Spectrier ist im Doubles-Metagame eine gruselige Gefahr, indem es seine hohe Initiative und Spezialangriff nutzt, um geschwächte Gegner wegzuräumen oder Löcher in gegnerische Teams zu schlagen. Shadow Ball ist der Hauptangriff von Spectrier, mit dem es den Großteil des Metagames neutral trifft und gleichzeitig Cresselia und Gholdengo sehr effektiven Schaden zufügt. Tera Blast-Fee lässt Spectrier seine schlechten Coverage-Optionen umgehen und bedroht Unlicht-Pokémon, welche Shadow Ball resistieren, wie Incineroar, Chien-Pao, und Chi-Yu. Tera Fee lässt es ebenfalls Sucker Punch von Kingambit und Chien-Pao resistieren. Hyper Beam ist seine stärkste Attacke, mit der es Ogerpon-H OHKOed und der Schadensoutput in Kombination mit Chi-Yus Beads of Ruin noch gefährlicher werden kann. Ogerpon-W und Amoonguss können Spectrier durch Redirection unterstützen, während Tornadus und Whimsicott Tailwind-Support bieten, mit dem Spectrier nahezu immer zuerst angreifen kann. Iron Hands bedroht Unlicht- und Normal-Pokémon, die Shadow Ball resistieren und macht somit den Weg für einen Spectrier-Sweep frei.
Spectrier is a spooky threat in Doubles, using its high Speed and Special Attack to clean up weakened foes or punch holes in opposing teams. Shadow Ball is Spectrier's main attack of choice, threatening most of the metagame for neutral damage while also hitting Cresselia and Gholdengo for super effective damage. Tera Blast Fairy lets Spectrier work around its poor coverage options, threatening the Dark-types that resist Shadow Ball like Incineroar, Chien-Pao, and Chi-Yu. Tera Fairy also lets Spectrier resist Sucker Punch from Kingambit and Chien-Pao. Hyper Beam is Spectrier’s strongest attack, KOing Ogerpon-H and having even more threatening output if paired with Chi-Yu’s Beads of Ruin. Ogerpon-W and Amoonguss can support Spectrier with redirection, while Tornadus and Whimsicott can provide Tailwind support to nearly guarantee it moves first. Iron Hands threatens the Dark- and Normal-types that resist Shadow Ball, clearing the way for a Spectrier sweep.
