SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard ORAS Doubles OU tournament
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination
  • All rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field with regards to scouting previous opponents, all matches must have replays recorded. If neither player posts replays of the match, both players will suffer an automatic game loss. (If you were in losers' when you played, you are both out. If you were in winners', the winner is in losers' and the loser is out.) All replays for the round are in the OP for ease of access for anyone looking to scout future opponents or take usage stats.
  • If you are found signing up under more than one alt, you will be permanently banned from circuit events.
  • Activity calls will be made by me (or someone I trust) with probably the neutral assistance from a TD, flips will be made on PS using !pick for transparency.
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the Doubles OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round. Doubles Ubers is available as a challenge option if something is banned mid-round. If the banlist changes right near the end of the tour, I reserve the right to keep the old banlist for the remaining duration of the tour.
  • Don't be a dick. If I found out you harassed your opponent, or were overly obnoxious or rude, I would have literally 0 problems banning you from future events.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
  • Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned. (No other evasion boosting things are banned).
  • OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
  • HypnoGravity Clause: The move Gravity is banned with all moves that can induce Sleep. I am not 100% sure if this is fully implemented on Pokemon Showdown!, so if it is not and you are found to be using it you will be disqualified and banned from future Circuit events.
  • Uber Clause: Anything that appears on Doubles OU banlist is banned. This is the banlist for Doubles OU:

no if check doesn't play tonight he's getting hit with an act. it's not fair to TUO to have to wait that long to schedule with his opp.
 
Not sure how you wanna deal with this shaian but Kyle Ayala (Magunda on PS) and I scheduled for today for 7pm EST.

I tried to push the game back since I have a lot of work that piled up today that needs to be caught up on, but he said that wasnt possible. So I came on at the scheduled time and stayed on for 20minutes Showdown with no response before leaving. I have the image below. I can play later in the week after 7pm est when I get back from work but according to him that's not possible. If he finds a way to be free then Im perfectly ok with playing but I cant linger around today any longer.

this is the part where im confused. you tell me the day of that you cant play(which pretty much is declaring you can't make scheduled time), then say oh, now i can make it to the 7 pm scheduling we originally scheduled. How do you expect me to accommodate to all these last minute changes?
EDIT: the thing is I'm not getting any prior notice, you know? Thats why I'm kinda upset.

okay lemme break this down based on that screenshot + the VMs

1. kamikaze established contact asking for a time after the weekend, aiming for monday
2. kyle ayala scheduled for 9PM EDT --> kami agreed
3. kyle ayala then requests to change the time to around 7pm EDT citing monday night football as the reason
4. kamikaze, citing work as a reason, then requests kyle ayala if another date was available before wednesday night which is how long the extensions last
5. kyle ayala states that he can not play on tuesday and wednesday, though no specific reason was given but i'll believe it's urgent, so kyle ayala states that it has to be today
6. kamikaze says that, assuming kyle ayala is still not available to play today, that he can tomorrow
7. kyle ayala says that he works from 5:30pm to 1:30 am so that tomorrow and wednesday can not work

now heres my verdict:

this round lasts another 4 hours, you guys are either going to play at the original 9pm time regardless of the football game, or some time before the deadline tonight or kamikaze is going to win the activity.

kyle ayala, your opponent has been incredibly accommodating of your schedule but you have yet to show that same level of accommodation. kamikaze can't just put work off to fit to your schedule, and asking him to in order to watch a football game but then not showing that same level of respect back is incredibly disrespectful.

so to reiterate: find some time to play tonight, or kamikaze gets activity. if you are both somehow able to find time before wednesday you may still request an extension. but again, you have until midnight to figure this out.

im just going to play at 9 pm.
and if its not fine with that, 6-9 pm is fine, I'll just have someone to cover me.
it's kinda obvious youre favoring him for last minute upbringings, when i wasnt even notified that he was going to play at that time AFTER he said he couldnt.
 
You asked him if he could play at 9pm, he says yes. You wanna push it back for MNF, he said he'd try and make it earlier. That isn't a commitment, that's "well I will try but 9pm holds true if I can't." The onus is on you to ask for a commitment, and the onus is on you to show up despite him trying to make the time. He offered to work around it regardless and you didn't want to and basically refused to consider the previous time... because of MNF, of all things. I don't have any stake in this. Shaian isn't being biased, you just don't know scheduling or empathy.
 
final verdict: if not tonight you two get till tomorrow at midnight, but try and get it done asap. also learn to schedule god damn.

reasoning:
1. you guys can still play tonight per my previous post
2. kami said he would prefer to not play tomorrow citing the election results, and kyle ayala said he would take tomorrow off. however, this is the ideal time to fight before wednesday since election results won't be known till close to midnight or early wednesday night, so anytime from 7-11pm should be fine for both of you.
3. kyle ayala has said he has work on wednesday and asking him to take time off work twice is too much. frankly i disagree with skipping 1 day for pokemon to be excessive but i can't force people to live a certain way
4. shortening the extension means that stax can schedule with his next round opponent faster so we can hopefully not have extensions next round
