I assume Glaciate, Bulldoze, Stun Spore, Glare, Agility, Quiver Dance, Dragon Dance, Shell Smash, Hammer Arm, and Choice Scarf are all disallowed as well?

edit: also where do After You and Quash stand?

After you is fine.

Setup moves are not allowed (Ddance / QD / Agility / Shell Smash)

Glaciate, Bulldoze, Stun Spore and Glare are basically the same as Icy Wind or T-Wave; not allowed

Choice Scarf is fine.

Hammer are does not help you since you cannot use Trick Room; totally fine :)

Cool, thanks for clarifying. This challenge looks like it's going to be pretty rough since pretty much every team I've used has some form of speed control :|

Jesus christ that was stressful. Every match against a decent player I had to be on the ball, every turn, or risk getting steamrolled. Part of it might be due to going with a rather offensive and fragile team for this, but the general mediocrity of the ladder helped compensate for that.

the great big obligatory useless team dump:
Politoed @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Helping Hand
- Protect
- Ice Beam

[11:16:28 AM] Doesnt Know: build a doubles team that doesn't use any form of speed control
[11:16:30 AM] Doesnt Know: *how*
[11:18:45 AM] Fireburn: rain

I haven't actually played with rain that much in Doubles- the last rain team I built was my very first team and it was rather awful. I don't think it's as broken here as in Singles, especially since every other team is packing at least one raincoat mon- as such, I tried to avoid making a "full" rain team. Not that I could anyway since Kingdra and Swift Swim Ludicolo were off the table!

Jirachi @ Lum Berry
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Spd / 24 Def
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Rain Dance
- Follow Me
- Protect
- Psychic

At first I wanted to do some sort of protected Focus Punch shenanigans with Conkeldurr, but I ended up writing him off the team, which also removed the main reason for Jirachi being here (also why is it min speed wow). The ability to shrug of fire in the rain and take Psychic hits aimed at Keldeo made it invaluable though. EVs allow it to outrun max speed Hitmontop despite me being a complete idiot and forgetting to fix the IVs when I changed this from a slow Trick Room punisher. Protect is obligatory. Psychic is chosen to maul Hitmontop and do better overall in the Intimidate-heavy metagame as a mono-attack than Iron Head. Rain Dance was used exactly zero times due to my team not really caring about rain.

Keldeo @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Protect
- Taunt

If using Kingdra is anything like using Keldeo then it terrifies me, as this pony was easily the MVP of the team. Rain-boosted Hydro Pumps let it punch massive holes in most things, and it has enough speed to outrun most of the game and Taunt to prevent Trick Room shenanigans. Respectable 91/90/90 bulk and a strong STAB in Secret Sword made it invaluable.

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Grass Knot
- Focus Blast

I figure since I don't have any form of speed control, the longer the battle goes the more likely I am to get swept up by some jerk Tailwind or Trick Room. As such, I decided to load up the rest of the team with heavy attackers, starting with an outclassed genie. I'm not sure if Specs is the best item for him though as he dies to a stiff breeze without bulk investment and wants to switch moves a lot.

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Ice Shard
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Protect

I realized that I didn't have many options against kami. Because I paid attention to VGC 2013, I was aware that Mamoswine makes a good check to them. Unfortunately, I am not bold enough to run two Choice items in Doubles, so I went with a non-Scarf Mamoswine that doesn't really accomplish much in that regard. It can still wreck Dragons pretty well though, and provides a nifty Electric resist.

Breloom @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Protect

For the last mon, I wanted something that could counter Trick Room and carry a good priority move. Breloom packs both of these talents, and was a very welcome member.

To compensate for not having many replays in the past, I made a point of saving every battle that wasn't a turn 1 forfeit. I didn't take very good notes on what each of them was though, and a lot of them are pretty sloppy. The only one I would've saved normally is the first one, although it still isn't great.

Not sure how I managed to run into literally zero sun teams, but I'm not complaining since they kinda scare me.

FUCK, I FORGOT THIS AGAIN NJARGH

Next challenge: Mono-Gen because I am fucking lazy and such
Rules:
· You may only use a team of Pokemon from a single generation. For example, you may not use Tyranitar and Thundurus on the same team, as Tar is gen 2 and Thundy is gen 5.
· You can make as many teams as you want, and ladder with all of them, as long as all the teams meet the standards of the mono-gen rule.

Good luck guys :)

I love how much Rain dominates this Monogen, getting Politoed and Kingdra, while TTar gets no sand abusers, Ninetales gets....Exeggcutor? and Abomasnow gets nada. Maybe Rotom?

So I guess that this last challenge was so terribly thought out that no one participated.

Anyways, updated the OP to fit the previous challenge (fuk speed control) – Pocket you can update the leaderboard. If no one posts an identification of a successful alt for the ongoing challenge within 24 hours, then let's just say the 6th challenge never existed :|
