Shinx
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Y
Typing: Electric
Base Stats: 50 (+5)/65/34 (+1)/40/34 (+1)/45 (BST: 270)
Abilities: Electric Surge/Intimidate/Guts (HA)
Movepool:
:plusle: Supercell Slam

Weight: Unchanged
Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Whatever you want except for special wall, first Electric Terrain setter

:sv/pichu:
Pokemon: Pichu
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Y

Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Electric absorber, physical attacker
Flavor / Description: These changes are mostly for parity with the 3rd submission

:sv/pichu: Alolan
Pokemon: Alolan-Pichu
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Y
Typing: Electric/Psychic
Base Stats:
45/35/15/55/45/60 (BST: 255)
Abilities: Surge Surfer
Movepool: Same as Alolan Raichu
:plusle: Rising Voltage

Weight: Unchanged
Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Electric Terrain Abuser
Flavor / Description: Fast special attacker that is able to abuse the electric terrain that Shinx sets up (if that gets accepted), has strong Electric and Psychic attacks with Fairy, Water, and Grass coverage and some mediocre recovery in Draining Kiss although that doesn't matter too much with the 10 physdef. If somebody feels like making a custom sprite for it, I think it'd be really cute to give it little floaties made of electricity instead of the surfboard that Alolan Raichu has.
Pichu-Alola: Same deal as Helioptile above. Remove Volt Switch.

:sm/torchic:
Pokemon: Torchic
Eviolite-Compatible: Y
Typing:
Fire.png

Base Stats: 45 / 60 / 40 / 70 / 50 / 45
Abilities: Blaze / Acceleration
Movepool: -Flame Charge
Custom Elements: Acceleration - This Pokémon's Speed can't be lowered by the foe.
Competitive Role: One time in the Pet Mods Discord, a bunch of people were jokingly telling cyclonez_ to unban random stuff, with me suggesting that she should unban Torchic but with Speed Boost banned, an idea that brought up some unironic discussion. So, now DNU Torchic can be real and we don't even have to ban Speed Boost. Torchic is one of the strongest Special Attackers in the entire tier while sporting pretty decent bulk (especially with Eviolite, if you're okay with taking Rocks damage), but pretty low Speed and poor Special coverage. Can also easily go physical with a strong Flare Blitz and okay coverage in Low Kick and Rock Slide.

:sm/snom:
Pokemon: Snom
Eviolite-Compatible: Y
Typing:
Ice.png
Bug.png

Base Stats: 50 / 25 / 35 / 55 / 35 / 65
Abilities: Shield Dust / Snow Warning / Ice Scales
Movepool: Aurora Beam, Blizzard, Dazzling Gleam, Giga Drain, Hidden Power, Ice Beam, Ice Spinner, Infestation, Leech Life, Light Screen, Mist, Play Rough, Reflect, Safeguard, Snowscape, Stun Spore, Swift, Water Pulse, Weather Ball

:sm/mawile::sm/mawile-mega:
Pokemon: Mawile
Eviolite-Compatible: N
Typing:
Steel.png
Fairy.png

Base Stats: 30 / 45 / 45 / 20 / 20 / 20
Mega Stats: 30 / 70 / 70 / 30 / 30 / 50
Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Intimidate / Sheer Force
Mega Ability: Guts
Movepool: Fire Punch
Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Will replace if this isn't allowed, but since this is a NatDex meta, that does mean that Mega Stones exist so.... Base form probably sucks (though probably wouldn't be too bad if it was Eviolite compatible) but you can try to use it as an Intimidate pivot or Sheer Force breaker. Mega Mawile serves a pretty good wallbreaker that simultaneously acts as a status absorber and Knock absorber, both hugely important in a NatDex metagame filled with NFEs. Both forms do suffer from horrid Special bulk, though
Torchic: In its current state, Torchic infringes a lot on Slugma's niche within the tier, being a super strong special Fire-type attacker, but now with more bulk and speed. As said above with the Poochyena sub, that's something we want to avoid. Change the sub to make it more distinct from Slugma (and also consider giving it stat nerfs).

Mawile: Base is fine, but the Mega forme is too overbearing right now. 70 base Attack, the infamous DNU Swords Dance + Sucker Punch combo, with arguably the best typing in the game, and is functionally immune to status. I like the idea of having a mega in the tier, it's neat, but this one is just too strong right now. I'd recommend at least changing the ability and removing Swords Dance, and would also look into nerfing it further (removing Sucker Punch perhaps?).

Abilities: Poison Point / Shed Skin (HA: Hustle)
Movepool:

Weight: 1031.6 lbs (467.9 kg)
Custom Elements: Use Gen 1 Metapod Sprites

Competitive Role: A mixed attacker that is able to set up particularly well against special threats by leveraging its large natural bulk, counterbalanced by a lack of initial offensive pressure.

Flavor / Description:
“A computer virus which has entered physical space; its full power is restrained by its chosen form, but it is able to wield a diverse array of techniques.”

