I've been working on the Win Streak achievement the last couple of days and found it surprisingly difficult. I've gotten to 11 wins in a row as my highest, while trying a bunch of times. I'm giving up, for now at least. Of course hax messed up my 12th win, but still.

Just wanted to say that.

Lol I just remembered that for my Special Offense team I went on like a 20+ win streak to the top, too bad I didn't track it back then.

DPP Low Ladder is surprisingly more difficult than High Ladder if your team doesn't have a strong longevity game, as many lower-laddered players try to build unorthodox teams that you usually don't take account of, especially in combination with making unusual plays. There's also the type of players that do not want you to play the game, often bringing Sub Para Rachi, Twave Gyarados, and Starmie+Zap+Ttar para structures because a lot of the players mindset is that "I click this because it is strong and simple" and some people wants to ruin someone's day lol. Offensive teams that tend to be well structured, vs good players won't work against lower-ranked players because they don't get conditioned. If you have to make 50/50 reads or do doubles, then it's more likely you're losing one at some point if your team isn't built to destroy lower ladder teams. I'm not saying that you need to bring stall or defensive teams, as long as your team has a clear flowchart that covers the baseline on what these types of players tend to bring.

If you're ever going back and redo the challenge, there are some things you could do to help you win more.

Play some games on the ladder with another account before doing it on the win-streak account.
This helps you to find out what type of players are playing right now, and it will help you take more account of them in the future. Save replays and take some notes if you want on specific times. Not proud of this one, but I've been playing in every type of hour and have some sort of memorized on what type of players would bring or not, and I know when the ladder is at its strongest and it's weakest. This matters a lot during the weakest periods because there are more likely that you'll face the same players in the lower ladder in the next days.
Change your teams in lower ladder, unless it's specifically preying for these types of teams and you're always favoured vs them.
Since you met a lot of the same people in lower ladder, some players will try to adapt your playstyle in next games/ or bring a ct specific team because you may have pissed them off in the first match. Or just be a better player and react accordingly to the player's move, and take a small break before going back with the same team. I often suggest stopping playing if you meet the same player more than 2-3 times, as it means it's a perfect time to take a break and heal up that mental health.
Adjust your teams and your mindset to each ranking "skill level"
When changing and building teams, you've to take account beforehand on if the team is bulletproof vs sudden things that the players tend to love bringing. You have the same ladder experience as me, so I don't think I need to tell you my notes on that. If so, DM me if you want that. Reminder, most people when they've gotten around 1300-1500 will begin to build/play with teams that don't require them to think and put you in a substitute minigame because that's just how people want to win nowadays when they're at that skill level. I do feel bad when you're facing me, pkel or other strong players in alts lmao.

I think it's fair to say that DPP Ladder has been harder as more players tend to favour more things that make it hard to win vs it consistently. But I believe you're able to achieve this. Just try to do point 1 more and you can avoid me on ladder :P

Since I changed my username from togaquest to mackie, can someone change all instances of togaquest to mackie in the achievements hall-of-fame listing?

asking if this counts for marriland special, opponent forfeits early (zelf couldn’t break sub here cuz it’s either uturn or boom)

and if opponent’s structure would be like gyara loom tar / gyara nite tar / any of these with agi emp then a wipe is very feasible

This is actually a good question, however I would lean to this to not counting for the achievement. Just because its hypothetical, we don't know what other Pokemon the player has (truth be told you are in a very advatageous position with the speed boost + the Sub to cover any revenge killers). Also we have to take into account that the Cross Chop may miss.

Unfortunate that they did forfeit because it seems like they did so because they knew they were probably gonna be swept.

Edit: Now that I'm thinking of it it's 50/50 for the achievement, there is reasoning for both giving it, and not giving it to you.

toxic attitude, befitting for myself
side note: a team with no items and no steel types allowed is so bad that I actually have to pull out other alts because I couldn’t keep 1400

hazardous resubmission
I think gastrodon has to switch in once more? I might be remembering wrong but I could’ve done that super easily, there was virtually no way to lose and I was just gonna go into gastro on rotom but opp forfeited
Yeah, Gastrodon had to switch in one more time for me to consider the replay legitimate. Though there are exceptions due to timeouts/forfeits, I think it's for the extreme cases and I don't think this challenge is difficult enough for me to apply in here.

I understand it but my response to that would be

it’s actually not very easy to do that considering you can win the game too quickly and if you slowplay it it allows any decent player to catch up which the 1400 requirement does mostly cover

and if you’re so far ahead that slowplaying it would still win you the game (like in my submission), there’s just a chance they’re gonna forfeit (again, like in my submission)
I think it’s very easy to tell that I was just gonna complete the challenge if they didn’t forfeit at the last moment

plus I would have to play deliberately suboptimally if every chance I get is at risk of early forfeit and that’s just kinda becoming a matter of “I’m gonna throw my elo away to fish for an opportunity to win it”, like in my example I could’ve just thrown in gastro into gk for no reason and hope I don’t get unlucky with gyara but why should I, I didn’t know they were gonna forfeit

Considering your replay fits in all the categories, especially on the opponent being in an extremely unfavourable position to win due to Blissey, Celebi, and Gastrodon covering every scenario. Gastrodon could easily get rocks in next turn before the forfeit, so I'll gladly give you this one as well.

Congratulations on achieving the Luck challenge :)
