Don't Drop Dat Double Dance....AYE!!! - OU Bulky Offense

Hello, my name is Prince of Persian and I'm bringing you guys another RMT! This team was inspired by the all powerful threat named Double Dance Landorus. Now DD Lando was a huge threat in gen 5, however it is now overlooked and is primarily used as stealth support or scarfed pivot. I decided to bring DD Lando back because I wanted to. So....on to the team!

Process

So of course I started the team with the monster of DD Lando

Then I add Heatran because he gives me rocks and an answer to Skarm, bulky grass types and the birds.

Next I need hazard removal so Mandibuzz was on.

After that came the beast known as Mega Venusar which gave me an answer to water types.

Aegislash came on because of it's excellent wallbreaking capabilities and great synergy with Mandi

Finally came Keldeo which helped defeat ground types and the fat blob.

Being that I was super weak to Fireblast/Airslash/Focus Blast Mega Charizard Y, I swapped Mandi for Lati as my defog support.

Because I had 5 special attackers, I swapped Aegislash out for Bisharp.

I soon realized that I was mega weak to Extrasensory Greninja, therefore I add me a dank Azumarill as a solid check.

The Team

144-landorus-ex.jpg

Lando Calrissian (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

What can I say...this thing is an absolute BEAST! It has key resistances to Fighting and Ground types and immune to Electric types. It can easily intimidate physical attackers and set up on them. It also carries the famous "Edge-Quake" offensive coverage. I can choose Rock Polish or Swords Dance to sweep depending on the situation. If I see that the team is super fast then I use Rock Polish, if it's more stall bulky based, I use Swords Dance. The EVs allow it to maintain some bulk as well as out-speed everything it needs to, as well as common Choice Scarf users after a single Rock Polish boost such as Keldeo and Terrakion.

112-latias-ex.jpg

Latios (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Defog

Latios fits pretty darn well on this team. It gives me hazard removal even though my team isn't super weak to rocks. It also gives me an offensive presence by hitting things hard with STAB Draco and Psyshock. Thunderbolt is to hit Azumarill with can be annoying after a Belly Drum. This things is also a great answer to Mega Charizard Y which can also be a nuisance. EV's are pretty standard.

Power Ranger (Bisharp) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

Bisharp is a monster. This thing has fantastic synergy with Latias. Knock Off received a major boost in X&Y, and is what I spam most of the time. Sucker Punch terrorizes even Pokemon that resist it after an attack boost, and Iron Head provides reliable STAB to hit the likes of Azumarill and Clefable. EV's allow me to hit fast and hard and gives me a bit of bulk.

141-venusaur-ex.jpg

Penisaur (Venusaur-Mega) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SAtk / 56 Spd
Modest Nature
- Synthesis
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]

The reason this Pokemon does well with an offensive spread is because it has good Special Attack, resistances, and reliable recovery. Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb are it's normal STAB'S that hit super hard with that 122 base Sp. Attack Stat. 56 Speed EVs are used to allow Venusaur to outspeed standard Crawdaunt and more importantly Rotom-Wash which can stop Lando from sweeping if I'm forced to rely on Stone Miss. HP Fire to hit Ferro and Skarm which can dent Lando from sweeping.

114-azumarill.jpg

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet

Azumarill is my answer to water types like Keldeo and Extrasensory Greninja and Fighting types like Conkeldurr. Ridiculous special bulk with Assault Vest while maintaining really strong offensive presence with great STAB in Play Rough and priority Aqua Jet. Superpower over Waterfall to hit Ferrothorn and Bisharp. Knock Off is a great utility move that will catch a lot of common Azumarill switch-ins offguard, like Skarmory and Aegislash.

109-heatran-ex.jpg

Iron Man (Heatran) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 140 HP / 252 SAtk / 116 Spd
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power

I love this Heatran set. This is normally my lead as Air Balloon makes it easy to lay down Stealth Rocks against common leads like Landorus-T and Garchomp. 252 Modest STAB Fire Blast hits like a truck. If I see the opponent has a Gliscor (which walls my DD Lando) I make sure to keep my Air Balloon on because Gliscor can't touch me unless it has knock off and I can return with a HP Ice. Earth Power is for opposing Trans.

Conclusion
Thanks for reading my RMT! Please rate it, even if it's just a positive comment like "Good Team" would be fine. When you rate please don't change the DD Lando set. I know it's not as good as it was last gen, but it's the foundation of this team so I'm keeping it.

Great team! All I could suggest is switch Latias to Latios, so you hit a bit harder. If you ever need to test, find me on ps with the same name.

Nice team bro , only a suggestion , change the set of Azumarill

Here's the set:

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet

You don't need 2 pokemons with Knock Off , and need a powerful water move.
And really change the Lando set :P

1. If you're running Bisharp on a BO team, I'd remove the Life Orb. It has poor bulk, but a nice typing, meaning it'll hate losing HP. Black Glasses is now the recommended item on Bisharp, and I'd suggest you run it. You could also try out AV; it loses some fire power, but is takes Draco Meteors and Moonblasts much more comfortably.

2. Why do you want Venusaur to outspeed Crawdaunt? It seems like a waste to me. Crunch doesn't OHKO, most don't run Crunch, and Giga Drain would recover most health lost. I'd suggest just running enough to outspeed Azumarill. You save some bulk that way. Additionally, I prefer Knock Off to Superpower. You not going to beat Ferrothorn, and you already have Heatran and Venusaur for it. Knock Off is useful for Chansey, and Superpower's utility is generally limited.

3. The Latias set is weird, tbh. Latias generally works best with Healing Wish + Life Orb on offensive teams and Roost on defensive teams. Although I don't know what to switch out; your team appreciates Psychic Electric Dragon coverage. I guess it's cool for now.

Overall, the team seems to work pretty well. You have one win condition that's supported by five other offensive Pokemon. :D

Thanks for the rate
  • Bisharp's item has been changed to Black Glasses.
  • I don't need to outspeed Crawdaunt, i just mentioned I did. More importantly I outspeed Rotom. Azumarill's moveset has been changed from Knock Off to Waterfall. If it doesn't work, I'll change Superpower to Waterfall.
  • Yea the set is a bit weird but it has that surprising factor that I like.

Why should I REALLY change the Lando set?

Because the set you have is very weak, with two moves that make boost, nothing works well and do not have a good coverage, such as a Breloom would leave you with nothing to do and destroy you, really it would be best to change this

Mufasa (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Knock Off

You can run Adamant too.

I really appreciate you commenting on my RMT and giving your input. However I do disagree. You claim that my set is weak and it doesn't have good coverage, but only 4 pokemon resist the "EdgeQuake" combo and only one of those is actually in OU which is Breloom. Also, all sweepers have checks and counters and it is the teams job to eliminate those threats so that the sweeper can sweep and I feel that my team does a pretty darn good job eliminating those threats so Lando can be unleashed. If you really don't believe the set is good just ask this guy. I know there are better options, but this option just isn't THAT bad.