Fakemon: Iron Thespian
View attachment 660950
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): N
Typing: Normal / Fighting
Base Stats:
60 / 28 / 28 / 28 / 36 / 80 (BST: 250)
Abilities: Quark Drive
Movepool:
Attract, Body Slam, Endure, Facade, Fake Out, Frustration, Hidden Power, Low Kick, Nuzzle, Rest, Return, Sleep Talk, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, Taunt, Toxic, Toxic Thread, Whirlwind, Yawn

Weight: 127.9 lbs (58.0 kg)
Custom Elements: Pokestar Smeargle Battle Sprites

Competitive Role: Iron Thespian aims to serve as an ideal Suicide Lead, with access to multiple hazards along with a powerful Speed tier for DNU standards (bolstered by Quark Drive), but comparatively minimal bulk and offensive move selections.

Flavor / Description:
“It resembles a certain Pokémon introduced in a paranormal magazine, described as a mad scientist’s attempt to convert a painter android into a super fighting robot.”

Fakemon Name: Trainer,
View attachment 660949

Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): N
Typing: Electric
Base Stats:
25 / 35 / 70 / 95 / 0 / 45 (BST: 270)

Abilities: Magnet Pull / Sturdy
Movepool:
Bide, Double Team, Dragon Breath, Dragon Pulse, Fire Spin, Flash, Icy Wind, Mega Kick, Mimic, Mud-Slap, Rage, Reflect, Rest, Roar, Shock Wave, Sludge Wave, Snore, Swagger, Swift, Substitute, Sunny Day, Tackle, Take Down, Teleport, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Thunder Punch, Thunder Wave, Toxic, X-Scissor

“An entity from a universe of corrupted code. It has taken a shape resembling a primitive Magnemite, with that flawed understanding of our reality shackling its dangerous potential from being unleashed.”
Iron Thespian: Hyper offense leads are historically quite broken in DNU (note how Venipede, a DNU UU (maybe even lower) mon without access to hazards, has been talked about for action), and this is hand crafted to be the best HO lead it could possibly be. This one is going to be straight up rejected on a conceptual level. Sorry JOJO :(

Trainer: Base 95 special attack with access to STAB Thunderbolt. While it's true the movepool isn't great, that doesn't matter when you can slap on a boosting item (Life Orb, Choice Specs, or even just a type-booster item) and just kill the entire tier except Woopers with that.

You have 24 hours to fix these subs! Thanks to everyone who submitted to slate 1 :)

In lieu of Iron Thespian & Trainer, I will substitute them with the following mons:

Missingno_RB.png

Pokemon: Missingno2
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): Y
Typing: Ghost/Flying
Base Stats:
45 / 45 / 45 / 45 / 45 / 45 (BST: 270)
Abilities: Swift Swim / Tough Claws (HA: Imposter)
Movepool:
Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Bind, Bone Club, Bonemerang, Conversion, Conversion2, Defog, Fire Punch, Fly, Focus Energy, Encore, Growl, Headbutt, Hex, Ice Punch, Leer, Life Dew, Liquidation, Pay Day, Protect, Shadow Bone, Shadow Punch, Sharpen, Sky Attack, Substitute, Surf, Tail Whip, Thunder Punch, Thunder, Water Gun

Weight: 1590 kg
Custom Elements: RBY Missingno Sprites
Competitive Role: Flexs between either serving as a customizable physical attacker (either going all in with Banded Tough Claws or as a unique Rain sweeper), or as a revenge killer with potentially better bulk due to its usable HP stat in conjunction with Imposter.

Flavor / Description:
“Said to be the soul of a Porygon who perished in cyberspace; it uses its collected data to optimize its combat prowess.”

Pokemon: Meltan
Eviolite-Compatible (Y/N): N
Typing: Steel / Normal (+Normal)
Base Stats:
46 / 65 / 55 (-10) / 50 (-5) / 15 (-20) / 34 (BST: 265)
Abilities: Magnet Pull -> Iron Fist
Movepool:
+Double Iron Bash, +Elem. Punches, + Earthquake, +Superpower, -Rest, - Thunderbolt

Weight: Same as vanilla
Custom Elements: N/A
Competitive Role: Meltan leverages its extremely strong defensive type, reliable physical bulk, and improved ability to serve as a budget version of its faux-evolution Melmetal, while simultaneously struggling against special attackers such as Litwick due to its worse special bulk and complete lack of recovery outside of Leftovers.

Subs are closed, and voting for slate 1 is open! Vetoes remain for Togepi and Poochyena as they were not fixed, along with the new Meltan sub. 252 Atk Iron Fist Meltan Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Nacli: 172-208 (54.9 - 66.4%) -- approx. 2HKO

Due to the amount of subs, and to give us a good base, for at least this slate, I'm going to expand the voting. Each person gets 5 votes, with one self-vote. The top 5 will make it into the mod. Here are the valid submissions:
