Manager Signups
Format for the tour is as follows:
  • 6x8 (6 teams, 8 slots with 2 subs) with 2x SV DOU, 2x SV Natdex DOU, 1x SV DUU, 1x Doubles LC, 1x DPP DOU, and 1x ADV DOU (which is Bo3).
  • The season will be a round robin format, making it 5 weeks long, with the top 4 teams progressing to an elimination playoffs bracket.
  • One manager can selfbuy with a price determined by the following formula: [((max(10,000, last auction price) + 10,000 + (1,500 * all wins last Derby))/2) rounded up to the nearest .5k], but players appointed as a co after the draft can still play. (Formula may change but only before manager signups close and it'll be stated here in the thread)
  • Just for clarification: you cannot retain players who self-bought last year

The 6 teams are as follows:
Jubilife Jockeys :rapidash:
Icirrus Ice Riders :calyrex-ice:
Neigh Bark Town :calyrex-shadow:
Twinleaf Turboblaze :reshiram:
Konikoni Kingdras :kingdra:
Gallop of the Gods :arceus:

Due to this being the first time with locked franchises some leniency is going to be given with rebrands, just be sure to keep it with the theme!

Why should you be a Derby manager?: Running back last year's success, my last 4 team tours have all been playoff teams

Why should you be a Derby manager?: I have a lot of experience playing DOU and playing in various team tours, and I would love to give managing a shot. Olivia has prior experience managing in team tours, including in Smogon Discord Premier League where she brought her team to semi finals, going undefeated in regular season. She has experience playing a wide array of tiers in team tour settings, including VGC Draft.
What Derby tiers do you have experience with? SV, DPP, ADV (have followed the others to varying extents)

Why should you be a Derby manager?: Eragon and I created the Kingdras together and have so far managed it quite successfully, making it to top 4 and finals in the previous iterations of derby. Before I continue talking about why both Despacito and I are fit as managers I first wanna clarify real quick that Eragon and I haven't fallen out or anything, but Eragon just wants to take a break from managing, so im picking up the legacy of the kingdras with Despacito for this Derby. Both Despacito and I got quite some manager experience so far, with me managing for derby x2, UMPL x2 and now 2v2PL x2, meanwhile Despacito has managed UMPL x2, 2v2PL x2 and Derby last year since Eragon and me made him our third manager. When managing a team we always wanna aim for a competitive but also a friendly and chill atmosphere for our team where we try to combine already well known and established players with lesser known players who still got the talent and skill. So far we've always done that quite successfully. I could go on for quite a bit about why we are very fit to be managers but in the end it all boils down to this: both of us know how to create a competitive team that gets results but also has an enjoyable experience, which is in our eyes even more important, why even do it if it ain't fun.

Why should you be a Derby manager?:

I managed the winning team last derby from a rough start, clawing back from bottom seed to eventual champions. I believe my experience as a manger, my expertise in the featured tiers, and my energetic personality make me one of the best candidates in the community to foster a team environment which is enjoyable, fruitful, and educational. I have continually demonstrated tournament success in a variety of tiers including but not limited to several of the ones on offer in this tournament.

qsns surely needs no introduction as a long time community member and successful player. Combining their prior manager bids with mine probably gives you enough teams to put together their own premier league. We have great chemistry as friends and we will be sure to offer one of the best tournament experiences a player could ask for.

What Derby tiers do you have experience with?:

SV DOU: council member, OSDT III semifinalist, 2023 invitationals semifinalist, 2024 invitationals quarterfinalist, 2024 seasonal finalist
SV DUU: no tournament success, but I supported the tier last DPL
ND DOU: former council member, several successful team tournament bids
SV DLC: taught myself the tier in a week to win a crucial tiebreaker game last derby
DPP DOU: one of the founding members of the tier, to this day I am a part of the council and am actively building and participating in the metagame
ADV DOU: long time council member, last year I went 5-3 in the tier which I believe was 2nd overall in the pool

Team brand (MUST BE HORSE THEMED): Twinleaf Turboblaze (We have Bagels blessing)

Why should you be a Derby manager: We're new to managing on forums, I have some experience, having managed LPL twice. I have also played a few team tours (Derby twice and DWCUP I am confident in my leadership skills, and with our combined deep understanding of every tier, except DPP and ADV DOU, I have no doubt we will be successful. We are confident in our abilities to draft players where our weakest tiers are to patch it up. LogIce has experience in managing discord draft team tours, most recently a money tour where his team made finals.

What Derby tiers do you have experience with: SVDOU, SVDUU, DLC, NDDOU, and we're fairly familiar with the rest. I won the DLC circuit, and LogIce won the DUU Circuit. We both were drafted for LCBC either starting or supporting DLC. I also reached finals of this year's edition of the DLC circuit(ongoing). LogIce had the second best NDDOU record last season (6-3) and made quarterfinals of the NDDOU Circuit.

Why should you be a Derby manager?: Between Idyll and myself i'm fairly positive (did not fact check) we have played in, managed, hosted, or been around every single team tour DOU has ever hosted or been apart of throughout our over combined 20 years throughout dou's existence. We both are extremely familiar with every possible tier and player within the community and despite never having managed together we have been on plenty of teams together throughout the years and work very well with each other.

We both come with plenty of experience and knowledge around DOU and would love to share that with a group of players that we will lead to playoffs.

What Derby tiers do you have experience with?: Between us both, we have played every possible tier in a high level tournament

Why should you be a Derby manager?:

There will be (and already are) a lot of great signups in this thread - I'm just adding my name to the list as one more option for consideration. In 2023 I founded and co-managed Red Spect Redemption, the winning team of Doubles Derby I. Due to unforeseen circumstances I wasn't able to be present for the whole tournament, but I did execute a well-thought-out draft plan and recruited a team that I think not only performed well but also had positive synergy which I will always prioritize. It would be great to have another chance to lead a team from start to finish like I intended, and I would do my best to ensure everyone has a good time along the way.

What Derby tiers do you have experience with?:

In addition to always being a regular participant of the SV DOU circuit each year, last year I played both ADV and DPP as part of my Oldgens Circuit run and made Oldgens Invitationals. I have less experience with Natdex, DUU, and LC but have had some exposure through test games and spectating in previous iterations of Doubles Derby.

Why should you be a Derby manager?:
We managed this franchise the previous Derby too, even though it was our first year managing we almost made it to playoffs and couldn't quite get there due to an unfortunate loss the last week. With the greater experience we have in all tiers compared to last time, we hope to bring back
this franchise better than ever!

What Derby tiers do you have experience with?:
SV DOU: Jello was top 16 in the most recent SV Circuit.
SV DUU: I was a finalist for DUU Last Chance and have built and supported a great deal for the tier since inception, Jello also got to top 8 in DUU Swiss last year.
SV DLC: Jello got drafted for LPL this year, thus has experience playing the tier.
ND DOU: Me and Jello are both council, having success and being drafted for multiple tournaments for the tier, and I namely am part of the previous NDPL champion team.
DPP DOU: Jello is a very consistent player of the tier and has seen success in a number of DPP DOU related tournaments.
ADV DOU: While this is probably our weakest tier, we will be providing the utmost support for our players
