The Background
This team was originally built during World Cup as an option against Rylon, the premise was a team centred around an offense killer such as Mega Lopunny/Mega Manectric whilst having the tools to beat fatter structures. Now, the reason why it's M-Lop instead of M-Mane is because M-Lop is formidable across various match ups whilst M-Mane doesn't exactly have that kind of freedom and M-Lop outperformed M-Mane during the testing phase. You'll eventually realise that the team isn't built to only target the aforementioned archetypes but it tries to cover other various grounds.

The Process

:lopunny-mega:
Well, starting the team we have Mega Lopunny. An incredibly potent threat in the metagame thanks to its extremely strong speed tier, priorities and difficult to switch in STABs which lets it beats down offense and hyper offense really well. Along with this, M-Lop is blessed with a handy movepool even if it does look monochrome in most occasions, being able to use priorities like Fake Out and Quick Attack whilst having reliable STABs and even useful status moves like Encore, Heal Bell, Healing Wish rounds it off as a reliable Mega of choice.
:lopunny-mega: :keldeo:
Next in line is Keldeo, another powerful mon with a lot of viable movesets, it mainly abuses Scald as the burn mechanic is broken in this tier but with sets like Choice Specs for wallbreaking power and SubCM for set up purposes, it makes for an annoying threat for many teams to handle. Keldeo also shares synergy with M-Lop since Scald can weaken M-Lop checks like Slowbro, Amoonguss, M-Venu and boosted Scald can weaken Clefable to put it in range of M-Lop or straight up remove Clef. The set chosen here is SubCM as it allows Keldeo to break down a lot of fatter structures without the need of predicting moves like with Specs, it also allows Keldeo to avoid status moves and set up on mons like Slowbro without Psychic coverage, Hippowdon, Chansey and choice locked mons like Volcanion, Weavile, Tyranitar etc. Keldeo with its type also gives us an immediate answer to Weavile as other mons on the team are not able to switch into at least one of Weavile's STABs.
:lopunny-mega: :keldeo: :heatran:
Heatran is a key member of the team as not only is it a Steel type which is basically mandatory but it can also slowly tackle the likes of Stall thanks to Magma Storm + Toxic + Taunt. Not being completely useless against Stall was one of the criterion that I was looking for when building the team since as aforementioned, it was an archetype that I had prepped for. Even if the opponent doesn't bring Stall, Heatran is able to beat down the likes of Clefable, M-Venu, Amoonguss which can be really annoying for this team. Along with this, Toxic is very valuable against mons such as Rotom-Wash, Garchomp, Hippowdon, Keldeo, Slowbro and so on. Lastly, Heatran also happens to be x4 resistant against Ice and since Keldeo isn't RestTalk on this team, it's a passive that could come in handy against a reckless Weavile.
:lopunny-mega: :keldeo: :heatran: :garchomp:
Where the meta currently stands, SpDef Garchomp is an absolute monster, incredibly difficult to kill in one go which in turn, allows Swords Dance sets to spiral out of control. The team is not really great into stuff like Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Mega Alakazam, Volcanion and a SpDef spread allows us to tackle those threats with a lot more ease. Pairing this with Swords Dance makes this particular Chomp set really threatening, after a boost, common switch ins like Clefable, Slowbro, Zapdos, Thundurus need to be careful as the former two are 2HKO'd by Earthquake whilst the latter two fear Rock Slide and weakening any of these carves a nice path for M-Lop to go in. This set can also beat some spikestacks after boost in prolonged games thanks to those teams struggling to remove Chomp.
:lopunny-mega: :keldeo: :heatran: :garchomp: :serperior:
Looking at the previous team members, you will start to notice that it struggles to switch into the likes of Mega Diancie, opposing Keldeo, Azumarill and Manaphy, which is why Serperior has slithered into the squad. Synthesis gives it the ability to switch into the threats mentioned above and threaten them with Leaf Storm or Glare. Serp usually always does something in every game so it isn't a surprise here that even clicking Glare vs Torn-T can make an impact since that allows Keldeo room to tackle a supposed check with Sub/boosts from CM or para. Glare is also a great way for speed control as this team does not have a scarfer.
:lopunny-mega: :keldeo: :heatran: :garchomp: :serperior: :zapdos:
The final piece of the puzzle and one that fits perfectly for what role it must fulfil, the one and only, Zapdos. Other removal options did not fit all the points that Zapdos can provide so they were disregarded. It runs a Defog set here as removal is always a good thing, not only that but being a flying type also provides the team with a necessary ground immunity. With Roost, it makes for a unique defensive profile as it can beat mons like M-Lop, M-Pinsir, non plot Thundy, Torn without much hassle. Another positive is that Zapdos can provide the team with momentum in Volt Switch.

