Does anyone play BL/UU/NU

I was only wondering, the majority of the kids I've seen posting in the battle m topics are seemingly all OU, so how many of you actually like battling BL/UU/NU? It's more fun to me, but maybe that's just me.
 
Since tiers are not set yet, it's kinda hard to do that.

Otherwise, I do play UU here and then on Shoddy,
and have played it in advance a lot.
 
BL/UU/NU hasn't even been settled on. We only have a (tentative) Uber's list right now.

Maybe when smogon actually create a UU tier to play, we can play it. But there are bigger fish to fry right now... debates of which should not be mentioned at the moment, etc. etc.
 
I frequently use BL teams, cause I love Tauros, Forretress, and others. In fact, a BL team will probably be my first team when Competitor comes out.
 
Yeah, hell, OU hasn't been settled yet. Playtesting is required before we can make any tiers really. Smogon does have a lot of leverage, so I think the mods are being prudent... Smogon tier lists tend to be "official" and the last word on some other forums. So Smogon cannot afford to rush the tier lists.

Oh, and as far as I know... BL is a "faux" tier. The only two tiers of importance are OU and UU. BL is a set of pokemon banned from UU.
 
If not for Heracross and Dragonite being two of my favourite pokemon (legitimately, not because of how strong they are) I would be running a BL/UU team. I actually prefer the two of them to OU which is riddled with overpowered sweepers; which makes for less interesting fights, IMO.
 
ahh, that'd explain things then. I'm a somewhat frequent poster on marriland and they have a definite tier list, but I get it now. Smogon is more of the regulator as far as the wifi community goes.
 
I use some BL in OU.

Milotic is pretty good in OU, and so are some other things.

Think I might try a lower tier just to use Butterfree and Shuckle. They're cool like that, and I want Shuckle to be uber-walling everything.

Take a look at my defense tiers. Its a set of calculations that combined both HP and defenses. Shuckle may have the highest raw defenses in the game, but coupled with its very low HP makes it actually pretty sucky in terms of "walling".

Shuckle sits at tier 119.66 to my calcs in both defense and sp. def. Cresselia beats its defenses in both catagories due to having significantly more HP sitting at 121+ in both catagories. In addition, Cresselia has an "instant" recovery move called moonlight.

All in all... hate to tell ya this but shuckle sucks.

Yeah, but that's why it's UU. I'm just saying that Shuckle is outclassed by lots of stuff, which is why I can't use it competitively in OU and be able to win with it.

I use Cresselia, too. It's a bit obvious with Shuckle's 20 Base HP that it sucks a bit once you get past defenses, but that doesn't mean that I have to use Cresselia over Shuckle 100% of the time.
 
I fully ev trained a shuckle in defense and hp and raised it to level 100, and it failed horrible, two hits it was out.
 
cresselia is the only pokemon that beats it on both sides of the spectrum on the 255/255 +nature and shuckle gets a Sp D boost in sandstorm, which is almost enough to tie chansey with signifigantly better defense to boot. The only reason I bother arguing the point is because shuckle is my favorite pokemon. I <3 shuckle
 
BL isn't really a false tier perse. It can be played just like any other tier and is a hell of a lot of fun if you ask me. I'm down for a BL match anytime. The game becomes so much more enjoyable without Blissey and company around.