The Team

:lopunny-mega:
Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Quick Attack

The choice of mega, a fast and potent threat against many teams, rocking a very standard moveset with dual priority for effectiveness against hyper offense. It serves as the team's main win con.

:keldeo:
Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Calm Mind
- Substitute

The second fighting type of the team which is where the title comes from, SubCM makes it a dangerous set up sweeper, being capable of setting up against many passive and choice locked mons. Specs RestTalk is another set that works with this structure but obviously not the first choice for this team.

:heatran:
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 184 HP / 96 SpA / 144 SpD / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Toxic
- Taunt

The mandatory steel type of the team, modest gives it extra power as Heatran can hit quite hard. Magma Storm paired with Taunt allows it to beat mons like Clefable, M-Venu and Chansey. Toxic hits the bulky grounds and bulky waters which eases tension for the team and especially M-Lop who gets checked by the aforementioned. The Hp EVs is a Leftovers number, SpDef paired with the Hp lets Heatran take hits from M-Zam and opposing 0 Spa Heatran but SpDef bulk is always appreciated on Heatran to allow it to check stuff like Thundurus, Zapdos and Tornadus better. Speed hits 211 which is great when M-Venu runs 210 to creep Crawdaunt.

252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 184 HP / 144 SpD Heatran: 272-322 (73.7 - 87.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Heatran Earth Power vs. 184 HP / 144 SpD Heatran: 272-320 (73.7 - 86.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

:garchomp:
Garchomp @ Leftovers
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 140 SpD / 16 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide

The rocker and the electric immunity on the team, SpDef set is chosen to tackle the likes of Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Volcanion, Mega Alakazam better. Swords Dance with Earthquake + Rock Slide makes it extremely potent and capable of removing irritance for M-Lop such as Slowbro, Clefable, Zapdos, Thundurus, etc. Hp EVs for leftovers, the Def EVs lets Chomp take 2 Returns/favoured roll from Return + HJK from M-Lop if necessary, also lets Chomp take 2 Zen Headbutts from Mega Metagross which is important for this team as Zapdos is unable to check M-Metagross. Speed creeps Jolly Tyranitar and slower.

252 Atk Lopunny-Mega Return vs. 248 HP / 104 Def Garchomp: 162-192 (38.6 - 45.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 104 Def Garchomp: 172-204 (41 - 48.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+1 252 SpA Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 248 HP / 140+ SpD Garchomp: 202-238 (48.2 - 56.8%) -- 37.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Volcanion Steam Eruption vs. 248 HP / 140+ SpD Garchomp: 160-190 (38.1 - 45.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Zapdos Hidden Power Ice vs. 248 HP / 140+ SpD Garchomp: 188-224 (44.8 - 53.4%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 140+ SpD Garchomp: 176-210 (42 - 50.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

:serperior:
Serperior @ Lum Berry
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 120 HP / 72 Def / 64 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpD / 30 Spe
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Synthesis
- Glare

An important member of the team as it can check many threats such as Mega Diancie, Keldeo, Azumarill, Rotom-Wash and so on. Synthesis is the key for the sentence before this and it also provides needed longevity. Hidden Power Rock is chosen as it lets Serp break past Thundurus, Zapdos which is necessary for Mega Lopunny, Chomp and Rock also lets Serp take down Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Talonflame if needed. Lum Berry allows Serp to switch into Rotom's Wisp and lets Serp stay in vs Thundy for the HP Rock kill as it clicks T-Wave. The Hp EVs is a Leftovers number, the PhysDef bulk lets Serp handle Mega Metagross more safely and rest is dumped into SpA for maximum damage output.

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 178-211 (55.4 - 65.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 90-106 (28 - 33%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 268-316 (83.4 - 98.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 219-258 (68.2 - 80.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Thundurus Hidden Power Ice vs. 120 HP / 0 SpD 30 IVs Serperior: 136-160 (42.3 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Lopunny-Mega Fake Out vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 67-79 (20.8 - 24.6%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252 Atk Lopunny-Mega High Jump Kick vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 213-252 (66.3 - 78.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 120 HP / 72 Def 30 IVs Serperior: 135-159 (42 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

:zapdos:
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Roost
- Defog

The final puzzle piece of the team. Nothing really special about the moveset, just standard Defog whilst keeping threats like Mega Lopunny, Mega Pinsir and Thundurus-Therian at bay with Roost. Although HP Ice was chosen due to the team's inability to damage opposing Garchomp, it is also nice to snipe Landorus-Therian for damage. The drawback however, is that it becomes set up fodder for mons like Bisharp and Metagross so that is something to keep in mind when piloting the team. You could run Heat Wave but HP Ice is the preferred move here. The speed creeps Jolly Tyranitar so you can Volt Switch first.
